I am using a Galaxy S9+ running the latest version of SoldierROM (PIE, rooted) and I have been trying to use MirrorLink for a while now but it just refuses to work.
When I connect my phone to my car and choose MirrorLink, a couple of prompts pop-up that I accept and then the certificate fails to download.
I have tried updating to Android 10 and doing that, but the certificate still fails. Is it because I am rooted?
Someone posted about the same issue on XDA, but none of the solutions posted worked for me.
Thanks, guys!

Hi, try this:
Go to the app mirrorlink 1.1 and there to the storage. Here you Clear the data and the cache. Then connect once again your mobile with the car. The should ask for download again new fresh certificates. Not every time it works for every app, but then start again.
Hope it will help!

Thanks a lot for your reply. Unfortunately, I tried that many times without success, so I am assuming it might have to do with my device always being flagged as rooted even when I restore everything to stock.
I have the same phone with the same problem... did you manage to fix it?
Same issue over here. It would be nice to have a fix for this.
Now that Samsung wisely decide to drop support for MirrorLink, is there any work around this?
I have Note 9 and I just bought my frist car. It was jaw droping to see how bad samsung is! I just connect my phone I see certificate download error for MirrorLink 1.1.

Ok I'm trying to figure this out sorry if this has been covered before I did a search and couldn't find the awnser to my problem.
This is my situation. My gf does not want to root her phone, But wants to use her phone while I'm gone to connect to her phones web.
I looked up on google and tried to download kies 1.5.3 because I found a method that allows you to connect via usb. Well i cant find the download at all for kies 1.5.3 So what I need is either to connect via usb or wifi sharing app.
So could anyone that either has the kies downloaded share it please?
Or, could you share the apk for wifi sharing please?
Thanks in advance.
I know there is an app in the market that says you can use it to tether your phone's data connection to a computer or whatever. It is $9.99 though. It does claim to be able to work without root. I have not used it, but wanted to let you know I have seen it. If you try it and it works, let us know, I am curious.
Try it right away and if it does not work, then you can get your refund within 15 minutes.
Thank you, You wouldn't know what the name is would you?
The specific one I am thinking of is called EasyTether. however I just put "tether" into the Market search and it brings up a few, some free some not, that claim to work without root. The easytether app even has a free "lite" version you can try out.
Good luck!
Ok sweet downloading it now. I'll post back to let you guys know how it works.
Thank you very much!
Ok, At the momment I'm using easytether to post this. I must say it works just as stated. Thank you once again I'm going to continue to test it out.
Hey that's awesome. My wife also does not want her phone rooted, so will use this if she needs to tether. Thanks for being the guinea pig!
Cheers
Hey guys Easy tether works great. Thats what I used before I rooted and installed custom roms on my phone months ago.
Edit: you said wifi sharing, Easy Tether is usb tethering which is much better because wifi tethering kills you battery quick.

To WiFi tether without root you're going to need a firmware that has the MobileAP application already installed. That will either require Odin, or root so that's out. Other than that you can easily usb tether without root. Don't even need special software if the system is running XP, Vista, or 7. See link below

The Q&A section is his friend too, which is why he posted here. He was provided assistance, and followed up on the help he was given advising us of the result. This thread topic, for now, has been resolved. No further googling is necessary.
I did find this in a search but, I was unable to connect with kies 2.0. I tried to find kies 1.5.3 but everywhere I looked I had to pay or do a long sign up to obtain it. Samsungs site only offers 2.0 which wouldn't allow my gfs phone to connect. I finally downloaded kies mini 1.0. I was able to connect finally but, the mini version doesn't have any option to tether via usb. She has used it most of the night and it works great. So at this point till she let's me root her phone and install cwm and a custom Rom,
This method is working great. For 9.99 I really can't complain as it works wonderfully for her. Once again thanks guys for all your help.

