I think global phones imported from China are usually much cheaper, but I could be wrong.
Guess it'll have to balance price with warranty and aftercare.

I would buy a CN version and install a EU rom, but apparently its lacking band 20 I think. Making it a bad choice for UK.

I didn't think mi has an official store?
I have seen the "Xiaomi Mi Store" which currently has 20% off. At the moment it's just under £600 for the global version.
Currently they only have the the mi 10 global version, so I'm waiting for the Pro edition. I want to compare the price of both before committing to either.

Here is the Aliexpress link
The discount brings the phone down to $ 719.00 - 744.99 which while high, is better than the recent announcements that this phone was going to cost $999 or more!
Seriously, who would by a Xiaomi phone at that price? Especially when Xiaomi phones are always missing a lot of bands, and we already know that this one is missing bands. If Xiaomi expects premium prices then they should offer 100% of the same bands offered by Samsung, One Plus, iPhone, and Google. Because at those prices there is no excuse to short change customers on anything. Including IP ratings, HD streaming and locally available, and solid customer service. Since we know those things are not yet available, this phone will fail horribly at selling units, that is unless they drop the price.
It's disappointing to see Xiaomi, who have always been about building quality phones at a low price follow in the footsteps of Huawei and others by substantially marking up the prices.
I had planned on buying this unit but now will wait and see what happens. Keep in mind that a Snapdragon 865 is only 25 % more powerful that a Snapdragon 855. While the Snapdragon 855 is 45% more powerful than the Snapdragon 845.
Finally, there is no doubt that this is a fantastic phone. Congrats to Xiaomi for building their best phone yet. But as I mentioned it is missing the things needed to be eligible for top shelf status.
Something else to consider: The phones are definitely cheaper if ordering from China, here is the issue with that : Miui 12 will be released sooner rather than later, and the Global version of Miui has been rumored to be evolving into a very different experience from the traditional Miui.

Huge thanks for your reply, it has really helped me.
I didn't realise the global version would miss any bands (I thought that was just the Chinese version.)
I've now checked the official Xiaomi page and the global version of the mi 10 is missing 3400MHz (Band 42)
Band 42 is used by all the UK network for 5g. (Including my network 3uk)
I'm not going to spend extra money getting a 5g phone if it's got a 5g band missing.
I need to look for another phone now, shame because I loved the phone and especially the camera [emoji3525]

Are you sure, I've read good things about "Xiaomi Mi Store" and that they do ship genuine global versions.
It is listed as a global version and the global version has just been released for sale (or pre-order in Italy and Germany) on the same day.
After a little more research it appears even the Galaxy s20 ultra doesn't have 3400MHz (Band 42) either. I must be missing something here. I obviously need to do further research

In the description it's missing b20 band. If it's accurate description, that's not the global version.
I'm waiting for it to drop on Amazon Italy, Spain or Germany. Amazon Itália promised pré sales for yesterday, but it's still not available
thats a common scam from chinese sellers. they announce a phone as global, when actually its the chinese version with a global rom flashed

What carriers does it work on?
It'll work on AT&T and T-Mobile in the USA, plus most other GSM carriers. It has the following LTE bands: 2, 4, 5, 12, 17. It comes factory unlocked.
Who makes this phone?
It's made by Chinese manufacturer Huawei, though this phone is sold under the honor brand (that's with a lowercase "h"). Huawei also made the much-adored Nexus 6P, but you probably already knew that.
Who is this phone for?
It's a phone for "everyone" because it has a budget-friendly price with midrange specs. Power users might not like the specifications, but ultimately this is a very well-rounded phone at a terrific price.
What's the battery life like?
The honor 5X has a 3,000mAh power pack which the company claims allows for a day and a half of "heavy" use. Specifically, the company claims 27 hours of talk time and 740 hours of standby time. The phone does support fast-charging with a 2amp charger, but does not have wireless charging.
Why doesn't it have Android Marshmallow?
The phone comes with Android 5.1.1 and honor claims a Marshmallow update is due in 2016. If you want it sooner, keep your eyes on the forums at XDA.
How can I get it, how much is it, and when does it launch?
It's $199 on Amazon and begins shipping January 16, 2016.
Zomg, I am not ready to buy it but I want to know more!
Check out the official honor 5X website
I'm currently considering this phone.
Couple of questions for those knowledgeable on Huawei's products:
1. How good is Huawei's software update program? What's it comparable to if you're experienced with other manufacturers?
2. How well supported are their products here on XDA?
Thanks for your time.
I dont love what Huawei does with its android customization. any word on an unlocked bootloader? This thing could be great with cyanogenmod.

