I am using an AOSP-based ROM with my Poco F1 and have the problem that I cannot use WLAn tethering. When I try to turn it on, it goes off immediately without error message. What could be the reason?
I know that the hotspot function has worked before, but I don't know if that was with this ROM.
Thanks for any advice,
jennix

Clean flash the ROM. If not solved, ask in the ROM thread.

If the fingerprint doesn't work and there is no option in Settings to configure it then it is Goodix If so apply the fix via TWRP.
I could finally move from MIUI Much appreciate. Works perfectly on ResurrectionRemix-M-v5.7.4-20170118-land.

It's not working for me - flashed the fix directly after installing cm13. Got the option to register fingerprint but right before I can scan my finger it stops the process with: (roughly translated from german) "Registration not completed. Error on fingerprint registration, try again or try another finger". This is without touching the sensor at all.
Any ideas?
It worked for me. I installed it along with the latest RR build and worked normally. I have 2 fingers registered.
Sorry my bad english
I had a quick look at the zip and it essentially "patches" the system to deal with Goodix. You will need kernel support as well though, and that's likely the cause why it's not working for everyone
Work for me.
Well done, great job for this.. i flashed in lineageos and worked.. i just need a more battery life with other rom.
Thanks a lot dude..
How exactly should FP sensor work? It works for unlocking fine, but on my device it also works a little bit like a trackpad. When I touch it (on main screen), it select an app, when I touch it again, it launches that app. In app, it execute various functions ("new post" in email, it select an option in menu, switches radio button, ...). Is it correct, or is it a bug? Is this really intended feature, which I just didn't understand? Because it's annoying more then others . Thx for answer in advance.
edit: So, that was it. Flashed fix and no more odd behaving. But it doesn't work at all. Neither for unlocking. "Registration was not complete..."
Trust me, it works :fingers-crossed:

Heyyo, hmm are you using MultiROM? I've seen that issue on secondary ROMs that aren't MultiROM compatible. If so check the MultiROM thread as andr86rus recently posted a twrp flashable zip to help with that issue.

if there would be an easier fix then why have written this tough fix?
only way to fix this issue is too follow full procedure
if u dont believe on it whether try yourself because 3 friends tried and they also solved it by this method
It was probably magisk issue
nathanchance said:
also @D-m-x (and everyone else), please try this Magisk build (it can be installed in the modules tab in Magisk Manager)
https://transfer.sh/YVFdi/Magisk-v16.7-1674-.zip
It includes a commit that should fix all of the weird issues with Magisk like the PIN not being accepted after a reboot or the phone getting stuck at the Google logo with the progress bar. The root cause is services crashing during the boot chain and either causing deadlock or lack of functionality. It's entirely possible that a service crashed during boot and started causing issues.

Always first flash twrp official in fastboot when u come from miui. Dont flash any other recovery.
And format data using only with twrp official. Other twrp have problems decrypting miui encrypted data.
Coz It throw error when u use format data command to decrypt miui using redwolf and fox recovery.
And if u used treble twrp and cardinal treble and any other treble rom then wipe cust, vendor before u flash non treble rom.

I have an unlocked bootloader. The fingerprint is not working on any custom rom when I tap on fingerprint nothing happens, it don't even show any messege.
It is working correct on stock rom.
I tried pixel experience, lineage os, aosp extended and all other roms.
I have tried flashing stock rom then other custom rom but it's still not working.
Any suggestion is appreciated.
Thanks

I am able to add one but same problem for another finger.
if I added second user than fingerprint didn't work.
i also tried in most of ROMs but same problem.
1. Clean fingerprint scanner
2. Change firmware
3. Delete fingerprints from android folder, reboot
I think that firmware has a problem too. I recently experience some clean flash on any pie rom that has a problem with FP at times

Tried not working.
But one thing that I have observed is whenever I add another user it works for the other user and in guest mode as well but only not working for admin user.
I had the same issue. I downloaded older version of the gapps and I fix the issue.

beryllium-9.4.1-9.0
I am using pixel experience CAF version and vendor 9.4.1... there is no touch issues .. try CAF version and clean flash it
This happens for me too whenever I have TWRP recovery installed, with any ROM (both stock *and* custom ones). I only get this behaviour when entering my SIM cards PIN code or when booting TWRP (I can't swipe so I must turn the screen off, wait for about 5 seconds, then turn it in again)

I flashed these :
beryllium-9.4.8-9.0-vendor-firmware.zip
kernal-beryllium_global_9.4.8-ak2.zip
Is it correct?
u wont face any touch issues if u use 9.3.28 kernel, only stock kernel has no issues with touch, idk if pe will boot with it or not... try it yourself, bt i am sure that 9.3.28 has the best touch drivers.

I already have PE aosp installed with 9.5.8-9.0 vendor-firmware on my Poco F1. Is it alright to flash just the MIUI kernel (kernel-beryllium_global_9.4.8-ak2.zip) and nothing else?
Or do I need to repeat the whole flashing firmware / installing PE OS thing?
