Back cover replacement (removing the fingerprint scanner) - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

So, I was wondering how to separate the fingerprint scanner from the camera glass module. I ordered different color (red) back cover with camera glass because mine broke, so i need only the fingerprint module to put under the new glass?
Any ideas will help me a lot.

[Q] Fingerprint scanner replacement

I had to replace my FP scanner after damaging it during replacement of my digitizer screen (4 attempts and finally got the digitizer working properly!).
I purchased the new FP scanner ~$13US here:
Atrix FP reader
Things needed for replacement:
- Plastic pry tool or fingernail
- Two sided tape/adhesive
Steps:
Open the Atrix up as instructed for digitizer removal, until after the point of the chassis cover. Careful removing this cover, its how I broke my scanner when it got yanked during one of the removals.
Next with a fingernail or pry tool, lift the black ribbon cable lock from right to left so its opened up 90 degrees as in my picture.
Pull the old FP scanner out left to right.
Now you will need to remove the plastic backing from the old FP scanner (for the power button) to stick to the new FP scanner part using adhesive tape. Make sure its oriented the same way!
Insert the new FP scanner into the ribbon connector until the white line on the scanner lines up to the edge of the locking connector.
Close the black locking tab down (left to right) so it locks the new FP scanner cable into place.
Replace the chassis cover piece and install the battery and test if the FP scanner is working. Then reassemble after if working...

Replacement Rear Camera Lens Glass HOWTO?

Hi Guys,
I found a seller on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/Back-rear-c...i-2-3-4-Mi2-Mi3-Mi4-Redmi-Note-/272046963773?
Who is selling the replacement glass for my phone, I have a slight crack along the lens that is causing focus issues when I take photo's,
It's cheap and I want to go ahead and purchase it, however before I Go ahead I need to know if I will be able to easily remove the piece and replace it? Is it just held in there by glue? does anyone know or have any experience in doing a replacement?
I changed camera glass on my Xiaomi Note 1 easily. You just need to open a phone and push glass from other side of holder. Replacement glass has adhesive tape on it. The quality of photos was increased very well. Replacement glass can be found on Aliexpress.

Fingerprint Reader

What's the crack with the fingerprint reader? Is it compatible with screen protectors? Can't find any information about it at all.

I'm assuming it's the same FP reader as in the S10 and N10, which means it's compatible with your typical soft TPU or PET file screen protectors. I.e. Skinomi, Ringke Easy Film, etc... As far as tempered glass it would have to be a full adhesive protector.
For example on the curved screens of the N10, all the tempered glass screen protectors just have adhesive around the edges, so there's an air gap under the glass, which blocks the ultrasonic FP reader. Except Whitestone Dome, which attaches the glass with LOCA glue and is the only screen protector certified to work with the FP reader.
But since the S6 will have a flat screen, you should be able to find a TGSP that is full adhesive, which theoretically will not affect the FP sensor.

Allegedly it's not the ultrasonic fingerprint reader, that's the only info I have seen. If it's not that I'm not sure it is which is the problem.
As the tab S6 uses an optical fingerprint scanner (as apposed to the ultrasonic scanner in the S10/N10) it should work with any screen protector
Have applied a glass screen protector to the Tab S6. No issues whatsoever with the fingerprint sensor. The sensor is an optical one. In fact, the Tab S6 fingerprint reader feels quicker and more reliable than the one on the S10/S10+, even if not as secure.
(The Tab S6 has been available for purchase in Singapore stores since 24 Aug).
But i have problems with it now.
I cannot add new fingerprint.
The middle shows a very small green print. That should grow and grow, but it doesn't.
What am i doing wrong?
Restarted, quit all programs etc efc
First it did not read my old print. I cleaned it and now it is working. But a new one....
Look at the picture here. Only a small print in the middle.

I made a new topic... But solved... I had to push much harder
Still, sometimes, the Tab does not read any of my prints, but after a while it starts working
1. I want to enter the start screen with any of the three fingers, without success
2. I do a test in the fingerprints settings menu and no finger recognised
3. After a while it starts working, every time a little better/faster.
Seems a software problem
I've mainly been using face recognition, it's rapid.
I switched it off. Working terribly. Successful make of finger print, log maybe 3 4 times fast, then not entering at all.
I hope sw problem, I have tab with very first sw version, 1.jun dated, it even have tab s4 wallpapers not s6.

fingerprint sensor and other parts

so i bought a busted up RP1 from ebay and the screen back glass was smashed
i already fixed the front screen and its up and operational now but i cant find anything for the fingerprint sensor
does anyone know where i could buy this ?

Question Screen protector upon arrival?

The mix 4 came with a screen protector installed?
There is seemingly to be a piece that intentionally left out the circle at the Top, hence making the front camera position very obvious.
I've been trying to remove it, from the sides, but have difficulty doing so...
Yes it has low quality protection screen foil.
thanks, i've managed to tear it away.
found some tempered glass on ebay, looks a very good fit, but no tried them yet,
Has anyone found a protector without holes/cutouts? I bought two sets and both of them have holes for the front camera.
Yeah there are some tempered glass on amazon, good but fingerprint sensor stops working.
I am currently using a film version now, ok but peel at the edges.
