OnePlus 7T Pro tempered glass screen protector - OnePlus 7T Pro (Regular & McLaren) Accessories

Share your tempered glass screen protector for OnePlus 7T Pro here .Let's try to find out which tempered glass screen protector is the best .......

Anyway. glass protectors for 7TPro are the same as for the 7Pro:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/accessories/oneplus-7-pro-screen-protectors-t3928686
Apart from the covers, the accessories are the same, so IMHO it's better to first check the OnePlus 7 Pro Accessories section:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-7-pro/accessories

Super easy install with absolutely no bubbles!
"This comes with two screen protectors, an install tool frame, a camera protector, and a carbon fiber skin for the back. I was hesitant when I saw the black frame on the screen protectors, but thought I'd give it a try.
Installation was easy. Do your typical wet towelette, clean it with the included lint free cloth, remove any extra dust with the included sticker. Then comes the easy part. I just put the install frame on, removed the backing from the screen protector to expose the adhesive and dropped it carefully into the frame. Lightly pressed all around and in the center (no squeegee needed) and that was it. No bubbles!
I immediately put the case on and you can see my ringke case isn't touching the screen protector at all. I opened the Play store to see if those black frames would block anything and I don't see a problem with it at all.
Of course the next thing to check was the fingerprint scanner. Just push thr screen some more around the fingerprint area to make sure the protector has fully stuck to the screen then it should be good. It worked with 3 of my 4 enrolled fingers and I had to re-enroll one. After that, all 4 worked.
The camera protector and carbon fiber skin were next and the camera protector was easy to put on. I had a slight difficult time aligning the skin properly but it was easy to peel while being installed.it was my first time installing a skin so I expected some difficulty, but got it on nicely.
Bottom line, for the price and what you get, I don't think anything can beat this."

It covers the whole screen, there's only a slight space on top (because of speaker). I'm using Karbon bumper case and I don't notice any space on the edges, pretty much feels I'm using the phone without a screen protector. Hopefully I answered your question.

Ordered 2 of those that come tomorrow. Hopefully, my install will be as good as yours... I've tried these LOCA installs and my very first one went fine without any issues. My second and third attempt were horrible though I'm pretty sure it was the crappy ebay protectors instead of my handiwork... lol

Went with WhiteStone and it is flawless.

How is it applying the adhesive to the screen? That's what's holding me back.

it's actually not that hard just watch a couple of videos and then what I recommend is when you set everything up just do a mock-up of how you would tilt the contraption with your finger and make sure that things line up or your table is leveled. The next tip is once you get the the liquid onto the screen you can slightly move it around if it needs to go slightly up or down or to the middle before you actually start the actual process that way you can make sure the liquid will fall in the middle correctly.
In my case when I started the liquid didn't hit exactly in the middle and actually hit slightly above the middle before I let go of the PIN to drop it onto the screen so what I did is as it was opening and spreading out to the rest of the screen I actually tilted the phone towards the bottom so to make sure that it keeps spreading towards the bottom and that actually worked. other thing I did is make sure that I use tiny piece of Scotch tape to cover the headphone speakerphone on the top of the phone as well just in case.
I forgot to add after it cures make sure to reregister your finger print security scans again.

Hands down, Whitestone Domeglass. While they don't have one specifically for the OnePlus T Pro McLaren, the screen is identical to the 7 Pro. The back of the 7 pro is different, but the screen is the same. Not cheap but I use them exclusively.

It just came today. I've never had an issue with any of my phone cases with any of my phones using done glass. I expect the case that comes with the McLaren will work. I'll post after I install it tomorrow.

I just installed the Domeglass. It works fine with the McLaren case. Not lifting.

Here is mine after completion with the McLaren case on it

I still use the McLaren case cause it's still the best both in feel and aesthic.
I've tried a bunch of cases, poetic etc all the name brands but they take away too much from the overall feel. Either too bulky it bumpy or too thick.
Still haven't found one that is both sleek and doesn't take too much away. Still searching...
Btw none of them had a negative affect on the white dome.

