Hello, I am new to the forum. I sometimes have to record my work teleconferences so I have an app called 'Call Recorder - ACR' installed on my phone. After a software update I received from T-Mobile recently, the App only records my side of the conversation and no longer records both sides. Also, the app no longer shows the phone number or contact it just says "unknown." Is there a work around for this or perhaps another app that someone can suggest that will work even with this new software update I received from T-Mobile?
Thanks

I just recently installed "Extreme Call Blocker" on my Android Eris from Verizon.
I get the calls to go directly to VM and it deletes the call from the call history page, however the phone wont seem to hide the "missed call" notification from the top drop down menu.
I have made sure that inside the application and on the phone that the "missed calls" box is UNCHECKED... meaning IT SHOULD NOT SHOW.
But it does and here lies the problem. Powercycled the phone hoping that it just needed a chance to boot up with the phone. Yet nothing different happens.
If you use or if you can check in to the problem for me that would be greatly appreciated.
I may also like to onclude that I downloaded the apk file from 4shared, would this have anything to do with it? Maybe a corrupt file? Or it is something that deals with Verizon?
FOCUSED ON:
Blocking Calls: DONE
Blocking SMS: DONE
Deleting missed calls from logONE"
Hiding "Missed Call" notification: NO RESULTS ATM
A quick HELPFUL response would be awesome. Although I know how exceptional this forum can be at saying "use the search tool"
I'm not familiar with Extreme Call Blocker myself but I know that starting with either froyo or gingerbread, 3rd party apps no longer have access to the method for clearing the missed call notification. That's one of the main drawbacks with using one of the dialer/contact replacement apps as well. Someone might know of a workaround but I unfortunately do not.
Got a stalker or mistress? LoL

Anyone get call recording to work in ics?

I assume it needs kernel support to be done. And we won't have the ability to add it until HTC release the ICS kernel source for this phone which won't be until after the official update.
Bump!
I just (finally) got around to installing Scott's CleanROM 4.5 Pro edition. (It totally rocks Scott. Good work. Donation soon to come.)
Anyway, I've been looking around for a way to record phone calls. I want both my voice and the person on the other end. I don't want any of that speakerphone **** - I want a digitally captured stream of all the audio. It's legal in my state to do this.
Anyone with any ideas how to accomplish this?
Call recorder but its not free its by valex or something like that

This works just fine (100%) for incoming and outgoing sound, at the same time, on Newt's XXX 3 (super old version).
So it's a Sense 4 ROM. But this works, without issue, with all default settings. Test it on Sense 3.6? It's definitely ICS though here, and it works. As far as I know, my kernel is virtually the same?
Hi there,
I started playing with callrecorder yesterday.
The app's thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1441643
There's a trial version in the first link of that thread.
It works fine on my rezound (s-off, Nils' Business sense 3.6 v5.7)
One problem I'm seeing is that it *always* records calls. There's settings that are supposed to make that not happen but those settings are being ignored on my phone...
I am interested in a call recorder app. but all of them I have tested only record through the mic so the other side of the conversation can not be heard that well. Does anyone have a call recorder app that works without using the mic? If so what rom are you using? Thanks in advance.
An alternate method of recording calls is to use Google Voice for all your calls. It has a built-in system allowing for calls to be recorded on their servers and then accessible just like your voicemails are from the Google Voice app or the website.

I am aware of this but it does not do it automatically, right? and I believe there is a beep while you talk?
Can anyone test call recording. I use call recorder but there are several others that have native (line in and out) recording. If someone could try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder or https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appstar.callrecorder I would appreciate it.
I know this thread is old but I use acr with no issues what so ever...calls are nice and clear...

Weird. I replied to this myself after I got the phone. Call recorder by @SkAlvex works perfectly. It even records while using Wi-Fi calling which my s6 could never do. Thanks for the reply though. I personally like call recorder better mainly because I am used to it and additionally because there is a link to recordings from within each contact.

BoldBeast recorder is another option that has almost always worked with every phone. They have great support and it's free. Root is not required (not attainable anyway, except on the EU version, for now).
I've tested it on the G5 and it works (though I haven't given bluetooth recording a try yet). Wi-fi calling recording does not work though.
Edit: Actually it works with Wi-Fi calling! Sweet!
If anyone is still reading this - don't upgrade to Android 7.
I did upgrade my LG-H860 (dual sim G5) and then of course discovered that call recording APIs are either removed or hidden - no software works!
Now looking for a way to downgrade back to Android 6.0.X....

Try ACR. It is working on my H850 (no root). If you can't make that app work with default settings, just choose mode "Android 7 all (a)"

I don't know why, but ACR does not work on my LG-H860 - the other side is very quiet. I'm using Boldbeast Call Recorder now. it's manual recording (unless u buy the license), but it works perfect on my phone even with this android 7.0. Thank God!
I have an AT&T G4 running Lollipop. I keep missing calls and voicemails and unlike any other phone I have owned this one will not notify me again that there was a missed call or that I have a voicemail, or text message that I haven't acknowledged. I have checked out a couple of apps in the play store and the reviews by G4 owners says that they don't work on the G4. Does anyone have an app that will remind me every 5 minutes that I have a missed call, message, or VM? I have tried searching but the Missed Call Reminder are all very generic terms that bring up all sorts of results and Google seems to gladly ignore the variable "LG G4".
Thank you.

Try '' Alert me " from Play store.
This one seems to be working for me. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dan_ru.ProfReminder&hl=en

I wrote a simple opensource tool to remind periodically about missed notifications with the selected sound. You can select any applications which should be monitored.

Using it on my Realme C3 and loving it. I preferred sound/audio reminder over screen flash or camera flash type apps. Thanks for the app, Eugene. Saving me pulling my hair out after buying the phone and realized it does not have notification reminder function built in like the Samsung!
Note: if the app doesn't work, or stopped working after a while, it's most likely not the app's fault but some power saving or optimization app in your phone is killing the app's background processes. Find it and it'll work properly.
Mic access QS is fake, Can anyone explain what is this?
Doesn't look like the native recording app on my Pixel 6, don't even know for sure what phone he's using. So he's inferring that the mike is still working for that app at least when it is marked as blocked in the shortcut. I just trried to duplicate this on my phone using the stock recorder app and the mic was indeed blocked correctl;y. It is also blocked correctly from phone calls. I found that out yesterday when someone called me and they couldn't hear me.
So, what is this? Either he's found a way around the mic access block, or it''s a faked video. Since the display doesn't show any waveforms on the "playback" , I'm calling fake video.

Sorry, without this info I was grasping at straws. I don't use whatsapp. Maybe someone who does can test this for you.

I think it always asks for permission if you install WhatsApp on your new phone and start recording voice in the chat.

I thought your question was about the permission but just now I saw it clearly that you just canceled and it records voice on WhatsApp. Go to phone settings and apps -> WhatsApp -> permission and change mic to not allow! Then restart your device and see if you get the same problem.

The "Mic Access QS" should be blocking the mic permission for the whole device even if the permission is enabled for specific app.
Is from a 3th party App.. I had the same with SnapTube..
