Do you know the reason why?
It seems to meet the minimum spec requirement.

sorry I do not know the actual reason, just that it does not work.
I suspect it has to do with testing and QA. Usually software editors only support installing software on tested platforms and it is possible that they have elected not to do that on our tablet after a cost benefit analysis.
Huawei Tablets sales volumes are not as high as the units supported by fortnite.

I bought the 32GB/3GB ram model which arrived today, annoyingly doesn't work as you said.
But the 64GB model with 4GB of ram and OS 8 meets the requirement for fortnite. According to epic that is the min requirements. So although it may not be on the list, it should work. Assume you only tried 32GB/3GB ram model? or is it confirmed the 64GB/4GB ram model doesn't work either?

[Q] MediaTek MT8389 Tablets ROM Development??

Hi guys! I noticed there are no threads here about cheap tablets with the quad core MT8389 chip. Tabs with this CPU have more phone features than those running on Rockchip or Allwinner. For instance, this tab called Freelander PX2 has 3G and GPS. Most of all, it is dual SIM! You can see the full specs here: http://www.chinatabletreview.com/freelander-px2
Now I do not see many tablets with these 3 features combined. But I'm pretty sure this tab may have some bugs and as with most Chinese tablets, support for firmware updates could be a problem. I just hope there are already people who have developed ROMs for these tablets. Are there any? If not, maybe we should pay more attention to these tabs...
For the $155 they're charging, the HiSense Sero 7 Pro is a better buy at $129. Higher res screen (1280x800), same quad core CPU. HiSense has 5 point multi touch though (vs 10 point on the PX2). The built in 3G is a bit moot because the bands will mostly get you 2G EDGE data on any GSM carrier in the U.S (although the 850 band might get you 3G on AT&T in *some * areas where they have 3G on 850).
Thanks for the info LordLugard! HiSense Sero 7 Pro looks good with that price. Surely a great buy!
Do you own a HiSense Sero 7 Pro tablet LordLugard? Could you give us a short review of that tab?
I don't own one but reviews are all over the web and very positive. Just go a general Google search.
Here are a few:

Great find!

Great find LordLugard! I bought the Freelander PX2 a week back from Aliexpress because I thought they would have it cheap if anything. It's a 155USD shipped with DHL and it works like a dream. Only problem is the screen! If the HiSense Sero 7 is good, it'll be evem better with a lower price and better screen!
I would love to try out the HiSense Sero 7 Pro! Any clue where you can get them?
Everything works as spec-ed out. Only thing is that althought it seems to have a proximity or light sensor it isn't working or supported yet. Other than that it's great.
It is root-able with "Framaroot-1.6.0.apk" from an xda thread
And the manufacturer supposedly provides the stock firmware (not confirmed though)
The Sero 7 Pro looks PERFECT!
Edit! Any idea if they will be available for international customers? I would love to get a couple!

Unfortunately the Hisense Sero 7 Pro is exclusive to WalMart stores in the U.S (I notice you're in Singapore) http://www.walmart.com/ip/Hisense-Sero-7-Pro-7-Tablet-Quad-Core-Processor-with-8GB-Memory/24805142. But i'll wager they might be available on eBay or thereabouts.
A general eBay search comes up with this http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trk...C0&_nkw=hisense+sero+7+pro&_sacat=0&_from=R40
Good luck.

Thanks LordLugard! Yea it seems like it Perhaps I could get someone to ship it over for me too! Yes they do! Thanks again Sometimes it's better to use ebay's main site rather than the respective countrys' to get all the items. Perhaps use a mail forwarding service in the US. Thanks again man! Quick reply too! It's 0730 here in Singapore
Noticed the Sero 7 Pro has no inbuilt SIM slots for 3G. The PX2 has Dual SIM (not that I even use them) and has call function too, being a phablet. But the Sero 7 Pro seems to be rock solid with NFC, HD screen (at least 720p!), dual speakers, 4000mAh (PX2 3200mAh) and most importantly would be its ability to attract developers and has support. I see updates that HiSense will bring Android 4.3 in too!
I forgot to mention the Freelander PX2 only has 5 point multi touch. If any sources say otherwise that's fake specs!
Thanks for the input guys! HiSense Sero 7 Pro is definitely a keeper. Are there any other MT8389 tablets that are noteworthy?