Is this normal? (Skinomi Screen protector)

Hey guys,
Alright, so I just got my skinomi protector. I went for that one over the Moshi, maybe it was a bad choice. I installed it and it's been 2 days since. My screen looks like this now:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

}
See those ridges? They're constantly there. I don't notice them when the screen is on, and as far as I can tell, it doesn't bother me when using the device. When off however, they're very noticeable. If you run your finger over the phone you can feel where it indents.
If I take my nail and run it along the screen, it will leave a trace, and it won't "pop back up". My friend has a Ghost Sheild on his Evo (which took this pic) and if I do the same thing, the "scratches" disappear after a few seconds. Is my screen protector bad? or did I do a bad install? Or is the thing supposed to look like this?
I have two more protectors that I can try if this is a bad install.
This was my first wet-install, so I probably did something wrong. I wet my fingers using the solution, and wet the protector (drenched more like it) with it. I didn't spray my screen though. I also took my finger and like, wiped the wet side to make sure it was wet everywhere. Then I just put it on the screen, aligned it a few times (keeping it fully wet though) and once It was perfectly aligned I took the install card and wiped it towards the bottom of the phone, soaking any of the liquid that was released with a napkin. I did that untill I got all the big bubbles out, and most of the water packets. It did have water still, but that dried after a few hours, and all the small micro bubbles went away as well.
Thanks for your help.
that looks horrible bro. I'm pretty sure its not supposed to be like that. The most you should get is maybe a slight orange peel texture like how zaggs screen protectors are. But nothing near that. I would try another one and see how it goes.
Alright, I'll try another. Did you read what I did? Is there anything wrong with that?
Mine is perfectly smooth and I did essentially what you described. I didn't spray the screen either, I figured there was already enough moisture involved to scare me. I did not move the fluid around with my finger and I was pretty anal about trying to squeegee every last drop of fluid out.
So maybe don't put so much on next time and don't mess with it by spreading it around.
It only took overnight for it to dry, which is about half what they say.
The only drawback is that it's a bit "grabby" when swiping across the screen. I really wish PowerSupport would make protectors for this phone. Their crystal clear one for the iPhone is awesome.
Yeah, the liquid dried over night for me as well. I just applied another one to my dad's phone, we both got the same one. So if his comes out ok, I'll order another one for me, if not I'll order two Moshi protectors, and try to get these refunded. I'm sure there's no way it messed up like this during install. I didn't crease it or bend it or fold it at all during install.
wet your finger, wet both sides of the screen and do not press too hard when you get the water out, those ridges look like too many indentations made by the plastic squeegee board...and do not use a credit card!
I have been using Skinomi for years, i install it in the bathroom after letting the place steam for 5 minutes. not one bubble, not one speck of dust and love the membrane feeling - so much better then the hard plastic screen protectors.

I've made sure to have nothing but my phone in my pocket without a screen protector for the past 1.5 weeks. Just three days or so ago I noticed that there was a really really light scratch near the top of the screen, right under the ATT logo. It's hardly visible, you have to angle it a correct way. The glass is really good, but it's not perfect. It -will- scratch eventually. I don't want to take that risk.
I just put a zagg shield on mine just to be on the safe side.
I just applied the second one. It came out a lot better, but I have to wait and see the full results.

Yes, GG is awesome... but you CAN get scratches. My iPhone 4 ended up with 1 really obvious scratch on it just a couple months after I pulled off its InvisibleShield.
InvisibleShield was the first thing I ordered for my GS2.

Misconception #1: Gorilla Glass is resistant to scratches--not invincible.
I developed many light surface scratches already just being in my work pants. No drops and always in its own pocket-not mixed in with anything else.
Iphone also scratched. And so did many of my other devices with GG.
And sorry to be prude but why in the world would you even put those types of screen protector to DEGRADE your screen? Great protection, but kills the slickness and radiance of your screen.

