Hey everyone, so i switched to a samsung galaxy s ii and skld my atrix to a friend. The atrix was unlocked, rooted and gingerblurred. He called me today and told me he tried to update blur to 4'5 and the phone got into a boot loop.
He then glashed back with sbf 1'83 i think and when he turned the phone back on it was locked to at&t again. He cant use his sim kn his phone.
Now i dont have the unlock code since i bought it unlocked on ebay. What can i do, or what can he do really.? Am i going to have to buy another unlock code? Isnt the unlock code supposed to be permanent?

If your eBay unlocking experience is anything like mine check your email for the unlock code - unless you're the type of person who deletes potentially important emails often.

Thanks for the reply, but i bought the phone unlocked on ebay so i dont have the unlock code. The phone already came unlocked

Unlocks survive sbf flashes (I know I have flashed my unlocked phone numerous times) so either
1) It is unlocked still but your friend is confused
2) It was never unlocked
People often say unlocked to boost the value of their item. If you get it and it's not, all the seller has to do is offer to refund if you ship it back or pay to have it unlocked. In most cases, the unlock code cost less than shipping.
Well the phone was unlocked, since I used it before with my sim from chile with no problem for 3 weeks and when I sold it to my friend he also tried the phone with his sim and it worked.
I dont think he got confused, he puts his sim in and it says its invalid sim but the sim does work on another phone, in this case its his old blackberry.
what else could it be?

I was thinking the same. Since if phone is not unlocked it should ask for the unlock code when you put another carrier sim, right?.
Well, i dont think its blacklisted since i used it for 3 or 4 weeks and he used it for 1 more week, but it is strange that with the new sim the phone doesnt ask for the unlock code. Maybe the unlock code attempts expired?

Does your friend have the same carrier as you?. If not did you tested the phone with your sim?.

Can't flash back with 4.1.83. Have to flash 4.1.57 first, (or 4.1.26 then 4.1.57), then 4.1.83. Have him try that. Can't hurt.

Hey so my.friend flashed to 1.83 and no luck but thrn he flashed gingerblur and it worked, the phone recognized his sim. I dont know.what happened or if he.just did something wrong, but it is now.working. thanks for the ideas and your help

I'm wondering what modem should I use in my country since my ISP uses the 900/2100MHz bands for 3G. I know the European version of the Galaxy S can use 900mhz for 3G, but the Vibrant?
The 900 band uses way less energy and it's better coverage.
Please, tell me your thoughts on this.

I'm from Europe,but I'm planning to get Samsung Galaxy NOTE 3 from USA.I have been reading a little bit on the forum on USA models.My friend can get me NOTE 3 from SPRINT carrier,for not much money..It has unlocked boot loader,not too late updates and I can use it here in Europe with European SIM card(I think). Other carriers have NOTE 3 (like VERIZON and AT&T) but with locked boot loader,and from I have read,VERIZON makes updates last on their phones....
Can you please tell me your personal experience with SPRINT'S version of NOTE 3,so I can decide whether to get it or look elsewhere?
And if you are asking why do I want to buy SAMSUNG NOTE 3 from USA and not from Europe,the answer is because I have someone over there ,who can get it much cheaper for me.
Is there a way to unlock the phone for free here on the forum and easily root it in some safe way?
And will it work on European frequencies including 3G and 4G ?

I'm pretty sure you can't just insert a European SIM card into it. It won't work. Can someone confirm this?

Sprint has to unlock it and it has to be on a sprint account for 90 days before they will

So then,maybe it is better to go with T-MOBILE's NOTE 3,instead of Sprint.If there is no possibility of unlocking the phone e.t.c..maybe then I will have problem with frequencies here in Europe as well....
