Hi,
Since last update, stats while doing elliptical are now quite good and compare more or less with what my Schwinn elliptical give me.
On Sunday, I did my first outdoor cycling with my Pace. And results are way off. I rode 24 km in 58 minutes and the Pace gave me only 328 calories burned, compared to over 700 with my android Road Bike Pro app. And my effort was quite intense all over, and the Pace only gave me an average heart rate of 79 and max of 99. It's silly. While doing elliptical, it goes to 170.
Anyone has a similar experience while cycling?

First of all, I really don't trust the calories calculation. This is the 3rd device I have had which "calculates" calories (an old watch, a Garmin with GPS and chest band, now the Pace). The only one which gives for me a reasonable value is the Garmin.
I have used the Pace in parallel with my Garmin plus chestband a couple of times. Surprisingly the heartrate was within a beat of the Garmin, which surprised me. I must admit I didn't go anaerobic, I was between 60 and 135 bpm, but was surprised by the correlation. Taking the heartbeat off the wrist and getting it right is not easy.
GPS tracking was good, apart from right at the end when I stopped recording, the Pace decided I was about 500m away and 50m lower than my starting point, which wrecked all the accumulated climb metrics.
My conclusion is that it's generally good, but not precise all the time. So we'll have outliers but they should be buried in the mass of other observations. It just can't be as good/reliable as a Garmin for example, which is why the Pace costs what it costs - but if you're looking at trends as opposed to a particular event, it will give good KPIs
I'm having problens with heart rate on outdoor cycling too. A few weeks ago my avarage heart rate was around 150-160, now it's only 90.

Well, when I posted heart rate had just been completely wrong. Then, I did another ride last Saturday and it was quite spot on, around 130-150. Really weird. Calories were better too, 920 for a 67-min/25 km ride.
My cycling of the day and the heart rate during the exercise. Seems in the first half of the activity I had the issue and then it normalized.

Some phones are great to take camping because if you play Asphalt 8 long enough, the back warms up to the ideal temperature that can bake bread. Rate this thread to express the extent to which the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 stays cool under extended heavy use. A higher rating indicates that even when playing strenuous games for long periods of time, the phone doesn't get uncomfortably warm.

Not for me.
What's the temperature you guys get?
My phone at times shoots to 38 - 40 degrees celsius on normal usage.
At my intensity of the work my phone never goes above 40 degree celsius in the normal use and it remains cool for the most of the time
It remains cool all the time and I'm loving Snapdragon already. My last device was RN4X with that terrible Mediatek Chipset and boy not only it's so power hungry, but also constantly go over 44C all the time, record was 47C and I thought it was gonna explode at that time. Below is a proof that I game a lot with this device, it's not PUBG but still demanding enough cause it runs in 60FPS.

I play PUBG at max settings and the CPU temp reaches 47-48° at times and the phone does get hot then. On average 42-44 provided I'm in a well ventilated environment. Anyone else with same readings ?

44 degrees in a well ventilated environment is quite a bit! Do you observe any throttling issues when the phone get's heated up?
I noticed the phone's getting heated up while on Facebook only when outdoors in daylight..
Does anyone have the same issue?
Overall speed is good...
App launching speed is very nice.
Multitasking is good...
Scrolling smoothness is also good...
Heating issue raises on video calling... Other than this there are no other issues with performance.
Gets hot in Summers
Gets really hot in summers 45+. But in other seasons no it was normal 35-40.
Never rises above 43 when gaming or charging. Average is 36-38.
Hey guys,
Im a beginner at running. Deceied to do half a marathon this year. To keep track of my tranings. Ive deceied to buy a tracker. Amazfit bip sounds like a bargain with the 65$ price. So I decided to ask experslts from my favorite forum Do you know if Amazfit bip is accurate ? I live in a mountain area. Lots of hills. Does it calculate the altitudes differences correctly? Thanks in advance.
Nothing to say?
Since there are no replies just my two cents for the Amazfit Pace (FW 1.3.6d stockified).
The altitude sensor seems not that accurate, the first running meters are allways wrong. But if I wait another 20s before I start the exercise the altitude is much better. There is a possibility to adapt the altitude later automatically, probably using some online altitude map (in the Anrdoid Smartphone App). I don't have the opportunity to calibrate the altitude sensor manually.
I've been using the Bip for a few months now and I'd say the GPS accuracy for elevation is fairly decent after the first 30 seconds or so of activity (once it acquires a better GPS lock). While I haven't used the Bip on any trail runs, I have used it to track my snow skiing and hiking in the mountains. Again, it does a fairly decent job tracking elevation while skiing or hiking, which I view using the MiFit app. If you're looking for a mostly simplistic elevation gain/loss during your runs in the mountains, my opinion is that the Bip will work for you.
the biggest issue i can see with the Bip for runners is that it doesn't have a tempo/pace per km or mile. This is a common data field that is used by runners to judge race or training pace. Not only that but the data fields don't appear to be customizable.
Regarding your altitude question, if you use Strava you can have it automatically fix altitude data for you when you upload an activity.
Thanks everyone! Really appreciate your inputs! @fras23 well I would have never thought that such a simple and must have option is not there. Maybe they will fix the pace in the future firmwares.

The bip has pace in minute per km/mile, so there is such an option. This is in the default outdoor running tracking mode. In very congested human areas the instantaneous pace tends to be off by a bit. But the overall average pace is accurate. Pressing the physical button once in the running mode shows the average pace for the whole distance ran so far. So what he said is not true.

Thanks man. Since I decided not to buy bip for that reason. Do you use it for jogging or running? Maybe you can bring few more insights?

So I have done one run so far, 23.2km as tracked on strava on my mobile phone. I timed the same run using the bip's outdoor running tracking mode. The instantaneous pace shown on the bip was not very accurate at times(maybe 30% of the entire time, it was showing a slower pace). For eg I was clocking a pace of about 6 mins/km on the strava and maintained it more or less consistently(maybe dropping half a min/km max). It would show paces of 8min/km and deviate, which kind of sucks. During the run itself, the distance on the bip was lagging behind by about 0.3km. I bought the bip to try and replace my phone for gps tracking but I guess you get what you pay for.
For a half/full marathoner, the most important aspect during the run is knowing your current race pace as it allows you to gauge the amount of effort you have to maintain. Its safe to say that I wouldn't depend solely on the bip for a marathon as its not accurate all the time. Tracking using the strava app on a mobile phone gives a consistent pace and is what I would do. I would still wear the bip maybe to get some giggles from seeing my heartrate during the run. You can see the heartrate column below;there is an indepth graph displayed in further information about the run.
The screenshots attached show the runs in strava. I exported the tracked run using notify and fitness into strava. The mobile strava one is the 23.2km one and the other is the bip run.
The bip run shows heartbeat rate in strava as well.