Well, the first one looks terrible casue I installed it in correctly. The second one I installed came out loads better. I feel a slight increase in fiction, but the view is still very good. What screen protector would you recommend for my phone?
Don't Buy Skinomi
So here's my story with this company.
I purchased the Skinomi screen protector for my GS2.
I got it, everything seemed intact, but I noticed they had placed the sticky side to the white card board, but nothing over the front side of the protector.
WELL what happened is during storage or transport or maybe just their crappy distribution company, they front part of the protector bound/adhered to the plastic sleeve they placed it in, almost creating a ripple affect on the protector.. I installed it hoping it'd go away, it never did.
I contacted them, they sent me another one, same issue.
It maybe be a good product, but there ****ty distributing company screwed up on the packaging and ruins the product before the customer receives it.
I used a invisishield , my skinomi didn't seem to hold up as well. But it didn't look like that either.

Honestly, just a good ol fashion crystal clear screen protector. I've seen cheap crystal clear screen protectors withstand drops and scrapes with no scratches. (the video showing its capability to withstand knife cuts is impressive, but unless you're using your phone as a shield that scenario is never going to happen)
Bottom line is that both will protect your screen from scratches but neither will protect it from cracks... so it all boils down to preference

You can pick one up in the Verizon stores, I'm not sure of the hardness rating, I like the feel, it's rounded, does the job and looks good. It's about 25 bucks, can get them cheaper online but if you need one ASAP, pick one up in the verizon store, they'll install it as well so if they mess up have them do it again free of charge.
But out of all the reviews, the best one seems to be by iloome.

That one looks nice, I really like the MIME Feather Glass since it is only .15mm thick.
I'm using the Spiegen - the top of the line one.
It works great so far and fits the Spiegn Sim armour vieww case with no problem.
While I like a good deal too, I don't understand that we buy a VERY expensive Note 3 and then try and cut corners with the Glass and case.
I wish I could use one. On day one, I started with the Verizon tempered glass screen protector and I loved the feel of it, but over a few days time, the top right corner developed an odd sort of hazy "bubble" that wouldn't stay flattened out. I confirmed the screen protector wasn't touching the frame, so I figured it was just the "crappy" store brand screen protector. I decided to go ahead and get a MIME Ghost Glass to replace it, and over the next few days, the same story. Top right corner, bubble.
Upon closer inspection, my Note 3 has an (almost) imperceptible "bend" in the very top right corner of the screen. The only way I could tell was the way the light warps a tiny bit in the reflection of the glass in just that corner. The rigid nature of tempered glass coupled with this slight bend in the phone's glass causes the corner of the protector to lift ever so slightly off the screen, creating the ugly bubble.
The phone was bought new, has never been dropped, and is in perfect condition, it's simply a manufacturing "defect". So, it's back to the regular old screen protectors for me.

Best Case and/or combo Screen Protector

So the Honor 5x is pretty damn tough:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ud1zzi8VfY
At some point in the above video, guy decides to go from dropping it above his head, to 10th floor. I would guess that in between they had a hard time messing the phone up, and figured 10th floor should put a dent in it somewhere. Which is insane.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJ9-sTXPoek
The Aluminum case will scratch. LCD screen is tough.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKhQ3wdPBh4
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePHsWx88GLY - fire cracker test
Mad props to the hardware folks at Huawei! So at this point the question is now: What case and or screen protector do you think is the best? Just a case? Just a screen/camera protector?
After watching those videos, I would say, you would want something on the back to protect the aluminum from being scratched (case), combo'd with a Tempered Glass Screen Protector.
Screen Protector :
Rely on this thread for the best one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-5x/accessories/tempered-glass-screen-protectors-t3296240
My personal recommendation: The Honor 5x comes with a plastic screen protector by default. Its awesome that they include a screen protector by default. The default screen protector has a crappy feel to it, but it does work. I highly highly highly recommended you remove the default screen protector and purchase a tempered glass screen protector. I myself purchased a cheapo chinese Tempered glass screen protector. It feels like an iPhone after I upgraded. Meaning, the quality of the touch is super nice, its more responsive to the touch. I at first didn't believe people when they said this, but they are right. The cheapo screen protector didn't come with a cutout for the camera lens (which you can get).
Cases (for scratches):
NOT recommended:
Honor 5x flip cover case: https://store.hihonor.com/us/honor-5x-flipcover
The case that comes with the phone. Junk. No protection. I used this at the start, one time it fell off the table, the case actually came off the phone in mid air somehow, and the phone case-less landed on the concrete. Now I have a permanent mark.
Standard Clear Case - https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71-+PHk2giL._SL1500_.jpg
Clear cases from my experience, will eventually turn YELLOW. I currently have a clear case, it started out clear but turned Yellow/Brown.... ehh... If you have owned a clear case for a good period of time (maybe 6 months?).... Please specify if it yellows or not. You also have to make sure that on the front of the phone the lip of the case goes over the screen.
Recommended:
1. Thin case - The phone is tough, you just need to prevent scratches. Thin cases can make it easy to fit into pocket.
2. Front bumper - I wouldn't get a case if the lip didn't protrude from the front.
3. Stiffness - The case needs to be pretty stiff so the case doesn't move out of the way incase of an accident.
4. Distinct Physical Buttons - The phone without a case, its hard to figure out which is Volume+/Volume- and power by just using your finger. A case can solve this problem by adding bulk to each button. This alone is good enough reason to get a case.
Thoughts? Better recommendations?
I have this case very good not to bulky all round good protection only issue is it ships from China so had to wait awhile

