Hi.
I just got my p500 that went to repair( i bricked the phone) and they fixed it and updated to 2.2.2 but im having some issues.
The phone doesn't turn off the screen, even tough its set'd up to and i have to lock it in order to turn off the screen and sometimes just turn back on even without a text or call and i have to again lock it. Other problem is that the phone does not recognize that it's connected to the pc by usb.
I already tried do a reset by restoring the factory settings but it didn't solve anything.
Does anyone know how to fix this? I didn't want to sent it back to repair because it took a long time for they to fix it.
Thanks
All p500 tht was repaired by service hav this prob, I think its due to faulty motherboarf tht they using.
So that means that i will have to send it back =/ Theres really nothing i can do? I even thought it was all software related and if i flash the phone with the 2.2.2 room (im afraid that downgrading the room will brick the phone) but i don't know if this is possible to do with 2.2.2 and because i haven't found how to root this version.
I had the same problem too after get back my O1 from warranty, really feel disappointed with the service.
Anybody can help except sending back to that stupid service centre ?
Did yours took too long to? Mine took almost a month to get back from repair and it came with all this problems.
Im disapointed with the service too.
You should hav been careful in the first place.
Its a dead end now.
I don't see how its a dead end now.
I should have been careful at the first time while was trying different rooms with different methods and that's why the phone died. I sent it to repair and they replaced the motherboard from what i understood. So if it a new motherboard and i havent change anything since and im having these problems i don't see it as a dead end but as a responsibility from lg or the company that repaired the phone and my provider to repair ir. So maybe the first time since it was my fault it would be my responsibility , but they didn't question that and i didn't say anything. After they repair it but with a malfunctioning piece it's their responsibility to fix it. At least that is how i see it.
Im going to have to sent it back to warranty to repair and i hope it doesn't come with the same problems again.
Ok its not a dead end oO''
I understand ur rage... But I jst warning other users to take precautions while messing with the phone. Or they wud also qq over a bricked box..
Gudluck with the service..
Cheers.
Thanks.
I subscribe your adivce.
I have been thinking of reinstall the firmware(the original from lg) to see if it solves the problem, but im having a issue. I can't connect the phone to the computer(only transferring things to the sd card and install or open from there) and i don't know if i can root it with this version i have now, 2.2.2.
Does anyone know how can i do this with the android version and without connecting it to the pc?
PROBLEM SOLVED
I was planing on sending the phone to repair on monday, but at the time and with the phone here i didn't want to give up so i thought of rooting it and reinstalling the firmware, but nothing worked and the phone didn't recognize that it was connected to a computer. So i kept search other ways to reinstall the firmware and came across a website that talked about a "secret menu" code for the phones and i remembered that this phones must had one and that from there i could do something, i did. From there i did a factory reset and, unlike the ones i did before by going to settings-privacy, when the phone rebooted it told me right way that it was connected to the computer. I also tested the problem with the screen light and so far, so good.
So, if anyone else has this problem(sannielyk reportedly had) what i did was entering the "secret menu" code : 3845#*500# and did the factory reset from there.
Apparently it was a software problem or something that wasn't installed right by the lg service. But so far everything is good, and i hope it keeps that away.
Thanks for the help
Edit the title as [solved].
Goodjob bro.
Cheers.
Done.
Thanks
Thx a lot to griffin_1.
I tried ur "secret menu code" to reset the phone & it is really work , now problem solved.
No need to waste time back to the lg centre.
You're welcome. Glad i could help and that sending the phone to lg could be avoided in this situation.
Oh man you saved my life. I don't know how to thank you. Thanks, thanks, thanks a lot, it really worked.
Thanks griffin_1.
I had the same problem and i was going to send it back to LG service. but ive fixed it with the secret code . Thanks again.
hey people i did send my lg p500 to repair becouse something went wrong the change my mainboard and the ime well done , then i got the 2.2.1 as stock rom
good then i did upgrade to Noijins megatron then the problem starts sometimes
if i just use power amp and want to go to the facebook app the phone simply start blinking the buttons like u would overclock your phone.
then it just reboot from alone i think i got the problem 4 or 5 times a day and i simply start beliving that maybe the gprs or the module might be done for the internet.

I bought the Fierce 2 new in November from MetroPCS. It was a pretty solid phone that got the job done. Come January I decided to check for a system update. There was so I proceeded to install. This is where I got stumped. It said there was an error installing the update. So I rebooted my phone in hopes that it still worked, Nope. It got stuck on a screen that said MetroPCS. I wiped the phone to see if that would help but it didn't. It ended up getting stuck on a screen that said Alcatel Fierce 2. I came here in hopes that someone could help me get the phone operational again, if it's even possible. Please and thank you!
Yeah we were one of the many that was bricked by the OTA update. And Alcatel doesn't give a rat's arse. Their customer service is HORRIBLE! I was guessing I had the brick coz I got kingroot on my phone. Nothing else. but reading about it it seems even people who never rooted/modified their phone got bricked. And as always, Alcatel doesn't give a rat's arse. I am thinking now they did it so people will be forced to buy a new phone!!!
What a wanker company. Ugh. Anyway this is a year old thread. I am assuming you have anew phone by now as I do. Mission accomplished Alcatel huh?!!! Well you lost me as a customer forever for sure though.
The poster Big country really is a big help. although he didn't fix my phone, maybe he can fix yours. And if you got a fix can you share what you did?
I am trying to fix this phone so I can sell it and my Galaxy ON5.
I have zmax pro now. At first I was excited coz of VR capability of the phone and it's cheap and it has huge screen. But there are just waaaaayyy too many bugs on zmax pro it really is NOT fun anymore.
