Hi all,
as the GSI topic here is still having a few issues, i have created a gsi overlay as per phhussons instructions:
https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki/How-to-create-an-overlay
The source code can be found here:
https://github.com/mKenfenheuer/vendor_hardware_overlay
Build/install instructions:
(Assuming you have a recent Ubuntu/Debian/Mint Linux machine running)
1. Install xmlstarlet and dos2unix
2. Go to build folder
3. Run bash build.sh
4. Copy treble-overlay-realme-x2pro.apk to /system/overlay in your gsi.
5. add the following property to /vendor/build.prop or replace with the attached build.prop
# Patch to add device specific match for treble overlays by mkenfenheuer
ro.vendor.build.overlay.deviceid=RMX1931
Works (confirmed by me):
- Always on display
- 90hz display
'Should' be working:
- Enables DT2W option but enabling does not seem to have any effect to me.
- VOLTE - i cannot test as my carrier does not offer this anymore
- more reliable network connection (i have noticed far less lte issues, but this is my perception)
MISC:
- Imported the settings from realme vendor (i don't know if they are nescessary)
If there are any issues, simply delete the file from /system/overlay with recovery file manager and reboot.
I've added the compiled apk to this post, in case you do not want to build it yourself.

As i have currently not flashed any gsi, i would ask you guys to test please.
Preferably with phhussons AOSP 10 gsi.

I copy your .apk overlay to /system/overlay and reboot. I am on evolution gsi phh based. Nothing change as far as i notice.
Great initiative @mKenfenheuer !
I'll look into the settings to see if there are other that we could use!
@ospeto from what I see in the commits try to see if volte works and if you can switch user profiles.

I can switch user profiles just fine. Havent test volte though. By the way , the maximum brightness of gsi roms are not as bright as stock rom. Is there any fix for it?. I tried setting backlight to 255 but still not fixed.

I assume switching user profiles has not been working until now?
I have just unlocked my bootloader and started working on the kernel source so lets hope i can get this moving.
I will focus on the kernel first and once this is working we can start with getting other things working.

I haven't switch user profile before so i also am not sure. Should i delete your apk and test again?. I can't test volte cuz my sim provider stopped supporting volte. Thank you so much for your effort. I hope you can fix brightness, 90hz display and on display fingerprint. That would be very helpful for gsi users.
The fingerprint must be an overlay issue because even with bootloader unlocked it still works
Problems I'm facing with evolutionx gsi
1-no fingerprint or face unlock (face unlock was removed from Android Q but it can be added)
2-there's no 90 hz refresh rate
3-speaker volume is lower than color is
4-brightness is slightly lower than color os also
5-need the stock camera app for video recording because gcam isn't that reliable with video recording

There is a fix for the 90hz issue for the OPPO device
90hz just fixed with dtbo.img flashing. U can find it on your how to flash android 10 gsi post's comment. I am using with 90hz now and it is working flawlessly.

Yeah just flashed it and it's amazing
@exadeci all changes were merged into phhussons main repo and will be available in the next release.
He will also include a option in settings to force the display to a specific frame rate (eg.g 60hz) as 90hz will be the default with the overlay.
Sorry for maybe stupid question, but what letters “GSI” stand for?

Hello , i think maximum brightness on gsi roms are not as bright as stock one. Is it gsi rom's bug or do we need overlay for it. I want to watch HDR content so i hope this can be fixed.

