2nd user missing settings - any way to enable it? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I have rooted Oneplus 6t with Android 10.
I need 2nd user account but for some reason many options (like button config, gestures etc) are missing.
I knew that some admin options are disabled on non-admin users, but these settings are essential.
Now, here's my question - is there any way to enable missing positions from setting menu? Additional line in build.prop or something?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Please help require registry values for Clear type and font smothing?

Please help!!!
Hi i just flashed new official rom: RUU_Leo_S_HTC_WWE_3.14.405.2_Radio_15.42.50.11U_2.15.50.14_LEO_S_Ship
released on 11 oct 2010 by htc. There is no longer screen setting in the options menu?
I have located in the registry under GUI where to place the entries 1 folder called Font smothing and one called clear type but what entries do i need to make to enable them both?
100. Enable Align Screen Calibration in Settings
Certain US roms or custom roms do not have the screen calibration option showing in All Settings, System, Screen. This allows you to tap on crosshairs to calibrate the screen. To enable it just use the registry tweak below:
HKLM\ControlPanel\Pen and change from 1 to 0.

Yes But even then font smothing is not visible, that was only availiable through the quick preferences-screen not in all settings screen in previous roms
just dont want to have flash back to an old rom then back just for these settings after spending most of a day re-installing programs back on and changing settings to find these two missing.
where exactly was the font smoothing setting? i don't think i've ever seen anything labeled like that. just cleartype which says "smoothes the edges of screen fonts"
reg for cleartype is....
create the registry branch
hklm/system/GDI/CLEARTYPE
it doesn't need any keys or values, the branch existing is enough to turn on cleartype
hklm/system/GDI/CLEARTYPE already exists yet is not activated so how do you enable it? what entries need to be made in this folder?
font smoothing setting is also under hklm/system/GDI/ the same again this entry exists what entries need to be made in this folder?
in cleartype settings is only offonrotation
some apps require cleartype turning on within them. resco explorer for instance. scan your registry for "cleartype" there are a few hits.
Update half way there
Managed to get cleartype working in all progs and enabled thanks to another forum,
Just now need help to get font smothing working
how you did it?
How you managed to enable clear type in new rom. Pls help i cannot.

nothing else goes in that folder, the folder itself is all that is required to tell winmo to use cleartype. (At least thats how its supposed to work, thats how it works on non 3.14 roms)

[Q] create shortcut to directly settings?

Is it possible to create shortcuts on the home screen to point directly to specific settings?
E.G. I would like a shortcut to the USB utitlites setting (Settings>Wireless and network>USB Utilities) for when I want to plug my usb cable in to transfer files.
I'd also like a shortcut to the Wi-Fi settings (Settings>Wireless and network>Wi-Fi settings) to scan and switch network quickly.
You can add shortcuts to the 1st tier of settings, but not below. Other than that, you're looking for a 3rd party app that acts as a shortcut, or Launcher Pro may be able to do it by adding activities as shortcuts.
Thanks johnc. Can you explain how I can set a shortcut to the first tier of settings.
This is my first Android phone and I have only had it for 3 weeks but the more I use it the more unfinished Android is looking. There are just so many basic usability functions that are missing within the core apps. It seems you need to tack 2-3 3rd party apps on everything to make it work properly.

Once you get more used to it you'll be fine. There's obviously a learning curve, but it's well worth it as Android allows you to do so much, but yes, usually with the help of an app or two.
Anyway, to add a settings shortcut, long-hold on your home screen and in the pop-up menu, select "Shortcuts". Then, scroll down and select "Settings". That will give you your settings menu and you can then add anything off that menu to your home screen.
That's instructions for doing it with the TouchWiz launcher, which is the default launcher on stock devices. If you have a different launcher then it may be slightly different, but that's generally it for all of them.
Hope this helps mate

I've heard that Broadcom doesn't release source, how can you make this ROM?
Contrary to the popular belief, userspace driver source code is not always required to make an AOSP-based ROM as long as the proprietary binaries shipped with the device does not modify the API too heavily (or is from a very different version of Android). Instead of modifying the source code of the drivers, the Android source code was adapted to be able to use the proprietary binaries.
Will you make this official CM?
Due to the amount of work and commitment involved, I am not planning to make an official CM port.
Where can I see the numbers on the SIM card?
In the standard contact manager, you can only import them.
Continued

No. It is not supported in AOSP-based ROMs.

Yes, but you must use third-party applications. The implementation provided on Samsung ROMs is not an open standard. AOSP/CM does not provide a native way to send files over Wi-Fi Direct.
Can I mirror your ROM?
You're free to, but I will not list it in this post.
Will feature X from a previous version of CM be implemented?
I don't know, probably will be, eventually. I don't really involve myself in the feature-set side of CM.
Will you add OTA support?
No.
I cannot add APNs
Make sure you set the correct MCC/MNC code, the APN will not appear otherwise. Also make sure to use menu -> save (back button means discard).

Hii Kiborg_Man the main difficulty with the rom I am currently facing is the wifi button freezing on able to use wifi please fix this issue...
Thank you for the rom:good::good:

few options I've found

So I found a few options. I was originally looking for launcher options to add Google swipe to right for news feed. I believe it's called discover. Not to sure. I found the hidden menu on the LG V20.
However, I came across a few cool things like the recents tab. I just don't know how to enable it. Perhaps someone who knows how these things work can show me?
Also has anyone successfully hidden the time in the right hand corner? I use system ui turner, after enabling options that I like, if I turn off the screen, the options no longer stick.

Is there a way to tweak some Android 11 features?

Hi. I want to ask if there is a way to:
disable Android 11's screenshot pop-up and reverse it to the traditional screenshot notification;
disable Android 11's new power menu UI (w/ home control) and reverse it to "Android 10's style" or the traditional "power dialogue" (sometimes when system UI crashed, the traditional "power dialogue" will appear instead of the new power menu);
manage items displayed in text selection menu (since Outlook recently added an annoying "Bing Search" item into it);
tweak the "control centre (above the notification centre)"'s layout to Android 10's 3x3 layout.
Thank you.

Those changes would be possible but complicated to put together, I think your best option is to revert back to Android 10.
