Someone that already have it coukd check what band are included? Today i will ran some test on my friends phone
Did you checked it? I'm very curious about aggregation bands 1+3+7 because no other Xiaomi could do that because of software lock. S855 could do that easily
Also curious
I'm waiting to hear more on this as well. I'm hoping, due to their recent announcements of trying to enter the US market, that the Mi 9 will aggregate on more bands, specifically bands in the US on AT&T.
Once OnePlus started entering the US market they made sure to unlock all the features of the Qualcomm modem. My 5T often is 3xCA on 2, 4, 12 or 66 for example. Unfortunately, it has a huge bug with the modem.
I made some test with my mi 9 eu with the global beta and I can confirm that it is 4ca (and 256 qam) capable in europe (b1+b3+b7+b20). Tomorrow I'll check if it can go in MIMO 4x4.

For the life of me I cannot get LTE+ to work(carrier aggregation). My Chinese variant will only connect to a single LTE band. I have run stock, xiaomi.eu, floko gsi and not on global stable and no change. WTF. My temp phone that is a Verizon lg g3 can do LTE+ and it only supports 2 T-Mobile bands where this device support 4.

Same here, LTE+ doesn't show up. I'm on T-Mobile US. I didn't have any problems with my Mix 2 and Mix 2S.
I've had it show a couple times outdoors but never inside. I also had no similar issue on Mix 2 or 2S. I thought the MI & Mix Xiaomi phones were supposed to be comparable but maybe not.
My mi5 has AG on b3+b7 but my mi 9 don't show 4g+ and no AG!
Xiaomi is unsual in this case!

In Italy mi9 supports only b1, b3, b7 and b20.
The mi9 has 4x4 MIMO only on band 7 but not in any combination that include the band 3.

OMG, why only band B7?
I guess we will never have full support.
In the Netherlands I see 4G+ all the time, just like on my previous MI mix 2. Not rooted, bootloader is locked, global version running eea rom

Hi everyone. I have only 3G on my RN3 MTK. Rom is MIUI 8 Global 6.7.21 Beta. I tried to set it on LTE only from the hidden settings, but there is no signal. Anyone know a solution? Thanks
Depends on your carrier and which Band you are trying to connect to
My carrier is Vodafone DE. But I dunno which band I am triyng to connect. How can I check that?
Sent from my Redmi Note 3 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Vodafone Germany uses bands 3, 7 and are adding band 20. If you're in a band 20 area you're out of luck as only the Taiwan Special Edition SD650 version has it.

Then you're either on Band 4 or have a Taiwan Special Edition that has both. But you definitely have the SD version and not the MTK he's referring to. If I'm wrong please post a screenshot of your "About phone" because that would be fantastic news.
Hey everyone!
Currently a user of an RR rooted oneplus 3. Love the phone but I keep hearing good things about Xiaomi.
I must admit I'm curious, especially with the Mi Mix 2 coming out. How are Xiaomi phones on US cell networks? I would mainly be using AT & T. I have no problem putting custom roms etc on my phones so that's not an issue.
I just wouldnt want to be stuck with a phone that had bad 4G/LTE support.
Pros and cons of going with a Xiaomi phone vs say the one plus 5, or a true US supported phone like the LG V30 or upcoming pixel XL2 or even the asus zenphone 4 pro?
Curious to see what everyone has to say .

I'm using Redmi note 4 global Version in USA on T-Mobile. You just need to do a little research on what frequency at&t uses. Or what bands they use. For me I'm only getting 1 LTE band supported which is band 4. I get lte everywhere and it's fast. This is what at&t supports 17(700Mhz), Band 5(850Mhz), Band 2(1900Mhz), Band 4(1700/2100Mhz) currently. You can use this http://www.china-prices.com/phone/bands/7131/xiaomi-redmi-note-4-64gb to check compatibility with Chinese phones it's pretty accurate. So I just looked it up the global Version of Redmi note 4 you would get 2 LTE bands. Better than what I get. You can research other xiaomi phones as well.

Also switch service to mint sim for $25 a month with unlimited talk text and 10gb of data. Redmi note 4 global Version 3gb around $150 and the 4gb version around $200.
There are some xiaomi phones that support more bands but they do cost more. A unlocked phone in the USA you should be getting at least 3 LTE frequencies support. Like on T-Mobile there are 3 main bands. 2 4 and 12. 12 is for when your inside and it penetrates through buildings. At&t might have the same type of thing with 850mhz. Lower the frequency the farther it can travel.
Feel free to direct message me if you have more questions I've basically researched all available xiaomi phones. I can help you with compatibility
You don't have to worry about bands support, if it doesn't support bands on USA, You can unlock all bands on Mido, 1-41 bands can be unlocked

So basically as long as the soc's modem supports it then there are ways to unlock it. I am unfamiliar with Mido. What is that? I am going to be targeting a Snapdragon 835 phone here in the next month or two. Hopefully we will see on the 11th the mi mix 2 getting that Soc.

