I'm wondering if anyone can offer some help. The other day, while wearing my GTR 42, I scratched the face while doing some plumbing work. It's a scratch about a centimeter long. It's not bad. It doesn't impede the view. But you can see it if the face is all black. I've heard white toothpaste doing the trick. Anything else anyone would recommend?

Hello everyone.
I was cleaning my Galaxy S3 this morning and figured out a stain on the screen.
At first I thought it was some grease, so I used a cloth with soap to take it out Surprisingly the stain persisted!
Looking more carefully at it, I found out the stain fits exactly the spot I must touch with my left thumb.
Actualy it's not a stain. Somewhat the screen wore! Like the most used keys of an old keyboard.
The stain is only visible when the phone is covered with water. The faded portion of the screen takes more time to dry the water.
Is anybody experiencing this too?
I never imagined a flagship device like this could use so bad materials on it. It's only 8 months old and I'm not a hard user.
Most of my friends have Apple devices and they look like new even after years of usage.
Maybe I got a defectful screen glass?
Never experienced anything like this. Maybe you have diamond coated fingers. Maybe the oleophobic coating wore off?! If it has a coating.

It isn't bad materials as you say, what industry are in in or have you had something acidic on your fingers?. Have you had a screen protector on that has left residue??
Is covering your screen with water a good thing to do??

I don't work in a factory; I work in the office. I can't recall using or droping something acidic on the phone. Even because I'm not in contact with such things. I never used a screen protector or a case.
I mean the water left by the humid cloth. Nothing special.
I know its an old post but i suggest you to buy a screen protector to extend the life of the screen
Some people's sweat can be quite detrimental, use screen protector or don't moan
Hi everyone, so I noticed after having my z2 for about a week that there were these marks on the lens that appeared out of no where. The thing that I found odd about it was that it was only the lens that had these marks but no other part of the back had any scratch, which is funny because the lens is flush with the rest of the body. I was reading around and saw that some people had trouble with air bubbles getting behind their lens, but the pictures they provided seemed to differ from the problem that I was having. If anyone could shed some light on what this is (indeed just scratches, air bubbles, faulty factory lens protector) I'd greatly appreciate it! Here's some photos I took of the lens!
This is very strange...my lens are perfect and for one month are without protection. I use the phone without cover too but nothing are happened! I heard that xperia z2 scraches easily , but not that easily! What do you do with your phone? Where is the place do you're put often your phone?
There is already a thread about this and there's a fix too

Is there any way to remove the paint on the camera ring?
Mine is wearing off and I would rather it all just be silver now than try to fix what has worn off.
I know this is an issue quite a few of us are having.
Thanks
Other than mask the lense and sand it down no “ i just masked the lense with a sticker i cut too size “ bought some matt black spray and re painted it “ it turned out well looks brand new again “ i gave it 6 coats so it should withstand some bashing around for a while and then ill repeat the process again when needed “ took me half n hour from masking the lense then then the masking the phone sprayed “ dried for 20 minutes unmasked done “ matt black spray cost me 3 pounds delivered of ebay worth every pennny
The lens surround appears to be anodized aluminum. Not exactly paint, but it will still wear through.
A quick fix in metal shops is to just run over it with a sharpie. This is done all the time when trimming black anodized AL. Not perfect, but quick.
The only fix to preventing this from getting scratched will be to prevent it from touching any surface. I've had my V10 for about a week and I noticed this was going to get scratched up (and I didn't want the camera lens to get scratched either!) so I put 4 rubber nub feet on the back of the phone. It looks goofy, but it will keep the camera module from contacting whatever surface I put it on. I can see this is going to be VERY scratch prone without a case, so I am going to pick one up, and I'd suggest picking one up too, unless that camera glass / lens is easy to replace and you like slim phones... because it will get scratched and you'll be stuck with permanently blurry pictures (been there with a prior phone).
My P30 pro came out og the box from fabric with huge scratch on it. And several small around the bezel.
The scratch vere on the bezel top left.
Anyone Else having this?

What the F? That's very strange. Guess I'll have to inspect mine at the shop. Sigh.
I have visible spots between the bezel and the backplate. You may see it in good light.
I think I may have a kind of OCD since I am so irritating upset about minor details.. ???
Hi not a development thread so apologies if I've posted this in the wrong place.
I've recently purchased a stratos and have managed to scratch the screen. Does anyone have any suggestions for repairing it? The watch shop I went too simply said post it back to the manufacturer. Thanks
I haven't scratched my BIP yet, but I got good results using mild abrasives on scratches on my Pebble watches.
By "mild abrasives" I mean toothpaste (white type, not gel) and jeweler's rouge.
If the scratch isn't too deep, you might get some results by just rubbing it with rough paper, like facial tissue, paper towel, etc.
Regards,
Eric

Thanks I'll give it a try!
Or just try putting a screen protector over it. If it's not too deep it will simply "disappear" under the screen protector.