I bought this tablet after comparing it with other Chinese tablets/phablets. I'd say if your budget is about 160USD shipped then this 7" Phablet is the perfect choice. The specs are as listed and feels true to them. It is a very speedy tablet. Processing wise as well as surfing with Wifi or 3G. I went to look for ways to root it. xda forum has a method and it works with the Freelander PX2.
Only relative cons are well its screen which isn't at least 720p for HD videos and the screen is slightly white-ish regarding its contrast. Something I've seen on alot of reviews for Chinese screens. Nothing major but just to know. I will see if I can get screenshots of benchmarks I've done (Antutu, Vellamo, 3DMark, Quadrant). The speaker is a just a little softer than brand names. Of course the important point is that you get what you paid for and I'd say the Freelander PX2 has every buck squeezed out for the best fit of hardware
One teeny weeny itch is perhaps its Processor which states MTK8389. On every benchmarking app it too shows the specs are all in order. Except for CPU Identifier app from Play Store as well as when you plug it in to your pc/laptop it shows it as MTK65xx. Nothing to go crazy over but for those who're really picky, it might bug you. Nevertheless it's extremely speedy. I'm really happy with it. I think if you tried it you would get one for yourself. I got one for myself and everyone wants one Cheap and definitely good.
Just dont expect (serious) development on this Mediatek SoC.
Mediatek uses alot of Closed Sources..
All the last SoC Sources (MT6575, MT6577; MT6589, etc) are missing those important sources, and without it, theres no way to compile an fully working kernel, or compile an rom from source.
So, think better before buying...

Thanks superdragonpt for that insight! Nevertheless I must say without development the Freelancer PX2 does meet the needs of budget users. I would love for yhr HiSense Sero 7 Pro to be available internationally but the price would probably be higher.
Really depends on your uses. For a 155USD DHL Shipped you cannot go wrong.
Budget users would love it.

The HiSense Sero 7 Pro seems to only support Bluetooth 3.0, however, while the MT8389 tabs should have Bluetooth 4.0.
Do you guys know if the MT8389 tablets support Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, though? They don't run Android 4.3 (which is when BLE support was introduced), but in some places around the web, the 8389 tablets claim to support Bluetooth Low Energy.

I'm not sure about BLE. Maybe we'll have to wait until these tabs run on Android 4.3.
I own the 3 of them Hisence, the freelander and the HD-89 with the MTK8389
Why I own the 3 of them? by mistake First I got the Hisence from Walmart with a 2 years protection plan and i need a cheap plan cell phone as well So I end up looking for one and ebaying a bit i found the freelander. Mean time the Hisence burned the battery so it was send for repairs and been a month and not returns of the Hisence. I was happy with my cell phone plan net10 good data speed, good coverage area, again found the Freelander 7" phablet. but I got disappointed because the volume was so low and was not taking the battery charge, try it to get my money back or an exchange, It was a total frustration, I almost put it in the trash can; one day I went to the attic and by a chance saw a Motorola cable and charger. Decided to give the Freelander a try and it began to chargeeee. But I already ebaying a bit and found the MTK8389 and I end up buying because in my work, I need one fast. Impress with the delivering, It worked good out of the box, The ATT net10 sim card worked super fine just added data networks and I got a very fast. Still I have plans for the other tablets, my family plan on Net10 will use them following that afeter the fullcharge in the Freelander all its failures dessapeared. Hisence has a HDMI and just a 5MP rear camera and not cell phone abilities. the other 2 will do very well as the monstrous smart phone in the market for just 200 bucks. The HD-89 Mini 3G has an 8mp camera that i need for my work, and impresive movie palying. Have not test its HDMI functions yet. so far so good. I may try to do some rooting later.

Antutu does seem to indicate wrong CPU number although using app CPU identifier shows correct CPU number - Its still a brill tablet for the money....
I've had my Freelander PX2 for a month now and I think it's a great device for the money but when I'm out and about using 3g I get a reboot 2/3 times a day

New to Samsung 9

I just purchased my samsung 9 from my local telecom provider. it is actually a package deal. My problem is do i need to update every app found embedded on the phone? I am also hesitant to do an actual reset. Also i need a good micro memory chip for this. do you have recommended brand?
Thank you for your advice

I would update the apps on the phone out of the box, unless they are carrier bloat, mainly b/c it is a new phone and there are some bugs to work out still. as far as SD cards i've been buying the high end (pro) SanDisk ones for quite some time. They meet (or at least pretty close) the specs on the box. If you don't care about "speed" or waiting sometimes for things it doesn't really matter what you buy. I would get one rated at UHS-1 or UHS 2 for best performance. Like with RAM or any other chips... more you spend, the better you get.

