Hi all,
I have an LG G7 One running the stock OS with the latest March security update. Ever since the February security update I've noticed this issue.
I'll periodically get a notification saying Credentials needed. Enter credentials for (my exchange work email). I click o it and enter my username and password and I get an error that they're incorrect (they're not). I've confirmed all settings in terms of domain, server, port, and security type. This account works fine on my iPad and Windows 10 mail. I've tried removing the account from my device and adding it with no help. I've cleared cache from the Gmail app with no help. The weird part is that every now and then it's able to sync successfully. It happens at inconsistent times of the day and there seems to be no patterns in terms of being connected to a certain wifi network or being in a certain location. Does anybody have any ideas of what might be causing this or what I can try to pinpoint and eventually solve the problem?
Thanks!

I'm using Corporate Sync for my work email, coming from an Exchange Server (2003 I think). I can set it up, connect and sync fine for 1-5 days, then I get a connection error and the only way to resolve is to remove the account and add it back in.
Things I have tried:
-upper and lower case for domain name (have read some places that think it is case sensitive)
-checking and unchecking the "verify certificates" box
-factory data reset
-clearing the email app data (from Manage Applications) after I remove the account, before I add it back in
I know there are other people at my company that use Android and iOS devices and they do no have this issue, but no one else that has an Atrix.
Any thoughts? I'm rooted and about to jump on a ROM if there is a sliver of chance GB might help out, but I need my email and calendar to be up to date for work (part job requirement, part me being a little OCD).
Thanks.
Hi
I've configured my IMAP email account in the stock Tablet S (official ICS) Email client with the default refresh rate of 15 minutes. Works fine initially but then, after some hours, it enters some kind of "refresh loop" where the email app's refresh icon spins every second and it presumably keeps hammering my IMAP server (as the WiFi activity indicators are constantly "lit"). Battery stats for the email app begin to skyrocket from this point on. Only workaround (not satisfactory, needless to say) I found so far is to kill the e-mail app's process. Then it works correctly for some time before it is stuck again. I have no reason to suspect there's anything wrong with the IMAP server I use. I've tried resetting the e-mail app's settings and configuring my account from scratch to no avail. Anyone else experience this?

Zbig
Hi, for years now (and on many different phones and Android OS versions), I've run into a reoccurring issue in the Gmail app: now and again, a batch of messages I've told the app to send will get stuck in the Outbox as "Sending" and won't ever send, even after I've rebooted the phone, cleared the cache, insured the phone is online, etc... This only seems to happen when there's some sort of an internet connection issue, but I haven't been able to figure out if it's associated with one particular thing: airplane mode, being out of connection range, having auto-sync or background data turned off, etc... Does anyone know what triggers this behavior? If it was caused by being in one particular state, I'd just avoid sending email while in that state.
Thanks, Alan
Ugh!!!! Was hoping the 4.2 update might have fixed this, but no luck. Has Google even acknowledged this issue yet? It's MADDENING!
So I tried to sync my contacts up to the verizon cloud as I usually do and has previously worked rather well. but recently i keep getting the error "Cloud contacts backup failed due to network lost!" whether i'm connected to the verizon LTE or via wifi or both. At first google was having issues sync'ing my contacts as well, but then I downloaded an app called "contacts sync fix" ran it, and google was able to update just fine. However, the verizon cloud continues to have this issue.
anyone have any solutions?
I have already tried clearing the cache, data, and force stopping the verizon cloud app multiple times to no avail.

Could not add google account > did factory reset > can not get through initial setup
Hi guys,
All was well except when I tried to add a google account this happened
screen 1
Just a sec...
screen 2
Add your account
google
sing in to get the most out of your device. i
Enter your email [I enter my email and have tried others for testing]
screen 3
Error sorry there seems to be a problem. Please try again.
For troubleshooting I tried
Disabled 2FA on google account
Removed account from other device
rest app settings
sign in via multiple apps, contacts, playstore, youtube, add accounts et cetera
Enabled Backup my data and automatic restore
Connected via VPN
Update system software
Nothing worked so I did a factory reset. Now the part of the initial setup that is supposed to add a google account gets stuck on
"Couldn't sign in
Can’t establish a reliable connection to the server"
But I really mean stuck, there are no buttons on the screen, no possibility to slide down the task bar or go to home screen because this is happening as part of the initial setup steps. Volume and power buttons work so I can turn it off and turn it on again after which it enters the initial setup and the same thing happenes again as there is no option to skip this step or skip set up as a whole.
There are quite a few google results for
"Couldn't sign in
Can’t establish a reliable connection to the server"
But they all involve interacting with options and settings which I can not do. How can I boot the phone without it launching the initial setup process?
Phone is E2363, the 16G dual sim version. Thanks if you can help
Did you restore via PC Companion?

Good idea! That allowed me to get past the initial set up and into the system. Now every time I try to add my google account I get
"Couldn't sign in
Can’t establish a reliable connection to the server"
So far I have
Tride through different apps
Confirmed the clock is correct
Disabled 2FA on google account
Enabled Backup my data and automatic restore
Reset app preferences
Any other suggestions? The other option google finds is to root the phone and modify the host file as per http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kRmW2hO-4tk
I would rather not but if that is the only fix the question is how to root this device?
I would create another gmail account. And check internet connection (wi-fi or 4G).

Try tapping all four corners of your screen, in a clockwise motion (start top left and move to the right) make sure you hit the corner of your screen. it should skip setup, then go to app in settings and clear the data of all your google apps (playstore and google services ect) should work afterwards.

I am past set up and into the system (is it possible to edit thread title?) (the way to skip the add google account in setup was to not have any internet connection) but in the system the problem happens when trying to add a google account.
I have deleted all app data or cleared cache (whichever was available) for all apps starting with the word google including those you mentioned. No change to the problem every time I try to add my google account I get
screen 1
Checking info...
screen2
Couldn't sign in
Can’t establish a reliable connection to the server
This was fixed when I tried with a different internet connection/ISP. Its not that I was not online before but that my ISP has dumb protocols that were stopping this from working. Thanks for your responses.
Hello Bitedge,
And now google play store and other google services do connect via your own internet connection too?
I'm facing the same problem you described, just out of the box my xperia m4 aqua will connect to google on every connection except my home wifi.
