When you sleep, does your phone sleep, or does it stay up all night and crunch 1s and 0s? Rate this thread to express how you deem the speed at which the OnePlus 8 Pro's battery drains under standby conditions. A higher rating indicates that when the phone is not in use, the battery drains minimally.

Most my phone's besides my Huawei Nexus 6P have all lost 0-1% overnight.
Even with tweaking I can only manage at best 1-2% which I know compared to other users is excellent but it's definitely worse than my previous phones.
Without tweaking for stamina and good hibernation the device uses about 2-10% depending on what's installed, which wasn't any difference to previous devices (app wise)
I'm happy with it, I'll keep tweaking and see if I can hit that magic 0%

Change 5G to 4G
Remove Facebook use web based
Remove Facebook messenger use web based
Remove Twitter use web based
Remove any ad based apps pay for the pro version
Turn off gestures like lift to wake
Change from QHD to FHD (No difference)
Allow auto brightness
Turn off WiFi overnight
Turn all updates to manual not auto (play store)
Remove any so you don't use
Change back up to once a month (WhatsApp)
Turn off location history (Google)
Use titanium to remove any system apps you don't need
Don't allow anonymous usage statistics for any app ever.
Don't allow tracking cookies on any website
Use adaway (root needed)
Don't open web pages in Google app (I use Samsung browser)
Don't use xposed.
If you game you will not get high SOT scores, period.
Don't bother with battery saving apps or monitoring apps.
Streamline your apps, if you don't use it, remove it.
Don't allow WiFi scanning (as in letting other apps use it when it's not on)
Never allow personalised ads.
Never allow notifications from websites
Always decline cookies unless your absolutely have to allow some tracking (common sense prevails here)
Optimise as many apps as possible unless it affects performance.
Don't allow apps to remain open in the notification area.
Change your launcher, my preferred launcher is lawn chair and this did actually burn up some battery when compared to the OnePlus launcher.
Don't use live widgets (yes they look cool, but they annihilate your battery)
Live wallpaper, again very cool, but battery burners.
Again! Don't charge overnight, make a note of your percentage then see what it is in the morning, you shouldn't be losing more than 5% really, if you've done well then it'll be reflected here, the good SOT results will follow.
Turn off live read outs of network speed, RAM usage in the status bar.
Turn off NFC unless in use.
Leave location on in quick settings.
Don't overcharge your phone, IE: overnight
Don't allow your phone to fully deplete the battery.
Whatever anyone says, this does 100% damage batteries, there is no argument here and I won't entertain anyone who says otherwise, Ive seen through real life tests what this results in, bloated, inefficient, possibly dangerous lithium batteries.
Keep your phone out the sun.
Keep it out of extreme cold.
Keep your device clean dust free.
Snapchat, Viber, house party, apps like that tends to use more battery as they don't have great dormancy periods.
Apps like speed test by Ookla tend to have location tracking, similarly they tend to turn themselves on and off when they feel like it, my advice, install test and uninstall.
Allow a couple of battery cycles between tweaking sets, to give you an idea of how much of a difference you've made.
Use BBS to see what is being used, once you've removed problems, remove BBS.
I've just written this from the top of my head so o probably missed some things, the general idea is to keep your device clean and fresh, remove files you don't need any more.
Keep an eye on apps that misbehave or aren't wanted, index your folders so they aren't a mess.
The more good things you do means the more potentially bad apps you can have on your phone, eg if you really need Facebook, you could keep it so long as you clean up other areas of your phone.
Good luck.

Cracking game though, I find android 11 open beta 1 charges really slow on a normal charger that's my only gripe with it, but battery is wow
I have a great screen on % ~13%h.
But standby sucks.
I also have removed/disabled stock apps, location of, only enable it when I use it, same with Bluetooth. But I still have 1-3% standby /h. Over night I loose 2-5 % and the same again right after I wake up and use it..
My standby time was so bad 3-4%h, that I rooted it and change doze with an app.
3% h over an day (12h) makes up 36% battery uses. Just laying in your pocket and doing nothing... That would be ~3h screen time.
Still can not get the standby time to 1% what it actually should be!

