Hi
I have just bought an amazfit gtr and it seems great. There is one though that I hope can be fixed.
I like the music control a lot when I listen to Spotify, but it is annoying having to go in and find the music player again in the watch every time I want to change songs. It would have been nice if it was there when I tap the screen or something.
Just found the quick access
Does anybody know?
Kind regards
Peter
Go to settings > quick start up > select music.
Now you can directly go to music by pressing the secondary button on your watch.

Is there a way to control music player on the phone while any sport activity is active?
You cannot acees to the notificiations with music controls when sport is active, you can use Watchdroid with "running when unlocked" option checked, but Watchdroid usually stops sport activity. In sport activity you can acces to the rightmost screen where is internal player but for this kind of listening you need BT headset.. Any idea? I am using Pace mostly for tracking my runs..

I'm having the same problem. Did you figure out a way to control music player? An older version of OS, it was possible to control musics while in activity, after the new updates, this control is gone.
Latest International firmware for Stratos (I think Chinese too, but no one uses it outside China as it doesn't support other languages), which is 2.3.8.0 as of now, as well as latest Chinese firmware for Pace (2.6.5.0 as of now) brought back music control as the far right screen when recording activities. It should come back to Pace INTL version soon. In the mean time, you can either use headphones that support A2DP protocol or use a floating music player (not the best solution, just a workaround).
has anyone figured this out yet? my old watch was a gear 2 neo running android wear and the screen could be set to default to the music controls when the phone was bluetoothing music to anything. This seems like such a no brainer functionality to have, its absurd that tizen (samsung) hasnt figured it out yet that when people are listening to music, that theyd want the option to have the screen default to this
This feature was added in the latest Pace update!
Hi folks,
I've just started using Stratos with stock fw 2.3.0.8 and noticed a strange thing. I start playing music via my BT headphones directly from the watch (i.e. no smartphone used) and everything works fine. Then I launch the RUN option to start which switched to the excercise screen and starts tracking the pace, HR etc. but it STOPS the music. I didn't find a way how to restart or control the music from the RUN screen. Not sure if this is a bug, or I just haven't found the right procedure to do so.
SO - how do you listen to music and have the run tracked at the same time??
Many thanks,
loni
By doing exactly what you did, but you control the music while in the activity with the headphones buttons (it needs to be A2DP compatible, so probably it has more than 1 button for play/pause, next/prev music and volume). Other than this, you can use third party apps to go back to main screen and then go the music widget, but it's not advised and it may cause problems with the activity tracking.
Same problem here. My first training went smooth, i've played music, then start RUN and go - awesome.
2 days later i did exactly same thing - music, run, go - music stopped.
I'm using Huawei AM61 with VOL UP, VOL DOWN, FUNCTION buttons. How i can resume music once activity tracking starts? How to minimize to "desktop" after activity start? BT music was the main reason i've bought this watch - so i can leave my phone at home.

If the music paused then it should come back after you use the headphone's Play button. If it doesn't, probably either the headphones disconnected or media player crashed. Music control went back to Stratos in CN dev builds, so it may come back to all devices soon (Stratos and Pace). In the meantime, you can use this floating bar to control music even when recording an activity:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thsoft.shortcut
You can also try this other music player that works as the builtin but offers playlist support:

This used to happen to me. Changing the songs to lower bitrate and putting fewer songs on the watch fixed it. Also sometimes i needed to let it 'rest' after putting new songs on it.
Yeah, i deleted 2 big files (meaning that one mp3 is over 1 hour long), leaving normal ~3-5 minutes mp3's, and it seems to be working fine again. Probably media player was crashing.
Hi, i would like to ask if anyone that has the verge watch, is there an option or the ability to control Spotify from the watch, like change track etc. ?
As i'm interested to get it but i can't find anywhere if the watch has this option !
Thanks !
enable music control in the amazfit app, and the watch will control the last music app used on your phone.
Hi,
with my previous Android phones, I could always listen to music while running and still hear the audio coach in apps like Strava, Endomondo, ...
With the Mars, as soon as the text to speech is saying something, the music will be softer but nothing is spoken.
To reproduce:
Play some music through "Play Music" or some other audio player
Open for example "Couch to 5K & 10K"
Go to a workout -> settings -> Coach volume
When you change the volume, text to speech should say "Workout completed" but nothing is said
Can anyone reproduce? Trying to figure out if it is a software or hardware problem. Nubia already offered to replace the phone (props to them), but I don't want to go through the hassle if it won't solve the problem
This was happening for me as well... The simple solution was to use the power amp music player and in the settings set it to pause the music instead of "ducking." This fixed it right up

Normally it is possible. At least on my Startos3 with 4.2.8.0 sw but it was working also with previous sw version.
First option is yours. Connect bluetooth device from connectivity menu and start music or connect headsets by starting Music. Then, start Music and Go to activities, choose Run and GO. Apparently, at this stage, music stops for you, which is not normal.
Try the following. Go to "running" in activities, you can scroll down below the button showing the "GO -searching GPS". The options are:
- activity goal
- running training
- settings
Go to settings, and you should have:
- Display settings
- More settings
- alerts
- accessories
- import routes
Go to "accessories" and the watch should normally search for a Bluetooth device => connect your headsets/earbuds.
Once connected, go back to main "running" window showing the "GO" button. Start the running session. Normally, you should be able to swipe down the main screen and you should see another screen, "routes" or same but with less or more data displayed. Continue swiping down again until "Music" control window appears. It should appear. Start music and go back to wanted screen when running.
