Hi guys,
My Mum's Wileyfox Swift 2 USB cable has just been severed and she needs a replacement... what am I looking at? It's a fast charger from memory? - I bought it for her originally. Qualcomm Quick Charge tech, possibly? What am I searching for on eBay/Ali etc.
Thanks.
Just get a generic cable, the quickcharge tech's in the wall plug.

Thanks for the reply! We ended up getting a half decent UGreen cable, I can't remember if Quick Charged worked or not after that. She's since sold the WileyFox and got a Samsung.

Hi,
Where I charge my TF300T, the cable is too short... and when I plug a usb cable extension, no charge. A friend tell me it's possible that if I want to extend the cable, I need a USB3.0 extension...
So? What cable I need to extend the lenght of the charging cable?
Thanks!
Same. Tried multiple extention cables (though no specific USB 3.0 extenders) and no dice. It will not charge, even though other devices charge flawlessly even when I plug them into a USB extention cable (iPhone, Samsung Galaxy's, PS3 controllers, camera's, etc.)
However, the Power output of the AC adaptor for the TF300 is either 5V - 2A, or 15V - 1.2A (in contrast to the power requirements of the above mentioned devices, which are tailored to comply with USB 2.0 standards). Default power draw on USB 2.0 on Battery Charging Spec 1.1 is 100mA (1A), so that would definitely seem to be the problem. I however haven't yet had the opportunity to test a USB 3.0 extention cable, but I would assume these would do the trick, since USB 3.0 (or Battery Charging Specification 1.2) should be able to go up to 1.5A with a 5A max draw.
This thread for the TF101 shows why USB 2 extension cables don't work, and how to mod one to make it work.
A USB 3 extension cable would work too.
Consider getting the usb cable extender
Sent from my Galaxy Note or from my Transformer TF300T
I have used the Monoprice USB 3.0 cable extender mentioned in the thread for the TF101.
I also bought an after market longer cable from Amazon that works great. Link here:

i can confirm that the blue monoprice usb 3.0 extension works perfectly. i originally got it for my tf101 and am glad that its still useable on my tf300.
Here is a solution...

Just got this one on Ebay. Looks good and the price wasn't bad at all.

if you are just looking to wall charge it, get an extension cord at the dollar store
thats what i use
extention cord will be best.
thanks for the links. have been wondering about cable length and didn't want to add another cord to plug into the wall.
does the cable change when plugged into a PC? wife took off with laptop and didn't notice when I rooted.

Did you mean me does it charge? If so then the answer is yes but not fast. It is pretty much a trickle charge when plugged in to a PC. A pc does not put out a large enough charge via USB for the tf300 to charge properly. It would take forever for the tablet to charge.
You need a 15v plug like the one that comes stock with the Transformer.
Pretty much the only thing the USB cable is good for with a pc is to transfer data.

Hey,
I had this similar problem with my asus TF300T, I used to have a cable +-1.5m long or longer, then I had to send it back for repair.
Couple of days later I received a new charging cable, though it was 1.30m long or less. Which is very uncomfortable when using the tablet at the same time as it is charging. So I phoned Asus Support. They told me that it is indeed possible that some tablets are sold with a smaller cable. These are most likely the newer ones.
I asked if I could send back the shorter cable (which was broken upon delivery) and receive a longer one as the one I used to own.
They told me that Asus has stopped making cables any longer then 1.30m. Though costumer service had no clue why.
They suggested me to send the cable back and to include a note in the package that I used to have a longer cable and I would like to have a similar one back. Of course I was very polite etc, and it worked!
So as Asus' costumer service says : "Asus themselves owns very few longer cables, they don't produce the longer ones anymore and moved to a shorter standard cable. Only if you are lucky you can get your hands on an older long cable".
Of course this doesn't stop you from looking for other third party cables.
Hey guys. I have many micro USB cables and 1 of them charges S3 like the original samsung cable, but the others don't charge fast enough or dont charge at all via USB.
I would like to buy other cables able to charge like the original. Is there any kind of cable specification that I should look? Can't find any info about this.
Or any cable recomendation that ships to brazil (deal extreme for example)?
Thank you!
I'm wondering the same thing; ordered 2 different micro usb cables off ebay (pretty cheap ones). One actually doesn't charge the phone at all - while connected, the phone actually discharged by 1% after 10mins. The other took 1 hour to charge 5%.
This is while connected to the original Samsung wall charger.