Hi, somebody knows what to do in this situations? I am really without hope. I was texting on whatsapp and phone freeze for 5 minutes. did you try lg bridge => update error recovery option. it will redownload the firmware and install freshly.
I tried and succesfull, but on reboot go on bootloop and nothing change (its disappeard green screen at least). Now I think Its a bootloop problem and so its fu**ed up. So frustrating
Well i got the same green screen and the bootloop also just some minutes ago. I can get into download mode, but my pc wont recognize the phone at all. After some time it will continue to bootloop from download mode also. After some cooling the phone boots into android, but after seconds it freezes and starts to bootloop.
Any idea what i could do with the phone to fix it? Im out of warranty, so it would cost too much to send it in to the repair shop.
same problem with me please help
How far out of warranty? LG's been taking care of people 18+ months out in some cases.
I bought my phone some 15 months ago. So i contacted LG and they offered a free check for the phone. If it is bootlooping they will try to repair it for free. If not reparable the store where i bought the phone will compensate me. Hope it all goes well.
I got this yesterday while playing a game. My sense is some thermal-related hardware failure.
My paranoid side is curious about the timing. I once had a VCR that broke THE DAY my warranty ran out. I'll update when I learn how T-Mobile deals with this, but I'm paying for insurance--so I may get a replacement (and another 15 months or so until the replacement "times out"?).
same problem here too :crying:

same here since today!!! wtf never heard about it before
same here today
It's a bootloop guys. LG will most likely give you a repair even if out of warranty, you just need proof of purchase (I bought mine online so I just sent them the confirmation email).
In Youtube there are plenty of videos that claims they have fixed the bootloop issue by applying thermal paste or pads and comments in that videos prove it shurity. I am also interested to purchase lg v10 but after seeing this kind of issues i m little bit scared
same here .yesterday using facebook and then..boom...restart....bootloop....some time starts and freezes at 5 minutes. some times green screen. i enter download mode and reinstall firmaware but same story
Hello everybody !
Anybody have solve this problem?
I have the same green screen demi god handler.:crying:
When he's connect on PC, it is in Qualcomm HS USB mode.
Help us Please.:good:
Same problem here. I think it is bootloop and as much as I know only permanent solution is to replace the motherboard. But I have a problem about it, does anyone have any idea about the models of LG v10, since it has too many models, h960A, H960AY, H960TR etc. And mine is H960A but if i replace motherboard myself, should the new motherboard also be H960A or doesn't it matter?
and here comes one more ...
Written on messenger when it hung. Restarted and displayed the logo to become green.
Luckily, the phone is 11 months old. I miss it already, especially the camera
Same here today...
so, i was waiting patiently for a very long time for another update, but nothing came. it was when i was on my last straw being forced to look at boxes whenever anyone with an apple device posted emojis did i search around and see there is indeed a 2019 update. i talked to a huawei employee and he told me to DL hisuite on the PC, which i did. when i connected and clicked update, it claimed i was up to date. yet when i checked my emui it's 5.
so, i want to save myself some trouble before i ask to even get the update: did huawei fix the boxes i see whenever anyone using apple posts an emote? and has anyone even had this problem? am i the only one? if the answer is yes to the first question, what can i do to update my mediapad pro since it keeps insisting nothing is wrong with it?
Hello Sirs,
Wanted to ask if Motherboard can be affected by Failed Update because the internet was cut? a little bit of background,
I updated my Pocophone and my internet was cut off. The phone restarted and after the Pocophone logo it only displays white screen.
Tried doing Hard Reset - it displays success but still on restart it only shows white screen. Since I still have Warranty, I sent it to the store where I bought the device they will be the one
to send it to Xiaomi Service Center.
After 2 Months they haven't updating me so I went personally to ask updates. They told me that Xiaomi PH can't fix the issue so they sent it to Indonesia for fixing. Then after a month they told me again
that Xiaomi Indonesia can't fix it so they passed it on another branch on other country ( can't remember exactly if its Xiaomi Vietnam ). Just this November I received an update that my Device's Motherboard was messed up/broken because of the broken update...
can it really affect the Motherboard? Thank you for the answers
Yes the motherboard is what contains the flash memory that got messed up during the update.
I don't understand. How can your phone went to patch incomplete downloaded update. This doesn't happen. The phone is supposed to check if your update image is complete or not before rebooting for the update.
Thats a scam. Even if the motherboards is broken it doesn't need to bounce from one country to another. I think you should have tried flashing a new rom before trying with service centre. Most of those guys dont even know how this stuff actually works.
You should have checked here first if that happened. Most "service centers" have pre-set troubleshooting methods that usually end up to repair despite the issue just being software most of the time.
In any case, since this is what is happening now, I recommend that you ask for a refund instead or at least a replacement phone already. I wouldn't have waited 2 months for a repair.
BTW, it's very rare that a system update will cause an issue with the motherboard if it was still downloading the update because the OS will not update the system simultaneously while downloading the update. What happens is that the OS will download the update first (usually as a zip file) and check for errors before flashing. If no errors found, it will then proceed to update. So, it couldn't have been an issue with a botched downloading, but most likely you didn't have enough battery and the phone died during the flashing process itself, that is how most phones usually get bricked. Sometimes this can be fixed by reflashing, especially if your phone is still recognized by the PC (most service centers don't start with this T/S). Going back, just go back to the center and ask for a refund or a replacement phone. Just feign ignorance and tell them that it wasn't your fault since it was a bad system update.
Thank you! Will ask for a refund and update u guys soon :good:
