Hi
I dont know if im the only one with this problem, but my phone keeps rebooting when wearing my work pants, cause the phone gets angled so the power button is held down, is there anyway to prevent that? Maybe to have it unlock to be able to power off? Does anybody know a solution to this silly problem?

Hi.
My phone reboots often when it is in the back pocket of my trousers. I guess it's related to touch screen. Maybe my ass is too hot?
This is the only situation when it reboots by itself.

Hi everyone,
Has anyone noticed that holding the power button down for sometime actually turns the phone off? like its meant to (I guess) but even when the screen is locked? I've managed to do this accidently a few times while the phone has been in my pocket! quite annoying.
any tweaks over here ... ? im already rooted my phone...plz developers help me
It turns off if you continuously hold it for 7-8 seconds. That can't happen normally in pocket or anywhere unless you manually do it.
Regards.

Don't put your phone perpendicular to your leg whilst in your pocket.
Agree.
It is also a 1-in-a-1000 case for me so I don't really care. It takes me less than a minute to fully boot from totall off.
I hope OP gets a fix either way.
My advice for him is to buy a case which keeps the power button free from being pressed.

I reckon this feature is meant to be a fail-safe in case your device becomes unresponsive or trapped in a bootloop. Means you won't have to pull your battery. So it would probably be in your best interest to not disable this feature...
but its a good if we got disable feature ...
anyway thanks alot and waiting for a tweak
I put a skinomi skin protector on and after that touch screen stopped working. I took it off and screen is still not working.

Well, hard reset may help you fix this ASUS Transformer Prime touchscreen not responding issue: 1. Unplug the power cord and shut the unit off and Press and Hold the power button and the "Down" volume button together for 6-10 seconds and let them both go. 2. Wait a few more seconds until the term "Cold Boot" appears in the list near the top of the screens and just press and release the "Down" volume button again and let it reboot. If you own the dock be sure and do this with the dock connected.
Nevermind its not working again

This is funny.. play by play of what is happening
Hard reset and wait.
I went into my email and it started deleting emails
That's a wet screen protector, right? Definitely sounds like water damage. Same thing happened to me with the original Droid phone. Power it off, put it in a bowl of rice over night, and cross your fingers.

wasn't the Prime's gorilla glass enough protection eliminating the need for a screen protector in the first place?
it doesnt look like there is any holes on it to get into

Edges around the screen?
I had a problem with my screen that was bad enough to cause me to return it. It was amazing in every other way, but the screen problem was a deal breaker. I'm gonna give it some time before I try again.

now I noticed you were using a stylus pen in that video. Did this problem also occur when you used your finger?

Hi XDA communtiy,
I've been breaking my head with the following question:
My responsive buttons stopt working.
It goes better after a factory reset, but then again. No home, back button...
It is a real pain in the *ss.
I don't think it is a hardware problem, more a software problem...
Do you think that if I install a ROM on my device this would clear my problem?
Does anybody has the same problem?
It began shortly after the android update 4.1.1.
Greetings,
Krikke
Hope you didn't dropped your phone?
You can try the roms f you want ...(Dn't forget to backup)

What do you mean, are the responsive buttons know to break?
No serieus droppings happend, just the occasionally slip!
I also have a second device were the top screen is cracked, maybe put the two together in one?

Yeah, you can try inserting the screen assembly of your current device into the one with cracked screen, if the responsive buttons are working correctly there and you don't need the second phone. Otherweise I don't know, can't really call it a software issue. What about logcats?
Hello guys, first thing ..sorry for my english. I have a problem with my HTC and i don't know if it's only software problem or hardware. Here's the thing:
I had my phone in pocket while was raining, after that i use it like half hour. Then my phone suddenly turn off (there was logo HTC and then black screen). I tried to turn it on but there was only hboot on screen so i removed the battery and there was water under battery. I left it for an hour and then i tried to dry it with hair dryer. When i turn it on there was still only hboot and volume down button doesnt work, volume up button do things like i push volume down (no previous item but next item) and power button doesnt work too, so i cant select anything. Now i don't know if it's problem with that water thing or it is only software problem. Can you guys help me?... thank you !!!
In my opinion, it's a hardware problem, caused by water. Also you made 2 big mistake. The first one you tried to turn on the phone and the second one used hair drawer.
Sorry for my bad English.

but why there was HTC logo during turning off?.. If it was a problem with water it should shut down immediately, right?
Hi all
Sorry for a newbie question.
I have a Sony Z Ultra which I really like, but recently the screen sometimes just starts rolling for no reason. I cannot read anything, and it often does not stop. I turn the screen off, then on, and it often doesn't show anything but then it does it is still rolling. I have to hard reset, and even then have to do that a few times before it starts up normally. It seems to be happening more frequently. Any ideas on what I can do?
Thanks so much
Craig

It is more like rolling upwards, like an old tv that is not tuned to the channel properly (I am showing my age here because I still remember that)
I cannot take a screenshot because everything on the screen rolls, so cannot access the screenshot function or anything else for that matter.
I have found that when it happens I bend the phone backwards a little and it stops. This makes me think that perhaps the case may be slightly bent from a drop or from having it in my pocket which is somehow causing the problem.
It is not doing it now; I hope it won't return

From what you describe it sounds like your flex cable is causing the issue.
If that's the case, I could be wrong you can take it apart or return it to Sony. I'd just buy a new one. Sounds like a flex cable issue to me
A final development in the story of my phone. The rolling came back, got worse, and then I had times where I would push the power button to light up the screen out of power-saving screen off mode, and nothing would happen. The back-light would light up, but just a blank, black screen...
I sent it to the repair center and the quote came back. It would need a whole new screen.
The cost was going to be pretty high, so I looked online and bought a whole new phone for only 60 cents more than the repair quote!
I just hope my new phone lasts longer than the old one