Hey I am in need of some help.
Yesterday I decided that I need to root my ATT Motorola Atrix 4G in order to be to able to install third-party software and have the option of checking the unknown sources option and have full functionality of the phone.
So, I started by using the program Superoneclick and I followed all the instructions to the tee. During the rooting or shell rooting process it would freeze up at the 'running psneuter' and then loops and give me this message 'If it keeps looping, try disabling USB debugging now'. I did as it told me and it did not work. I tried the process over and over again for about 2-3 hours and still got the same issues.
So, after hours of researching and trying Superoneclick. I decided to use the Gingerbreak.exe found at briefmobile.com. So that worked I think because in Titanium backup it says it is rooted. What puzzles me is that the phone is supposedly 'rooted' but I don't have the unknown sources option to be checked. Also the superusers icon showed up but I do not even know what to do with that.
I would like assistances or advice when it comes to properly rooting my ATT Motorola Atrix 4G.
Thank you to anyone that can help.
my device doesnt show an option box to enable or disable sideloading but i can still sideload. i am pretty sure that i read the guy that made the hack didnt bother with the check box
also, if it doesnt work for you there is an app you can download from android central called the side loading wonder machine (or something like that). i have used it too and it works great when you are connected to your pc
I want to be able to install produces without having to keep connecting my phone to the computer.
Have you actually tried to install non market apps since rooting? As I said earlier, my phone doesn't indicate that I can side load but I can
Yes and it tells me i can't install it because i need to check that box. Which leads me to believe that the phone is not truly rooted. What do you think?
Being rooted and being able to side load are two different things. It sounds like you are rooted already so now you just have to enable side loading. Read the this thread carefully and see if it solves your issue
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016060
Thanks...what will this do exactly? and will i be able to receive the updates from att for the atrix still?
I did everything you did and it worked wonderfully thanks.
One more questions. How come I can install over the air from the market when i am on my pc? Why do i have to do it from the phone directly?

Is your question that you can or cannot use your pc to download to your phone over the air? You should be able to use your pc to push an app onto your phone from the market without wires.

Just curious, what does this have to do with rooting?

Well i originally was having rooting issues. Now that I was helped and finally got my phone rooted i am experiencing this issue after rooting my phone. So why start a new thread?
I tried to update my P7510 wifi tab using the "About device" ---->"Software update"----->Update button in settings, but for some reason this button is not active; when I touch it nothing happens. It used to work till a few months ago and used to tell me there are no updates available. But for some reason it is not working anymore. I tried to update to ics using Kies but it cannot read the tablet.
I wonder if there is a solution to make the "update" button active again.

Thanks for the tip. I actually managed to install ICS on the tablet by following a convoluted semi-procedure that only works some of the times!
I read on some forum (do not remember where as I read a lot of stuff online in many forums to find a solution for this) that the trick to this is to use the wireless connection capability of Kies at the same time that the tablet is connected to the PC via the cable. It took a few trials and errors to get it right, but eventually it worked and although Kies kept saying that nothing is connected to it, it actually somehow somewhere in its program understood that the tablet is indeed connected to Kies via cable and so it gave me the permission to update the firmware and install ICS.
By the way my tablet is not rooted. I think the problem initially happened a few months a go when I uninstalled (or stopped, not sure) the "update" task of android. From then on, the tablet could not connect to its server to see if an update is available.
On a separate note, ICS seems fine to me but the lag in video/live stream issue is not good. I also hope like many others here for Samsung to come up with a fix for this soon.
Hi,
Has anybody got S2 successfully connected to Gear 2 watches, or is this lost course? I got to myself Neo couple of days ago. I use CM11 rom and installed latest Gear Manager to it. S2 himself pairs with success, even connects via bluetooth. But with Gear Manager 1.7, I can pair with success, but cannot connect successfully to watch. It's just saying connecting and doing nothing. Tried with version 2.0 of Manager and this one doesn't to anything, just saying error message that "unable to connect to Gear", upgrade software and so on. Samsung officially said what they are doing all to get Gear 2 watches working with all Android phones with 4.3 or newer in near future. But then and how long must we wait only future can tell. I'm really happy with S2 and CM11 rom, is this really so that I need to buy new phone or wait before guys from XDA are cooking working software..
Edit:
Yes, got working! Read Gear 2 thread and got hint to do restart after installation. Now Gear Manager 1.7.031004 / 2.0.14031004 paired and connected successfully. Got punch of errors (several stopped workings while connecting -saprovider.apk and goproviders.apk ), but watch and S2 seem to get along.
please explain your steps
Hi Equ,
I'm stuck with exactly the same problem.
I have a Galaxy Gear 2 Neo and I'm trying to connect it to my GS2 i9100.
Looking for other threads I've found only this one and post there my attempts: [HOW TO]USE Samsung Galaxy Gear with i9100
Could you please explain how you get the solution, which rom and gear manager apk have you used?
Thank you so much,
Flavio.