I'd look in alarms / wakelocks for the cause of your battery drain.
I have more like 0,7% / hr standby, 1,5-2% over night.
Uninstalling Facebook and Messenger would probably take me to 0,5 / hr and 1,5% overnight. This app is a f**** disaster, but unfortunately it's required in my company (Fb groups).

Wake gestures, like lift to wake.. Keeps the phone from sleeping..
Also don't worry about location, maintaining a location is now efficient than obtaining it for all apps in one hit.
I've never turned location off besides for Google, I pause location history, far too creepy.
I have no facebook, instagram or messenger, the only social apps I have are telegram and snapchat.
I use betterbatterystats but there is just no app that keeps the phone awak all the time. I have no f*** idea why it sucks so hard.
It's super annoying.
Android 11, drain is worse, SOT is worse and I've changed nothing compared to android 10.
Disappointing to say the least.

How's yours now?
I've just sent through all my apps and optimized all the ones I don't need running at full chat, also deleted some apps that may have been causing issues.
At the moment it's looking ok
3 hours up
1 hours SOT
92%
That's heading for 10 hours if I'm not mistaken, so may have been one of my apps or poor optimization on the phones part..
I'll keep an eye on it, have Gsam running as BBS simply wouldn't accept I'd granted app_ops permission?
Maybe an android 11 thing.

It's 120hz FHD. I honestly can't see much of a difference between QHD and FHD so taking a battery hit doesn't seem worth it.
I'm currently heading for 12 hours here. Have just been using XDA and watching some videos. No gaming today, WhatsApp and telegram.

Very impressed. Also extremely low clocks 300mhz
Great tips from many members. My phone drains very minimally while standby.

Hi all,
I love the Sony Tablet except its battery life. for something that is so huge compared to the others similar products out there, I am sure that they could have squeezed a bigger battery into the unit.
The power capacity is pretty weak. Let's hope that Sony offers a higher capacity battery size. I would gladly pay to upgrade it.
That's weird, my battery life is fantastic. If I play games on it all day it'll last 8-12 hours, but if I just use it intermittently and moderately it'll easily last me a couple of days. On standby it only uses a couple percent a day if that!
I'm the same as unclespoon. Even during heavy use, I get about 9 hours, which is way better than my old Galaxy Tab could ever muster. Standby usage is crazy low, its fantastic!
Not sure what you mean either about being larger than most other devices. The Tablet's 9.4" screen is smaller than almost any other full-size Tab out there (including the iPad) and since the back curves, theres not actually a lot of usable rear space (look at how thin its getting at the thin end, now imagine trying to fit a battery in there!)
I'm not sure you'll find a Tab out there currently with a better combo of size/battery life. The chunkier Toshiba Thrive will last longer, the thinner Galaxy Tab's will last even less, and my Tablet S always outlasts my iPad, so it might just be your device. Try checking Settings -> About -> Battery Use
I'm of the same opinion as the op. My tablet s has dreadful battery life and especially when it isn't doing anything. (50% usage is system standby) my old galaxy 7 was far far better (charged about once a week)
I believe this may just be because it is new (only have 1 full charge) as my galaxy s2 was initially unimpressive and then lasted 3 days of moderate use without charge. Hoping the same will happen to my s1.
Time will tell
My only guess was that you did a shoddy job of conditioning the battery. My old Galaxy Tab (the first 7" one) was hopeless, but when I replaced it, I conditioned the battery better and it was a bit better.
My Tablet S lasts for days and days and the standby usage is tiny. Check whats using your battery in the Battery Use screen and get back to us, we might be able to help..

