You do not need to provide your serial number, you should edit that out of your comment.
The N950F is part of the multi OXM CSC and is determined by the sim card you use.
Did you have carrier specific software on the phone before your mistake? If so, just download the latest filmware they provide and flash it with Odin.

Just seen your other thread, asking the same question! Do not open multiple threads asking the same questions! It clogs up the threads with crap!

It is not a rom. It just means that all the CSC's are included, Europe, UK, Ireland etc, which is then determined by the sim card.
The thread below contains everything you need to know and do on how to flash stock filmware for your country, which will fix your CSC if the rom changed it, or you did yourself in Aroma.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/how-to/official-stock-firmware-update-odin-t3677072
Did you flash Lineage OS? (Android 10) the signal bar is slightly broken, but apparently has been fixed in the latest build released today. If this is the case, you should have searched or asked in the thread of the rom.

I can only imagine that you were on a carrier specific filmware. I use unlocked filmware here in the UK, if I flash my carrier filmware my signal is slightly better.

What ROM/Kernel did you flash?
PDA usually doesn't matter what you flash;
but if you flashed the wrong phone/modem for your network you will have issues like this, as for the kernel you can also experience these issues - since it communicates with the hardware; so it is suggesting the kernel is not compatible with your ROM which is reporting no SIM.
I am not 100% knowledgeable, but it does suggest you have flashed the wrong phone/modem.
I would advise on getting the official ROM you where on (before flashing new rom/kernel), flashing it and checking to see if it recognizes the SIM now. If it does, you are fine, you just need to ensure you use the correct phone/modem for your new ROM; if it is still a problem it may be a hardware issue that software can't fix.

Listen to what T_ is sugesting. download from samfirmware your original firmware,Not a custom rom
boot into recovery and do a full wipe/factory reset. Wipe delvik cache, then under mounts and storage, format system.
turn off the phone and go into download mode. flash the original firmware within Odin.
u dint reply properly wen i said try in otha phone i mean did the sim work in otha phone if not then sim prblm...let me kno...
Try to read this post i wrote some hours ago.
and try to disable the pin protection from the sim card.
then the sim card could get the connection to the carrier
if so you have a problem like me.

I'll guess that's because he didn't understand a word you said. He's not alone.
Anyone who doesn't have English as a first language struggles with your "English". As a native English speaker, I just find it irritating beyond belief.
You're not a gangstah, it's not cool, and you are more than capable of stringing together more than two intelligible words - so why not do it?
The forum rules state plainly that English is the default language here. You do not follow those rules. Think about it.
Not flaming, not trolling. But I'm right.
I did what you said and no change..

Did you check your IMEI (type *#06# on your dialpad) ?
It should be a number starting with 359585... If it's not, your /efs might be corrupted and flashing a stock rom will not help you.
Cheers,
Stefan.
P.S.: please use thanks if this was helpful.

No change..

why change the stock firmware?

Ok for the procedure there is no problem, I have already informed.
But I would ask why one should change the firmware (in my case from I9300XXALF6 ita to I9300XXBLG8 uk)?
I don't care if the language of the cell is eng or ita, but if i have the uk stock i will get the official update quick then the ita stock?
And for automatic updates with the uk stock they came alone or i have to download and install the new uk stock?
Sorry for the noob questions but I do not know where to ask
no one can help me?
I Couldn't understand your question properly but I'll try to help.
Having a UK ROM would make you get all the OTA update's quicker (as of now).
In OTA's you only need to download a small bit of the ROM and you don't have to do anything. the phone will do everything on it's own.
But you have to download the UK official ROM from sammobile.com.
Hope that helps.
ty for the answer so the version is the same (uk stock and ita stock) but i get the update quickly right?
maybe the uk modem driver is better then the ita?

They are same but if you use a UK baseband/modem there is no guarantee that everything SHOULD work.
One thing is, it'll surely not brick your phone.
Try it, but it's not recommended.
so if there are problems i can go back with the stock ita doing the same i have do for the uk stock but this time with the ita stock?

Bumping posts in a very short time space is against the rules ..
No you don't get an update quicker you might but UK has never been first for all firmware .
Firmware is changed for a number of reasons by users .
One they want the latest good or bad must have new .
Two the firmware may have some improvements .
Modem has nothing to do with the Sim card .
Modems may work well for some networks not for others .
Updates come OTA or via KIES
If you change your firmware thats the firmware update ..
If your phone works well do not change the firmware .

Yes they are related and my first statement is true modem cannot break a sim card or make a sim card not work . Wrong modem can mean no connection despite the sim card being 100% .

