Hi,
I had received an update 9.0.0.230(C675E15R1P17), since the updated I am noticing following issues.
Increase in bootup time
New apps unable to install
Very poor and worsen memory management as the apps are not killed on background even if you try to clear the memory
Switching between the apps is also too slow
Over all the performance has been ruined and annoying experience.
Does anyone else is also facing similar issues.
How do I revert to old build, or is there any immediate fix possible.
Thanks in advance

I would make a backup of my apps and data and then perform a factory reset. That is what I do after every update.
Thanks for the solution

Hi,
Thanks for the solution, although i was not able to take backup of apps as it didn't allowed me to install required applications for HiSuite on my mobile. But factory reset worked, I almost thought my device has gone were before google screwed us.
Thanks it worked.

Mate 20 pro 9.0.0.230
This 9.0.0.230 v for mate 20 pro which I received yesterday includes only may security patch nothing else.
But this has ruined the phone.
1. Facial recognition has stopped working. It is either too slow or works only once in 10-15 times
2. The home page itself stucks, sometimes I cannot swipe left or right sometimes app icons go away almost every time.
3. All apps are taking so much time to open now, I feel like I am using phone with SD 450 processor or something.
4. Optimiser itself isn't opening now. And it is consuming the maximum %of battery.
Factory Resetting is a pain. Will have to take backup of everything and then reinstall and copy data back.
Not sure what to do. Need a fix immediately, phone is almost not usable now.
Reset Worked for me

As per suggestion provided, Hard (Low Level) Reset worked for me. Although I was not able to take back of apps and I manually copied media files from mobile to laptop.
Hope it works for you too.
The recent EMUI update is the worst i have ever seen. It has completely broken the entire software and performance of the phone. I am not sure on what basis they have released such an update to the users. The phone had become completely unusable. Reset Factory settings is just the temporary solution and its a very painful process too. The patch for this has to be released soon.
Mate 20 pro
Factory Resetting helped. Thanks guys for the suggestion.
For the others who are suffering with this update. There is easy way to take back up and restore.
Settings> backup ( connect to laptop or hardisk using otg connector) > select external drive.
Take back up, reset phone and then follow above process, connect the hard disk and select the backup file and restore.
One need not to manually take back up of folders, msgs, contacts etc..

I have read the threads of Prime owners that had a problem with random reboots. I was lucky that I hadn't had this problem. Actually the only issue I've had is that my GPS is completely dead. However, I notice that after the .14 update I am experiencing periodic reboots. Has anyone else (that didn't have a reboot problem before the recent update) notice a similar issue?? Thanks
My Tf prime was working fine on. 13 (but has random reboot on. 11)
after upgrade to. 14, Reboot issue comes back, so I downgarde to. 13 again....and it works great again

Make sure you do a cold boot after any firmware update. (hold vol down and power button). Ultimate solution is to do a factory reset. Especially if you experience problems. DO not install any apps. See what happens with factory. Then slowly install your apps from market and go from there.

I've tried the reset/cold boot (using the power/volume down option and also the reset below the SD card slot). Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do I do a factory reset? I've seen reference to it, but can't find a "how to" anywhere. Thanks again.
nope, mines was fine on .11 then when i updated to .13 i have the reboot and sleep of death issue. .14 update did not cause any issues yet...so far so good

Go to settings, Backup and reset, Factory data reset. Note, this will erase all your data, and your apps, but, if you have your tablet set to backup your Google account, once you enter it again on the initial setup, all the apps will restore to the tablet (Minus saved games)
If you are rooted, you can take ths further with Titanium Backup, grabbing saved games and whatnot. Also note: If you have ANYTHING of value, any docs or pictures on the internal memory (Shows as "SD Card), back all that up to a Micro SD, or somewhere in the cloud with Box.net, Skydrive or DropBox.
Finally, if you have any apps that need deactivation on one device before activating on another, such as CoPilot - HAHA - (A navigation app, hahahahaha... sorry, the tears were rolling on that one) better deactivate BEFORE you wipe the tablet.