I noticed that as well. If you have Advanced WiFi lock activated the tablet won't go into deep sleep mode, there of massive battery usage. I still have Advanced WiFi lock on my tablet, but only activate it when I need to download/update something that takes time. Otherwise I turn it off. It's not worth the battry drain.
Wow. Your battery life are fantastic. 9 hours? That's huge. I have not used my Sony Tablet till flat but given the rate of battery loss think maybe the most is about 5 hours which is similar to what many reviewers are saying.
Just can't imagine that those reviewers are so far out of the ball park compared to you guys. I am using juice defender Beta. Not to sure if its helping or not. But at least if I not using WiFi it shuts it off automatically.
My battery used to drain badly during standby. I found that the Friend Stream service was preventing the tab from sleeping. Killed the service a while ago and battery has been fantastic since. Pushed it to 3 days with light use. About 3 hrs of browsing and facebook. My battery level is at 68%, been off power for 20h40 mins, and used for about 4hrs today - facebooking, Internet browsing. Note that no specific conditioning was performed.
What are the settings that you have on your Tablet? Auto brightness, background sync turned off ?
how did you stop friendstream, and what the heck is it, did you just kill the process and it stayed dead? (sometimes as u know u kill process but it will come back).
Good question. What is the Android software revision now. My is Android 3.2.1 (revision 2)
I acutally just uninstalled the crap-app. nothing I use anyway. It is an app for facebook, twitter and other social networks. So just get rid of it. Uninstall and be happy
my bad. I confused the HTC name and Sony name.
Social Feed Reader was misbehaving. Once started it kept running... rather than dropping off to sleep (and into Cached Apps).
Something wasn't right so I force stopped it and it stayed dead.
An additional note - the Setup, Applications, Running Applications feature isn't 100%. Some background apps aren't displaying as running or Cached. Go figure.
So any special method to stop the social feed reader?
I'm getting those kinds of numbers on mostly auto brightness (and sometimes lower, at night), with background sync turned on, WiFi sleep policy set to default, and no battery monitoring or saving apps running. The only thing I did was single initial conditioning cycle and since then its been great.
Also note that software-decoded video files will take a lot more of your battery than the equivalent properly encoded file. I havent had any trouble with Social Feed Reader, but I never even set it up and judging by the many stories around here, I would uninstall it if you're worried about battery..

In Setup, Applications, Running Services have a look at the awake time (listed on the right side) of the running processes. You'll note that system processes (the ones with the Android icon) have been awake since last boot.... but you might finds others that are as well. I noted Social Feed Reader showing high awake time and decided to nuke it. Simply click the offending app. You'll be given the option to stop the app... which is what I did. It's an app so doesn't restart once killed. Hope that helps...
Final thought: at the top right of the screen there's a 'Show cached processes' option.
The could be an offending app in there. Kill any installed app you suspect might be a problem and see if that helps.
my battery life is excellent.

I am really starting to loose my patience with the prime, I have had it for a week now and its just been a very a difficult ride so far. Coming from the original iPad, I never had any problem with it. For some reason, I lost 20% of my battery just surfing the web last night, now I did not view any videos, I was just reading several online newpapers. 20% in an hour !!! what the hell is going on here.
Can sombody recommend me a decent battery monitoring app pleaase? otherwise, this thing is going back and then I will have to beg Apple to take me back.
How many things do you have syncing? Cutting down on that saved me a lot of drain. Also the app you use depends on what you're looking for.
Where's my Droid power seems quite useless on the prime
Better battery stats is good for finding apps with wakelocks
Current widget is good for tracking the current your tablet was using but I'm not sure if it works on he prime

What brightness was your screen set to? Did you have SuperIPS turned on? 20% seems excessive but having the brightness cranked up can noticeably impact battery life, and using SuperIPS nearly triples the drain.
FWIW I keep my screen brightness to about 30% most of the time and I surf the web for about an hour or two a day and I have been getting 3-4 days of battery life or more. I leave the tablet turned on all the time as well, and last night after 3 days I plugged it in because the battery had finally reached 50%.