1. They've said this phone should get monthly updates and said that it will be updated to M.
2. They have four phones available to buy direct from gethuawei.com. One is the Nexus 6p. Two of the remaining three have official CM builds. Take that for what it's worth.

probably the Chinese version.
Anyways. Reading the recent XDA article on it, I became curious. What do I miss out on by not having a gyroscope?
there is many things that i've been confusing about in HONOR 5X
1-the SD615 ( cuz lately i've been on G2 SD800 AND S4 SD600 ) not sure if it's gonna give me the same experience or no
2-supporting the device from the main company and the other developers (Such as CM,RR)
3-RAM : some say it's 3GB and others say it's 2GB i think i'll wait until the release to see if they'll launch the 3gb with a bit higher price
4-Still not enough accessories out there for this device
=====
but overall i think it's good device with sporting a med-range specs for daily use
also the screen is kinda nice with good contrast in sun
There are Chinese version and US version of the phone.
US version comes with 2 GB RAM and will be available for Jan 31st.
The deal breaker for many in USA is missing T-mobile support for Band 12. Phone is supporting it, but is not licensed by T-mobile so most likely it will be disabled.
Hi,
i'm still using Samsung Note 3 if I'll get this Honor 5X, is it a downgrade ? nothing wrong with Note 3, just had a new battery, running good now but just want a new phone and this one is cheap.
All sharings are welcome.
Thanks,
CVC
If this gets root and cyanogenmod, I might consider it but seems like a downgrade from Oneplus One besides fingerprint scanner. Project Ara where are you....?
Although someone just mentioned it, I just want to know about Rom development. Official CM and AOSP will be a necessity. NO EMUI or whatever that thing is!
I believe this phone would be a good upgrade (Great at $200) to my aging GS4 which constantly has "Sim card errors". I would also like to get Insurance and dont know if it exists since it sells on Amazon. Neither Newegg or honor website shows insurance options.
I am also considering OP2 and something soon so I hope this phone gets support here.
seems Official CM support is a given based on a couple posts in the Pre-order thread. One post by Huawei USA employee and one tweet also posted in that thread.
Once you have a phone with fingerprint, using phones without it sucks.

Yes, honor 5X supports unlocking the bootloader. You must register an account on the EMUI site and then you can generate a bootloader unlock code.

LOL! I had the same issues with my gs4. The huawei rep on here says they released the kernel source code and you can unlock the bootloader. I would bet money there will be some form of aosp rom within a month. The fact that huawei has a rep on here and they've done a lot with their website makes me think they are taking this phone and customers seriously. I don't expect them to bend over backwards for us but so far it's looking good.
I really feel let down here, in the UK/EU we won't get the additional hardware features like wireless charging and DAC yet we are still having to wait to learn when we get a release. Surely it's quicker and easier to manufacture kit with less hardware in it !?!
Double whammy, if i am going to have to wait then S8 here i come.
It will be interesting to see the price in the UK, might be why we have the most basic model.
If they charge a stupid price, then it will be a much harder sell.
S8 looks like it will be a stupid price, with current £/$

Agreed it will be a hard sell if they don't get the pricing right too, but they have the perfect opportunity to steal a march on Samsung and it looks like they might miss out completely with the S8 available for pre-order 29th March in an EU region according to the source in this article...

It's an easy decision for me, because I don't like AMOLED. Although if it is priced crazily I still won't get the G6.
The P10 Plus even has my attention and I'm not a fan of Huawei. (Despite the fact most of our internet infrastructure seems to run on their kit, lol).
I think the UK version is going to be £699 I have however imported the Korean version to the UK which cost me £680 and it has the 64gb storage and the 32bit dac

Seriously? I was monitoring the g6 to replace my g2. But no wireless charging or dac in Europe? Too bad for LG, because I won't buy it then.
I was considering importing the Korean version but have read that LG haven't honoured warranties in the past when people have done this. Not dropping £600 on a device with that type of risk (particularly with recent LG issues)

A few months too late, really strange move from Xiaomi : why didn't they launch it at the same time as the "Mi 9T"?? Plus, rebranding from Redmi to Xiaomi in Europe is a bit strange imho. Do they think we in Europe don't read the worldwide news? Additionally, they won't release the 8/256 version.
Btw, I wonder what will happen to the Mi 9 with a price that close...the real difference is the camera which seems better (to be honest even my Mi 8 takes better pics vs. K20 Pro).
Also I think its a little bit priced.
I'm not sure if I'll buy, long time waiting to be this difference.

You can import it from China (6/64 version) around 315 euros tax free and shipping included, and they're gonna sell it here for 430 euros? It will have a Global ROM for sure, lets see if its the same one as the India ROM (POCO launcher included) or not but still...
Btw i think if Europeans want to wait for a new phone they should wait for the Mi Mix 4. The 3rd was a bit of a flop because specs were too close to the Mi 8 which was great, lighter and cheaper but the Mix 4 specs will be spectacular according to rumors. Wait and see!