If only gaming on PUBG SOT drop to 4h since the game has a drain of 25%/h
I rarely let the battery drop below 20% and charge more than 80% to limit stress on battery, and it last for a full day.
BLA-L29 156C432
Wifi, data, gps, screen rotation always ON.
Cool! There might be differenciation between the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro in terms of SOT because both the phones have a OLED and LCD Screen. I'm easily achieving 6hr 45min of SOT provided that I charge the battery up to 100 percent and a depletion now lesser than 20 percent.
Gaming vice, yes. PUBG is a CPU / GPU hogging game whereby it sucks the most out of it. Depleting battery with a higher temperature is one of the contributing factor to a sturdy battery. GPU Turbo does indeed help in terms of thermal dissipation but then no much can be done since Mate 10 doesn't have the liquid cooling technology.
Yep, I'm using only black/grey background, it can help a lot since screen is like 60% of the drain in normal use.
I forgot to say it was with auto brightness ON too.
For me the mate 10 pro is really good with this game. Best battery drain of all the coworker team when playing, including iPhone 8+, one plus 5t, mate 9, iPhone5s (that just literaly burn in 20 minutes xD). Temperature are good too, since it's just warm like 35-38°C, with higher settings after 30min of game. But I still don't have GPU turbo, dunno why, I don't have the game center app. It was said activating it drains more battery, so I don't really care, I play on Switch and PC, phone are just for little break and 30FPS are far enought for me.
I think 3-4h SOT on handeld gaming is really great, Switch and 3DS don't do far more on demanding games.
My 950XL with liquid cooling got hotter, but Snapdragon 810 had an infamous hot temper too.
It was great but after October google's security update it doesn't seem well (no idea why this happened) and now im wating for pie maybe it gets a bit better
And I use my phone a lot (3 charges a day from 40 to 80 usually) and never lets it's charge drop below 40%
Rate this thread to express how well you can see the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+'s display outdoors. In case you've been playing Minecraft for 18 months straight, you might not known how to get outside anymore. Well, find the door and walk through it. A higher rating indicates that it has very high maximum brightness and thus fantastic outdoor visibility in direct sunlight.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
For a phone of this stature and price, could have tossed in a better refresh rate.
I own this along with an iPhone 11 pro.
The iPhone 11 is much more visible outdoors.

No it's not lol. The note gets 300 Nits brighter
Among the brightest phones, according to the specs. And my experience with it has just confirmed it. I never felt the need to crank it up to max however, as there isn't a huge difference between setting brightness to 70% and to 100%, whether indoors or outdoors. I suppose the brightness increase is not really linear? In any case, more than satisfactory.

Try holding them side by side together on a sunny day with the Note set to auto brightness so you can get the max theoretical brightness.
It's night and day, no pun intended. The iPhone is hugely more visible.
Not only is the iPhone greatly more visible, but the Note's battery completely clonks out when the screen is bright while the iPhone just powers on.
I'm not Samsung bashing here. I've had every Note since the Note 2. Just stating what I see.
Well, some other factors may influence here, I use vivid screen mode with coolest tone settings and high performance mode which cranks brightness up 10% more, I have no iphone 11 to make a side by side comparison, but things may be different with the settings I mention, and about battery, well, a brighter screen of course will eat a lot more battery juice

Turn on vivid verses natural.
That said limit viewing in direct sunlight to seconds not minutes. I limit brightness to a max of 50% (some vids need higher). Used like this* the display will easily last many years and thousands of hours of SOT with no display degradation.
*use dark mode and what icons, wallpaper you use to extent battery and display life.

I am using my new Asus Zenfone 8 Flip the second day. I am disappointed. I use it normally as all my other phones, a bit of videos, a bit of photos, browsing youtube. Half a day battery is flat. The screen was 60 Hz. Battery settings: Optical/Dynamic. Double checked if there is any draining app - nothing found.
All my other phones would work at least three-four times longer (and I had very good phones!). I am disappointed. It is not worth the price.
Battery is fine for me, not worse than op7 before. Although I charge only up to 90%.
But in total, I'm not that happy either - the fingerprint sensor kills it off for me.

After using Xiaomi Mi Max 1, then Mi Max 2 and Mi Max 3 with their unkillable batteries that can work 2 or even 3 days in a row, I wonder how even people pay that money for phones that hardly survive by the end of the day.
Fingerprint sensor sucks too. Indeed.
Has anyone noticed that if you listen music from Spotify or youtube in background with an adapter and you open a game (not an app, only game) the music quality Will lower extremely? It Is really annoying
it shouldn't... powerusage seems quite average.

Cannot Check again, I swapped back to op7.
Now, half a year later I am on op9pro ;-)
I just got the 8 Flip and I was also expecting it could last over 24h on my non gaming use.
I installed GSam, Naptime and Greenify to try to save some battery, but I'm still struggling to save battery.
Disable 5G? Just got the phone. first thing I did.. I don't give a f... about 5g..
