Kernel sources aren't only for root users but that true with root is more possibilities.
Some mods like changing TCP BIC to CUBIC are possible to change in kernel but than you can't change they from system without root.

fair enough

Does this mean, ROM development may pick up pace für Exynos model?

Does this mean that there will soon be custom firmware for these devices?

hopefully.. plus twrp team should be working hard to give us custom recovery for exynos processor soon.

If nobody build twrp with samsung sources, we will never get custom roms.

And this can be?

Do you guys think there will be anything for the Hong Kong Snapdragon? I'm waiting to receive one of those because I wanted an unlockable SD855. I know the development will be sluggish compared to the Exynos version, but it's for later anyway.

I think yes but maybe later, i had Galaxy s6 Hong Kong version and i had too access to kernel source.

Hong Kong uses Exynos processor. Only china uses snapdragon and USA and some other countries. So if you bought an s10 from HK and it has snapdragon then it's not originally from HK. I know this because I live in HK and Shenzhen china. I bought mine from Singapore. S10+

s9 have some snapdragon unlocked bootloader, and have only one kernel and rom., samsung snapdragon variants is not for root users

The source codes for Snapdragon variants are up as well. Search by SM-G970U, SM-G973U & SM-G975U.

Well, at least there should be a custom recovery and there is a kernel and rom, so it's not that bad! I'm sure eventually it'll receive more updates when Samsung no longer does update the S9.

I'm getting now confused ... I'm in contact with Hong Kong sellers at the moment. According to the sellers and the internet the HK version is a unlocked Snapdragon version.
Wilson is an official Samsung reseller and they list the S10 (SM-G9730) Snapdragon version. https://www.wilsoncomm.com.hk/product-display-1806
I'm in Singapore and here is only the Exynos models available I wanted to order a Snapdragon version from USA but then I learned that it has a locked boot-loader.
How was the custom rom support for the Snapdragon versions of S8 and S9 in the past?

That's really weird because when I went in the Samsung store in HK they said it was Exynos in HK. But I ordered from Singapore because of the 2 free gifts. (Duo wireless charger and galaxy buds) yes I can confirm Singapore is Exynos.

sm-g9650 hong kong firmware to usa?

I've been reading up on firmware options on here but can't figure out a straight answer. I have the hong kong version of the s9 plus 256gb with the snapdragon chip. My question is can you use odin to flash USA firmware to it? Without getting a hard brick.
Like the fully unlocked firmware for us models that isn't tied to carriers. Thanks.

I do not know, but it would be great if you would upload your firmware to https://androidfilehost.com
Also, would you please tell me if you are able to use the native call recording functionality that Samsung pushed out in May with your phone
Sorry for no punctuation my keyboard is screwed up for some reason
Thanks Very Much

Based on what I've reviewed this look to be the best option to do so once you confirm the firmware is compatible.

All G965U and U1 models have locked bootloaders. There is no way to enable OEM Unlock.
You can't use G965F files on it since the hardware is completely different.
Always check for VoLTE compatibility before buying. The G965U/U1 is intended for US markets only.

Can I install US unlocked firmware on Canadian Note 10+ ?

Canadian Note 10+ N975W is unlocked, it is the Snapdragon 855 version.
The US Unlocked Note 10+ model is N975U1, it is also the snapdragon 855 version.
But, recently, the US unlocked model is getting frequent software updates. So, I was wondering can I install the US unlocked firmware to CA unlocked Note 10+?
Has anyone tried that?
Yes you can

Question 512GB version in Europe?

I am trying to replace my dying Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and have Sony Xperia 1 III high on my list. Is there a 512GB variant for Europe (XQ-BC52) ? If so, where can I find it ? Alternatively, can I use a US or HK variant in Europe (that is, IF I can find 512GB versions of them here) ? I don't wish to downgrade to 256GB and I do need dual SIM.

[HELP] Flashing my Galaxy S21 5G Korean Variant SM-G991N (CSC: LUC) to SM-G991B

Hello, I'm newbie and I just want to ask if I can flash another Firmware on my device, I'm currently on PH where s21 being sold here is SM-G991B (CSC: XTC). I want to remove the bloatwares and some samsung apps are still on Korean Language. I'm using an SM-G991N Model with LUC CSC. If possibly, I want to change it to XTC CSC, I already tried using Samkey but it failed. Should I flash the whole firmware SM-G991B on my device? It's same processor as my Korean Variant phone which is Exynos.
Hope anyone can help me. Thank you!
You will trip Knox if you try that.

It there any other way? coz Korean variant updates takes so long. OTA/Smart Switch I still don't receive the latest security updates.
Not as far as I know... Unless you want to use a custom ROM.
