The IMEI number on my S3 is completely gone, i installed a custom ROM and after it booted up i wasnt getting any signal. i didnt a little reasearch and found out the imei number file has been deleted and is wasnt backed up. does anyone know how to recover the IMEI number? I reverted back to the stock rom and unrooted my device but the IMEI thats underneath the battery doesnt match with the one it shows when i dial *#06#, when i dial that the IMEI is 004999010640000/01 and when it was rooted and on a stock rom it showed "null". if anyone knows how to fix this can you please give a detailed walkthrough on what to do.
Hi everybody,
I need help with my galaxy S2. I was on the generic EMEI but now my carrier in France does not accept them anymore. So I went back to my original EMEI number, but now I can't unlock the phone anymore, so I can't make any calls.
Typing *#7465625# doesn't give the information avoid the lock like it should but instead they is a pop up saying "not registered on the network"...so I can't even see if it's ON or OFF.
Maybe my efs files are #!cked up...not sure.
Can you help me please ?
Thanks
Hey guys, as the tittle says: I have lost my IMEI number.
I'll explain you the scenario of what happened before the loss of IMEI.
-> I installed a ROM, but, I have been in a bootloop after the rebooting process.
-> I have solved the bootloop the next day and flashed the stock ROM(4.2.1).
-> After every process is over, I have found a note in the notification bar saying: Invalid IMEI - (Carrier).
-> I rebooted once, but no luck.
And now I am asking for a help here.
I have no backup of my IMEI nor I remember it. Please help me out!!
I have figured out the faults and found the IMEI number written on the place where we fit Battery.
Lock this please.

Have u tried restoring With Samsung Smart Switch
No i have not tried
Try restore it with Samsung switch, if not you'll have to find a way to change the imie no. Back to its original otherwise your network won't register the phone to you.
I got the same problem... I guess the IMEI has been altered or the update failed... i tried to downgrade to 5.1.1 but impossible. :/

This problem occurs with phones that had imei changed, only way to fix it is to write certificate again and fix baseband, who need this can contact me via pm, I have professional equipment to do this remotely

Why inte wolrd does the imei got changed? And how do i fix it. Had a full backup with twrp saved on onedrive, phone and main pc all where brocken even tough i usef the backups several times.
Twrp could autobackup efs everhtime its so small guess they dont care about their people. Yeah i know my own fault but would be obe line of code for them.

Please check if imei and serial number are both shown when you tap *#06#, if you have both seems your phone got blacklisted on imei from software, only writing a valid certificate will solve your problem

I'm having this problem too. I see the imei and the serial number. Does this mean the phone is blacklisted?

I'm also having trouble. I bought my phone out of an independent shop, on purchase they told me it's not possible to update, and basically got the phone at a bargain. But, I have been doing digging. My guess is they have bought a blacklisted phone and flashed a cert to fix it. So my question is.. what is a cert? Does it contain the imei info, and is it tied to the software version the cert file? And will it ever be possible to flash a MM rom. I have tried and it won't go past the Samsung logo, only 5.1.1 Roms work :/
