Anyone seen this? I haven't even opened the app, and I have it battery restricted
I'm not familiar with that browser and can't even find it on the Google Play Store.
I did pull up a 2019 article about it. How committed are you to using that browser?
Have you tried using a different browser with WideMode for LG?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.refy.android.g8x.widemode
You might be able to replicate some of Whale's two-screen functionality with this app.
It was designed for older LG phones that support two screens, but it works on the LG V60 just fine.

Weird. Mine didn't come with that browser pre-installed.
Since you don't use it, I recommend installing Minimal ADB & Fastboot and the LG Mobile Drivers on your computer (if you haven't already), connecting the phone to the computer via USB (enable USB Debugging first in Developr Settings), rebooting to Fastboot, and using ADB commands to uninstall a lot of the bloatware that came with your phone... including that Whale Browser.
Maybe it was just on T-Mobile. I'm on Verizon and it wasn't pre installed.
I'm on AT&T and don't have it either.

I have just seen last night that the Play Store on the mobile phone has the option to remove old/uninstalled/whatever applications from my lists (go to the list of your apps, switch to 'all', and you will see a small 'forbidden' sign above the status. if you click that, it shows you the option to remove from the list. I have checked and the list is updated across multiple devices. These are the good news.
Now, the bad. Somehow, it seems that the Web Play Store does... NOTHING! Or almost. Some applications are moved, somehow, but the list does not get smaller and I can even see some apps that I have removed. And, on the Play Store Help section it is still mentioned that the features is not available on BOTH mobile and web version. So... Anyone has ideas, is there a way to delete from browser?
I have posted it here as I have no idea where else to put it.
Deleting apps works fine for me using the mobile version on my devices.

Thanks for the answer. Actually I found out that it works for me too, just on Web I can only see the first 20 pages. After 2 days of scrolling (as the applications are by default ordered by date - oldest last), I have managed to erase all I did not need. I am left with 10 pages. Everything is updated on mobile and web. On Web, still, in 'My orders and settings' I can still find a bunch of them (beside the ones I have purchased that I still want to be there). I would love to have the option to clean also that part.
Has anyone gotten google play store working? I tried following the steps from android cowboy but I get back to back errors for google services no matter what.
On a different note, is there a way to remove the ads/special offers for free?
Thanks,

Google play is a system apps so it's gonna need a rooted or modified rom with bootloader cracked. Same is needed to disable kindle offers.
So is there any good way of getting apps beyond side loading?

Only the second part is true. You can get the Google play store apk on any device, regardless of root or not.

Try this link.
Although it says Kindle Fire HD, ignore that. Ignore step 3. Also ignore anything that says about copying to /system/app.
Just install the apps in the order he has listed then install the "Vending.apk" (That is the Google Play Store). Please also note that you will most likely not be able to install apps from it. :/

One way to get a lot of Android apps onto Kindle, until we get root.

Seems to me like there should be some kind of app you can run on your rooted android device to pull the apk. Then install the full version on the Kindle via sideloading.

Better results
You'll get better results in the interim from installing:
a) 1MobileMarket
or
b) Aptoide
or
c) BlackMart Alpha (shh..)
Tinkering with Google Play Store components before we have root may be an exercise in futility.
The content of the link is quiet useful to me. Thank you for sharing. I decide to buy a licence. :good:
Anyone tried SNAPPEA TO passthru GooglePlay?
I saw a utility SnapPea that seems to allow a pass thru from a PC to Kindle Fire HDX for accessing GooglePlay. As I still have not ordered my HDX I was wondering if anyone has tried this.

The SnapPea app that I just tested is a way to control your android device from a browser on your computer, similar to AirDroid. It does not allow access to Google Play for the Kindle. What it does do is help you to install an .apk file through the browser, but then we can do that already by allowing sideload anyway. So maybe you were thinking about something else?