I'm not sure about the first line, but here on RN4 it can be unlocked with other version of RN4 who had All bands unlocked
Mido is code name for Redmi Note 4, every devices on Xiaomi have their own code name
I think yes it will be getting 835
I think it will be support for Mi Mix 2 on USA, i know someone who had mi6 basically had same soc, and he can used it in USA
Unlocking bands is not easy at all.. it's possible in theory, but it's extremely complicated and dangerous you can completely brick your phone.
Dont even consider this, i dont know what this guy above is talking about. Maybe he will present us unlocked all bands if this is so easy?

It's easy and it will not brick your phone, only signal loss and you can restore your backup if anything happened (signal loss)

Make sure your sim is in Sim slot 1 which is the one that goes farthest inside phone that's the only one that works for LTE.
Looks like your carrier runs off the t mobile network. You have lte band 2 4 and 12. There are also multiple versions of redmi note 4. If you have redmi note 4 global version which runs the snapdragon processor you should be ok and getting LTE on band 4.
Also depending on what area you are in and the cell towers in your area you could be to far from LTE cell towers. Good luck
Go into sim apn settings there should be one already setup called fast t mobile. Because I'm pretty sure your on t mobile network you can select that and get LTE.

A good app from the play store is called LTE discovery it will tell you what band or frequency you are on I posted a couple screen shots on a different phone though running MIUI 8 but should be about the same. Also what plan are you on maybe you have used all your data? Also check with your carrier you might have to supply the IMEI number for them to activate it. Are you able to make calls?
Are you able to use the Sim in a different phone and LTE is fine?
Are you sure your not on redmi note 4x?

Does LTE actually continue to work for you after you make a voice call or when it otherwise switches to something other than LTE?
Because I'm on cricket as well and mine never goes back to LTE once it switches to H+. I've gotta go into preferred network and switch to to Prefer 3G and back to Prefer LTE to make it work again.
I've tried it with an AT&T prepaid sim as well. I've also done a factory reset, tried the nano sim in slot 2 and also in a micro sim adapter in slot 1. All with the same result. I've got good LTE signal on band 4 all over the place which works perfectly when it's connected. But if I make a phone call or walk into the center of home depot where the signal drops for even a second, it will go to H+ and literally never switch back.

oh OK. Im on 8.5.4.0. I should probably try 9, or Lineage soon.
I did actually witness this thing switch from H+ to LTE today, I couldn't believe my eyes. It was out in the middle of nowhere, and the LTE signal showed 1 bar, so apparently the H+ must have been even worse.
Guys H+ is fast too, I think it's like up to like 168mbps. Personally I have no problems with LTE but I prefer to use H+ because it's enough of speed for everything you could think of, obviously the signal is better then 4g and it's easier on battery.
Edit:
Actually it seems like H+ can be even faster then LTE.

I personally don't experience hissing on this phone. As far as issues, it involves the OTA from Vendor Roms which bricked some devices. You can check your ROM version and cross reference it with the ones on the Mi website to make sure. Aside from that, I don't see anything wrong with the phone.
Hi, I'm also considering to buy Note 5 and I just wanted to say that I don't have that problem with Note 4, it doesn't mean much since I don't use N5 but I think there is very very little chance for hissing issue in any device produced in 2017.

Hi, when I purchased seller offer also a global variant for 40 usd more.
Many people confuse about global device version and global firmware that it´s not the same.
You just have to pay special attention to the bands that is enabled, the global version has more bands enabled, by i.e my version that is a non global doesn´t have LTE bands 2 (1900) nor 4 (1700/2100) it mean that in my country it can´t work on 4G (of course I bought it so it is cause I didn´t need). This is the main difference.

Why do you say that has B4? Where you saw it?
Look at this info, just 4G apparted, this is a non-global version from a chinese seller you can find these specs;
4G FDD LTE B5:850 /B8:900 /B3:1800 /B1:2100 /B7:2600
TD LTE B38:2600 /B39:1900/ B40:2300 /B41:2500 MHz
TD or TDD is the LTE FOR China, look up FDD LTE bands.
And this is a Global version, seller usually put in a red highlighted the bands added
4G: FDD LTE B5:850 /B8:900 /B3:1800 /B1:2100 /B7:2600 /B4:1700 /B20:800;
TD LTE B38:2600 / B40:2300
Differences here are bands 4 for Latin America and guess some regions of Asia and maybe others and band 20 for Spain.

No, if your device hasn´t these two added bands definitely it´s not a global version (global rom concept mean nothing for this) is a hardware limitation although can work within 4G depending on your company carrier in some of the 5 frequencies enabled.
I have a Chinese RN5, it has loads of bands dudes. The chance of it not working on your network are slim.
As for the headphones dilemma, they do not hiss or produce low volume. Altho if you pair them with Xiaomi Pro HD which have a high impedance then you will notice a lack in volume. That can be easily fixed with Dolby Atmos the Magisk Module.
Can ANYONE who has the Mate 20 Pro and has T-Mobile (U.S.) as well confirm whether or not VoLTE is an option?? Please, if you do have it, let me know. Also, please: 1) Provide a screenshot of a phone call in progress (using stock calling app) 2) Provide the model # (L09 ((Single SIM) or L29 ((Dual SIM))). 3) Mention if Wi-Fi Calling is listed as well or not. 4) A screenshot of the settings page with VoLTE listed would be helpful as well, but it's NOT as important as #1.
Thank you all in advance!!