Hi All
Since there is all sorts of development running at the moment and the treble Pie has been put within radar, I thought I make a grouped topic/discussion only for this sGSI version. Some known install procedure, adds and also the pros and cons about this version so everybody can learn.
As I have seen and heared, some users are confused and didn't find all data and files needed to boot, I grouped them here in order and add some other files to finalize what you can do with this version at the moment.
I give all the credits to those who made this possible so far.
Correct me where needed.
Base : https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...ment/rom-android-p-developer-preview-t3816659 thnx @erfanoabdi
Pre-requirements :
*unlocked bootloader
*B12 Nfound
Files needed :
1. TWRP 3.2.1.8 treble thnx @NFound
2. AXON7_GPT_ADD_VENDOR_800MB.zip @djkuz
3. Project_Treble_v1.1_Axon7-by-NFound.zip @NFound
4. P-PR1-sGSI-Aonly.zip - extract the 7z to the img and put it on extSD
5. POST-sGSI_1_v0.14.zip
6. POST-sGSI_2_v0.17.zip
7. POST-sGSI_3_v0.5.zip
Installation :
a Install TWRP 3.2.1-8 - TREBLE, reboot into twrp
b reboot to EDL
c Install AXON7_GPT_ADD_VENDOR_800MB.zip through Miflash (so extract files to same folder name and search it via Miflash)
d reboot into twrp again
e format system, data, cache, wipe vendor
f install Project_Treble_v1.1_Axon7-by-NFound.zip. This will 'resize' vendor to a +-500mb / afaik also compatible with LOS15 (treble) now, betas(B01,B12), all official roms A7, GSI's
g install P-PR1-sGSI-Aonly.zip, so tap install/img and choose the img file and flash
h install the 1, 2, and 3 Post-sGSI files in order, so mount /vendor and flash those 3 files.
i Reboot
After boot :
*use the gms , install it and create an account on google. It will speed up installation
* use Gcam to have a working camera : https://github.com/AospExtended/platform_vendor_aosp/blob/8.1.x/prebuilt/common/apk/Gcam.apk
* use this patch to have settings working in camera : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77296562&postcount=55 thnx @yarecco
* disable the navbar with : go to vendor / build.prop and add "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1"
or flash this A2017X Vendor NavBar Remover
* reverse softkeys : https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/themes/mod-soft-key-reverse-using-synapticsdsx-t3827574
* for those who have call issues : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77285228&postcount=22 thnx @atakan33
* best, even on v1.1 to flash the framework overlay again : https://www.sendspace.com/file/x7jv8q. Makes DT2W work as it should !
*flash the pr1-lag-fix.zip to get a smoother experience thnx @atakan33 to mention it
As far as I know these things work :
*playstore....
*magisk 16.4, 16.7 working ok - safetynet pass ok confirmed on 16.7 - all should work, only a temp problem : https://twitter.com/topjohnwu/status/1029239685338419200?s=09
*full root r/w
*modules like youtube, jojoc....
*adaway
*call app but with ECHO so other persons hear themselves... for some members, even without Volte, the echo is note there and call volume can be adjusted
*no overheating with the v1.1
*better battery performance since v1.1
*dt2w works if you flash the framework overlay again when you're already booted. I uploaded it here since it got lost : https://www.sendspace.com/file/x7jv8q
* fast charge works, no heating at all
* spilt screen : just long press the icon in recents thnx @SantiHurtado
Not working :
*auto-brightness...or not in a way we're used to.... - there is no quick settings toggle, so if you want to untick auto, go to settings/display...
*dolby , but try this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77289658&postcount=31 thnx @yarecco NOT WORKING - tested it myself and even bootloop when removing them. So if you want to try BACKUP FIRST !
*usb bug : greyed out so no control - in dev options you can choose an option but the usb setting still will be greyed out
......
Hope you can join in to give your opinion and add some more feedback to the pros and cons.

Based on AospExtended thread, I have done step 1 and 2. At present, I am on the latest AospExtended treble. I was wondering if someone can tell me if I need to do step 3 to 7. Do I need these ONLY if I want to try other GSI Roms? Or, do I need to do all of them regardless sooner or later?
Thanks.
EDIT: After more reading on the other thread, I think I understand more about this. Step 4 to 7 are to install the GSI rom. I guess my question now is if for now I want to keep using the latest AospExtended treble (Oreo), do I need to do step 3? Thanks
The GCAM link does not work. Saying file too large to display.

A2017X_vendor_navbar_remover
For those who don't want to mess with their build.prop, just flash this and it will remove the navbar (if there is).
It'll work on all vendor build.props in future.
Backup of original build.prop will be created in /vendor so you can always revert if needed.
1. Since DT2W wasn't working, as in my experience and many others, on V1.1, I reflashed the Framework Overlay again and DT2W is working now.
2. Also, seems with Volte working properly, @kountry83, could manage to get the incall echo disappear and make decent calls. Even call volume is adjustable.
We're testing on TG (feel free to join too) further on.
3. The Dolby DDP and Audiomodification Lib seems not to work properly. Even bootloop when removing it...Did someone succeed in Dolby ?
4. flash the pr1-lag-fix.zip to get a smoother experience thnx @atakan33 to mention it
Dolby doesn't work, FC when start app. I don't have remove it, but can test it.

You're good to go on the B12 bootstack from NFound. Rest is in description of OP to boot any (s)GSI in future :good:
Hello. This is a build of descendant targeted at Ali that has been shared/used on telegram for awhile now. Original developer of the rom is Dil3mm4.
Must be used on official pie base (vendor/boot, etc). If on Oreo base, you must use the official gsi variant instead. This is March security patch but has patch level overridden for safetynet.
Changes from official gsi variant:
- gapps/vanilla builds are separate with AppInfo reverts in vanilla build to fix settings without gapps.
- Google Fi completely works including carrier switching. Various other carrier/radio improvements.
- Prints/props from official pie release to pass safetynet/device registration out of the box.
- Targeted at armv8-a cortex-a53 opposed to armv7-a-neon generic.
- Qcom IMS for volte, other carrier blobs added.
- Fully functional MotCamera2 incl portrait, play store upgradeable.
- Qcom perf fixed/integrated.
- sdcardfs enabled.
- (SUBS BROKE FOR NOW)No treble overlay apk in use, so substratum works without additional hacks.
- hwui/art configs from stock pie.
- qcom sepolicy to fix battery stats being reset on reboot and for qcom telephony support.
- NFC removed entirely from build due to constant background crashing.
- Beginning of notification sound being cut off fixed (audio offload changes).
- Call recording setting shown (don't break the law in your jurisdiction).
- Hotword enrollment blobs added from stock pie. Fixes voice enrollment, but hotword only works over Bluetooth or headset devices.
Bugs:
- okgoogle hotword doesn't work.
- no nfc.
- upgrades sometimes affect safetynet (unsure here).
- Boost mobile may have issues with LTE. Some users report as working, others not. Recent IMS changes may have fixed this (they fixed Sprint for me on Fi).
- Some networks may have DHCP issues (fix incoming).
Install instructions:
- Be on leak or official pie base (vendor, boot, etc). Be sure to backup system prior. Be using dejello's unofficial twrp.
Files: descendant for pie with G6 specific changes (always download most recent of gapps or vanilla (nongapps).
https://github.com/RealJohnGalt/descendant_releases/releases
Recommended camera and long exposure mod: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g6/themes/gcam-4-2-mods-magisk-2x-exposure-mod-ali-t3917609
Disable encryption zip: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/universal-dm-verity-forceencrypt-t3817389
- Wipe data if unencrypted. Format data if encrypted (will erase entire internal storage. You can stay unencrypted even on stock pie to keep data).
- Flash image to system.
- Flash Forceencrypt zip and magisk 18.1 zip.
- Reboot to setup wizard ?.
- If magisk manager is not displayed due to data wipe, there are no issues with reflashing magisk with your device setup.
Upgrading: Flash system.img and reboot. Reflash microg if using, no need for reflash of magisk or gapps if using either.
All good on VZW xt1925-6 ontop of Brazilian stock pie
I missed some props in R3 for volte. It will be fixed in R3.1, but until then you may install voenabler in magisk to add the props for volte/vowifi.
One doubt, that is an new system based on pie like lineageOs?
Is 64x?
Can I use it normally?
I'm waiting for a os 64x for mine g6 xt1925-3 64 ROM like One..
If yes for all mine questions I'll trie to install it...

It's just an arm system image to be installed on top of official pie. Arm64 support will take vendor and kernel/ramdisk changes as well, and is quite a lot to do -- especially alone.
R4 uploaded. Changes from R3:

- Fixed volte.

Yes, fingerprint gestures is currently a WIP that will be integrated soon through an open source lineage-based alternative fingerprint gesture handler.
I'm also going to start doing builds of resurrection remix with these repos (changes).

I've been running it as a DD for around a month, as well as many others (my household has two G6 in use, and both have been on it). Aside from bugs listed, nothing else I'm aware of.

If you're after gcam, the linked 3.2 bsg mod does take very good photos aside from dots and vignette that will probably never be fixed on our device. It's a lens issue that affects all gcam versions that other phones such as the op3/5 had, but with their camera sensors it was easier to fix. The OV12A10 (and omnivision in general) is notoriously hard to work on. Many tried for mi a1 dots which had a huge userbase with no luck.
I've only been able to improve digital noise slightly through using lavender eeprom and disabling digital gain while in low light.

Hello Folks,
I'm planning to support the Mi 9 with XASP and i just need the Camera Media Profiles Config File from a AOSP based ROM of Your Device. Could anyone pull it and upload it here for Me!?
Should be in /system/vendor/etc and/or /system/etc...
I'm also searching for a Maintainer for XASP. If someone is interested just PM Me and i'll share the Details with You (You just need to repack/upload from GitHub using a Windows PC or Android Phone once the Month)
Hi, you can find the dump of stock ROM here: https://github.com/TadiT7/xiaomi_cepheus_dump/
Not sure if it changes, but at the moment I'm running GSI AOSP so if you need a dump of the profiles I can upload this one too.