Same here.. Just bought a Kindle Fire HD 2013 and tried every possible attempt described on many how-to to get it rooted for Google Play. Nothing worked. Device current version is 11.3.0.5.
Tried the side load as well described for HDX. Gmail app works but that's about it.
Anyone succeeded on this version?
Thanks

I basically got pretty much every app to work except for Hangouts and Play Store. This includes everything from Voice to Gmail to Map to Google Earth to Google Plus to whatever. The key for me was to start with base configs that Android Cowboy posted, but then add bunch of dependencies from android 4.2.2 and update with latest version of backed up apps. For example, I have had to install Google Play Services 3.2.66 first and then was able to update to 4.0.31 after reboot. That version was required for Youtube to work properly (i.e. allow account sign-in). Things still crash sometimes, but it's not a huge deal.
Main thing is Youtube, Music, Gmail and Calendar are all working more or less ok. Chrome signed into my google account, but its not pulling down settings (bookmarks, open tabs from other computers, etc...). Google Plus crashes sometimes but works. Hangouts is clearly missing a dependency of some sort. I installed most things I could thing of from default Android 4.2.2 CM10.1 apps package and from backing up my phone (galaxy s4), but it's still no go. It would be nice to get that going as well. Oh well, Skype can cover most things there.

Wanted to confirm that I also have Google Voice working on the HDX 7 (since I rarely see people mentioning it as a Google App). Interestingly, I also got Talkatone working on the HDX with my Google Voice number, even though the app's FAQ plainly says that Google Voice will NOT work with it. As a result, as long as I have wifi, I can now easily use my Google Voice number to make and receive calls.

I'm using the paid version of floating toucher to access recent apps.
To get apps to show up on the stock multi tasking bar you have to open them from the stock home launcher.

Correct. The multitasking feature on the HDX is basically just the Carousel, with exactly the same shortcuts in exactly the same order. The only difference is it's hidden on the edge of the screen until you pull it up. So, just as apps launched from alternative launchers won't show up on the Carousel, they also won't show up on the HDX multitasking bar.
I just purchased a Tmo G5 and was very happy with it - after having to download a third-party equalizer because my Play Music Library sounded like garbage... but that's irrelevant.
Having owned an LG G2 back in the good old days, one of my favorite features was the IR blaster and the QRemote being built in directly to the status bar. I decided to go through my app drawer to find the app to setup, and it isn't there.... I checked the app drawer in the google now launcher (my full-time launcher), I went back to the stock launcher and searched through all of the pages, and I went through the apps in the settings; nowhere to be found. I opened the "quick help" app and searched "ir", and saw a result with directions on how to set it up, except it tells me to open a factory installed app that my phone mysteriously does not have... I contacted LG and they told me that they have no idea why it could have gotten uninstalled or removed, but that I would need to get an APK from some third party source to make it work, since QRemote is neither on the LG app store, nor the Play Store.
I have been using a Play Store app that works as a remote, but it has no option for my soundbar, it has ads, and it seems to use a very unreasonable amount of battery (I want the factory QRemote :crying. Basically, when I search for any APK for the QRemote online, I find versions for lollipop or before (mostly for G2 and G3), and none of them actually install on the G5. Does anyone have any sort of functional link to an APK that will work on the G5? Thanks so much.
Oh and factory resetting is a last resort, and apparently it won't restore a pre-installed app that has been removed (great).
Thanks again for your help.
Under Settings->About Phone->Update Center->App Updates, you should seethe QuickRemote there and can select to download/install it.
Hope this helps
Back when I was still using the Nexus 6P and it got the oreo update, I've noticed the notifications were broken for a lot of apps. After some research I've found out that restoring app backups via TB breaks notifications. However, there were still issues with some apps, and also the app update notifications from the play store were not working.
Before rooting my LG V30 everything was working fine, but now it's the same thing as before. Play store doesn't give update notifications, and also notifications for some crucial apps like XDA, Steam and Yahoo Mail aren't working. I'm not sure why this is happening, but I suspect it's titanium backup again (even though I didn't use it to restore any apps).
I'm currently on boombox rom, and aforementioned apps are set as an exclusion in the power saver.
Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
I have/had (currently trying out a Note8) a US998 V30, and on the original stock Nougat software, I NEVER got Play Store updates, and I occasionally wouldn't get updates for other apps. I did restore using TiB, and sometimes I found that clearing the app data and signing in again (if necessary) would help. Disable/enable notifications in the app, etc would work sometimes too.
Regarding the play store updates... it was the weirdest thing. It would say "all your apps are up to date" but show 60+ app updates below it. I cleared play store data, play services data, signed out/in again, etc... and it wasn't until I installed the Oreo update that it was fixed. That, coupled with very poor battery life made me start looking for greener pastures, which is why I'm currently using a Note8. Unfortunately, between the time of ordering a Note8 and receiving it... I put on the Oreo update, which fixed all of my gripes on the V30, so I've got 2 phones that work well, and I'm still unsure of which I want to keep. I know... #firstworldproblems

