Hi, just got my Huawei P20 Lite in January and dont know much about them, I've had samsung phones for the past 6 years and they were much easier to deal with.
Anyway, for some reason my wifi will randomly disconnect weather the phone is in use or asleep.
i never had this problem on my other phone and every other device in the house works perfectly.
i have tried restarting, forgetting and reconnecting the network, made sure "WiFi off during sleep" is off. wifi+ is off.
tried the above methods and nothings worked so far, i dont wanna do a factory reset but i will as a last resort.
any advice appreciated, Thanks.

I did a factory reset and hope it works. I currently have 8.0.0.159 (C432) and my model number is ANE-LX1, vodafone branded.
Im hoping the factory reset will sort it out.
Just my penny's worth,I also am facing the same issues, constantly searching & disconnecting, despite having WiFi+ off.
However my software also a Vodafone handset albeit unlocked is on 8.0.0.151 (C782).

The hard reset won't solve it if the issue was still present on your last update 8.0.0.157, so I've done the research and your complete build number is this one C432B157 .
If the issue was not present before on build 8.0.0.157, then I advise you to downgrade to that version. If the hard reset worked then great
In case you need a guide just quote me again

Hi there
Same advice as the one for the OP, either downgrade to an older version until they fix it or wait for an the next February patch update

Hi AS,
Am I correct in assuming that if I wanted to "rebrand"
To flash "8.0.0.172(C432)" found here ?https://androidhost.ru/Tuu?pt=V1ZJdk9XWTBSMloyVlhRdlNHNVBTa2h6ZG5WQ1FUMDlPdmRCZFdZV2lSNko5NFlDTFgzbzVaZz0%3D thus enabling me to get more frequent updates? Will me being on c782 be an issue if I'm to flash c432
Update; Even after a factory reset its still happening.
Btw i would love to know how to debrand my phone.
I have tried the dload method, erecovery method, and the DNS method of firmware finder and nothing has worked.
Everytime I try i get "software update failed" and it's frustrating. Samsung firmware was easier to manipulate.

Hi there
No, to rebrand a phone you need to change the oeminfo image of the system, you must have an unlocked bootloader and a TWRP recovery to backup the current oeminfo image (C782).

Hey
Same thing as for the other person, you need to change oeminfo system image to be able to flash a dload package
As for the issue you guys are having with the wifi connection you guys should downgrade via dload package to an older version of your system, example: 8.0.0.159 to 8.0.0.157, this will delete all your data though, so BACKUP FIRST and only then downgrade.
That should work for the Wifi issue.
Cheers,
AS
See my guide for how I did this. I unbranded my uk ee device to a generic European device

Please if anyone can guide me on how to downgrade my phone from Kitkat 4.4.2 to Jellybean.
My nephew upgraded it for me and few days after I noticed my mobile data was not working anymore. Second I noticed was Bluetooth, it wasn't working either. I ignored it because I coud still use wifi, but a week ago it also gave up. My phone also restarts on its own.
I asked some tech and I was told it was because of the upgrade that is why I want to downgrade. Anyone who can assist me please? Or any solution that you know. I am not sure myself if the problem was caused by the upgrade. I tried checking videos on youtube on how to downgrade but I;m scared to brick my phone. I am not sure about the correct files to download and that sort of stuff.
PLEASE help.
I just want my phone working.
I tried to root my phone

Well, nope I don't think now you can downgrade your device from KitKat to JellyBean not possible at all because the boot loader may have been upgraded and if you even try downgrading the device by rooting your device it may results in bricking up. I would say rather than moving forward with the downgrading better would be to stay with the KitKat and keep your fingers crossed for the next update to fix most of your problems.

Depends on which variant of the S4 that you have. Some versions have ways to do a modded downgrade (not official via Odin like the good ole days...), but in general it's more trouble and risk than it is worth.
Thank you for your time and suggestions. I'd just want to add that my phone overheats even when it's off. And it also doesn't turn on anymore unless I connect the charger. I think its dying.

Did he update the phone officially or custom rom? By OTA or from the computer? I would reset the device and reinstall the latest firmware via Odin on the PC. If it was done via OTA, that can cause some odd issues, especially if the download was not 100% or reset during the process. It's always a good idea to reset when updating major versions, despite what the manufacturers tell you. I see it all the time at my shop and during my many many hours here on XDA researching and helping others.

What region are you using the phone in? It looks like the firmware is from Romania. Not that it couldn't work other places, but sometimes it works best to use a firmware and modem meant for the area you are using the phone in... Stranger things have happened.

I found video on youtube and did the same to my phone but nothing happened. I flashed my modem, it says on youtube, modem wifi fix, did it twice but didn't work. I also tried custom kernel but was getting error.
I don't know what to do anymore. It's just really very sad for a very expensive smartphone to not work. Bluetooth, mobile data and wifi are all not working. It doesn't turn on as well if you remove the battery unless you connect a charger.