Nothing will work for a few of us with the new update .14. Doesn't matter what you do reboot will still happens.
here is a thread i created (for the op) is basically the same thing you are experiencing

Actually you have a few options.

The options are few if you have persistent rebooting at .11, .13 or .14. But at least now you HAVE options. Thanks to the good folks who figured out how to downgrade FW, and apply any level that works best for you (though I am truly puzzled why suppossedly identical hardware experiences the wide variations of outcome on each sucesive update. We cannot blame software installations (except in a few cases, such as the guy who turned WeatherBug Updates off) since quite a few folks have done a Factory Data Reset, with no change)
Search for a link to the thread that shows how to apply whatever version is most stable on your particular tablet.

Tried the factory reset...it did the reset, but it was to ICS and the .14 update automatically. It also started downloading all my apps automatically. I did another factory reset, but this time didn't enter my google account, the apps didn't auto download, but the freeze/reboot is still happening and if anything...it's worse. My tablet is all but useless now.
I downloaded ver 9.4.2.14 and now have more reboot issuses than I had before. Would reboot 1-2 times a day now reboots 2-3 times in a 30min time span. How do you go back to ver 13 was better than.
sorry to hear that manly..
I was fine with .11 and the .13 gave me bad battery and .14 gives me constant reboots. I followed advice about doing a cold reboot and it made the freeze/reboot issue worse. So like you my Prime is almost useless. I'm going to try and save my pics and then may try a factory reset. Which IMO we should not have to do if the firmware was done correctly.
I do need to look for the post about rolling back of a firmware that works.
Like everyone else, the .14 update has horribly ruined my device. Typing 1 email, the device rebooted 3 times. This should be a bigger deal then this! Does anyone know of a more social place to voice these complaints?
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
Just been experimenting - browsing seems to trigger my reboots (tried Chrome, Boat and stock) as does the XDA app, but just watched a couple hours of YouTube and no reboots. Did see a couple of strobing artifacts in the upper left hand corner when browsing videos.

I have been facing reboots since my first version of firmware, can't recall which one.
But after 2 firmware updates, now .21, I'm facing more reboots than ever. Let's make ASUS fix this for good.

why have you resurrected 3+ threads with this exact same post? its not needed on all reboot threads. one is good enough.
reported for other posts to be deleted. this info is only needed in one. spamming all reboot threads with this won't solve problem any faster.
good info but dang, don't keep reposting it in all reboot threads spanning very old firmwares..lol
I don't mean to spam but to reach out to everyone who is facing reboots, but lazy to search properly. ASUS doesn't seem to take this seriously at all. I gave them the steps and was asked to contact the local support instead.
Do the math, after so many firmware revisions, still facing reboots.
Can you help try the steps and let me know if it reboots for you as well? Thank you.
I have unrooted S3, 4.0.4.ICS
I noticed that when press for example data usage in settings menu it takes a little more time to open (same goes for other selections in settings menu)...sort of a lag if i can call it like that and it's really noticable...well that was pretty annoying and i dunno if that was when i bought it but i noticed it just now.
i tried to uninstall some apps and other things that might coused it but the thing didn't change...ok...than i decided to do a factory reset but before that i made a recovery backup in KIES (man, that program sucks )
first...what i found was that after factory reset the thing didn't change...so that is my first question...did anybody noticed that or is it just my problem in settings menu? is it normal or should i be doing some extra work to change it?...
second...i had no other than to recover my backup in KIES....wow....that took almost 2 hours!!! i mean wtf!!!is it normal? and i have to say that the most time was on uploading apps (around 35 of them but around 250mb total)....what's the best thing...only a few apps were on mobile when process finally finished?! so where are the others? they were uploaded, i saw it.
dunno know what to say...really disappointed about the whole process and in the end i didn't solve my first problem...
any ideas on this? anyone had the similar situation and is it normal for KIES to take so much time???
thanks in advance
Install JB with odin (It will wipe garbage and leftovers)
But I recommend flash root and superwipe. Than flash InsertCoin (Nice rom, mostly no lags, good game perfomance, overnight drain ~1%)
My wife's Rezound has gotten really flaky the last couple of weeks. People will call and the phone won't ring. Some apps will work only on occasion. The system date/time will go haywire (yesterday it was reporting a year of 1992). The camera stopped saving pictures two days ago. Today, the camera app will start, with a black screen, then immediately shut down.
Phone is bone stock. Has never been rooted. What looks really odd is that every app that I looked at this morning shows zero cache. Can't see anything untoward in the list of running apps.
And something on it is eating the battery like nobody's business. She put a hi-capacity battery in it a couple of months ago and things were happy until this flakiness started. Now she has to put it on the charger a couple of times a day.
Anyone have any ideas why the phone would start acting this way?

