so, i was waiting patiently for a very long time for another update, but nothing came. it was when i was on my last straw being forced to look at boxes whenever anyone with an apple device posted emojis did i search around and see there is indeed a 2019 update. i talked to a huawei employee and he told me to DL hisuite on the PC, which i did. when i connected and clicked update, it claimed i was up to date. yet when i checked my emui it's 5.
so, i want to save myself some trouble before i ask to even get the update: did huawei fix the boxes i see whenever anyone using apple posts an emote? and has anyone even had this problem? am i the only one? if the answer is yes to the first question, what can i do to update my mediapad pro since it keeps insisting nothing is wrong with it?

Hey Guys,
So I just received my prime and I updated it to ICS. I opened up the camera app to play with it and both cameras work. But about 20 minutes later I open up the camera app and I see a bunch of green lines in the "viewfinder". It then forceclosed.... I now am unable to open the camera app. I have tried to video chat and only the frontfacing camera works. I have also tried to use "Retro Camera" and it does not work either. I did a factory reset and nothing changed...

rear camera not working after firmware update???
I'm having the same issue. I received my 32gb Gold prime from amazon yesterday and immediately update to ICS and camera update and now experiencing the same issue as your. I did not test the camera before the update and so i'm not sure if the update cause it or if the camera was bad right out of the box. I did factory reset twice but the problem still remains
Looks like you guys both need to send them back in for replacement.
That sucks. The sooner we get bootloader unlocked the better.

ASUS response: Um...yeah...some update screw up the camera...we are sorry, we know the problem. We are going to update our spec to say that the cameras does not exist. Please ignore the 2 lens sticking out from your tablet. Thank you for buying our product.
Same problem
Anyone found a fix? I have the exact same issue. I will try to restore it to factory default settings tonight and let you know if it helps.
Just to test, has anyone with this issue tried to clear the data from the camera app... settings > apps > camera
OR, try and download a different camera app and test and see and if it works. I use Camera Zoom personally and not the stock camera.
Guys......there is a firmware update specifically for the camera. Go into settings and check for updates. If nothing shows up you will have to wait until Asus posts direct links on the site. I'm surprised I'm the only one that knows us.
Your not the only one who knows this. I have received 2, maybe 3 in total.
But, I assumed they already got their updates as the moment you turn on your device, these are shown to you so you cannot miss them when they come around. If they went to ICS, they should have gotten a notice for the camera at the same time. There was another under HC as well.

Good point. Now the question is if you guys have gotten the camera update as well?
Update
I just did a factory reset and it doesn't work. Its weird that I cannot find many cases of this happening from forums online, so here are a few details that might help clarify things:
First, yes I have upgraded to the latest firmware and tried clearing the data for the camera and anything that could even remotely be related (media processes etc). And yes I have tried using other apps that use the camera, and it still doesnt work.
Second, the camera worked before. It worked prior to and after the ICS upgrade, and prior to/after the firmware upgrade for the camera. It just stopped one day for no reason.
Lastly, its only the rear facing camera. Most of the time it is just a blank black screen, but every once in a while it comes up with a green screen with what looks like the ghost of some of my desktop icons. Ill post a screen shot.
I would really rather not have to send in my TFP but im starting to come to the realization I may have to. Its frustrating because I know it worked after the most recent update, so it must be a software issue and not an issue with the camera itself. 2 weeks is a long time to live without my baby...
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Android version: 4.0.3
Camera Version:TF201-0x9900
If you cleared data, reset, tried other cams, updated firmware, what more can one do? Sorry man it sounds like some sort of defect.
firmware
Does doing a factory reset re-install my camera firmware? Is there anyway I can reset to prior to the ICS or camera firmware update and reinstall it?
No, once firmware is onboard it is onboard, it is not undone via a reset.
One last update
One last update on my problems. Got off the phone with ASUS a while ago and they had me do a full data wipe. Volume down/power and everything. Didn't fix the issue. Gave me an RMA and a sad heart for two weeks.
Looks like Ive joined the ranks of those who had a problem with my TFP. Shucks, things were going so well...
Best buy
I have spoken with Best Buy, and they are willing to send me a new one when they are in stock.... I didn't want to mess with Asus and this way, I won't need to send mine in.