Ok. Thanks leo! That sux.
Anyone got the L29 Dual SIM version?? If so, VoLTE?!! lol
LYA-L29 does not have T-Mobile VoLTE.
Strangely, the Mate 20 X does support T-Mobile VoLTE.

WTF? You have proof of this?? lol
It doesn't have anything to do with T-Mobile certifying one phone for Volte and not the other--both support the necessary bands. There's just a line of code different in the OS.
With the Xiaomi Mix 2 & Mix 2S the former supported Volte on T-Mobile and the latter didn't despite having the same modem and band support. But in MIUI a dial code turns off the coding for carrier check and voila--the 2S supports Volte on T-Mobile just like the Mix 2.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be anything like that on Huawei phones but a software update could easily add Volte compatibility.

The thing with T-Mobile is, your phone can have Band 12 on it, but T-Mobile doesn't allow you to use for calls (only data) unless the phone has certified VoLTE on it. At least THIS is what I was told. But you may be right b/c the newest Sony phone (Xperia XZ3) as far as I know doesn't have T-Mo VoLTE certification, yet when I got it (and later returned it cuz the camera was surprisingly under par), I was able to have VoLTE on a call b/c, just not in 4G LTE. But the call showed "HD+" which means VoLTE was there, even w/o VoLTE in the Settings menu. And the newest T-Mobile 2018 phones (meaning the ones sold by T-Mo directly) don't have it listed either...........so I dunno anymore! lol I guess now it's not about having 4G LTE during a call, it's about if you see HD+ or HD something while making a call on the stock phone app.
Wow! That's pretty cool. Yeah I hope Huawei does that. I just got the OnePlus 6T from T-Mo and traded in my LG V30, so it's too late now anyway. I'd still like to see proof of the 20X having it though, cuz next spring I am considering upgrading again (since I got 6T for only $280 with trade-in) to the P30 Pro maybe. But if no VoLTE, again I will pass on it.
Anyone here get Volte on T-Mobile with Mate 20 Pro?
I was not able to find a way to get volte working on my l29, but I did install tmo digits. After the install, I called someone and was able to stay on 4g lte and was able to use wifi calling(using my number) . I think its a great work around.

Would you know if Mate 20 hma-l29 supports volte on tmobile? Edit. No it don't.
Some claim neither does the Mate 20x, yet you seem to say not.

I have an LYA-AL00 and have volte in China using China Unicom. When I was in California, I had a T-Mobile SIM and had the volte option

So when using for phone calls with tmobile in California, would you recall if it dropped from LTE or not?

i had 4g+ coverage in my area with my 2nd lenovo phone ( same network operator ).
and poco f1 supposed to have 4g+ coverage and frequencies even better than my old phone ..
any one facing this issues and is any fix to enable 4g+ to my poco f1
thanks

i read your previous post , one replied to change the region from the setting , actually miuipro removed this from the setting , and when I was using stock rom , i kept the region ( india) to use face data unlock feature.
did u tried to change the region from the setting? and if u did , does it work or not ?
because I dont like to try the stock rom again unless it works :cyclops:

disappointing to have that great phone with this weird issue , I read somewhere on the internet, that xiaomi lock some bands frequencies to their phones , I don`t know why , basically snapdragon 845 support most of the 4g bands frequencies by default.
I thought may be one of the developer here could find a fix or if any way to unlock the frequencies to be used .

If I am not wrong xiaomi does not lock band frequencies (at least not on global version) but carrier aggregation.

It seems that the wiki article I read few months ago that said that carrier aggregation was not supported outside India has been updated ( https://en.everybodywiki.com/List_of_devices_with_LTE_Advanced#Xiaomi ).
However, in India, you should not have problem with CA

Thank you very much for this source. It led me to finally find the problem of not getting 4G+ on Pocophone!
Indeed CA (Carrier Aggregation) is blocked for SOME LTE bands, specially B20, B3 which are used in EU. I have spent all night doing this research and there are many posts on miui forums about the same issue and Xiaomi does NOTHING about it! This led me to thinking Xiaomi knows about this limitation in their modems bought from Qualcomm for smaller price perhaps? Who knows, but the fact is from now on, no one can be sure about full support of LTE in his country as far the phone has all the LTE bands, because what also matters is support of CA!!!
Please note, that CA works fine for example in India where different LTE bands are used and modem is not limited. The problem is CA with EU bands.
Buying Xiaomi phone and want to get 4G+? The only way is to test it after you buy, because you cant get this information from any spec sheet out there