Warranty Issues: Back to stock rom but which?

hi, i flashed newest cm10 nightly and want go back to my stock because of warranty issues. but there a so many stock roms and i didn't know the one i've to pick because i don't know which firmware was originally on my phone. galaxy s iii (I9300) is from germany. which one should i pick?
thanks
Was your phone network locked if so you will need to find the latest ics build for Germany and flash via Odin and uroot if you are sending back for warranty.
If your device was unlocked you can flash the latest unbranded sw.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
thanks for your answer.
i don't think that it was network locked. can you give me a link to the correct rom?
what would happen if the phone was locked and i flash the latest unbranded sw?
thx a lot
Use CHECKFUS to download the firmware and flash via Odin .

All the latest stock roms are at the beginning of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
If your phone is network locked you will need to search elsewhere for your career specific version. These are unbranded roms just ensure you change the cschool to your correct region. Apparently it does not void warranty if you sent your device back with a stock unbranded Rom but you will be doing so at you own risk. You will also need to check that your flashcounter is set to 0 (search xda for full tutorials regarding this) all of the above is what I have found but may not be the full instructions follow so therefore please do your research first. I cannot be held responsible for anything that may go wrong. I hope I have been of some help.

My apologies that should be ''csc''. I wrote that post from my phone and did not notice that predictive text must have changed that.
If you go to http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9300 and find the last DBT release (CSC for Germany) and download that.
Please bare in mind that DBT is the unbranded csc if your device was originally carrier locked you may need to flash that for example the csc for t-mobile germany is DTM.
If you hover the mouse over each csc on this page it will tell you the country and carrier
so i think i've found the basefirmware:

but i don't find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610

I9300UBEMH2 Unbranded Chile 4.1.2, I'm chilean, no signal

I updated my S3 to I9300UBEMH2 which is the official rom for my country. I came from XXEMG4 (I didn't have signal with this firmware). APN and Modem are correct. I really don't understand what is the problem damn phone.
Sometime your device will give a generic IMEI, it can't be used
Compare the IMEI in the status and IMEI in the back of your phone after removing the battery.
You can try Archie's emergency zip. It will change your modem to MG4 without changing the RIL, remember to backup first

My IMEI is correct. That's why I don't understand whats the problem. Thanks
as you can see MG4 and MH2 have different modems, so when you pass from MG4 to MH2 the modem was changed and something went wrong.
Have you checked the SIM card in another phone?
Maybe there is something wrong with it.
And BTW, do you have an EFS backup?

regardless if the firmware came ota or he flashed it himself with odin. op states imei is correct and apn is also correct. that probably means the serial number is wrong. marracing, have a look under the battery and see if serial number matches the one in your phone settings. if not than that is why you cant connect to network.

The serial number matches with the one under the battery. This is very strange. I don't know what else to do.
have you tried to reset the apn to default? if you did that already than you need to speak with your carrier, maybe you are not registered on their network because of an issue on their end. if still cannot resolve than take the phone to a service center. good luck
When I first bought the phone (bought it in the US) it came with some German apps (one called Bild is the only one I remember). It has something to do with this issue?
Thanks!

Hi. I can't wait for another 3 months to get Android 9 together with One UI. I hoped that I can get beta version, but unfortunately it's available in selected countries only.
I thought that I will be able to bypass that block with VPN, I did it once for Good Lock 2018 using this post from Reddit. But I didn't succeed with the Android P beta.
The thing is, you need to use Samsung Members app to participate in testing, but looks like it detects your country using CSC. I have no other idea because I pulled out a SIM card from the smartphone, activated VPN, disabled GPS. But I still couldn't trick it.
So my question is, do you have any other ideas how I can install beta version of Android P? Should I wait for the ROM here at the forum? Or maybe I can change CSC someone without root (yes, I checked the forum but there's still no clear answer if I can do it or not as of 14th of November, 2018)? Appreciate any ideas

I found some firmwares for my model number. Do I understand correctly that I can install whatever country I want disregarding my CSC code? E.g. my CSC code is TTR for Austria, can I install BTU for UK?

Thank you, got it!
I think you should to have a simcard from one of the states of the beta to receive it

BTU should be fine, that's the one that I want to try as well. As for the SIM card, don't think that it's actually needed.
I flashed BTU firmware, but for some reasons, it didn't apply.. I still have the same CSC and my regional apps are still there. Does anyone have any idea why it could have happened?
UPD. Looks like I was able to install BTU. At first, I flashed AP, but I had to flash CSC as well. So I did it in 2 steps. After flashing CSC my smartphone reloaded into recovery menu. I made factory reset from there and that's it!

I suggest you to read the old beta threads from last year. As far as i remember you need a SIM-Card, for example Lyca, wich can be changed to different countries via SIM-Tool App. but lets see if the beta arrives today after all.

Not sure now.. When I was setting up the phone after clean install, everything looked like it was BTU. But I didn't find beta invitation in Samsung Members. After that I download an app to check my current CSC code and it appears to be XSP for Singapore.. I tried to flash it several times, flash AP only, flash CSC only, nothing has helped..
But it could work though, as I have Bixby voice now (it wasn't available before). I'll post here once I have any updates.
Nobody has an invitation in Samsung members at this point!