My Battery Drain Analyzer is good if you want to see an ongoing indication of how much battery is being drained per hour. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.WazaBe.android.BatteryDrain&feature=search_result
However, in order to characterize your battery use as good or bad, we'd need to know the brightness you were at (as others have mentioned), whether you're running Flash on the sites you were visiting, what performance mode you have the Prime running in, etc. Too many variables.
I'll add that it's difficult to compare an iOS device and an Android device in terms of battery use, because the Android device is likely doing much more in the background. There's a tradeoff between functionality and battery life (and between functionality and simplicity, etc.), and of course in such an equation Apple ALWAYS opts for reduced functionality. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's definitely Apple's approach and has to be factored into any comparison.
I do burn about 15%/hour when browsing, on 30% brightness or so and in Balanced performance mode. I've found the Prime to be excellent in battery use everywhere BUT browsing--video about 10%/hour, email/ebook reading/etc. bout 7.5%/hour, etc.
Thank you all for your comments. My brightness level is set to 20% and gps, bluetooth all set to off. I am now using auto airplane mode app and it has significantly improved the battery life. I am also now using a fantastic app called android assistant and i spotted services that were running like google+ and google voice search which were consuming a significant portion from my battery.

The best battery monitoring tool I've found is Battery Monitor Widgit.
And I would highly recommend Tasker over any app that is dedicated to turning a single function on or off. If, that is, you are willing to learn to set it up. You can do things like have it set screen brightness to max when you start YouTube and set it back down to your preferred setting when you exit YouTube, turn WiFi or GPS on or off based on certain criteria, etc, etc, etc.
A simple free alternative to Tasker that I use is AutomateIt. The most rules are set on my phone to turn antennas on/off and manipulate volumes while I'm at work, driving, or at the gym. If you're looking to do more complex thing, Tasker is probably the better alternative.

Thanks for the tip about Android Assistant. It seems very useful!
However I would get rid of Auto Airplane mode, you don't need it.
Instead go into "Settings > Wifi > Advanced (top right menu)" and change the "Keep WiFi on when asleep" setting to "only when plugged-in (recommended)" or "never."
What this does is that any time the screen is off, but you are not currently downloading a file or app, the WiFi will be suspended until you turn the screen back on.
You can turn GPS off from the settings if you never plan on using it, and it doesn't make sense having an extra app running in the background that just duplicates functionality already found in the OS.
I thought I would see what apps people use and their results on battery performance. Perhaps a list of battery hungry apps could also help some G4 owners improve their results. I know that there are other factors that come into play, screen, data etc, but let's try to keep this app oriented. Some are more than others.
In my experiences here are a few apps that will drop you down a few percent rather quickly:

If you shut mobile data and gps off on any phone you'll get drastically increased battery life. You'll also have a phone that is mostly useless :silly:
Nonsense. For many people, maybe most, WiFi connectivity is all that's needed.
For those that actually have a Facebook account I'd recommend not installing the official Facebook or Facebook messenger at all.
Instead uninstall both of those and use Facebook Lite instead, in this 1 application you can use the messaging service just like the older versions of Facebook. It's less resource hungry than the original one.

Top Eleven 15. ++
Fun Run 2. ++
Snapseed +
More + = bigger drain

Google play services: This always eats up atleast around 15% of my charge. I dunno what the hell it's doing
Android os and Android System: These two eat up another 25%.
for me, keeping Wifi on will drop 30% charge during the night. I guess because those two programs are using internet all the time for some unknown maintenance reason. for comparison, keeping mobile data on only uses around 5% over night.
What's more, battery usage is inconsistent. sometimes it's frugal, while other times it's like a voracious monster. the same patterns goes for overheating; sometimes burns like a furnace without a single active app, and sometimes runs coll even during games
I've grown quite weary of this ****ty phone, and no updates are released to fix these problems.
I have run the below instructions on a few phones now works everytime.
G4 has a great battery. Try it out slows play services down.