Looks like i have to use and edit all of them. Thinks i want to do are:
-4K Front Camera Video recording
-Higher default Picture Quality by less compression
-Higher default Mem Cap for Picture Processing
-Higher Bitrates for Audio and Video Profiles
-Higher default FPS Rates on Video Recording
And maybe more if i find something interesting... The Profile from Tadi is btw. a awesome Thing for Me. I always had to download full System for a few Files. That makes everything more easy. Thanks again for sharing!
As reading your requirements this will work with PHHs Treble AOSP 9.0 ROM ?

PHH Treble AOSP 9 (Vanilla ARM64, NoSU) should be the best Choice
Magisk will come in Stable and Beta (18.1 and 19 right now). Does the Mi 9 has Orange Fox or at least TWRP with working AROMA Support? I have seen Problems with AROMA on the Mi 8 while the Poco F1 can flash the Patch fine (Same Specs and Systems can be used across them). I changed back to AROMA Installers since Magisk Modules are forcing restrictions to the Patch such as Device Security Enhancements and Setup Wizard edits. You can follow Me on GitHub to see what's actually going on.
BR
Can't wait for this! If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.

Hello
here is a Android 10 release of crDroid 6.5 from 16.4.20 for download:
https://yadi.sk/d/TD-kDw6UvZbvoQ
I got it running on my Mi 9T, without any issues.
Even the fingerprint sensor works very fine, its my daily driver.
It has lots of customization options
It is official rom?
Can I flash it on indian k20
I dont think its official.
I am not the developer , but I am very happy with crDroid on my Davinci.
I tested very much other roms, every one had issues with something.
Mostly with the fingerprint sensor or the customization options.
With a backup from your previous system its worth a test
Is it smooth ROM like, for instance, Pixel Expirience? Does ANX Camera works in it? Which gapps do you use on this ROM?
does all functions works ok?
I didnt find anything what is not working.
Pixel Exp. is nothing for me, to less options. But yes, it runs smooth.
The battery life is amazing.
I use opengapps nano, because when pixel launcher is installed the orignal laucher has problems.
And the gcam port from urnyx works very fine. Havent anx cam installed yet.
Volte/vowifi working? And stupid question but does it ask for FP when double tapping a notification or just pin?
Used to use crDroid back in my Samy S2 days so interested to see how its come along.

Volte is on per default, Wi-Fi calling can be enabled
Found the ROM on 4pda, the develop name is Razziell of that forum, this is the know bugs written on the post:
ANX camera not supported!
After making calls on the bt headset while playing music, you need to reconnect the headset / headphones, since the audio stops playing (the same applies to the GU)
It is better to write about the problems found in telegram (link in the profile) or in qms.

Installation instructions:
Requires an unlocked bootloader and the presence of TWRP.
Installed on any stock firmware based on 10 android.
!! The firmware contains its own vendor - you don’t need to install others and it is extremely undesirable !!
It is required to install firmware from global 10 version 11.0.4 / 5 or the latest Chinese dev!

So this is trial and check, its working for one plus 6 on android 11 based custom roms didn't know working or not on stock OOS. As we knows that pixel 5 comes with adaptive sound that helps to improve audio quality through speaker by adjusting equilizers automatically as per surrounding noise condition.
Later developers released a magisk module for older pixel devices so i decided to try that module on one plus 6 not on stock rom but on evolution-x and its working.
So this module should work on one plus 6 please try and post in comment on which rom it's working.
But sound quality improvement is not too much noticible but its makes the some difference and its better to have latest google goodies on our device.
Root method:
First download and install this device Personalization apk a install it
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/device-personalization-services/device-personalization-services-r-9-playstore-pixel5-342894738-release/
Download adaptive sound enabler module download and flash via magisk
https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachments/adaptive_audio_settings_enabler-zip.5159569/?_gl=1*u23a0i*_ga*YW1wLW9adzVWSFVYcDd6Q0NRREZIMmdDRjlleE5LdFRPOExvbDJPVzlzMFhqZkJjWGYxdHgzUFVTUjlYczQyTDRQNEg.
After reboot when you goes in settings >sound> you will get new settings adaptive sound.
Non rooted method :
For this install device Personalization apk
ENABLE developers option after that enable usb debugging.
Now connect device to pc open cmd command prompt and type these commands and enter.
ADB COMMANDS:
adb shell
device_config put device_personalization_services AdaptiveAudio__enable_adaptive_audio true
device_config put device_personalization_services AdaptiveAudio__show_promo_notification true
Only drawback of nonrooted method is you need to repeat the above step as every reboot adaptive sound settings get disabled.
Here is small video tutorial and music test whether doing this is worthy or not
It does not work for me.
I'm on Android 10 and the app version has to be Q, not R.
I have installed and tested the Magisk module with various Q + versions and I can't get it to work.