Yeah, I echo that - purchased the official case and it is a let down. Looks and feels cheap, which it most certainly is not!
Also, with any flip case, the fingerprint sensor is covered when it's open...
I've ordered the case that @tintin1892 recommended, but still awaiting delivery. Will see what that's like. I really don't want to be using the flip case, but I'm loath to chance the phone getting damaged so I'm continuing to until the shell arrives. Once it does, the flip case is gone!
The case I bought with my phone.. No issues, I think it looks great, has a little kick stand if you're into that and it's cheap! But the quality of the case feels like you're paying for something triple the price. Dropped the phone a couple times and not even a scratch on the case! I think it's in different colors too but I got the gray and black. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0198BBURS/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_uVElxb0J06P91
I went with the Tudia case in the OP's first case link and have not been disappointed at all. Still using screen protector that came on the phone though.

I had a fantastic case called Trident Cyclops for my HAM2 (Thanks Super Bass).
So i ordered a case off Amazon but it doesn't have the plastic front frame like the Cyclops did, only a Cradle of sorts where you shove the Honor 5X in it and try to fit the rubber rim around the frame.
Is there any nice solid case still around like the Trident Cyclops was for HAM2 for the Honor 5X?
Nillkin Nature Clear TPU. My go to TPU brand/type for any of my phones. Not too bulky, with anti-slip on the sides, port protections and is as slim as it can be.

I have a Spigen transparent case, and it's very awesome ! It's leightweight, thin and very transparent.
You can see more here : https://www.amazon.fr/Spigen®-Crystal-Transparent-Adherence-Encombrement/dp/B01DJHHW74
Is there any OtterBox for the 5x?!
Nilkin plus Nilkin for me. :victory:
I've been using a Nilkin glass and Caseformers combo since Feb. I drop my phone all the time, on concrete, and hardwood floor. Only recently got a couple cracks in the screen protector and scuffs on the case. Best combo I've had for any device I've had.

This case sucks. I brought it via ebay. There are two main issues with this.
The headphone jack opening was too small. My headphone jack does not completely plug in. Alternative is to use bluetooth headset.
The fingerprint opening was too small. It fails to unlock your phone 8 out of 10 times. Alternaitve: You will have to use PIN/Password/Pattern to unlock your phone aka fingerprint scanner is useless.
I switched to Huawei Honor 5X Case - TUDIA Full-Matte ARCH TPU Bumper Protective Case for Huawei Honor 5X. It's perfect. It did not have any of the above issues at all. Highly recommend. Wish they have Otterbox defender case for this phone or one with belt clip and secure.
Honestly, about the screen protector. Even a simple tempered glass protecter does the job well. But if you are really really looking for something great, look for Olephobic coated tempered glass for it.