Maybe if we both return ours to bestbuy at the same time they will just swap them . I have a skinomi on mine, Im going to call ASUS and see if I can avoid removing my bubble free masterpiece.
Hey guys did anyone find a fix for this ? I just got this problem.. or do i really have to contract asus..
Same prob. Here and I just try to correct it with rom manager and reset permisions. A downgrade to honeycomb doesen't helped 'cause the camera firmware dosen't go down, so there is no way to correct it, so i wolud say that the driver's a broken...
Not sure how I missed this thread before.
The exact same thing happened to me. Called ASUS, they had be send it to them (at my expense, of course). Sent it in late January, sat in TX "waiting for repair/testing" according to the RMA status site. After a month of nothing being done I sent an upset but not irate email, and they "fixed" it and sent it out the next day. Got my tablet back a few days later (roughly March 1st), everything was working fine. Now, not even three weeks later, the problem is happening again. I called, they want to fix it again. At least they're paying for shipping this time, supposedly.
i bought a ZTE Skate phone last month, and the volumn during call is really low that i can hardly hear the other end , i am douting it maybe the problem of the speaker....i am thinking to change a speaker..while the salesgirl led me to ZTE website for the update, she said maybe software problem. I had the try, and it revoers now....i had never thought the update is so useful.aha, mark here! maybe nest time, if you get problems with android phones, you can also contact manufacturer for a update.....
where is the update tool for ZTE Warp....who can show me the way to get it??
i got my phone in Feb this year..now i have SW problems with it and a update is urgently required....i was told ZTe has issues an online update tool on their website, but i was able to get it on their website...by the way...i am on wwwen.zte.com.cn now. who can kindly show me the way to get it?//with many thanks..
I posted back on the 26th that my prime had "updated" with a new firmware, at least that is what it looked like.... until it rebooted on the same .21 firmware that I was on prior.
Thread was here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1674370
Let me give you a play by play of what happened after some further investigation.
Woke up and grabbed the prime to check weather and schedule for the day, figured with all the talk about possible updates, I should check. Showed that an update was available! I yell out "finally!"- the wife asks what I am so happy about. I tell her that I am currently updating the prime to get us off of the gawd-awful .21 that she hates so much. She has been waiting just as I have for the update since having a poor browsing and gaming experiences since we got our first prime.
The prime goes through the download process- I go to the settings area to look at the build that I am currently on-- this is the standard .21- build from march. I complete the download that the prime reboots, shows our buddy the android getting his guts re-arranged just like every firmware update shows while the update is applied. The wife is standing there waiting for it to complete.
It reboots, she starts using it, says that it seems stable after browsing for a little bit. I jump into the forums and spread the news. Demandarin asks for a screen shot since he is not showing an update. I pry the prime out of my wife's hands and go to see the version--- SAME FREAKING VERSION!! NOOOOOO!
Posted the screenshot and ask if anyone sees a version of anything that has changed-- nope. Now I am really pissed and wondering what happened.
So now I start investigation into what happened and why. I look at the device tracker to see if they saw me download and apply the update-- nope, only shows the date that I originally downloaded .21:
2012-03-29 23:17:11US_epad-9.4.2.15-user to US_epad-9.4.2.21-user
So I keep digging and find out that it just downloaded the exact same .21 that it did at the end of march! The firmware that it just downloaded has a new date/time stamp from may 26.. but it is the exact same file.
Just thought I would post to see if anyone else had this happen on .21- or if anyone has any idea how this could happen.
Samsung did the same thing with their updates on my TV, I would go look and see a new date and think a new update only to find the same version number and same fixes.
I tried forcing the Tango update on my Lumia 800 and it took me an hour of disconnecting to get the useless 8112. Tried again for another hour for the next update and still nothing.
Is this how updates are supposed to be done ? Or should I just wait 3 months for the phone to realize there's an update ? (legit questions)
Notice it became available a week ago (not on the promised 27th June; also, some people are still waiting) and magically the phone and Zune are both still unaware of it.
This is some really dumb stuff, Microsoft.
June 27 (or whatever date they announced) is when they begin roll out, not when it will be instantly available for your region.
There could be many reasons why they chose the dates they have for rolling out the update.
Some of the few:
1) Limit problems, if they release it to everyone and find out after many testing that it manages to brick phones, everyone will come in and complain. For assurance and risk reduction, its safer to release it in small markets to large markets.
2) Waiting for carriers, some carriers won't allow an update through until they do their own testing that the phone works on their networks (since they will be the one contacted by angry customers if something were to go wrong)
The disconnect trick is for those who want the update asap. If you can't wait a few weeks then by all means continue wasting time to get an update you consider useless. You could have even forced the install through the cab method. And it shouldn't have taken you an hour to do it; an easy misstep would be to forget to put the phone in airplane mode with wifi off.
You may think their process is dumb, but not many people know (including me) in full detail what Microsoft has to go through to get an update out. There could be regulation (FCC), legal ramifications and all sorts of headache that made Microsoft do what they do.

You're complaining because a trick isn't working for you. The trick is not the intended method of updating.
Updates are rolled out in stages. The normal process is to wait for your phone to be updated as and when the companies choose.
@ekw: I had Wi-Fi and Data connection disabled and kept trying with no luck.
I cabbed 8773 today and it finally installed. Weirdly, the phone detected the Nokia update moments after the restart. Why can't OS updates be like that ?
That's what I meant by this thread. Microsoft seems to be either really dumb or just doing it on purpose.
Apple always releases updates on time, and they have no problems with server limits (even though there's 300m active iOS users) or carriers.
Seems to me like an easy problem with a difficult solution. The fact that we all could update using cab sender proves that there's an easy solution, yet, sadly, unofficial.
Blame the carriers. Only Apple has the market clout to force carriers to do things their way.
Hi,
Does anyone have any info or idea if the AMBER update will be available OTA for L920s with the DEV ROM? I don't see that entry in the update schedule page from Nokia. I just chatted with them and they said they have nothing scheduled at the moment, and suggested instead to go back to my ROGERS ROM (not even in my wildest dreams!).
I know I can flash it, but I don't want to go through the pain of doing everything again, including re-setting all my apps et al. If the OTA update comes out in a couple of weeks or so, I don't mind waiting, but I don't want to wait and then realise in a couple of months that it is not coming out and have to flash it anyhow.
Any news? Do we have to start making some noise on Nokia's forums and social media?
Thanks.

In case anyone else is wondering, I started getting the update OTA last week. I wasn't expecting it so my connection was very slow and I just soft reset it... Apparently, the download got somehow messed up upon resuming. To make a long story short, after it was installed, the screen lock didn't work properly: I could only unlock my phone right after it turned on; after that, it would not respond at all, so I had to soft-reset every time I wanted to unlock the screen -the other option being deactivating the screen lock altogether, but that doesn't look very promising, especially for battery consumption and pocket dials.
As it turns out, I ended up flashing the firmware, which is ironic because I could have done it a while ago when it came out, but didn't want to go through all the hassle.
My only problem now is that some apps that should work, like Nokia Pro Camera, do not allow me to install them. My firmware does say it is the latest version, and it also identifies the Lumia Amber in Details, but the app is not available.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Thanks
