Where did the AOD notifications go? - Huawei Mate 20 Pro Questions & Answers

So i was reading all over internet how we are not supposed to have AOD notifications, just a clock. But the other I checked my phone and I saw instagram and wsp icon on AOD and then it banished never saw it again, tought I was hallucinating but today in the morning I saw my AOD full of notifications , so what the hell is happening? do we have them in emui 9.1? and if so why i almost never have them and sometimes I do
EDIT: Fixed by wiping the system cache in recovery

nevermind, I cleaned the system cache in recovery and now it works perfect, all app notifications now appear on AOD

Thanks, I was experiencing the same problem, I haven't investigated because I don't use aod frequently, I tried wiping cache and now works perfectly

Need Settings Testers

This adds a 3d setting to settings>display
i'd like to know if it works because i dont have an evo 3d currently with me to test on
just flash this zip in recovery and wipe cache and dalvik cache Thanks
And id appreciate some fast feedback because id like to include this in my rom that ill release later today
http://www.multiupload.com/GVV1XYP5XA
no 3d setting. put a bunch of new names for the settings like data roaming instead of wireless settings
personal data instead of privacy.
hope that helps
really no new settings?
in settings>display that says 3d homescreen?
I can tell you in a minute, im booting it back up now!
Deleted my settings, i have no settings now!
Forgot to delete cache and dalvike before flash and settings got deleted. Re-wiped then flashed again, and it worked. I turned settings on and home screen was 3d BUT the calibration seemed off it wouldn't return to normal when I stopped moving phone

SHOTS FIRED!!! From 3 Dimensions!
First try no settings...second try seems as if it worked but is off. I tried taking a screen shot but it doesn't come out good enough to see. Very close though...good work
*update, I tried calibrating and it seems better but not 100%. I shall try some more and see what happens then update post.
**update, ummm I have no settings now. All I did was power down completely and reboot. Now I tap settings and nothing happens. From the pull down bar I hit All Settings and get the below error.
The application Status Bar (process com. android.systemui) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
Can't seem to get my settings back :-(
Ive redone this 3 times and still no settings, but im getting an error, no sd-ext when i wipe dalvik

Hey... I noticed this in the update script...
mount("ext4", "EMMC", "/dev/block/mmcblk0p23", "/system")
i just so happen to have my SD partitioned with an ext4, alongside with a 1gig swap partition [irrelevant]. idk just saying, might be helpful to have the ext4 right?
so i wiped both caches, flash, and wiped both again... boot up, and i have no settings (click menu>settings, doesn't work)... I checked the app drawer, and also, no settings there. So then I used root explorer to delete Settings.apk from /system/app... and then i added in your copy... Unfortunately, I forgot to enable non-market installs (fresh rom install). So, I'm reflashing the rom, and then you zip....
Works for me...Did you include a setting for the dock in it?
EDIT: I Turned it off because it is annoying when it just moves randomly as i move my phone when i dont want it to lol

Need Help - CM9,brightness app/alarm app

So i flashed the stable cm 9 yesterday. Now I like changing my brightness using a slider(not the button with preset values) since cm9 dont have that I installed "Brightness Level" it worked fine first time, now today when i tried to change it via brightness level no effect,so i tried another app "Slider widget" same result no effect so i tried bunch of others apps same result no effect. Also i had the same prob on my previous Slim ics rom but then the app didnot even work once and also since i was able to get a slider brightness changer in notifications i didnt bother with it.
Can anyone tell me what i can do or if any other app that i can use or can i get a slider in notification bar?
Also the same problem occurred with alarm app- "Alarm droid" worked fine once then suddenly stopped working today when i tried to stop my alarm the app wont let me so then i did the same thing as above tried other apps same result not working properly.
Solutions which i tired - Different apps, rom restore: result no change.

