Hi,
I replaced my screen today.
I bought a full assembly with mid frame and screen included.
Everything is working fine except the microphone.
Speaker, thrill motor is working.
When using speaker mode the upper mike is working.
I checked all connections and reseated every flatcable, but no improvement.
Any clues or do i need to replace the powerboard.
So I replaced the power board, but the issue unfortunately remains the same.
Lower microphone is not working.
Anyone have an idea on what it might be?
Hi, i have the exact same proble, did you manage to fix this?
Hi, any solution yet?

Hey guys, I have a hardware issue but first the background story
So my phone fell on concrete and the screen broke. I bought a digitizer and replaced it myself. After a month or so, I broke it again. I replaced it, but the unit I got was faulty, and I only got the replacement today.
I opened the phone again and replaced the digitizer, and it's working great!
however in the process I must have done something wrong since my audio/sound doesn't work anymore.
1)Loud speaker works just fine and the microphone works since I am able to talk to people and they hear me
2) When I plug in my earset, the sound works just fine on the earphone. The microphone switches over the earset's microphone and I can hear/talk just fine.
The only problem that I have is I can't hear anything if i put phone next to my ear :/ I opened again looked around, but didn't find anything obvious that might explain wha went wrong. Would anyone know where to look/what to test?
Cheers
anyone any idea please? D:
I haven't opened up my Mozart just yet but from my experience with HTC phones I would suggest checking the contacts of the speaker. They tend to have little springs on the speaker that come in contact with the mainboard and this is how the signal is transmitted. If these contacts are damaged then you will not hear anything.
With all the drops you may have damaged the speaker itself but I'm not sure of a way you could test that.
The problem i had was that I used my sony ericsson X8 headset and the sound came out funny, the thing that was cuasing it was the microphone. Try stock headset to see if it works. If it doesnt then you might want to get someone to check it or fix it. Up to you.
So, I've replaced the phone's glass/digitizer, and after reassembly, everything but the earpiece speaker is functioning. Upon closer examination it looks like this piece:

has fallen off. It's ridiculously tiny:

Is this piece even sure to be the reason the earpiece won't work? If so, is there any way it can be reattached, or am I totally screwed?
Did you ever find a solution to this?
I am also wondering if you figured this out.
I have an Atrix that worked fine for months but one day the speaker stopped working. We had it sent it for warranty repair and it came back only to work once. It appeared to be working but the speaker 'popped' and stopped working as soon as we turned up the volume.
I then bought a replacement speaker ribbon cable myself and after putting it in, the exact same thing happened again: On first impression the new speaker worked, but then we turned up the volume and *pop*, the speaker is broken.
Upon looking at the speaker that I pulled out during my own replacement, there is a resistor missing like in your pictures. However, it's a different one of the six. I am willing to bet that the speaker in the phone now is also missing a resistor since the pop.
Hey guys, I replaced my LCD recently and broke the earpiece during the process. I ordered one and fixed it but it's still not functioning. I got the earpiece tested separately and is working fine. I tried all combinations with the orientation of the speaker in the housing. Any advice/suggestions would be much appreciated.
Hi.
When I try to open the camera the flash light flashed about 5 times and I get Camera Failure.
To start I have to tell the story from the beginning:
My initial problem with this phone was that the audio out from the 3.5mm plug was not good, sound would only be heard at maximum level and there were digital gaps/noise.
To start I replaced the part where the 3.5mm plug was integrated but the results were the same with the new one.
In the process I changed the FW always using original roms from samsung-updates, the audio problem persisted.
Then I replaced the Audio Chip WM1811AE and the audio problem was solved.
After this, while testing the phone I noticed this camera problem.
I know that before I started repairing this sound problem the camera was working, but I don't know is the problem started because of the audio chip replacement or the FW change.
Any Ideas?
This is a Vodafone PT phone and I'm now downloading older FW files to test but the this downloads are very slow.
Best Regards.
Update:
Today I tried a new camera to conclude that the problem don't come from the camera itself, it must be something around it.
I will try to remove the sound chip a solder it again, maybe there is some short in some balls in the grid that is causing some king of problem in the data/address bus that affects the camera...
Any ideas before I tray this?
Best Regards.
Hey there!
This is actually exactly what I encountered! I had messed up audio coming from speakers and during calls. Then I had the audio IC replaced which solved the audio problem. Unfortunately the camera stopped working after that. I reflashed stock firmwares, but it didn't help. Btw, selfie camera works fine in 3rd party apps. The LED Flash (torch) doesn't work.
I found out that the audio IC (which I got replaced by shady repair guys) is placed right above the Camera IC on the other side of the PCB. So It's pretty easy to mess up when replacing the audio circuit. And sure enough after some inspecting, I saw flux burn marks around the camera IC. So I'm almost sure that reworking the camera IC will fix the camera issue. And this is probably what happened to your phone also. For some reason I stopped at that point, and my camera is still yet to be fixed.
So have you had any progress with the camera since?
I should have just replaced the LCD and not ordered the frame, but I didn't know what it was. I am thinking that this speaker got damaged somehow when I was transferring the parts over, but the handset works. It just stops working when I turn on speaker-phone.
What would do that?
