hi,, sorry posted in wrong forum first time
I did the silly thing of doing a factory reset from phone off rather than from settings so it thought it was unauthorized factory reset
I still managed to get into my google account and onto the phone , just had to use wifi for some reason to use settings, everything is fine and wouldnt have known anything was wrong but I cant log into my mcafee security, it tells me invalid SIM card on my number and also my simcard #2 is greyed out and says no sim card in there
I am guessing this is because of the phone going into factory reset protection, will this resolve itself in 72 hours if do another reset ? any idea how i can solve this?
thanks

First do a hard reset. Then, when the phone boots do a soft reset before the customisations begin. This will put you back to the base rom without the carrier settiings. (This may not be completely correct because some carriers may embed their settings in the rom). Give it a try, but remember that the hard reset will clear all your data and loaded programs, so back up first.
incorrect... hard reset your PDA... make sure you remove your SIM card when you boot up... then uninstall the 3 Mobile Mail client by using the 'Remove Programs' and reboot... insert your SIM card again... but say no to the autocustomisation 'netwiz' that pops up...
and bingo!!!
Friend of mine gave me a Droid Razr from Rogers to try and fix. Phone would constantly reboot, but not at a specific interval. This all happened while it was on stock firmware. No upgrade available from Rogers, so I couldn't try that, plus factory reset/wiping cache didn't work either. Friend said I should do whatever possible, so I flashed the "The Artic" ROM. Everything works perfectly. No reboot, nothing.
It is a Rogers phone, and I need to unlock it, and when I put in the microSIM from a different provider, nothing comes up asking for SIM unlock. When I go into phone status, everything says unknown, including the IMEI.
The baseband box says unknown as well.
Anything I can do?
When I try to go *#06# the box comes up for IMEI, but it doesn't have anything on it. Corrupt IMEI?
How long ago did he get the Razr I hope he didn't get the two I returned as defective? LOL.... The two I got the first one having this random shutdown issue for some strange reason it would just turn off by itself. I can't seem to track the problem down since it was factory reset and nothing install but still did this. The second one just completely turned itself off and wouldn't come back on. The third did the same as the first but I managed to send it to Motorola for repair and they reflashed it, seems ok so far. I'm wondering if the Rogers Firmware has something to do with this?
I have no idea how long ago he got it. His warranty was out though, so Rogers wouldn't take it back.
Either way, apparently I don't have an 'EFS' folder. I used Root Explorer to check and there is nothing there.
How would I go about fixing that?
The weird thing is I can use WIFI on it. I thought it stored the WIFI addresses in the EFS folder?
Or perhaps Motorola phones don't have EFS folders. Anyone?
Did a factory reset, no EFS folder.
Originally when I got the phone, before I flashed any kind of ROM I put in a foreign SIM card and the 'network unlock' box never came up.
I'm beginning to wonder if the EFS folder was gone to begin with.
Because I just checked again, and its not there. Not even after a factory reset.
Yeah, not sure what else I can do. Went back to stock 2.3.5 and installed after market radio, and both times it says unknown IMEI. I think this phone is pretty much hooped.
Hi guys, I need your help badly, plzzzz.
So, it happened one day that my phone kept restarting after I wanted to call my mum. Every time the phone booted up, and i typed in the right PIN, the problem remaind.
I tought that a factory reset could solve the problem...it couldn't. (btw, without the SIM in it, the phone worked; thats how i menaged to do a factory reset). After that i managed to upgrade the firmware (from 2.1.1.A.0.6 to 2.1.1.C.0.0) even though that PCC said that there is no upgrade for my phone. Finally I solved the problem, but just for i while. Everything was good till i dialed again, the problem reappeared. This time it didn't recognise the SIM anymore and i had no signal, but the restarting stoped.
Then i tried something else. I wanted to unlock the bootloader, but it was already unlocked (i bought the phone secondhand), so I replaced the stock kernel and the rom, with nAa kernel(v.13) and a MiniCM7-2.2.1 custom rom. But the problem still remains. The current state is that i keep recieving "Insert the SIM card, and restart the phone" notification, and i have no signal, everything else is work fine. Plz give me suggestions what to do, to restore the cell to usable state. Thank you for advance for you'r assistance.

Repair to stock rom and lock your bootloader might do the trick.. don't lock the bootloader on a custom kernel.
Hi all,
I traveled to another country and got a new sim. In the process of putting the sim in and registering my phone on the foreign network, I noticed that the saleslady entered several USSD codes (sometimes she receives error messages and had to re-do them).
My question is: now I am back in my home country and want to ensure that any config changes she made to my phone are removed, can I just do a phone hard reset / factory reset to get everything back to "factory" defaults? I don't have a problem doing a factory reset if that's what's needed.
Thanks in advance for any info.
Hello everyone,
I live in Ontario Canada
I recently bought this phone. it's actually good, but something happened that I cannot fixed, I bought the phone from coolicool a store from China so it's taking some time to fixed my problem. Well the problem is this: I can't use my phone because it is asking me for the PRIVACY PROTECTION PASSWORD number which I don't have because I didn't set it up. I was playing with my phone to see what it does and all the sudden the screen appeared asking me for the number, well after trying many times different numbers I gave up, so i decided to do a HARD RESET which erased everything so I thought problem solved.... no way the stupid screen still comes up and won't let me use the phone... somehow I got to the setting and in the SECURITY OPTION i noticed that the MOBILITY ANTI-THEFT is ON and I tried different ways to turn it off but I haven't been able to do so. when I click on the MOBILITY ANTI-THEFT, it asks me for the number again which I don't know, honestly after doing the FACTORY RESET was enough but nothing works. By the way I did try 0000 and 1234 and 9999 and 1111.
It's not asking me for my sim card number because I tookthe sim card out and it does the same thing PLESSE ENTER THE PRIVACY PROTECTION PASSWORD TO UNLOCK...... it is driving crazy.....PLEASE HELP
The same problem

I ran into the same problem after changing sim-cards. Hard reset does not help, returning old sim back does not help. Remote android locking/erasing via google device manager does not help. I don't know what to do.
robflo1970, did you solved the problem? How did you get into settings?