[H] Problems with brightness

Hi all! I'm having some brightness issues on my Razr i and any help would be great!
I'm on stock 4.1.2 and was using Power Toggles brightness slider to change the brightness, but suddenly, with no changes on the phone, the brigthness level would change only after turning screen off/on. But the problem is not related to the app I think, because even auto brightness isn't working properly... I mean, when it has to get brighter, it works, but when it has to dim, again only if I turn off/on the screen.
Does anyone know what could be causing it?
Thanks in advance!
Sorry for the bad english.

Although you don't think the app is causing the brightness problem's I would recommend uninstalling it for troubleshooting purposes and seeing if after you have uninstalled the app and rebooted the phone if after some time the problem persists. This way we can rule out if the app is or isn't causing the problem.

Thanks for the reply. I did uninstall it and the problem remains... I installed volume slider (which has a brightness slider too) and the same happens: non "real time" brightness changing and the auto brightness still doesn't work properly... =/

That is odd, I would recommend booting into recovery and performing a factory reset and then see if that fixes your problem.

This is what I was afraid of... =/
I will just wait a little longer to see if anybody faced this issue before. I'm pretty sure a factory reset will do (since it started to act like this all of a sudden) but I want to find the cause so it won't happen again or, if it happens, I won't need to do a factory reset...
It's weird... what could make this issue appear? =/

One possible way of figuring out what is causing this issue to happen is to generate a logcat when you are adjusting the brightness settings and see if the log reports any background processes that are causing errors with the brightness control.

Thanks for helping me!
I never generated a logcat before. So I installed CatLog from Store and generated a logcat doing the following:
1) Set brightness to auto
2) Put the phone under a lamp
3) Turned of all the lights: the brightness didn't change
4) Turned off and on the screen: when the screen turned on, the brightness was already on a lower level
The logcat is pretty messed... it shouldn't be like that right? =/
Is this helpful?

From looking at the logcat there is a lot of errors and warning messages with loading certain library files and Android runtime services that relate to power and screen brightness sensing. Another peculiar thing I noticed was that NFC seemed to be generating a couple error messages as well. Overall you were definitely right about it not being a normal log in this situation, I also like your testing methodology :good:.

Well, so any suggestion? Or just a factory reset would do?

You could also try re-flashing the stock ROM to see if that fixes it, another suggestion that could possibly work is running a fix permissions utlity.
Reflashed stock rom and reinstalled all my apps. Everything was fine. Went to bed and woke up, the same problem with power toggles reappeared...
EDIT: found what was causing it! It is the latest version of Floating Notifications (when show on lockscreen is enabled)!
Thanks a lot shimp!

That's wicked bizarre that even after all those things the problem still persists. You could try bringing it in to Verizon to see if they can do anything otherwise a hardware issue may have arisen.

For me led is still working with b330. Perhaps you have to factory reset... Don't know if it helps.
from where did you come? b320 beta?
take the full image of b330 (1,5gb) from hihonor and not the update.zip
do a factory reset and then install the update
then everything should work
No I was on B180. The problem is with message system app, with messenger google led works fine.
And I did a factory reset after the update and still the same.
Now I can't find where I can hide apps and use visitor mode like before...
I had same problem coming from 320 ota. Factory reset and clean flash of 330 fixed these issues for me )
Sent from my PLK-L01 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I did factory reset and clean flash, but LED still not working... Unfortunately Honor Poland isn't helpful and doesn't answer for mails.
Don't worry. Things didn't work for me so I reflashed and then other things stopped working. Cheap honor Rom crap!

Question Pixel 6 sometimes lift to wake goes into AOD type mode

Do you guys experience same thing? Most of the time it shows normal lockscreen, but sometimes it's showing an AOD look (I have AOD off). would prefer to use this second look tbh.
same problem for me, hope this will be fixed in next update
Having the same issue here. Glad I'm not the only user with this problem. Try writing a descriptive report to Google and send them some feedback so they can hopefully fix it.

I'm so grateful for this ADB method. This is such an annoying bug. Thanks @HSD-Pilot for sharing this solution.
Has anyone found an ADB method for forcing the lockscreen clock to stay small? I use a persistent weather notification to keep the clock small, but I'd love to find a permanent fix for this. I really hate the big clock.