A lot of people doesn't want to import, and also the main problem is the warranty, people prefer to have a local store where they can go if the phone have an issue.
But anyway, for my part I will buy it on Aliexpress soon

Has it been confirmed that 8GB RAM/256GB storage version of 9T Pro will not be available for purchase globally?

As far as I can tell there has been no official launch of the phone, so nothing has been confirmed either way. There was the small announcement last week that it will be available in the Benelux region from the 20th, but it gave no specifics. Since then all we're seeing is the phone suddenly appearing for sale in various European websites. So far there doesn't appear to be any 8GB model being sold anywhere.
Even though the Mi 9 had 8/128 and 8/256 options in China, they were never made available on the global version, so it wouldn't be surprising if it turns out to be the same with this one.

only release in three asian countries , but i am sure there will be resellers
Hello,
my next phone will be the K20 Pro / 9T Pro. I need the 9T Pro because of the LTE B20, but it's only available with 6/128GB.
Does anyone know, if a 8/256GB Version is planned or will be released soon?
Thank you.

Just be sure it is not a k20 pro and already flashed with global rom as in this case u won't have B20
I believe you are in Germany as they have B20 LTE
As far as I know there is no 256 version for the 9T pro
And all the 256 versions out there are k20 pro with global roms
Try to contact xiaomi to be sure before purchase

Look at the Hong Kong Xiaomi site. There you will indeed see a global Mi 9T Pro with 8/256 GB. These have been on sale for a month or more now. There are a number of people on these forums that have bought them from eGlobalCentral. Sometimes the shipping has been slow, but when they arrive they are genuine Mi 9T Pro phones with 8/256 GB from Hong Kong.

I suggest you do a little research, before making statements like that...
Apologies guys for such a statement
My intention was good and wanted to help
May I ask some questions to the eglobal central phone to the guys that already got it from there?
Has it definitely B20?
What charger is included in delivery?
Is the (simple) standard case included?
Thanks in advance

It sure has B20 (I'm on it, all the time) as I already stated, in another thread.
Standard white ugly 18w charger. UK plug with adapter to 2-pin. Fast charge.
Simple black faux leather standard wallet case, in the option I linked to, above.
:good:

Since the price difference is so small, I'd never even consider purchasing the second best.
But to each, his own. I realize many people are on a budget, but in my case it was worth it.

It seems legit, since band 20 is 800Mhz. If you go for the Mi 9T Pro,
it will have the correct frequencies for Europe, including band 20.
Mine has the untouched global ROM, which is Euro compatible.
The Redm K20 Pro lacks band 20, Nfc, Netflix compatibility etc.
If I'm mistaken in any way, feel free to correct me on this!

I bought it, last month, unfortunately from Japan. Didn't get a charger, no headphone, was a docomo model So-51B,missed out big time on Dual Sim and some bands. Fortunately Airtel and jio wifi calling works. Badly want the dual Sim feature, if anyone could help anyhow to achieve it would be awesome. BTW beautiful phone.
does any one who lives in india, know if any sites sent international.
Before you buy check if volte and WiFi calling work

If you have any friends or relatives at UAE, try getting it through them. I requested One of my friend at Fujairah, UAE to order a Sony Xperia 1 iii (Dual SIM, SIM Free, 12 GB RAM, 256 GB Storage, Black) from Amazon UAE (amazon ae) website for me. Even though it is not available in UAE, we got an Amazon Prime Product Listing in which Amazon UK Seller was providing International Shipping to UAE. Total Amount came up to around ₹ 92 K (Phone ₹ 85 K, Shipping and Handling ₹ 827, Import Fees Deposit ₹ 6 K). Ordered on 13 March 22 and got it delivered on 17 March 22. Genuine Product from Sony UK, came in a sealed pack, unscathed. Unboxed and confirmed that everything is fine. He will be back by this month end. Eagerly waiting to take over the dream machine.

Hi Hazzay ...
Am using Airtel & Jio SIMs, the major 4G players in India. VoLTE and WiFi Calling is working fluently in mY Sony Xperia 1 III (XQ-BC52).
VoLTE in Action
Initially i searched for VoLTE option in the settings but could not find it. I was like OMG. 4G Calling came to my rescue.
Jio 4G LTE with VoLTE enabled, in Action.
Airtel 4G LTE with VoLTE enabled, in Action.
WiFi Calling.
Took over the Phone from my friend on the 1st week of April. Sorry for the much delayed reply, was busy with my professional commitments.
Ohh wooow.
Did you have to do anything to get it working?