Did you use an HTC branded battery and back cover? There are lots of reported issues with non-HTC batteries, this could be the issues with time (battery cover is the antenna, loss of signal perhaps)
Also, when is the last time you did a factory reset? It might be time...

Yes, HTC-branded battery and cover.
If I could get a "third-party" assurance that a factory reset would not get rid of her data...
(As if...)
She doesn't want to lose anything. Reset blows away apps and settings, so that will likely be a no-go.

Exactly, it will wipe everything... this should be done periodically in smart phones to clear out "junk" that accumulates over time. I wrote a guide a while back on how to do this with the least amount of disruption, I'll see if I can find it again and link it.
On another note, have you tried just booting into stock recovery and clearing cache?

No. Haven't tried that. I'll give it a go before doing the wash & wax.
I have a feeling it has something to do with all the stuff on the phone. She has tons of pics of the grandson (at least two a day) that have been accumulating.
We're going to offload them (ALL?) to an external drive this evening. Maybe that and a clear cache will take care of things.
A link to your guide would be appreciated as well...
Thanks

I can't find the guide... it is buried in my hundreds and thousands of posts across half-dozen forums somewhere.
EDIT: FOUND IT!!! Hear ya go... It's a little outdated but it's close, make sure you have your Google account password
I am going to assume you are NOT rooted...
1. (Optional) Use a utility like MyBackup Pro to backup all data (this is a safeguard, do NOT restore from this unless absolutely necessary)
2. Go into Message app and press MENU and select Back up SMS, then save all messages to a file (note the filename)
3. Plug the USB into a PC, go into Storage mode, and copy everything from both drives that appear in Windows to a spare directory.
4. Backup contacts, if you are using any "Phone" contacts, use VZW Backup, if they are all Goggle contacts you can skip this step. (Facebook and Exchange contacts are held on the server, no need to backup)
-- Note in newer Rezound ICS firmwares, the People app has the ability to Move contacts, you can Move all Phone contacts to Google, this is preferred if your software supports it
5. Take screen shots of all home screens, and the application launcher screens
6. Make sure you have all usernames, password, WiFi codes, etc., for all accounts and WiFi networks you have in the device
7. Go into Settings-Apps-All and note which apps you have disabled
Once you have everything you think you need, do a Factory Reset via the menus, then once it completes and you are back at the setup screen, power off, remove and reinstall the battery, and power up holding VOL DOWN+POWER to go into HBOOT, then perform the Factory Reset from there as well. The phone will reboot to the setup screen, go through that.
Google contacts should restore automatically, or use VZW Backup to restore contacts, then once all contacts are back you can restore the Message backup (might have to copy the backup file back to it's original location). If you want to disable apps, best to do them at this step. Setup you local WiFi and any additional accounts if you need to. Then start Play Store twice, pausing about a minute or two between, on the second start load all updates. Now go to Google and the Play Store your computer and select "My Android Apps", and click on the "Verizon HTC ADR6425LVW" icon, from that point you can see the apps you have for that device and other apps in your library, select Install for the ones you want and they will be pushed out to the phone and install. Once that is all done run each app at least once to finish it's setup (this is important, some apps will hold the WakeLock until their setup is complete, draining the battery quickly if you don't finish the setup). Now just change home screens and such as needed and tweak.
With a little practice, this entire procedure can be done in under 30 minutes, depending on your connection speed, number of apps to install, and amount of tweaking needed.
If you are doing anything "weird", like POP3 mail accounts, you might have to back those up separately if they are not stored on the server.