The first thing i do is a factory reset right out of the box.
And as for an sd card get the lexar 1800x best there is based on my experience.
This one will match it in speed though.

Multitasking/RAM

You're busy and don't have time to wait, which is why you need to stop reading this thread and get back to organizing your Pogs. Rate this thread to express how the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 performs when multitasking. A higher rating indicates that the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 keeps many apps in memory so that they don't need to reload, and that when moving between apps, transitions are smooth and performance is excellent.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Multitasking 6GB RAM Model
I generally don't let things get out of hand, but I've had no problem running lots of apps on the phone and in DeX mode to a 4K TV with a USB mouse and keyboard, and still running nicely.
If anyone find 6 vs 8gb note comparison video, please share. I'd like to see is there any improvement in keeping apps in background on 8gb model.

Compared to other devices I've used, the 8gb Note 9 I'm using is a world of difference. It seems like Samsung nailed it with the way this phone handles having a ton of apps running at the same time. It smoothly transitions between whatever apps I want to use with seemingly no impact to performance

Well that sounds about right if you've got stuff open. That was only with literally everything on my phone closed so I can't imagine that we'll ever fully see over 6gb available with minimal or no apps but background stuff running. I really can't imagine any 8gb user will run into issues with ram regardless of how much the settings say is available

6 is plenty. I have the 6gig and only keep 3-4 open. It works great. I wanted the 8gig but after looking at a bunch of reviews I couldn't justify getting the 8gig for my type of usage. I don't play any games. Jist YouTube. Text. Browser. Music and a bit of social.

I switched from the s7e exynos to the note 9 exynos. I can tell you from my experience that it's smoother, faster, better to hold in hands without a case, better camera, better audio from speakers/headphones, a lot better battery life and so on + the new one UI shapes to be great too (android P). The difference is there and the phone better + I have the 6GB variant and this + software optimisations leads to quite good RAM management, it's vastly better than the s7e - will recommend you to get the 6GB version if you don't need the 512GB onboard storage (you can put fast sd card for videos/photos on the 128GB model if needed).

Agree, 128GB is plenty. If you can wait, do so for the s10 is my advice (or 2019 phones in general). Otherwise you will not be dissapointed from the note 9.

WIll buy something in april nxy yr lets see what comes next

what capacity version do we have?

128 or 512?
What exactly do you mean? Both are available but I suppose the 128GB version is much more widely used due to the 200$ surcharge for the 512GB version.

As I tried to point out, I suppose the majority will most probably have the 128 GB model because the 512 GB costs 200$ more and offers no real added value because who needs 512 GB of storage on a phone?
Additionally the 512 GB version wasn't in stock at first/released later I think
For better understanding and communication I recommend www.deepl.com/translator it's really good at translating meaningful and contextually aware.
i opted to get the 512GB. i knew 128 gigs wasn't going to be enough for me. unfortunately i destroyed my screen while out to eat and am waiting on getting it repaired.
Mine is 128gb.
Last phone was s7 with 128 memory, and the whole 2 years I had it, it didn't reach 100 gb mark, so i think more than 128 for me is overkill.
I would suggest just using a flash drive and otg it

Is it that fragile?
128GB
128GB for me too, don't think I'll need more than that. I'll just store stuff off on the cloud if I do need more later on. Or maybe get that dock that has the SD card attachment.

honestly i dont know. the drop punched a circle through my glass screen protector and completely shattered and destroyed what i assume to be my digitizer. and the nearest asus repair center is three states away from where i am in the USA
Everything I do on the phone is mainly streamed or stored in the cloud I just went for the 128gb version as the only things taking up a little space are the handful of games. Always been fine with the 128gb iPhones and iPads so never needed more.

new PX6 version?