What happens when you try to toggle data? Does it turn on and right back off or does the switch to move to on not slide over or is greyed out?
I might try using Odin to install the Phillipines firmware, which you can find here:

Hi:
Newbie here, so please bear with me. I am fairly techie, but never really worked on phones (I'm a Windows / Network engineer by trade).
I had an S6 Edge on the Vodafone network, and live in an area with poor cell coverage. So, I fully took advantage of wifi calling. I've upgraded to the S8 (gorgeous phone, BTW) so I gave the device to my missus, who made the mistake of buying an EE iPhone, and hates it.
We unlocked the phone to the EE network, but the wifi calling option has vanished, and I've been told that this is by design, as only phone purchased directly from EE have wifi calling enabled.
Been looking around, and have seen that if we root the phone and flash it with an EE image, then things should be hunky dory. However, having never undertaken a project like this on a phone, I'm seeking some guidance, as I don't want to completely brick the device.
Are there any idiot-proof step-by-step guides on here to do this?
Cheers in Advance

It's actually a lot simpler than you think. No need to root all you have to do is flash the EE firmware through Odin (Samsung flashing tool) and voila, EE Wi-Fi calling will appear. Also volte will be available too.
If you need step by step I can help.
I need model number and android version and I can link you the firmware.

Hey dude.... after trolling through this forum some more, I was able to find what I needed to flash the firmware onto the device... However, Wi-Fi calling (as an option) does not seem to appear yet, but I wonder if that is due to the lack of SIM card (wife put it back in her iPhone, so I could sort this at work.
If I've downloaded the wrong stuff, then I'm happy to redo.

When you downloaded the firmware was there 5 files in the zip? Or just the one AP file?
Did you look in phone app > settings then scroll to bottom for Wi-Fi calling option? If you flashed an EE firmware it should be there mate.
As well as the EE firmware you need to have the EE csc. You have this csc, EVR?

Heya.... no such "issues" so to speak. Just one where my baby kicked the USB cable, causing a brief disconnect during the flashing process. This, of course, sent me into a spiral of panic because the entire phone crashed, with errors, recovery messages invoking Smart Switch, and the like. However, restarting the phone and connecting it to Odin completely recovered the phone.
Initially, the flashing worked, but it didn't enabled Wi-Fi calling, so I reset the phone back to factory settings, flashed it again and voila!!!! Worked like a charm! Then restored the backup from Smart Switch that I made yesterday, and the missus now has a full functional EE phone with Wi-Fi calling.
Thanks very much for your help mate.... you're a legend.
I'm gonna keep Odin, as it seems like a great recovery tool as well. :good:

Yesterday one user was able to succeed updating through [HuRUpdater] and one of my friend was also able to update to one build but it showed different device specs and the same build build you tried hard bricked his device. If my guess is right it is the build issue and not [HuRUpdater] issue.May be I am wrong ?

Btw how does the brick Voids warranty ?
Its just a software issue and is covered in warranty.

I'm in the UK. I'm not exactly sure how bricking voids warranty but my guess would be because the end user is responsible for flashing various software to the device. I do remember seeing on the EMUI website that bootloader unlocking on devices after mid 2018 won't be eligible for bootloader unlocking due to so many hardware bricking cases.
I'm happy with my new OnePlus 6 though. I'll probably have to let go of the hope of recovering the Honor 10 even though I'm making a loss as I was gonna sell it.

Hello Guys,
I had exactly the same problem.
I upgraded to EMUI 9 and everything worked fine but I wanted to go back to EMUI 8.1 so I went to TWRP with the intention of doing a factory restoration and downgrade.
I made a Wipe / data, Wipe dalvic / format all data. After this I waited a lot and it didn´t respond.
I had to force the restart and since then the phone no longer works. Same for me, the phone has no recovery and no OS and no erecovery.
I have contacted the people from FunckyHuawei. I have paid 1 credit in order to unbrick the phone but it did not work. They said that; "It would need to be able to reach rescue recovery mode. If it can not reach that, it may be bricked beyond repair. "
Then I contacted another technician, I connected to my computer remotely and he tried to flash all necessary files via fastboot but some of them failed to flash.
He said it looks like there is no TWRP recovery COMPATIBLE for EMUI9 yet.
Now what to do guys? I will really apreciate any help. The phone has only 3 weeks and I feel so noob now.
Kind Regards,
Gerardo

I have flashed the update.zip using beta-downy_0.4 program
you have to transfer the 3 zip files update.zip, update_all_hw, update_data_public tp the "Zip-Here" Folder.
Then run the "Flash.bat" file and follow the instruction.
The update.zip will install the twrp recovery. Then I flashed the Kernel.img and system.img
after restar the phone was like new with EMUI9. However there are things that are not really well, such like the info in "about phone" is not showing the "compilation number" nor model number, also other options and functionalities has dissapeared but for the rest the phone works fine. At least you can recover the phone. I will do some more research today to fix those issues. I might have to reflash the whole system again.

Hello Max, any news?
In this case i would roll back on emui 8 to make sure that everything works and then go emui 9 by using hisuite 5.0.0.300 and change ip4 dns. Tht should work. I remember on huawei p9 it has to be with an earlier version to be able to pass some main things to the next firmware so you will jot have broken menus. That was upgrading ofc emui 6 to emui 7. I ssume though its something similar

Yes , that's what I did. I rolled back to 8.0 by changing the DNS as well. Then I have upgraded to 8.1 and I will wait for EMUI9 OTA.
Glad to hear your phone is back to life?