Well , am pretty sure u gave a great answer.
Usually devices get such coating on screen. Adding a second layer gives any colour glitches ? Just asking

I did not notice any colour differences at all. I have seen Olephobic coating on main glass only in high end devices. There are few reputable brands offering those kind of.

Yes my honor 8 have such
You could find an 'anti-glare' glass for it as well. It will help you a lot but might little bit make colors on your screen 'washed away'. I wish if I could find them in my country for cheap though.
Here is the link to anti glare glass: https://www.amazon.com/Mr-Shield-Anti-Glare-Protector-Replacement/dp/B016DDC582/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501341053&sr=8-1&keywords=honor+5x+anti+glare
Spigen and Nillkin combo always works wonders for me.
simple tempered glass and silicon cover does the job for me.
Well not for me.

Tempered glass protector issue??

So I'm a true believer in tempered glass screen protector because it saved me in thousands. I bought some cheap one even before the phone came out to use until the proper one comes out. This one is just square to cover the viewable screen. I bought two of them and both of them doesn't adhere at the bottom corners on two different phones. I went online to do some digging and found that most if not not all have the same issue and all sellers showing full screen cover does a bait and switch and send out the very exact same square ones.
I'm now beginning to wonder... Is this because all sellers have same batch of cheap stuff that doesn't fit or is it because G5 screen isn't perfectly flat? (never mind the curve on top) it seems the glass used on G5 is more flexible because when you press hard on it you can see the LCD distortion in some spots. In normal use it should not matter and I guess it was necessary to make the top curvature but it can also mean that when the the glass and LCD assembly can become "curvy".
Has anyone applied tempered glass protector yet? How did your application experience go? And if you had a successful one, please share the info of the product you used. NO LINKS.

The glass screen is indeed squishy. This is expected. The G4 was curved. I expect squishy glass is less likely to shatter.

That's the concern I have. I really hope that the cheap, mocked up protector is the issue and not the screen. Top is fine since we know there's curve. We need more owners to provide their experience but may be there aren't that many who purchased the early version of the protectors knowing they would not fit well?

I got my glass screen protector at at&t and installed there, i thought that i was rid of the issue that the protector would not come up at the edges but a week and a half it came up and now i removed the protector and clean it and cleaned the screen and used some clean water to put it on and then i had no issue about the protector coming off at the edges
There's another thread: Here where the same issue is experienced.
I wonder if this is with all G5s or is this just the Titan color that has this issue as some user mention they have Silver devices without the issue.
Tried 3 different suppliers for tempered glass protector and they all did this. I think it's the screen not the protectors.
I installed a cheap square screen protector and am waiting for a "real" one to show up. Currently on order, but taking longer than they originally said. With the one I have on now, I found that you have to install is slightly above the bottom of the screen to be sure it doesn't interfere with the lower, removable pieces of the phone. When I put it on just slightly higher than I wanted to it fit OK. It took me a bunch of tries and the lower right corner has a small bubble in it, but I attributed that to my several installation attempts. The three other corners are fine.
Just got a Yootech Premium glass protector on Amazon last week. It's curved for the tip, so it's a film glasses protector. No issues whatsoever. Fit/alignment is perfect. They even painted the to pay black, so there's no light bleed or distortion there. I'm really happy with it.
I mean, it's a very simple thing to do accidentally. I feel like it's always a 50/50 shot when I try to put down a screen protector bubble-free.
I haven't tried a protector on the G5, but I did have one on the very curved G4 with no issues.

Same product same results here. I waited for yootech to replace the cheap glass protector I bought at launch. I had great results on the G4 with this brand.
+1 on the Yootech. I got one and it is great. At first it looked like there was a light film in one spot between the protector and screen, but it went away in a couple hours.