I mean.. there is some serious hardware inside, but software is literally an unlimited stream of crap. So many obvious and infuriating bugs and they don't even fix them. Is it even worth using this phone anymore?
I'd love to see an 8.1 update but I'm curious about what's biting your phone. I see nothing to complain about on the ones I and my son received last week. There's no new build on them but battery, wifi, video sync, call quality, even the camera focus problem most people reported don't seem to be an issue.
I was careful to remove the adups spyware on the first day, and added Greenify, noLED, Life360 and the latest action launcher. I also limited background apps to 3, and turned off as much location tracking stuff as possible in Google Maps without completely neutering it.
I get about 6 hours of SOT, and despite life360 the standby drain is negligible - if I set out to conserve battery I can get 2 days easy. The only downside I can find to this phone is that the decacore eats battery when playing Monument Valley 2.
But maybe it's just that my usage patterns are different. Can you describe some of the things that your phone does that bother you so I can try them on mine? And did you already get rid of the adups junk?

I have not removed the junk that a comes with the phone. Did you root to do this?
I am not having the issued described here in XDA as well.
I am getting roughly a day with my battery.
In my experience, it is the screen that is eating up my battery.
When Auto brightness is on, it gets too bright for me so I setup a custom auto brightness using tasker.
No need to root to remove spyware, just install ADB on your computer and then do per https://forum.xda-developers.com/elephone-s8/how-to/beware-com-adups-fota-myapplication-t3741622

Hello the battery of my Note 8 was not that Great (4:30 Hours SOT) So I found a solution to battery issues and found a great solution.
1- From Setting Turn off :
Near By Device Scanning
Find My Mobile
Smart Capture
Direct Call
Those Sensors REALLY drains the battery and minimize screen on time.
2- Lower down the resolution to FHD Its not as bad as you think. (I am not sure if this saved my battery life but try it).
3- Delete Facebook Official App (or disable it) and install this App
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nam.fbwrapper&hl=en
4- Delete Facebook messanger and install facebook messenger (Lite)
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.facebook.mlite&hl=en
5- Disable The Edge Panel (Turn it off, The Edge panel is useful I know but it drains the battery so much and you can live without it with alternatives)
6- Go To App Permission from setting ---> Check the permissions to use location and turn off any app you do not want it to use your location.
7- Put Brightness should be just below the warning level (80%)
Now Check These steps please and Get back to me.
Before these steps on Wifi I used to get 4:30 SOT Now I get 6:15-6:30 Hours of SOT.
Note :
Turning sync and vibration saves battery too.
We left home at same time, my wife's IP7P got 80% battery remained, mine is 30%.

It's even more amazing how much battery one can save turning the phone completely off.
Really dont like being sarcastic, but there are a few tasks/features that disabling them makes no sense, or at least none for a samsung phone.
Sync? That's mandatory. Find my phone? I did that mistake once, now my Note 3 is in some thieves hands. Edge Panel? Sounds common sense and fair enough, but one would spare 300$ for a phone just as good, without that feature.
It's a matter of what one wants to sacrifice, i get it. What amazes me is not being happy with 5h SoT, i get max 3 in 24h battery life, and i cant bloody find the drainer.
With all my respect, this guide, or tip, is a very personalised one and wont meet the criteria of many people, no matter how effective it is.

We both, I feel are more experienced users.
These tips would then be useless to you, granted.
Just some people do not even know having haptic feedback on drains the battery.
Where you think it's a general view that turning features off is useless and that you have paid for it...
I also think it's a general view that people love to save battery life, just the tips will not be for everyone. Just if you do not use it, turn it off.
Currently at 70%, QHD, idle for 16hrs with 2 hrs and 45min SOT. I average 7hrs...