Oh I didn't have any problems with my phone but I wanted to know how to solve it in case I try to upgrade it and have some problems . Sorry for giving the impression that I had a bricked device
Hello, I have a similar problem I've been using emui 9 for a month but I decided to roll back because there was some app draining the battery when I went to recovery and wiped the data but that didn't work for some reason. now I'm unable to use my phone the only thing i can use is the fastboot

I tried that but it didn't work. Did you do anything before that ?
For now, there's no guaranteed method to roll back to oreo. I recommend that you wait for an update

I did, I could rolled back to 8.0 and then I updated to 8.1 but first you have to unbrick your phone as I did with EMUI9

My phone was hard bricked... Everybody said It couldn't be fixed..but I did! If course I suffered 4 days trying to revive it day and night..until I got it
So I managed to downgrade to successfully unlock my bootloader however I am now stuck on 8.0.0.046(092Y) and am unable to OTA update. I have installed magisk and TWRP and they are both currently working however I am curious as to why I cannot update to a newer 8.0 OTA firmware. Any suggestions? The device is an ANE-LX3 single sim.
Because you used wrong firmware.
(092y) or similar numbers are here because wrong firmware..
At least that was case for me, when I installed single SIM firmware over dual SIM phone, and of course, that build number not exist in update servers, so no updates here, till you fix your firmware

This is what I feared, thanks for confirming. I am hoping flashing this will solve my issues. Any advice before doing so?

HM.. in link you gave here, is writed about ane-lx1, you mentioned your phone are ane-lx3 single sim, so, I'm not sure it can fix your problem..
And I'm not used that files, and can't say anything about that.
And more important, what was full build number for your phone, aka ane-lx3c779, something like that, can you find it? Then I maybe be able to help.
And ,wulda be great if you type down all you did with phone, what used, etc.

I noticed the file name is LX1 however in the description it says its for all models which is confusing. Any idea where I could find an official firmware download for LX3? Even a functional custom rom compatible with my device would be fine if I could find one.
I used hisuite to first downgrade and then used the firmware from this post to dload downgrade again in order to unlock the bootloader. I then factory reset after successfully unlocking the bootloader which left me at build 046.
To be honest I cannot remember what the original build number was although c779 does sound very familiar.

Hello there brother. May I humbly ask how did you get your bootloader unlocked after downgrading? Can you share some steps please if you don't mind. Thank you
Hi
I have Mate 20 Pro (Lya-L09, EMUI 9.0.0) that I upgraded from original firmware to 9.0.0.210 using MikeOS method.
Now i just want it back to stock as when i 'check for updates' it never finds any even though i know new firmware has been released OTA.
I have downloaded updated firmware through Firmware Finder (tried both through the phone and through the app)
However, no method seems to work (I've tried all of them). They usually just error out or nothing at all. I've tried/looked at different tools: SP Flash, Flashy, Dload (dialer and eRecovery), MikeOS.
I'm happy to lose everything and start again, i just don't know how and I'm going around in circles looking at various websites and threads.
Any help appreciated.
Which cust is your device ? Cxxx ?
Does your bootloader is unlocked ?

Try changing your home internet/Wi-Fi DNS and then use eRecovery. Some ISPs may block access to China sites. At least mine does. When I use my home Wi-Fi, I can't access some China sites, but if I use my cell network instead, I can access those sites without problem.
Factory reset your phone first might help. Since you tried so many ways to update, you might have messed up some system files.

I'm guessing my bootloader is locked, however if there is a way of finding out, please let me know how.
Thanks

Hi
With recovery I changed my DNS on the router and my phone. With FF, I tested to hicloud and it worked, but when it reset it couldn't access the package and directed me to Huawei website.
Factory reset is something to consider.

Just flash B212 (
http://update.dbankcdn.com/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G3469/g1750/v234906/f1/full/update_full_base.zip
)
With this method (Use hisuite UPDATE's option)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?do=showpost&p=78850439
Once on LYA C34 B212, that should bring you back C34 OTAs for your device.

Thanks Oslo83.
If i'm using the Hisuite update method, how do i point it to the b212 flash? Wouldn't Hisuite just look online for an update?

You register an approved B212 on FirmwareFinder, then you used patched hisuite with FirmwareFinder DNS and the Hisuite's update option.
That should update you to B212.

Holy smokes! This worked! I can't thank you enough!
I had some issues originally of HiSuite just kept closing on my laptop when i clicked 'update'. Took about 5 goes and having HiSuite showing on my phone for the update to begin.
Have since downloaded new update OTA (273).
Awesome!

So far on kirin980 there is only dirty-softrebrand. (DC-Phoenix flash or forced hisuite flash or even possibly renamed dload package flash)
Meaning device's vendorcountry stays the same, but with cust and preload forced to another region. Beware of that on emui10 where it seems there is checks at boot about cust&preload version.
