Hello there guys
so i got my replacement phone after i lost my htc hd2.they sent me a brand new htc hd2 in the box.recently the screen showed up a mark in the middle with liquid moving around if u press it. its doesnt have any affect on the screen itself but it just looks bad. I phoned the insurance company and they said they will send me a brand new after i return it. i was just wondering if its worth all the hassle and can be fixed easily. also send/recieve button for email seems to be working for Wi-Fi internet only and it wont download any emails using the network internet even tho i know it work perfectly since i use it alot.
just out of interest, anyone willing to buy brand new htc hd2 unlocked (the one they will send me) and how much u r willing to pay.
thanks
Sounds like a Newton ring to me.
I was hoping that the HD2 wasn't going to suffer from them as I've not seen any posts mentioning them until now (unlike with my old HD)
Normally caused by overheating through using bluetooth/wifi/3G/apps although don't expect HTC to admit that, they put it down to applying too much pressure to the screen.
If you're having problems with the phone and they're offering a replacement, I'd take it.
You never know, they could have sent you a refurbed model by mistake.

OMG you are totally right. My original one never had such problems but the one they sent me came with a leather cover so i put it in and then put it in my pocket so i guess it could heat up easily with that. and btw how do i know it was refurbed model. it came in with a box and the screen cover and the wires. the box wasnt sealed like the my original phone
have you tried the hairdryer trick? sometimes works, do a search for hd2 hairdryer, should find it, hope it helps

Without signs of minor damage on the phone it's hard to say it's a refurb unit, and it's totally possibly that it's a brand new phone.
It's very easy for a company dealing with returned phones to accidently ship one out as a new one.
There was a rather embarassing moment for a bloke who was showing his wife how to use her brand new phone from T-mobile when they stumbled across amatuer nude photos! The staff in the T-mobile shop's initial solution when they complained was to offer to delete the images rather than a new phone!

Hey all,
I have managed to damage the edge of the GT10.1. After this I notice moisture under the screen and I am now afraid to use it in case I cause more damage.
I took out an insurance policy with PCWorld when I bought the device. But when I called up they said that the direct debit was never set up and my policy is void! Obviously this is another discussion.
But if I can't get it repaired on my insurance what can I do? Does samsung do repairs?
Its only 4 months old and it is such a shame it got damaged. Any help is much much appreciated. I have searched the forums and found topics on faulty produce repairs, but as this isnt a faulty product I am not sure what to do.
Many thank
No one has had to get their Galaxy Tab repaired?
ebay has some replacement shells for sale.. past that i am of no help... ;(
This is kinda unrelated now, but insure your smartphones and gadgets through your homeowners insurance.
I have a HTC Thunderbolt, and VZW was wanting some crazy amount to insure it, then you will get a reman phone, and if you break it 2 years down the road, you get a 2 year old reman phone to replace it.
With my policy, I get a cash payout to remedy the situation.
When you say replacement shells what do you mean exactly? Is that a cover to put over the Tab or an actual replacement to the back of the Tab?
I've had to get the screen repaired under the warranty with Samsung. When I posted it off I hoped they would also fix the broken bezel, but no such luck.
I've had a search around for Samsung Galaxy Tab repairs, but seems really difficult to find anywhere that will fix the thing!
Hey just a quick question. Is there any way I could still get my hands on a refurb touch pad @ this point due to fire sales or am I fresh out of luck? Reason I ask is cuz I'm seeing these sell for 250+ and I know they went for cheaper before. Thanks for the help in advance.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
i have a completely mint touchpad that's rarely been used with original box/cables that i'd sell you. got a new tablet over christmas and the TP has been collecting dust. only had it for about 3 months prior to that. it's been in a case since day one and has no scratches

Pretty sure what happened was HP was done with touchpad/webOS so they just wanted to get rid of their inventory, so they sold them for ~$100 each, which created a massive demand for them. So much so that they started producing more, and selling them at ~$250 not the original $400 price tag.
I bought mine for ~$200 from woot a few weeks ago, but am looking to sell it since I'm not using it as much as I thought. Might put it in the marketplace here in bit if you're interested.
I would check Craigslist frequently. I found mine for $175 brand new in sealed box (not refurbished).
Be very careful!
There are a lot of robberies happening around the country due to craigslist.
Someone advertises something that is hot (HP TouchPad, iPad, newest smartphone, etc.) for a deal - then when you show up at that address to check it out they mug you and take the money they know you brought with you. Only do the transactions in public places with security or bring some (armed) friends along.
They also do the reverse. They come to check out your item and then haul ass once they get their hands on it.

wow that's scary. I buy a lot of stuff from craigslist and I never had a problem. Ofcourse I usually meet at a mall. I bought my sealed 32gb touchpad for $220 and my gnexus for $580.
Has anyone had any luck exchanging the Prime at Office Depot? I am really sorry I bought mine there!
Why is it that Best Buy and Amazon are exchanging and other stores aren't? I was never happy with my Prime, but since it was the first tablet I had used, I just thought that was the way it was supposed to be. Sure learned from that!!
Not going to happen if you are over the return policy period. I bought mine on OD online store. I tried to return a few weeks ago after calling CS and explaining everything that is going on with the tablet and what BB is doing to satisfy customers. No luck. Off to eBay we go.
Hello,
I've managed to crack my screen (jut took the phone out of my pocket), and of course, Sony blame me for this, so they won't honor the warranty. No matter if I showed them the pages where Sony is repairing this screens for free on other parts of the world.
They want to charge me $600 USD, so obviously I'm trying to buy a new display/lcd combo online, where I can find prices varying from $150 to $250 USD. The problem with this approach is that most of the vendors are not well known for me, so I don't know if they are worth of my trust.
Do any of you have a recommendation for an online vendor?
Thank you very much for your help. I've been without my phone for one month now, and I really miss playing with it.

I haven't personally used it but try etradesupply, they're selling the Z ultra display for $204.
Erica Griffin from Youtube has used them so at least they are trustworthy i guess if she recommended them.
