You can also disable powergenie this stops automatic dimming and you can set manual brightness, plus other benefits.

Hey I've t read a few different posts where you mentioned doing this, I recall you were also gonna do some testing recently to see how your battery life has been doing since disabling the powergenie. What has your conclusion been so far? I'm on the fence about disabling it.

Definitely a lot better, battery is great I can easily get 9+ sot, speed and graphics are better, auto brightness switches itself on every reboot so that is still annoying and I have noticed that power genius running in processing, which I have no idea why but I kill it on every reboot too.

will try to uninstall power genie
Unfortunately it doesn't work even with power genie uninstalled and the service disabled.
it seems like the automatic brightness toggle turn on everytime I unlock the screen, after, obviuosly, I've locked it.

I don't have any issues with auto brightness, other than when I reboot I have to turn off, other than that it stays on the setting even with screen on or off. And no auto dimming which was a pain in the rear end.

Thank you very much:good:
The auto-brightness on this phone is way too aggressive in the wrong direction, and the fact that it enables itself every single time you unlock your phone is beyond stupid. What is the bottom line on the powergenie method, does disabling this make the problem go away forever with no downsides?

OK. I disabled it. Thanks
Now, it also won't alert me anymore that some programs are running in the background and taking up too much battery, like, XDA or Reddit for example, right?
If yes, I guess, I have to check manually the battery usage and see what is running.

You hit the enter button after each entry, right? When I first opened it it asked for superuser permission which I granted. I then typed su and hit enter. It went from a $ to a # so then I proceeded to the next string of text and hit enter and it said 'killed' but it's still in the notification bar. What did I do wrong here as i'm sure it's my fault.

NOTE-2:
I'm not a developer or a programmer. I'm few days old for the programming field.
I created this app for my personal use. Thought it would be nice if I share it with you. There maybe errors with the app as I'm a noob for this field (haven't found any errors yet)
I spent about 6 days to develop this app from v1.1 to v1.2. And I think it worths it.
Give me your comments and suggestions about this app.

No, don't uninstall anything the normal way. That's why I posted the screenshot. You have to open the xposed framework app, then tap "Framework" then tap the uninstall button like the screenshot.
Then go into the application manager page in the phone's settings, then find "S Health". Tap it, then tap "Clear Data". Go back and find "HealhService". Clear the data for that too.
Don't uninstall anything. You can't even uninstall those apps unless you're rooted.

Guys, I'm running S Health with no issues alongside Xposed. Use RootCloak in Xposed and hide S Health. After rebooting, clear S Health's data and it should launch and run just fine. The whole build.prop bit (changing "ro.securestorage.support=true" to "false") didn't get it running for me, so I tried RootCloak and it worked.

I use an app called Notifications Off. You need to be rooted for it and it will stop all notifications for the apps or services you allow it for but it's done the job. The permissions manager still works as I have to grant permissions whenever accessing somewhere new in an app for the first time, contacts or gallery for example, so don't see any issue getting rid of the notification.
Tried rooting, but I'm on the latest software and you can't root that yet

Is that 20169419? Have you been able to flash TWRP recovery?
It is rootable you've just got to make sure you have the latest version of super su which isn't what appears in the forum post on elephone HK I originally tried. Can't post links yet but I did find the correct files someone posted in the thread about the latest update. Look for a post be @new7 with a link to elephone mobile eu. Yes you can
the app permissions you are using is the elephone app permissions. if you go to settings and in the search bar type app permissions and then turn that off the icon will go. This will then enable the default marshmallow permissions to work in the bnackground without the icon. Weirldy elephone decided to have their own app permission even though Google has it in by default in 6.0.
Hope this works for you

1:You have to install the Xposed

2: Search in Moduls for GravityBox and instal it. Follow the Instruction off the app.
3: In GravityBox go to statusbar tweaks >
ongoing notification blocker > mark permission control > OK > restart you're device.
4: you are done [emoji106]

Cheers got them. So there's custom ROMs already then. Only had the phone week & I've been reasonably happy with the stock rom rooted so not really researched alternatives. I'll look into it more tomorrow but I'd appreciate your opinions on the differences in performance if you spent any amount of time with stock before moving to Eragon. Cheers.
Sent you a pn about my impressions of the rom.

Thank god the carriers are slow at rolling out updates... by the time this rolls out, the note 9 will be old.
Really, the update is not scheduled for the US and even if they do decide to roll it out, the replacements are only a few days away.

mine didn't show these for whatever reason. my note 7 is now in download mode trying to figure out a way to avoid the update I couldn't stop
60% Update
My phone installed the update last night. Is there any way to uninstall it and go pack to a previous ROM or uninstall the update?

Same here, it auto downloaded AND installed without ANY permissions from me. I need a good "step-by-step" to root/flash/whatever to restore to previous version. Not only is it operating at 60% battery cap but it's also slowed the charging rate AND I now have a dead spot on the right hand side if my screen when trying to use my S-pen. #notgoingdownlikethat
ATT Firmware to get 100% battery again !!!