LMAO!! I guess I am a little insensitive to this as well. With quick charge , wireless quickcharge and what not I have never really worried to much about the battery life. I dont find the logic in buying an almost 1000 dollar phone full of features to then turn them all off and not use them. I would save the money and just get a Moto phone or an older LG if I was that worried.
Kinda like me complaining about my MSI gaming laptop only lasting 1.4 hours while playing Doom at ultra settings.

I completely agree with you.
Three years ago i tested a guide from a guy that recommended using a combination of Greenify, Amplify and Power Nap. I did, and somehow i always responded late to messages, and my alarm would randomly wake me up 2 hours later than it's supposed to. Yes i had like 0.5% battery usage during night, 6h screen time, 48h battery life, but the phone wasnt doing anything the moment i put it on my pocket. Did i achieve anything, not really, i just learned the lesson that i stopped my phone from doing what it was supposed to do, and somehow created an anxiety if im missing out, checking my phone every 10 minutes if there was something that is not showing up.
Although, the original poster clearly stated i'd lose that functionality. The moment we twiddle around, it's always trial and error.
Ironically, i made a thread today on the General Android section for literary the same thing.
Battery life in this device is far from what it should be. Literary no recommendation around here proved any success for me. I factory reset twice, i reset all the app permissions, and i just recently rooted to make use of Greenify and similar apps, and im not gaining anything, literary nothing. In fact, this is the first time that rooting doesnt seem feasable, all the ad-blocking software that use root, somehow are useless compared to SABS, and now i wont ever be able to use it.
Every night i sleep with a 90-95% phone, and wake up with a 80-85% respectively, AOD is usually off at that time, and no battery statistics app seems to bloody see how the hell that 10% came to happen.
Never do i have brightness over 35-40%, AoD is scheduled, BLF is schduled (technically, this should add to saving), many apps are on either Samsungs Device Maintenance in always sleep mode, and those that are on the unmonitored ones never make a 5-10% combined daily. I do have the display to max resolution, cause hey, i've bought a device that has that resolution, if i was happy with 720p, id go with a 720p phone.
To whoever gets 4h SoT with 24h battery life, LUCKY BASTARD.

In case of this subject, I wouldn't say U are sarcastic - rather a mindopen consciousness user of high-end device ?
And I won't even use my sarcasm as I do enough of that dealing with users 'here and there' (I can assure it would be even more rough). I would fully understand purpose of sharing those so called 'tips&tricks' if there was something really improving the battery life or a list of unnececcery apps/services with some usage stats as a proof (I guess no need to say how many of such Samsung put on their flagships)... But taking 4-point list is like a joke and I honestly threat this thread as such.
My tip for OP - buy a car battery and adopt it for charging ur device will improve ur battery a mile?
With the amount of complaining regarding battery life here on the threads, I think it's always welcome when users suggest tips and tricks that have helped them. There are some features that people don't use, but may not have thought to turn off. Sure, you can also go to the extreme and turn off things you actually use, but that's obviously too far. There is a balance though

Idk its not that extreme. Removing facebook / messanger app and installing alternative apps is really important since we know facebook app and messanger drains battery.
And disabling the edge panels saves battery life.
I think the only extreme thing is lowering the resolution to 720p I must agree with that. I am not that sure if it saves battery life I will do some tests.
By the way the only way these settings do not matter to me because I am travelling via air port and. I am a gamer so these settings are really important to me when I am outside home.
What I would consider extreme is lowering brightness to 20 percent a lot of users do that. Through this guide Ypu can have high brightness and Good battery life.
Going through debloating procedures, i definitely get rid of Facebook itself, especially since i've read that they are even tracking users who never had a FB Account, having a system app facebook twiddling around even after you disable it is privacy worries let alone battery ones.
Fair enough, but on the other hand, i wouldn't trust a 3rd part Facebook Client either. Facebook (unfortunately) is my main social messaging access, whoever has the luxury to disable it, that's fine, but it's not a TIP.
Your guide would make perfect sense if it said "Battery tips for using the Note 8 for gaming purposes", but keep in mind that many Note 8 users have a "work environment" background.
I have 3 emails that i work daily with, two of them are very prioritized personally. I'll gladly get a tool that would limit its wakeup abilities where i would control the time frames, but anything more than that destroys my user experience.