I used this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723862 . I have latest CM11 by Markox89 on S2, and Gear Manager is latest available I believe 2.0.14042803, but on first time I used 2.0.14041404. Of course many things don't work with S2, but I used this solution to only pair and to finish watch initialization. Using only pedometer and heartrate monitor for daily usage. No alarmclock or notifications (missing them mostly), sadly, but many thing still working Root access was gained couple of days ago, so now must wait for modders, maybe something more will happen for Galaxy S2 too
Thank you so much.
I'm going to try this procedure and report here my results.
I will also investigate the code of the Gear Manager apk because the I'm quite sure the incompatibility message (device not supported exception) could be not a real issue but only a check in the code.
If this is true changing the result of the check should simplify the installation of the apk without need to modify the original build.prop file which could affect the correct phone functionality.
gear connected with i9100
Here my updates:
I was able to connect the gear with the GS2.
Unfortunately changing the puild.prop file record ro.product.model will affect every rom I've tested, after shout down the device can't start again.
I always needed to restore a previous backup in recovery mode.
Using Phone/GUI Interface method also doesn't work properly because I'm still not able to move the apk inside /system/app folder and this probaly is the reason I can't install S-voice and S-healt app.
However I've installed Gear Manager v2.0 14041404 and all Connecting-Fix pack apps (the only exception is SAWeatherProvider_signed.apk) on my GS2 i9100 with android 4.4.2 SlimKat rom.
Connecting the Gear always generate an error but the paring and connection procedure will complete correctly.
I want to buy gear fit but i am not sure it will work so i wont buy, maybe buy smartwatch i dont know (

Hi,
I just bought a Amazfit Pace today. I tried to connect it to my phone (Huawei P20 Pro) immediately, but to my dismay, I only got "Couldn't Pair" error repeatedly. After some research, I found out that the older firmware have an issue to connect to Android 8.1 or later. Many articles suggested that I should connect the watch to a device running Android 8.0 or earlier, then get the firmware update, and then connect to the new phone.
The problem is, I don't have any device that is running with older Android. Both my LG V20 and Huawei P20 Pro is running on Android 8.1. In that case how can I update the firmware of the watch without connecting to the phone? Is there any way to update via PC?
Must be someone around you with Android phone and older version. Should be easier to convince such person to install the app, update the watch and uninstall than root (avoid warranty) and flash with pc.

It can be done from the computer too, no need to use a second phone. Check Global Huami Amazfit Smartwatches Group on Facebook (link on @1immortal signature ).
use these files for a manual update of the watch from your PC - https://mega.nz/#F!SI1XWSwC!2uYCCJ0e6vweO0LK-fDndA
Thanks guys, I managed to get it updated via old tablet I've kept it in my drawer for so long that I even forgot it. Now I've received the firmware update (1.3.8a) and able to connect to my phone.
now the problem is, once connected to my phone, there is a notification saying that Rom version 2.8.1.0 is available and asking me to update. I clicked update but nothing happened. It's a bit annoying now. Has anyone encountered this issue? I tried to connect my watch to my other phone (LG V20) and also it happened the same. I hope I don't need to go back to my tablet for another firmware update.
you need to wait, the 2.x.x.x update is a full rom, its some 300MB

Yes, from the watch, go to Settings> Connections and connect to Wifi. Then, go to Settings > Update. There it will download the latest version and install.

When I try to connect to Wifi, it asks me to write the password in the app, but the app doesn't show me a field for this. Can you help me please how to connect to Wifi network?
I had some minor annoyances with this too, bought the watch in official store 2 days ago. Just give it couple of tries, on a phone with android 7. You will succeed eventually. As I said, minor annoyance but since I updated it, I enjoy it
What I do see happening now, though, is probably large number of returns from people who don't know a lot about this kind of stuff. Store opened 2 days ago in Croatia, probably set some records, there was a line in front of the store whole day, it would be a shame if many people came back third day with complaints about unusable watches.

Try to un-install and re-install the Amazfit Watch app. You need to be in the ROM version 1.3.8a and pair the watch with the phone. Then, open the app before you do anything. Connect the watch to Wifi. Once the watch asked u to enter Wifi password on the phone, the phone should prompt you to do it.