Well my play store doesn't say no updates when I open it, there's just no notification when there's an update. It has nothing to do with LG V30, like I said the same thing happened with the Nexus 6P.
Definitely don't get push notification now that I'm rooted. It's not all apps and some I will get then notification if I open the app.
It's a really annoying problem which hope can be solved.
Notification worked fine for me on Oreo before rooting.
Phone is a H933, flashed to 998 and rooted. I do have xposed installed also.

You're confusing Play Store updates with app push updates.
It's not just rooted phones. So don't think that.
One of my V30+ is still not rooted and neither is my wife's genuine open market LG US998 V30, and neither of those get "notifications" of Play Store updates for my apps.
I've noticed if I reboot the phones and put them on a charger, THEN the phones will update. Or I can manually say update.
But I get push updates for emails, app notifications.

I don't get a notification for the updates of the apps installed through play store, and also don't get push notifications from certain apps, if that makes it more clear.
However, it worked perfectly before I unlocked and rooted.
So the issue with notifications occured after rooting, or it has to do with specific firmware version, or magisk/titanium backup/something else is causing it, who knows.

That seems to be problem with Play Store updates, and I have that problem on two non-rooted V30/V30+ phones in my house. So it's an Oreo issue or an US998 issue, but not a "root" issue.

Well I didn't restore any apps with titanium backup. I did however restore my apps with LG's backup and restore (which worked shockingly well)
I was on Oreo H933. Everything worked fine, play store update notifications (which I'm less concerned about) and all app notifications.
Also it's not all apps that have the problem. Gmail notifications work fine. Pushbullet does not, nor does kijiji. Pushbullet's notifications will show up when you open the app. Kijiji will never show notification.
It almost seems like the notification settings in the system are set to ignore them. Or that the apps are in sort of a deep sleep, in the case of pushbullet.
Flashed to US998 and rooted. Restored apps. Now of course I have root/magisk and xposed installed so it has to be one of those things. When I get a chance I might try and disable xposed and root/magisk.
It could also be the cross flash of US988 on a H933 but that's harder to test.
I didn't see it mentioned but is it possible to go back to H933 after rooting?
EDIT: OK, so I disabled adaway and minminguard, uninstalled and then reinstalled pushbullet and notifications are now working for pushbullet. I get the feeling its to do with restoring apps but I'll keep playing.
Worked on kijiji.
Uninstalled and reinstalled kijiji (didn't change anything else. adaway and minminguard are installed still) and notifications work now.
These apps where restored from an LG backup of my H933 on Oreo on my rooted now US998.
Got a M5 8.4 WiFi on Amazon's Prime Day last week. Needed to use 2 Facebook accounts with chat. I know Huawei has the App Twin feature but it does not clone FBM Lite (do not wish to use FBM standard due to the bloat). Had been using Parallel Space on my ZTE Axon 7 for a while so tried installing it. However it says it is not compatible on Playstore? Is this because of the OS (EMUI) or CPU (non Snapdragon) does anyone know? Is there a workaround to get it installed (maybe direct apk installation)?
NOTE: Not going to unlock bootloader or root the device due to a very bad experience in the past.
I am able to install it on my 10.8 pro. You can try to install the apk via apkmirror (a more or less secure source other than the play store)

Did you install it directly from Playstore or side load the apk? Playstore throws up the device not compatible message for mine. Same for 2face and 2accounts. App Cloner works but have problems accessing the internet, could be a setting issue.
Also, did you install the 64-bit support for Parallel Space? If so how?
Ok, an update, messing around with the tab a bit more last night, trying to get a working app from Playstore instead of side loading apks. Tried Dr Clone, don't work at all. Then tried App Cloner and it works. The system even recognised the cloned app as a different program to the original, allowing me to apply fingerprint lock to them.