Hello,
I was unable to google out any information regarding this topic, so I'm asking pros for opinion
I'm about to purchase new head unit with PX6 processor, but I was surprised when I saw on YT this unit showing PX6 package with quad-core A72+quad-core A53. Have you seen this design before, or is it just another faked value by chinese scammers?
Thanks
Is it an MTCD
Yes it is. Sorry, I don't have a link to english based description page... https://allegro.pl/oferta/uniwersal...wZTJiZWQ1NmUyZTIxN2RhOGFhMDgwNTM3Y2E1OGQwZTg=
How will you find out
px6 is commonly known as a rk3399 4gbram 64 gb drive nothing new there ?? fit their descriptions
the best proof is to get the system infos pictures ...
So, they claim to be RK3399 and "Octa Core", but (at least in the translation) I don't see they explaining what the "Octa-core" has inside (like 4xA72). So, my guess is a normal PX6 Hexa-Core with the usual Chinese-publisher mistake (describing it as Octa-Core)
Anyway, I would NOT recommend you to buy a PX6 nowadays. Better options:
- IF YOU ARE IN A HURRY: FYT Units based on 2xA75 + 6xA55 and up to 6GB RAM (UIS 7862) People seems quite happy with them (better audio as an example). Look on the FYT subforum here. A75 is quite more than an incremental update to A72.
- IF YOU CAN WAIT: Rockchip has their RK-3588 Scheduled for Q3/Q4 this year. What makes it relevant is that it is 4xA76, so twice the number of Big Cores, and A76 is not an evolution of A75 but is a completely clean-sheet design. It was originally scheduled for Q4 2020 but with the Chip-Shortage... Also UIS (the SoC manufacturers used on FYT) also have a 4xA76 chip to be launched "inminently"
OK, be aware that "waiting" could be more than 6 months... Neither SoC is anywhere to be seen yet and HW developers would need time to adapt the designs... In my case I have a PX5 that "works" (with delays on the UI) and I have decided to wait. But if you have NO unit at this time... go for a FYT
Hope this info helps
Any new information on this - RK-3588? Seeing that this insightful post was 6 months, i would like to know if there's any sighting of devices with this soc?

So, the chip was launched in January, and now there are several SBC (Single Board Computers) that have launched products using it. If you do a Google Search you will find a few
Regarding Dasaita, they claim is "planned" (https://www.dasaita.com/community/forum/topic/66834/any-plan-to-use-rk3588-in-the-future )
Having said that, Rockchip has also launched a version called RK-3588S (nothe the S at the end) which has less PCI channels for extra data ports. That makes it cheaper (while having the same CPU processing power), and while some people argues it is directed for Tablet market (where you do not have a ton of ports), they added CAN-BUS support, so I expect that one to be used on Android Stereos due to its price, and maybe, who knows, chinese manufacturers add a few surprises making use of the CANBus connection

BUT - Do not hold your breath. I suspect we are still talking about months here (maybe September/November shopping season?). As I already have a PX5 unit, I am willing to wait. But that might not be the case for everybody.
@maxiauer thanks for the info. I also have a PX5 Which is showing signs of aging by constantly disconnecting from my USB stick. Waiting until the newer version comes out is not an issue provided the one i have remain functional.

Do consider a uis7862 FYT (e.g. as sold by navifly/mekede, not endorsing either) they are miles better than the MTCD based units while cheaper than even the most overpriced Dasaita MTCD.
You won't regret it, it's the software and the hardware improvements that make a huge difference.

Just of out curiosity... What direction are they finally moving with regards to allow open SW? Several months ago it seemed like they were forcing users (as an example) to use their own Voice assistant rather than allowing Google Assistant... And I think I saw something about accessories (like having to use their TPM).
That was the main reason I stop researching those units. But with so many posts (and providers) sometimes it is hard to keep on track with the news
It looked to me like they were becoming the "Apple' of the Android Auto... Units do work great, as far as you only do what they say you should do. Which, for some users, that is great. But not for me

Miss my post above
PX6 is a bad investment. Too old, most probably with a short life-expectancy taking into account that year by year apps / OS become more "resource hungry" as mobile phones become more capable...
If you are in a hurry, UIS 7862 is your best option... although that specific CPU is a 2020 model... not that old but a considerable time in the Mobile-Phone industry. If a Tablet lasts "snappy" for 5 years (and basically you are buying a tablet), you have already missed half of its life expectancy. Also, it only has 2 powerful CPUs (vs the standard today on phones being 4). Of course, is not like it will stop working, you require less from those units than from a normal tablet...(basically play music and show maps). But it will start showing its age.
Dasaita "claimed" they will be launching a RK-3588S this year but...
In general terms, it doesn't look to be a great time to buy a new unit. But if you need it, go for the UIS
