Hello Masters,
I bought this cell phone a few weeks ago, and recently I began to notice that on occasions the screen is locked leaving the touch completely unusable, the sound buttons work, but they do not unlock it, it is only unlocked if the power button is pressed.
This does not happen when answering calls, it is totally random, for while I play, while watching videos, while reading something in Chrome.
Has anyone else presented this problem, how can it be solved? Should I go where I bought the phone to have it checked?
Model: Asus_X01AD
Thanks for your help.
Thanks for the help :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Hello,
I'm new to xda-developers forums. My X10 mini pro is only 2 weeks old but I got this random problem that pops up from time to time. The touchscreen is not working. I can't unlock the phone when I took the phone out of my pocket, I can't enter the unlock pattern. Then it registers a wrong pattern. for example, the pattern to unlock my phone is:
12*
*3*
**4
sometimes it just registers
12*
***
***
or
12*
*3*
***
or nothing at all and it ends up that I'm being asked with the security question. It gets frustrating.
There's also this one time when I have an incoming call and when I took the phone out of my pocket I can't slide the phone to receive the call. I ended up having a missed call (good thing it's not an important call).
Any ideas on this problem guys? Have any of you experienced the same problem before? Are there any good practice/app to improve the x10 mini pro's capacitive touchsreen? The problems occurs usually when the phone is fresh from my pocket or I am out in the bright sunlight if that helps. I really need it to be much more reliable.
P.S.
Can't wait for the 2.1 update... Hopefully it supports 2.2 and other future versions too. I don't know why the music player has no repeat. And the camera haz no zoom. And there's something funny about the dialer but I just can't pinpoint what. (any idea if x10 family can support gingerbread?)
No one bothered replying??
Well, that sux.
Anyways, for an update, I've rooted my phone, overclocked a bit, managed memory,... so far so good. I think having the the phone in your pocket, butt-dialing overloads the touchscreen with a lot of input (even if it's locked, but lighting up) that's why it becomes unresponsive.
-----------------------
Hope devs crack the bootloader soon, the news from SE regarding the update is devastating.
Same problem here. I've had the phone for 48 hours and almost everytime I unlock the phone the touchscreen becomes unresponsive.
Any solution? Should I return it to retailer?
it looks like the CPU/Memory was on power saving (low performance), until you turn it on.
Can you wait before you enter the unlock code a few seconds(5~10 seconds) to know if the problem is solved?

doesn't work, once the screen is lock the only solution is to remove the battery.
Is your phone rooted? Since I rooted my phone, played with setcpu and autokiller, touchscreen performance increased a lot. My guess is that it has something to do with memory management. While android claims that it has hardcore memory management, you still need to kill apps once in a while.
Right now, whenever my touchscreen becomes unresponsive, I press the power button (to turn off the screen, not shut down the phone) and press it again (so the screen will light up). It becomes responsive again. Works everytime without fail. I hope this helps solving your problem.
hi guys,
i'm having this really wierd problem just started couple of hours ago, ok so the problem is that when i reboot my phone and get into windows mobile or android everything works perfectly however as soon as i power off and wake up the phone the touch screen stops responding completely and the only way i see is to hard reset the phone again and i have no idea whats causing it i changed roms , changed radio and yet i still have this problem so someone please help me out, i don't no if the touch screen is messed up or what
because the touch responds perfectly the way it should when i reset my phone but after i power off the screen and wake up to the lock screen i can't unlock the phone b/c it won't respond to my touch after that
so please help out guys
thanks
hm... try hard-reseting the phone. but back up your data first using some backup software like sprite backup
Tried that as well no luck any other suggestion guys
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
I had the exact same problem, and I had to hard reset everytime, but as soon as I would press the end key it would be unresponsive. What I learned is that right after you hard reset you should only try waking pressing other keys than the end key and let it go to sleep by itself. Also did you use any EVO android builds, or Android at all, not sure if it's relevant, but that's where it all went wrong for me with the EVO build. I do find it quite odd that quite a few people are experiencing the same thing with the touchscreen and it also seems that there really isn't a solution to this. I had to send it in for a repair, and it got fixed pretty quick. Perhaps this needs to be investigated more.
i have same problem with my htc hd2
it is so annoying. i will send to repair service too..
hey i have the same problem too ! did you installed the new c0okies home tab ? because i did and after that it start it messing up.. well i did a thread yesterday about this.. the only responses i got was to send it back to repair. I just did not turn off the screen for nothing today during the whole school day it almost finisihed the whole day, it last it me about 6 hours without turning off the screen, otherwise the touchscreen becomes unresponsive.
