I had that issue and turned to latest Orange fox.
In my case I had 50% in system but correct percentage in twrp.

a few weeks back i tried Orangefox but it had the same issue ....

am using twrp both official and unofficial and this battery issue comes and goes on the same version.

so it seems all available recoveries are affected by this !?

[Q] Is CM firmware necessary after unlocking Kenzo? Need help!

Hello people, i just bought RN3 (Indian version with FPC sensor), i unlocked unofficially by flashing MIUI 7.1 and installed AICP 11 MM just after that, do i had to flash CM13 Firmware first?
Everything works fine but sometimes screen glitches and phone freezes so i have to force reboot it.
So should i now flash CM firmware? if yes with which TWRP? i'm using official twrp 3.0.2-2, reply soon....
Edit- solved
Flash CM firmware if your ROM is CM based at all, of course. If not, look for something in the ROM thread.

Personally I always flash it anyway. Fixes a few bugs like settings FC etc.

Losing touch after installing TWRP and custom Roms

I did unlock the bootloader the official way after getting permission via mi unlock tool.
But installing twrp and any custom rom leads to loss of touch. Boots up to full but touch wont work.
I reboot to recovery and installed the latest firmware but it didn't help.
The only way to make it work is to flash the fastboot miui rom via miflash tool. Then everything comes to normal.
Twrp is the official one downloaded from twrp.me.
Roms tested were RR, Aosep, lite mod rom etc and all ended up with loss of touch on bootup.
Now even if the bootloader is unlocked, I can use only miui roms.
Does anybody has faced this issue?
Any way to overcome this problem?
Please help......

Maybe try to use a different recovery such as twrp by zcx? [emoji53]
What's the problem with flashing other roms? Error 7?
Inviato dal mio Redmi Note 3 utilizzando Tapatalk
No problem with flashing other roms...No error 7.
They get installed fine but touch wont work on display.
Nothing could be done theteafter than use miflash and flash fastboot rom.
In miui rom no issues and touch work fine.

Have you tried flashing an older miui version for ex 7.6.7 and then a custom rom?

Is this stable or beta version?
What all need to wipe before flashing custom rom ?
I never tried with old version

It's a global dev, so not the stable.
You usually need to wipe mainly data and cache, while you usually do not wipe emmc

Why not just flash magisk

why is that? I've never seen any other device that I've used (Non xiaomi devices, don't know if its a xiaomi thing) return to stock recovery after flashing a ROM. Is it a TWRP bug? If so, I'm waiting for a bug fix.

No you misunderstood me.
I'm not saying recovery partition turns to stock
The system it self, if the rom doesn't have root in it self as is it won't be included. Also when you flash which ever rom, even Samsung for example root disappears the app supersu is still there but you need to run it and let it do its own work to get root back again right.
I'm just saying when ever you install new rom on xiaomi phones and basically any phone root is inactive until you run the app again
No bug, oh and twrp is unofficial that's why encryption isn't working for data partition.
No bugs it's just how it is.

Yeah, I know that root is removed when a ROM is flashed. What I was saying was from my own experience flashing miui 9&10. The recovery goes back to stock. Do you know why that happens? Is there some step that I missed?

If you are installing official updates of rom, like weekly or global version from xiaomi and not a custom rom. What other result did you expect?
If you are, Im not sure anymore but if you at this moment have stock Rom with twrp only and when a new version is released of stock Rom.... Than yes of course the system will be restored since it's stock recovery will be replaced to stock. Not a bug it's commen sense since you are updating to stock which doesn't contain twrp.
If you are using other rom that doesn't flash over /recovery partition, well then that is another story

Oh okay. Maybe I must have been confused and flashed the official instead of the xiaomi.eu version
How about start reading guides. After flashing ROM you have to flash fde zip otherwise your twrp will be replaced with stock recovery. That's the reason why you have to flash it. If you flash that zip you will still have twrp after flashing miui ROM @Zeggi you are wrong

Actually, what the fde does is disables encryption of /data partition.
Twrp is under /recovery partition.
And also I did a test yesterday by restoring my f1 to stock and verified that I didn't have to flash fde and after that I did reset in twrp and flashed fde v2 with magisk which worked also.
Big difference I noticed with fde v2 flashed was that the first boot was very slow and sluggish but after reboot it solved the slow speeds. Other than that I noticed vanced YouTube module in magisk worked for me, before when I hadn't flashed fde vanced YouTube crashed all the time so sure I benefited something out of flashing fde

Try flash official recovery and stock firmware (locked bootloader)
or Offcial TWRP (not custom recovery because it a lot touch issues) and Custom Rom (unlocked bootloader)

Flash via fastboot with mi flash tool a stock ROM V10.2.3.0. Only this firmware fix touch dead after bad update in twrp. Here link for download this firmware https://bigota.d.miui.com/V10.2.3.0....73c9f4b81c.tgz
Flash fastboot rom or else go to service center.
Don't flash older MIUI firmware or ROMs , Due to anti-rollback feature enabled

im gonna beat the **** outta this display

Do a clean install, worst case do a fastboot install with xiaomi flash tool "official ROM" remember not to choose clean install and lock. Avoid the lock part
After that install what ever ROM and kernel you like.