Same problem ..I used Ringke screen protector
Hello everyone,
It's my first purchase of an LG device as I've always been HTC. The G5 is an amazing phone, hats off to LG for doing a great job. However, it's the worst phone when it comes to fitting a screen protector. I've purchased 5 so far. First 3 turned out to be a more bespoke cut glass at the top section to fit around the camera and underneath the speaker (all happened to be same brand from 3 different sellers, but they all had the same issue. Top section wouldn't adhere and bottom right corner too.
Bought two square protectors that just fit the visible screen and that's slightly better but small areas won't adhere, again top bottom right being the main culprit. Luckily I've been able to get refunded for the poorly fitting protectors but I'm getting fed up of having to change them every few days. I've never had such issue with fitting a protector as I normally get it spot on first time.
Anyone know where I can get a proper one, cut correctly and adhere to the LG's fussy screen?
But do any of them fit with the Spigen Style Armor slide on case?? That is the burning question.
I have a gold G5 and tried 3 tempered glasses in the mall but none fitted my phone. The corners below and above has bubbles lifting the tempered glass. It is now my problem where to find a good protector.

Hi, thanks for the help! But i cannot sign up on this amazon page because it's in german not all are being translated into english
Screen is curved
Just wanted to update you there is not a screen protector that is glass which fits the LG G5 because the screen is curved slightly in the bottom corners. This is an issue which the accessory manufacturers are aware but apparently have no intentions of resolving . So just to be perfectly clear you will not ever find a screen protector that does not bubble on the bottom right and left hand corner unless it is a plastic screen protector.

Best S8 screen protector

I wanted to create a thread to collect everyone's findings and opinions on what the best screen protector for the S8 is.
From what I have found there are:
- TPU dry application
- TPU wet application
- tempered glass glue only at sides
Post what you think the best protector is for feel, sensitivity and coverage. Also how compatable with cases and ease of application.
So far I've tried the amFilm from techmatte. Glue is viable around the sides and the touch sensitivity is reduced after insalll.
Master List - Tempered Glass
amFilm By Techmatte
Tempered glass, glue round the outside and top of the protector only. dot matrix on the screen for better sensitivity.
Glass feels nice but leaves loads of fingerprints and it is really reflective to light. Reduced sensitivity especially at the top. Works well with cases as its not quite full coverage.
Master List - TPU Films
yootech
Wet apply. Went on easy, works well with case no lifting. Feels nice.
Techgear ghostshield
Dry install. Kinda hard install as top part has separate protective film to the rest so it's hard to remove tbe main bit without getting dust under the protector. Sticks to the sides well. Clarity is bad, makes the phone look greasy /oily. Touch sensitivity is unaffected.
I bought these and it went on really easy, no bubbles and doesn't lift around the edge like a previous protector I used did when I put my Spigen Thin case on, feels ok to use too
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071R5P7QN/ref=pe_385721_37986871_TE_item
EDIT - This is the previous protector I used, I found it reasonable to apply but lifted around the edges when putting my case on

Forget yootech, it works well the first 1-2 days but then you have to repress on the borders every day because the TPU cover lift it, and now after 10 days some parts are not gluing anymore specially the bottom corners.
Feeling is plasticky and a bit sticky, not as good as ''dry'' films

Actually really like the feel. Doesn't feel too rubbery. It's not glass but it's quite smooth as long as you don't dig your nails in. I forget it's there a lot. Took me a while to apply and get it right but not had any edge lifting. I am using a case so that may help.

I can whole heartedly recommend these ones:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B06XY7K875/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They are the film variety, but PET film, so no rubbery feel. These also benefit from being slightly curved at the edges (much like the TGSP's) so fit perfectly, with no lift. Have been using mine for 3 weeks now and its still firmly stuck on all edges, NO LIFTING!! And best of all, they work with cases too. Currently using it with a slim case, but it fits my Spiegen Neo Hybrid with no problems. And did I mention you get 3 in a pack. *drops the mic....walks off stage*
All jokes aside, these are a really good solution for screen protection with very few drawbacks.
P.S I do not work for this company nor is this recommendation being endorsed. Just passing on some invaluable knowledge to hopefully prevent someone else from buying almost every single variety of screen protector available.....not that I did that.....much.
honestly this screen protector thing is so long winded, and only for this phone as for all the others its been easy
there should be a section for uk screen protectors as we cant buy certain ones like the whitestonez version
finally got hold of this phone and cant decide what protector to get, has to be a good one as the screen is what it all is about