Temporary fix/test
I just fixed it temporarily, i fixed it by taking off the battery cover and pressing down on the htc logo (below lcd) and pressure on both the front and back of the phone where the htc logo is.
if you do this and it fixes it, you most likely have a dodgy lcd/digitiser flex ribbon cable.
Hello everyone.
Tried searching the forum response to my questions but not found.
1. I can not transmit anything via bluetooth. It's really just for my handset or having problems?
2. When I got the phone in my pocket, even with the screen locked, sometimes it turns off. Ie If you press the power button continuously, even with the screen locked, it turns off. Is it normal or is my problem with one?
Thanks

Hi!
1. WP7 does not support sending files via bluetooth since its a very cloud based device. Maybe with Mango we will have that option, but its unclear also because of the security issues...
2. I don't know about other WP7 devices, but with HTC 7 Mozart it works like that. But that never happen to me and i use it on my pocket all the time. Maybe those gel soft cases could help?
Hi,
In Mozart even if you are in the screen saver lock screen a constant press of your power button would switch it off.
There is no alternative for this now and the best way is to use a case (So that the power button does not get pressed when in your pocket)
Maybe this would also be take care of in the next updates
Finally someone who has the same problem as I do. If you follow my post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1055060 you will see that I have been *****ing about this power-off problem for some time now. People thought I was crazy. The morons who replied to the posts ALL debated weather or not it happens to them or not. WAY besides the point (and question asked). Windmaster, you are not alone - I share your frustration in the phone switching off whilst in your pocket. One day, hopefully, there will be a solution to this.
Hi, I was browsing one day using "Google Chrome" on my Huawei U8950D then all of the sudden my phone just hanged, the screen won't respond and the lock button doesn't work, so I had to remove the battery to reboot the device. When I turned the phone back on I noticed sudden slowness of processing of applications and a huge bar of dead spot just happened to appear on my screen, I haven't dropped it or got it wet, it just happened.
My suspicions was the software side causing hardware problems on the phone. I don't know if I can repair the screen through software but what I want to know is how can I fix the "Lag" part of the device, the "slow processing".
To be honest I'm not that much familiar to mobile devices and android software but I would really appreciate any help coming from you guys who might have experience the same problems or maybe knowledge in getting me out of the this mess.
Edit: I also experience unresponsiveness of the screen and I always need to press to lock button to sorta "refresh" the screen so it would respond again.
Need Help badly. Thanks in advance
Hello,
I really hope someone could help me.
My phone's touchscreen is becoming unresponsive at random times but mostly if the phone is not being used and I'm moving(in my pocket). The display works fine, if I am pressing lock twice, for example, the camera app pops but I am not able to press the caption button.
This issue is resolved if I restart the phone (volume down and lock button), but after a few minutes it becomes unresponsive again.
Also I noticed that the battery drains way faster.
This is how I tried so far to solve the issue:
-delete recent downloaded apps
-start the phone in safe mode
-reset factory the phone
This issue started at the end of quite very high altitude, not sure if this could be related.
Help would be really much appreciated, currently backpacking and don't afford a new phone or spending loads of money on repairing.
Thank you
A SEU is possible. Rare but more common at high altitudes. Try reflashing to same version firmware. A hardware failure be more likely nonetheless you need the eliminate corrupted firmware as a possible cause. If under warranty, send it in.
Try downloading UsbMode.apk
It will report your touches, also mutltiple touches.
(Ok, Developer Options in Settings has a variant of this too.)
A family member had this problem too - I ended up sending it to my carrier for repair. Hopefully yours is still under warranty if it's the same issue.