Note that if you have backup/restore turned on for settings to Google account, many settings and most apps will automatically restore.
For photos, I'd recommend turning on Google+ photo upload or taking advantage of Dropbox's photo upload feature built into their app. You can toggle it to upload over data/wifi or just wifi, it gives you the peace of mind that your pics are backed up in the event something happens to your phone.
guys , does anyone know how to fix the camera issue after lumia cyan update? i updated to 8.1 then suddenly my camera (any camera app) is no longer opening, when i tapp on camera app it tries to open but suddenly back to tile screen. i searched for this issue on google and didn't find anything helpful. please if anybody knows a way to fix that reply me. thank you!
1.Try to reset your device to factory settings
2. Rewrite the full system image.
after update you must wait because system reinstall all apps and many of them not available in first few minutes (or hour) depend how long need to reinstall all apps...
if this not case, simply make hard reset to factory default (dont forget backup pictures, music, documents, etc) or flash ROM with Nokia Software Recovery Tool
tried reset, hard reset, re-flash
i tried all things that you have mentioned in your replies. hard reset, soft reset. reflash and waiting. but all things seems doens't work. before update it perfectly worked. but i don't know what has happened now. do you have any idea?
I am experiencing the same thing
And now coming on to Christmas time and Carnival here in SK, more pictures are expected to be taken. And that' sone reason why I got the phone in the first place I realise it takes some awesome photos.
Now it's just a joke. The camera app doesn't work and there seems to be no solution at fixing it. even for a a few days.
Cause hard and soft resets only work for a few minutes.
Total joke Nokia and or Windows be by having an update that totally bugs one of the main features of the phone.
I've realise even apps like FB etc reacts slow to open as well. but at least they open. the camera apps if it opens takes like 30 seconds, then if you switch off it and go back to it have to wait again or it might just send you back to the homescreen.
I had the notification for this update for a few weeks before I installed it, thinking that bugs will be flushed out by then, how wrong was I!
After installing it, the phone no longer feels as snappy, but the major problem is the camera. It takes so long to take and save a picture! I had seen that someone else having the same problem online saying it is due to saving to SD card. However, it was never a problem before this update! So what had changed? This is a problem with the stock camera app and open camera. I can keep hitting the shutter button and nothing happens. If I force close the app, the picture will not be saved, indicating that it is taking a very long time saving.
Also, everything else seems to be slower. I use F-Stop with MX Player for my videos and they open noticeably slower and drops frame. Chrome is also showing signs of slowness, with Amazon page taking longer to respond to slides after loading.
No, I did not factory reset my phone after updating as I see that as the nuclear option and want to avoid that. Is factory resetting the only way to get it working smoothly again?
mine is running without any problems, or bugs, lags... try to do factory reset
Mine is also working perfectly well, and the camera works like a charm, no delays at all.... perhaps it's because I do not have an SD card inserted, so no doubt of where to store the image....
dude make sure you do factory reset after OTA update... that's like the basic common sense since few year back.

Most OTA updates are designed to update your device while keeping your data intact and avoiding the need to reinstall and re-setup all your apps. A factory reset is normally done only if (a) the update specifically requires it, usually when there is a huge change in the ROM or (b) some problems occur after update because of the user's particular setup.
The PDTMIXM OTA works fine for me - as least I haven't found any problems or sluggishness so far. I haven't factory reset after the update. Like others, I don't have a micro SD card in my phone as I have two SIMs in it. Perhaps this is why I don't see the sluggishness encountered by some.

Strange! The update 10.3.1 available notification started to appear on my phone two days ago, but when I go into settings it now says no update available and the original notification has disappeared. Have they withdrawn this update so quickly or is it just my phone?
