After a decent amount of time reading posts on various threads, I am unable to figure out which vendor firmware version I need to flash with a custom ROM, say, Pixel Experience. Can somebody please clarify this for me?
Thanks

there is a minimum vendor required for each rom
mostly written in instruction in OP
u can flash any newer vendor ( except for , i would say, bad / broken vendors)= (rom/vendor incompatibility)
for PE u can use 25/ vendor, or later ( some of those newer vendors are incompatible.. just skip them .. .( trial/error here on xda)
* if u r encrypted u flash newer vendor only, UNLESS u
1. have modified system or
2 . used modified vendor
3. nonencrypted..
then u have to flash DFE after the newer vendor to prevent forced encryption

It's the same as this zip in attachment? I solved same bootloop problem with that... so now I have flashed Global ROM without problem, BUT with TWRP I can't use incremental (small) update, I have to flash all (bigger) ROM every week... I hope ZCX will arrive also on Redmi3!

This thread is for those people who are commenting in many rom threads i.e. volte is not working ...
So here is a fix for this
Steps
-take backup of all your important data
-flash fastboot rom of any miui version
-after that if any update available install that update
-use miui rom for day (optional)
-after that flash any rom but remember before first flashing wipe internal tooo...
I was facing the same problem but after following these steps
I'm getting volte in all roms which supports it....
Hit thanks button if it helps :victory:
We all know that lol? we want a patch as some has problems to flash fastboot ROM and I done it but after flashing magisk V16.0 voLTE gone again now waiting for nurujjamans patch

I have tried many here are some e.g. Rr, Aosip, Crdroid, Aex & etc., But Aex is the only rom on which i'm getting VOLTE support, i have tried each & every volte fixes post on xda for Redmi 3s prime (land). Followed all flashing step e.g. wiping system, data, cache, dalvik cache ; flashing gapps before rom or after rom. Cross verified apn, phone & many other settings as well, but hard luck didn't got VOLTE as many other users are getting VOLTE support on all of these roms. Is there any other way to fix the issue, please reply if any one have some fixes with them

What is your process clean installation in treble roms?
change name apn to internet
I'm on resurrection remix rom right now so i can't guarantee about other roms but this method works on this rom. All you have to do is do not add secure boot while setting up your device for the first time. It encrypts your device. If you already did it than you have to first install miui rom than install custom rom. To know about the detailed process head over to official resurrection remix thread page 98.

I did try the patch but afterwards the SIM wasn't getting detected at all.
Anyways I am currently on Treble LOS 15.1 but VoLTE still doesn't work. Flashing latest MODEM firmware, tweaking APN didn't help either. Will flashing MIUI fastboot ROM cause any issue because of changes to partition due to Treble?

It went just fine. And the bootloader wasn't even relocked. I haven't installed a Custom ROM yet as I have read of some folks complaining about VoLTE not work while roaming and its my father's device. Thanks for the concise guide.
So we have official 9.0 update now, which means we have pie vendor installed our devices.
However, it seems non of GSI pie roms work on xz1 even though our vendor and kernel are working properly with pie firmware.
Is there anyone successfully installed 9.0 GSI rom after the official Pie update? Or is there any idea why they don't work?

Thanks to your support, I've got finally found a working rom(Pixel Experienced Rom)! Maybe I think the roms I've tried are all sGSI roms that caused bootloops
Now I'm trying to use gcam now, so I've installed pie aosp vendor uploaded in sony open device project(fasboot flash oem ~~~.img). However, it seems it doesn't have problem with booting but gcam still crashes(I think it's cam2api problem). According to your previous comment, it seems I should flash aosp kernel which isn't provided by Sony. So should I manually compile the kernel to make it working?
Sorry for bothering :crying:

I've never experienced the bug when I used that. Did that happen to your XZ1? Or is it the problem of the other Xperia devices? The biggest problem was that it's too unstable that I can barely use that. The network oftenly disconnects and randomly reboots itself.

Yes,my device is G8342. The wifi bug and battery level bug.
my device couldn't connect to any wifi, but sharing hotspot in 2.4ghz/5ghz was fine.
Screen colors look strange.
Randomly reboot,too.
I don't know any solution.
I only knew the methods to the image step by step from Sony's source.
Maybe we should build the kernel by ourselves
The problem you mentioned about disconnecting network, does it happens on wifi or mobile data?

Yeah, we should... I'm just a newbie developer, and really sad that we're lack of developers who can help XZ1 users, but I believe one day users make this out together. The dispaly color is because of AOSP's default display color temperature, maybe we can fix this out by touch some configs of kernel

Has anyone managed to install this customrom?
I have tried installing it but it was repeated reboots
I find it hard to do according to the instructions given by the ROM provider and has installed the latest binary .
After I installed the OEM binary I flashed the ROM and it happened
I tried another way with flash again stock ROM but in newflasherv20 an error message popped up even though before I could install stock firmware v126 pie for Sov36 and what I want to install the firmware for Globa UK v228 doesn't suit me
now I have Rom SOV36 v126 Pie which I restore from twrp. but still want to try Pixel Experience Plus 10.0

Thanks for the hint. Will add that to the OP.
I found a few bugs in Rom PE
Battery charging is not stable
Advance boot not working
Sometimes it becomes slow after rebooting
Bug Camera
Bug Mic
Slow reboot even stuck
And somehow my TWRP suddenly disappeared after Vol - and Power TWRP didn't show up either
While I will use LoS17.1 because after installing OEM from Sony it is more stable

I agree with you. Yes maybe there is something that works. But there are a lot of bugs in this Rom that make me disappointed as a holder of the G8341 because it is labeled Stable
But on the other hand the value of the OS itself is pretty good and the kernel also works well
Only in the Lib section that must be addressed again for developers
? There are things in this Rom that make me confused why I can't enter TWRP at all and I tried to flash again TWRP got failed results.
Now back to XperiaOS ( Stock Rom )
I agree with you also don't know why they marked it as stable release.
I'm now on lineage 17.1 unofficial build but it's way better and more stable.

[emoji848] There are things in this Rom that make me confused why I can't enter TWRP at all and I tried to flash again TWRP got failed results.
Now back to XperiaOS ( Stock Rom )

I agree with you also don't know why they marked it as stable release.
I'm now on lineage 17.1 unofficial build but it's way better and more stable.

Hey..
Why haven't you written on 1st post that the official ones are still in beta ?.. I told you before right ?... The rom is marked stable not the build..
Do not provide incomplete information to users and ruin their expectations ... !!!

I found a few bugs in Rom PE
Battery charging is not stable
Advance boot not working
Sometimes it becomes slow after rebooting
Bug Camera
Bug Mic
Slow reboot even stuck
And somehow my TWRP suddenly disappeared after Vol - and Power TWRP didn't show up either
While I will use LoS17.1 because after installing OEM from Sony it is more stable

Thank you it works like a charm
Brilliant. Big improvement to my phone, I thought it was either the device itself or the custom ROM. Cameras work better, WhatsApp now delivers GIFs, and performance feels smooth.
Thank you.
