Hello
I'd heard that is a beta for pie.
Therefore I want to know it's true
If yes
How well works the Beta.
There was, at least, a private beta released one month ago. No FF links were shared.
I was registered but did not get the chance to get it pushedby OTA, still on STF-L09C432B377... ;
Screenshot is from someone else online.

According to Huawei's support in Denmark, Pie should be officially released to Honor 9 in February. But all depending on how many bugs the Beta release has to sort out.
Thx
For reply I get security patch 378 before Christmas.
Hopefully we get pie soon

Same here. And now even the project entry itself in the beta app is missing since a few days. I'm fairly sure they won't do much with the beta feedback. Not sure there will be another beta... and we still are 2 versions of the google security patches behind (november 2018, while 379 has the january patches included)
And as for "how well the beta works": most of the minor issues I had were gone after a factory reset. I like the slightly improved battery time (at least it is for me) and also the new notification bar features (even if I hate that you still can't switch to a dark or at least darker background here). But it's not like Pie brings much new stuff on the table, at least not in the form Huawei/Honor offer it. Overall, the differences between EMUI 8 and EMUI 9 are very minor, at least what a end-user sees of it.
Now even all my bugs disappeard in the app. Looks like nobody is interested in reported bugs ;-/
I think the chinese beta has finished. build 150 is available in firmware finder for it
Stable Android pie is already rolling in China.
We'll have to wait and see.
Sounds great. Google Pay isn't working anymore. I assume it is because it's a beta I'm running.

Hi folks!
I've purchased an unlocked international version of the RAZR V recently, and today received the update for Jellybean 4.1 from Motorola! Its official and adds Google Now, an improved homescreen and MUCH MUCH better performance among a host of other new features!
Attached screenshot below for verification!
I'm not sure if this is an accidental update (I know Motorola has had issues with pushing updates early in the past.), as Motorola reps told me an Update wouldn't be in the cards until late April at the earliest.

It also includes a second cumulative update which contains other bug fixes.
I've got no idea if it's live globally now, but it might be a good idea to check your phones!
Thanks for the infos
Im still waiting for this. Moto are taking their time!

Is there any hope for an update in Canada? When I go to check for updates in my settings, it says I'm up to date, but I'm still running 4.0.4!
My conversation with Hugo Barra of Xiaomi may interest you Devs and owners of the Mi3...

So I e-mailed him, and asked him if he knows the status of the Lollipop ROM by Ivan which was teased before.
[See THIS POST by me]
This is what he replied.
So I guess we still have to wait a few more months...but if this time, it's true, then I suppose I can live with that...:fingers-crossed:
[NOTE: I know threads exist for both kernel sources and Lollipop discussion, but I couldn't decide where to post this, so instead of posting same thing in both, I made this thread. If mods think that's not the right procedure, please make whatever changes you want. Just that people need to know this!]
EDIT:
An official update regarding kernel sources (at least now they're not ignoring the matter):
http://en.miui.com/thread-66692-1-1.html
Turns out we were right in speculating that the reason they haven't released it is cuz they're still working on the Mi4 using the same sources.
Here's an extract:
"The reason we have not shared kernel sources yet is actually quite simple. Hugo explained this at the press conference in India last week. The kernel source code for these devices contains a significant amount of source code that will be used in two upcoming models. If we release the kernel source in its current state, we will be revealing more than we would like to about future devices. We will change this going forward, but right now it is a constraint we have to live with. We hope you can understand this position, and we're very sorry for the frustration we may have caused!"
That's right, they're acting like they haven't been violating the GPL all this while...
Wonder what the other device is, though...
(EDIT: Turns out it was the Mi Note!)
UPDATE:
Sources are out:

Yup. But if this is TRUE, and they DO release all sources in that time, I can afford to wait...
But it'll be hard, yeah...
What the fork?
that *beep* said redmi 1s sources are coming in Q1 2015 and now it turned to mi3.
I was waiting for follow up on issue. he added some "engineer" to conversation & disappeared.

Are they fix orange color(some shade) issue for RYYB lens?
Nice! Of course it'll take a month or something like that before 95% of us gets the update, but at least it's something to look forward to.

Found this chinese thread with a photo of before and after 162

I got the update like 2 nights ago. Chinese Version also VOG AL00
I guess the .162 would be the last one now that Google has also restricted them access to further security patches and updates. Next ota might the phone being upgraded to huawei's own OS

There's a Google statement about that. They said that phone certification will not be lost in the phone already in the market and they are trying to find a solution to support all the phone already sold.
We will see in the next days.

I guess our current situation is like the picture above. Will our devices be dusted ? Or will The Avengers Huawei prevail ?
Huawei and Google assured us that all current devices will enjoy continued access to Google's Framework. At the moment as in these 90 days period, we have nothing to worry about as Google will still work with Huawei in providing security patches.
So, the only issue now will be security patches, which will be delayed (not like it's on time now anyway) and the advancement to Android Q (which looks like it's totally off the menu for now).
Security patches will continue to work as Huawei mentioned and also i had a long talk with their local customer service manager here today. He assured me that all security updates will go on as per normal as they will be using sources from AOSP for the patches. Personally i feel, Huawei being a Giant, they definitely have some insiders or spies in Google and other major brands so getting the source before being announced publicly by Google seems a not as so far- fetched.
Anyway, I've used a lot of phones in the past including the S10 Plus and the P30 Pro seems to be one of the best I've used so far. Currently running software version 9.1.0.161 and most of the issues has been fixed. Colors seem so much more natural, no more stutters whilst panning in video mode, etc.
So to those who think the features outweighs the possibility of getting security updates in time, stick to your phone and don't get fed by the media as they're only fueling the current fire for attention.
Stay calm and hope Thanos Trump doesn't dust our beloved phones. :silly:
so many subjects addressing the same issue my friend, this conclusion was mentioned a gizilion times already
Hello Everyone!
I have a a Tab S6 currently on Android 9 (stock) that unfortunately still won't get Android updates. I know Pie went out more than 3 years ago and I'd like to at least get on Android 10. But since I got this last December, I've been checking for new updates every week and I'm always told that my software is up to date.
Would you guys happen to know why that is the case?
Thank you very much in advance!

I have two Note 10+'s, both stock with their original firmware, one's running on Pie, the other 10. Pie has better functionality and usability.
Security is simply not an issue unless you do stupid things*.
Leave it on Pie and be happy... you can upgrade at any time, no rush.
*if you use wifi (which I never do) that is a known vulnerability in Pie. Android 10 is more hardened for those attacks. It's more a public unsecure wifi issue which you should never use anyway.
If you use wifi or bluetooth in high population density areas you should research those vulnerabilities and then decide.
I'm ready to reload at anytime and my critical data is redundantly backed up... so I just don't care. My current load on my Pie variant will be 2 yo in June, still fast, stable with minimal maintenance. What's not to like?

You're welcome.
I really like Pie. Having 2 near identical N10+'s allows me to compare both OS versions side by side. Android 10 has dozens of new small Samsung system apps to maintain the UI's functionality and appearance. Both versions look nearly identical but Pie is easier to navigate the settings. There's no cpu cycle sucking scoped storage with Pie, it seems largely inactive in 10.
That changes with 11 and 12 is completely fubar.
Install Karma Firewall. A VPN based freeware app the uses almost no battery and will help secure your device and let you what accessing the internet. It's valuable logging feature is fully functional in Pie, but not Android 10.
It's on Playstore too.