Looking for a 12V DC charger at a local store..
Choices aren't great...
Walmart, Staples, Radio Shack, Target....
I bought one at Walmart for all Samsung devices, but it didn't work..
What should I be looking for...
I tried asking one of the Techs at Staples.. Dumb idiot was useless...
Thanks
I bought this pack about 2 years ago. Always give me a full amp charging. You'll need a good usb cable though.
Edit: can't post links, search Walmart Rayovac usb charger.
12vdc charger and a separate household comes in about $12

Appreciate the info...
What is a good usb cable considered...
i bought a 12v Duarcell USB 2.1 Amp today.
It charges my Galaxy S3. but doesn't charge the i717..
I'm starting to wonder if I need a better cable like you are recommending.

I have a couple cables that work with the AC USB adapter and on my computer..
But they will not work with the 2.1 amp DC usb adapter.
I figured the 2.1 amp would be enough.
What should I be looking for Amp/Watt wise in an adapter...
Thanks

delayed response. the good cable i mentioned would be any charging specific cable where the data pins are shorted to force most phones into ac charging, or any cable with a decent gauge wire in it. i ran into a problem with some really cheap cables that were overheating at the pins due to bad solder joints. The phone showed it was charging but the battery would drop unless the screen was off. It took nearly two days to charge with that cable. The cable didnt feel warm at all, but it had too much resistance to carry the current for the phone.
So far, loving the LG G3, but I noticed the chargers that used to charge my S3 seem to not be compatible with my LG G3. In my car I have a 3.1A charger and I tried both ports and received a red X on the battery icon saying that charging has stopped because it is not supported and may damage the phone. I know that the adapter that it comes with is 1.8A, so 2amps from a car charger should be fine, could it be the wire?
Also tried using a wall ac adapter (previously used to power Chromecast but using USB power instead) and that also gave me the same error, even though that one is also 2.1A

The one thing I've noticed with my G3 is that it's extremely hard to plug any other charger into the phone other than the stock g3 one... I almost thought the port on the phone was junk since my fairly new S4 USB charger should easily fit into this phone.... So I don't know.
Just something quarky with this phone I think..

G2 was same way. These phones are extremely picky on which cable is used to charge it.

do you know why? is there an adapter needed?
i have tons of micro usb's and would prefer not to buy more lol
Nope only thing i think is the chips charge faster. Thats why some chargers or cords say slow charging. Real pia

Eeenteresting...Stock charger, Dell tablet charger, Griffin mini dual port car charger and miscellaneous Monoprice cords all charge my phone full speed without any warning pop-ups.
Is anyone else having problems with charging their phone with a USB C TO USB C Cable?
I have to set my phone a certain way for it to charge, but with a regular USB to USB C it charges fine.
Could just be my charger port or some kinda measure to make sure the cable is actually touching the connector port.
I initially had the Verizon version of the V30 (LGE VS996) and it came with a LG charging brick that used a type-c to type-c cable. It worked great every time and the phone always showed it was quick charging when I was plugged into it.
I kept that phone for less than 2 weeks though because I decided to switch to T-Mobile. I returned the Verizon version and bought the T-Mobile version of the V30 (LGE VS986). It did not include the same type-c to type-c charger/cable and instead only a type-A to type-C charger and cable... I don't have any c to c cables or adapters so I have no way of testing this phone.
Mines the Verizon version, I got it from Best buy and it came with both cord's.
Swiped it out with some alcohol, it seems to be working better I'll update you guys in the next couple of days.
I've done it before and it did really help but so far seems better, also I bought the latest USB C 3.1 gen 2 cable.
It made it work a little better, but I talk to Verizon to replace it, should be here Tuesday. We will see if I have the same problems.
I received the replacement today from verizon and it was definitely the charger port being lose when i bought it from best buy.
luckily I have verizon's total mobile protection, lg was going to make me send the phone to then then they would send a replacement which would take over 2 weeks being the christmas season . Verizon over night ships the replacement, then you send your phone off to them andyour done.
