The application made for the LG G8X that enables any app to be put in wide mode also works on the LG V60 ThinQ.
It is available from the Play Store.
Original G8X thread here.
I contacted the developer to see if he can duplicate the app for the V60, but in the meantime the G8X version works on the V60.

What do you mean by duplicating the app as it works fine, is there a feature not working in tbe v60?
Which version you was using?
I just downloaded 1.1.2 version, app name changed to " wide screen for LG".
This version didn't work with my new v60.
1.1.3
I tried the latest version 1.1.3 on my T-Mobile LG v60 and it did not work.

That is weird, t-mobile here and it works on 1.1.3 the app was updated to widemode for LG and it is working.
Make sure to go into the quick settings and you'll see it called "Wide Mode", then you'd have to connect the second screen, then from any app swipe down your quick settings and add it.
I uninstalled and reinstalled and it's now working. Thank you.
Thanks works like a champ.

I had no issues installing and using the newest version of this app available on the Google Play Store.
Every app I threw at it (not many, admittedly) worked as well as I could have hoped.
I wound up retiring my dual-screen accessory for now because it made typing in portrait incredibly uncomfortable and the neither Nova Launcher nor Fluid Navigation Gestures work on the second screen.
Neat idea, but the experience is just too compromised for my preferred software environment to offset the cumbersome implementation.

I see the Ultra is not supported for this App. Disappointing considering we still can't download with Iplayer.......
Devices which can use Anywhere app

Sony Xperia Z (C6602/03)

It's Virgin's responsibility to update their app. Send them a mail and ask if they can update it.
The Ultra is missed by a lot of developers. I've had a good response rate from developers and they have all said that they acknowledge the issue and will get an update done.

They have only just added any Android support - took them ages. Use the "Contact Us" form on their website to request it to be added, that's what I've done.
If you are rooted there uses a module for xposed called play store fixes which tricks it into thinking the dpi of the phone is different.

I don't believe it's a DPI issue, it's model.
Answer from Virgin Media, not good news:
Thanks for your e-mail to Virgin Media about the availability of the
Sony Xperia Z Ultra on TV Anywhere.
We understand your concern.
Right now, we're sorry but it doesn't look like we've got any plans to

I don't see why there's a problem, there are many android devices with the same screen resolution and processor.
I would try one of the market helper apps, or xposed, to make Google Play think you're on a recognised device. I had to do this with previous phone, Note 2, to load the tesco clubcard TV app.

Doesn't the phone have to be rooted to use xposed? If so, then the app won't work anyway on rooted devices according to the comments in the store
A late reply but I have a One X which is also not supported. I used Device Spoofer to make my device appear as the HTC One. I was able to download and install the app from the market. In addition the app's record, remote control and program manager functions work perfectly however the ability to watch programs on the phone is blocked by a root checker.

You can only install the app on an approved device though (officially). The TVguide app has record functions but it doesn't have have network remote features.
Why do they do a root check? You can use the software on any PC, with whatever hacks you want installed, but there's some obsession with root on Android...
I have the H850 European unlocked version of the G5 but am using it on the US AT&T network. Based on documentation for the AT&T specific H820, there us a visual voicemail function that shows up on the dialer in the phone app. Does anyone know of a way to get this working on the H850?
Thanks for any advice or direction.

The AT&T Visual Voicemail app is available on Google Play.
I tried to get this to work on my unlocked G5 (RS988) used on AT&T here in the US, and it says the app is not compatible with my device. This is total BS because the AT&T branded G5 comes with AT&T Visual Voicemail pre-loaded. If someone figures out how to get this working, please share. Thanks.

I don't have AT&T but it will install from the Play Store.
I am thinking the phone / contacts app from the stock AT&T ROM and maybe other components would do it, based on the orange circled icon in this image from the AT&T help documents:
I could not find any links to download the ROM / updates (latest was H82011k) except for OTA instructions. So we would need to find out what files we need and get someone with the H820 to copy the files out for us - any volunteers?
I downloaded the AT&T visual voicemail app from the play store, but it is for U-verse and unified messaging customers, and does not work for standard wireless customers like me.
So I finally found something that works. AT&T has a visual voicemail app but the G5 is set as incompatible in the Play Store. Based on AT&Ts help page they think it is already installed on the device, not considering there are multiple versions.
Anyway I downloaded the APK from here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/att-se...al-voicemail-4-0-0-0095-android-apk-download/
I tried using Market Helper to change my device to a compatible one but could not get that to work.
I verified the above app works. Even transcribes your voicemail! I am just missing the shortcut on the dialer screen to the VVM app, but I can live with that.
Hope this helps other AT&T users.
I just found what I think is the most current version of this app: http://apk-files.org/apk/com.att.mobile.android.vvm/at%26t+visual+voicemail/
Welcome,
I install Horizon Go apk (sideload) and when i open application i see only in vertical view (1/3 part of TV), when i choose tv channel (in horizon go) the video material is in full screen mode. Is it a possibility to change display orientation in settings file? I can't find Horizon Go folder (com.lgi.orionandroid).
On different applications which are in vertical view the solution is to install tablet version of this apk but there is no horizon Go for tablet.

Do you use this application on Nvidia Shield TV?
I try to use many similar applications "set orientation" and in Horizon GO main window, suggestions works (full screen) nice but when i choose channel to watch, the video is not possible to have on full screen (Upper half of screen is video material but second half is tv program) and full screen button doesn't work.
Ah I see, they screwed up the update. Just keep your apk at version 2.3.3 and you should be fine

No problem. I already figured this out because I was trying to use updated apk to see if they made the ui operable with remotes or controllers without mouse input. Unfortunately the newer apk don't work. I have ordered an air mouse to make it a bit simpler for me to use the app without having to use the big ass controller
Welcome
After update NVidia TV to Nougat , Horizon Go v 2.3.3 doesn't work
I check newer versions but only version 2.3.11 and newest 2.3.12 are working but with horizontal issue (set orientation apk doesn't help, like in first post).
Hi,
On my NVidia Shield TV (2015) 16GB with the latest Nougat firmware i have the Horizon app running.
To get it fullscreen i use the HALauncher and set it so phone apps will display in landscape mode.
And i am using the Horizon Go 2.3.9 app ( the only one that has not got the overlay information screen bug )
As footnote: I also have the Shield TV Rooted and running RootCloak Plus to hide Root, no issues as of yet.

Thanks for your reply. I have the same issue with the new software update and will definitely try this. How do you set up rootcloak to hide root for horizon go? I have tried to add the app to the list but horizon go doesn't work on my rooted tablet and phone (Android 6)
I just installed Root Cloak lite and kept it on default settings.
Tested that i still had SU access and the Horizon Go app worked without any issues.

Geez, dont konw if you can block complete access, but you could go into app manager, locate that app, remove all permissions and prevent cellular data use - or at least backgound use.

Ya i am telling some example for this, i have MX player free version, which will show annoying Ads all the times that everyone knows. if we have blocked this app from accessing internet( not only in background but permanently ) then it wont show any Ads. this is what happened with my previous mobile 10 or G which has pure android and it has not a single modification in Stock Android. I just exchanged that 10 or G to buy this LG V30+, other wise i would have show the Screenshot where the option present for blocking the app from internet in Data section of the settings.

It's for apps that don't have a native dark mode. That setting would force them to adopt dark mode. Like the facebook app. Samsung and Pixel have that option but it doesn't look like LG phones have it :/.
I would love something like that, but don't think it exists for G8X. Unbelievable that Google Hangouts does not have a dark mode yet . I'm surprised Facebook doesn't, but I don't use it.