The ones included in OP... I thought that was obvious. Sharing tips isn't showing off either, it's what XDA is about: helping others. People complain about battery life ad nauseum, and then others complain when people try to suggest things to improve it. Neither is especially helpful to the community. We should be encouraging thoughtful dialogue, not discouraging it.

Re-read my post, I wasn't saying your tips were extreme at all . It was directed to those who said they were against 'crippling a $1k phone'...my point was that yes some battery saving tips can too far, but being smart and simply tweaking the things you don't need still helps and doesn't cripple anything.

I have tried this with QHD. 70% Brightness and its really Good.
Bear in mind this is on Wifi.
The only extreme thing is 720p admittly.
But I switched to QHD Battery is still a beast.

No prob.
I think i tweaked things up instead of using 720p I am using WQHD 70 PERCENT Brightness. I am not seeing much loss 2.30 Hours SOT at 63 percent is pretty Good.
There are a lot of useless features turned off like edge panel, direct call, near by device scanning. And installing alternative facebook apps really solved all issues.
Sry for this . But isnt this post about saving battery life. You few moaning and *****ing at each other isn't for this thread and you've all used too much of my battery......so bigger off and start your own thread...why not call it ...*****ing and moaning to waste battery power.....

I think as mentioned previously Facebook and other online social media are the worst culprits. I don't use twitter or snapcrap, just FB.
I've just installed Metal Pro and the results frankly don't seem that much different to FB's own app. Will give it a couple of days though as yesterday may have just been getting used to it and therefore using more battery than I would normally.
Viewing all photos in your folder is slow as it seems to load just 4 at a time. I can't find a way to cache them. Images also aren't zoomable in posts.
I also can't find a way to receive message notifications. I've fed both back to the dev so maybe further changes will be available in the course of time.
FB lite is very similar to Metal....
FB really needs to provide better options for sync and what I want to see.

We are debating, that's what we're here for, some learn, some debate, that does not mean i don't acknowledge OP's efforts, just cause i don't agree with them does not make him a target, i clearly expressed that many of the tips are out of the question for most of the users.
I stood corrected in this place more than once, rather than pulling pride out, i chose to learn.
You really should sharpen up your standards about "*****ing and moaning", and maybe add some useful input we all could learn from.

I agree who ever want to try the tips should do it, i feel that the best way to save battery is with root and uninstalling all the bloatware i dont know what the hell is wrong with this companies and fb putting it as a priv app for sure that app is a battery hog, also manipulating the kernel and customizing it to your usage helps. before i had a Huawei p10 and i would get with out any touching around 3.5 or 4 hours of SOT i use Data most of the day so its hard on it once i got it root and started to handle the kernel and the bloatware with out limiting my phone functions it went to 6.5 6 hours on mobile data and almost 7.5 hours mixed with wifi. its a shame that im one of the lucky ones with the oem issue still waiting to root this note 8. with this note 8 im getting around 5.5 hours of SOT with mobile data and two sims in it which is not bad considering it has almost the same battery as my p10 but i bigger and better screen cant imagine what ill do once i get root on it.

Oh YES! This is my heavy usage, and this is my moderate one, and i am not conservative at all in display resolution and stuff. Some people seem to get a lot better results however, but this is more then enough for me, even though i do a lot of tweaking here and there.
The biggest factory to battery life is your signal strength. If you have a ****ty carrier or you live in an area where the signal is weak you will have worse battery life then someone living in a city with a carrier like Verizon.
Also for the ultimate battery life turn your phone off at all times. Only turn it on when u need to make a call. Lasts days
