Dual shock 4 on custom ROM - Xiaomi Poco F1 Questions & Answers

I have a pocophone F1 with lineage os installed.
I tried to connect a ps4 dualshock controller first via Bluetooth than using otg and neither worked. I installed the 1controller magic module but nothing changed.
The controller is seen as an input device and is connected but nothing happens when I press a button. I tried using different apps to see if they detect the inputs but they don't.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
Ps
I didn't have this problem on MIUI

I installed the kernel and now the controller works but after a few seconds I start to get input lag. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks.

It supports OTG, I have tried connecting a mouse, keyboard, gamepad, usb sticks (fat32, you need an app to mount other filesystems) etc. and everything worked.

Great, do I need something to install? Or must the ROM be rooted? I just have the original rom installed no root.
thanks

If the usb stick is formatted as fat32, then you dont have to do anything. But if it is ntfs or other fs, you should install an app like stickmount, which requires root.
And for mice and keyboards, no other app is required, it works out of the box.
Hi,
do you have any custom rom running on it? I just have the stock rom which is even rooted, but no mice or stick is workin, but even no led appears, which acutally should blink once a usb pen is plugged, or not?
thanks

Unable to turn on tethering via USB on latest CM13.

Title is self expainatory I guess.
I tried changing connection type (charging/file transfer), changing USB port on PC, turning off USB debugging etc.
Before flashing CM13 it worked flawlessly on EMUI.
While I click on tethering option now it just restarts my PC connection but the option won't toggle.
https://youtu.be/w2AmIVFtLpE - thats what happens.
Creating Wi-Fi hotspot from my Honor works without any issues.
Any ideas how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

I've tried 2 builds so far - noticed the glitch (or problem on my side - I don't know) on late August Nightly (29.08 build IIRC) then updated to the latest Nightly (4 September).
Downloading 20160905 build atm, will check if it changes anything.

If the same error happened, I'll tell the CM team
Maybe USB tether is a bit buggy on CM 13 as of now, update regularly on Nightly builds.
They will get it solved eventually.
I actually downloaded the update then forgot to install it yesterday, derp.
But yeah it still doesn't work. It would be nice if someone with flashed CM13 could confirm if it's not a problem on my side.
I love CM13 anyway and I appreciate my Honor much more now (even with broken tethering) but it would be nice to get it sorted out somewhere in the future

Maybe, try the tethering with some other ROM?
Confirmed. It wasn't working on my end either. I am using Nightly Sept-10 build.
Okay, then it seems like the ROM problem.
Just FYI, just flashed the lastest CM13, problem still persists.
Amazing system nonetheless, but something to keep an eye on!
It's not fixed yet, or CM isn't aware of it
its prblm with cm, maybe it will be fixed in the upcoming nightlies

OTG and USB Connection Option not working and showing after flashing

After i got bootloop, i flashed aosp-ex, after that otg does not work anymore and usb connection option was not showing. I tried to go back to stock. I flashed miui 10 but the problem still persist. I thought maybe it was just a bug in miui 10 since it still in beta. I then downgraded to miui 9 but my problem is still there. I tried again flashing custom rom using lineage but still otg and usb problem still exist. Someone help me! Otg and usb options works fine before i got bootloop. My phone can still charge. I've also enabled usb debugging and selected mtp in usb configuration in developer options. HELP!
Hello, could you solve the problem?
I've been trying to fix this for months and I haven't been able to do it yet.
They do work! Not so in the default file manager.

Chaire! The quick fix for this would be to use a third-party file manager to access USB drives via OTG. I would prefer ES File Explorer for that. Albeit some of the custom ROMs detect USB OTG connections, there are plenty which don't but manage to be accessed when used by another file manager. Hit thanks if it helped you!
I solved the problem. It was a failure of charging module. Change is easy and cheap.

I have a problem when using fastboot mode

I use HP laptop and when I try to unlockbootloader, this message comes after a second of fastboot android logo. I changed to Samsung laptop instead and it works fine but I don't use Samsung that often. I don't know if it's because the driver or not but as I checked, driver was installed properly. Anyone having the same issue and how do you fix it?
The message says 'press any key to shutdown'
I also got same problem , currently using Acer nitro 5 i5 8thgen version

DualShock4 controller connects but no input

Dualshock 4 controller pairs up using the PS+Share option, but my Redmi 5 plus doesn't react to any input from it. Getevent shows nothing.
Same goes if I use OTG adapter to connect it via USB, just puts the controller on charge instead of detecting it as an input device.
Using AospExtended 7.0, but also tried it in both Pie and Oreo ROMs and even MIUI. No reaction at all.
And I'm pretty sure it's not my controller, as it pairs up and works just fine with my old phone(Asus ZC500TG).
1Controller Magisk module didn't help.
Tried on both 4.9 and 3.18 kernels, no effect.
If anyone's got an idea, feel free to share. :good:

It doesn't work on any ROM that I've tried, not just MIUI. As I said, getevent returns nothing, even when it's plugged in via OTG.
hello aurismat, this is something kernel related. But I have not the skill to get into the details. It stopped somewhere in the pie roms.
Try dot os 2.4 (8.1. rom) it should be working.
E.g.: Syberia pie 2.1 it works, but not with 2.3 version. Curiously if you extract the kernel from Syberia pie 2.1 to later versions, the ps4 controller does work again.
with latest genom kernel it works again
