Weird Touchscreen issue - LG V60 ThinQ Questions & Answers

I am having a weird touchscreen sensitivity issue with my V60. If i plug it in to charge it does not pickup up my "scrolling" smoothly. It skips and hesitates when i try to move around slowly on the screen with my thumb. This is very annoying especially when i play games such as call of duty mobile and i am trying to aim at my enemy.
This only happens with my thumbs not my other fingers and only when i move my thumb slowly such as trying to zero in on somebody with a scope in a game or scrolling up and down slowly on social media apps. If i unplug my phone from a charger the problem instantly goes away, also if i restart my phone with the charging cable already plugged in and charging the problem doesn't happen after that with the cable plugged in. It only happens when i plug in to charge with the phone already on and only with my thumbs.
This happens with or without a screen protector and with any charging cable or wall plug (including the ones that came with the phone). I tried turning on and off the increase touch sensitivity option and that does not make a difference.
Im thinking about doing a warranty replacement. Can someone try this and see if its the same with another phone?

there have been multiple threads for this issue. Kindly check below links.

Thanks for the reply, however my issue is different from those posts. I don't have any "ghost" touches or random home screens. My issue is that my screen hesitates to track my thumb if i move it slowly on the screen with the charger plugged in.

[Q] Touchscreen problems while charging

Hi.
My x10 mini pro has terrible touchscreen issues while being on dc charger.
For example arranging icons is totally impossible and the upper panel keeps on showing up and stuff.
As a result the phone is almost unusable as long as it's on charger. But when charging via pc everything seems to be perfectly ok.
Anyone has the same problem? Or did I just get a defective device/charger?
Also, my battery lasts for only some 4-5 hrs. I've had the phone for 4 days now, so i'm still givin it quite a business, but 4 hours? Seriously..
Well I don't think that is normal , you better take it to where you purchased it and tell them about the whole thing that's not normal.
Thanks, the thing about the touch screen really *is* weird. How about the battery persistence?
Is your phone Android 1.6 or 2.1? I have the same problem before but the problem with my phone not only happens when it is being charged through charger but also while connected to USB port on a PC. I had it replaced with a new one. They said it is a hardware issue but others say it only happens when they upgraded from 1.6 to 2.1 so it is probably a 2.1 bug.
Well, to be honest, I dunno.. I've upgreded to 2.1 right away, so I don't remember if this appeared on 1.6 as well :\ But I don't wanna run on 1.6 anyways, so this doesn't bother me really
I had a similar problem on my mini pro but ONLY when using a charger other than the SE one that came with the phone; fine with PC USB charging or from the SE charger but goes crazy with false touchscreen presses or the TS failing to respond at all on one occasion until I figured out it was the non-SE charger. I think the issue may be that when using a stand-alone USB charger, the SE version supplies much more current than a standard USB port; presumably, when using a port on a PC the driver SW adjusts the charging current to compensate but non-SE chargers may not supply sufficient voltage under the charging draw the mini pro wants.
yeah~ just go for a ORIGINAL charger, don't buy a cheap one, buy a better one! it's the charger problem
My work-around
Hello all,
I'm experiencing the same problem and might have some new insights. I have tried multiple chargers including the Sony Ericsson charger that came with the phone. These are my findings:
- SE charger (wall socket 2 USB) (5V, 850mA) - The problem occurs, however I'm able to navigate
- Cheap Ebay charger (wall socket 2 USB) (5V, 1000mA) - The problem occurs, can't even get passed the lock screen
- Cheap charger (complete charger, no seperate USB cable needed) (5V, 550mA) - No problems
- Charging via USB of laptops and desktops with the USB cable that came with the phone (5V, 500mA) - No problems
Needless to say that with 500mA the charging takes very long.
BUT...here comes the kicker (and my solution):
- HTC ORIGINAL AC EU WALL Charger TC E250 USB ADAPTER (Wall socket 2 USB) (5V, 1000mA) - Charges fast and no problems.
So, in my case it seems as if the problem occurs while charging above 550mA and probably only with cheap chargers, including the SE one. The original HTC charger works like a charm.
I also found out that the touch controller is right next to where the micro USB connection is located. (google "Sony Xperia X10 Mini Pro Teardown and Analysis", I can't post links here...)
Apparently, bad chargers interfere. Hope this helps.
i do use original SE charger and don't even have another but what Neliscornelis posted might be useful THANKS!
I use original SE charger and haven't any problem
I get this problem to.. What i have to do is hold the lock button until the power off screen comes then cancel.. Also I have another problem when in calls.. the screen blacks out every time i try to end the call!! Does aqnyone else have this?
touchscreen problems
hi! i have similar problems!
that problems occur when connecting phone to my pc with original SE cable.
also tried with another original usb->microUsb SE cable, and problem stays...
no matter what charger I use, i always have same problems with touchscreen.
also I tested it with original htc charger and everything is same again, touch screen is registering multiple taps!
so, for now i tested this situations, and problem is always occurring:
-when connecting phone to pc with original SE cable
-when charging via wall outlet (tested with 2 original sony ericsson chargers)
-with original htc charger
only exception, when everything is working fine is when i plug phone in my car (via car lighter->usb adapter)
any solution?
thanks
I can confirm this bug. Original charger 1.6 and 2.1 all the same. The phone seems to be registering random touch events without any physical input.
Also, the proximity sensor doesn't seem to be working while charging. Combined with the false touches, making calls with the phone on charger isn't something i'd recommend.. :\

I am experiencing this one too. I think it's the static from our skin.
I tried putting my finger in front of the screen like less than half inch above the surface (but not touching the screen), and it activates an icon. I can do it all over, so I know its not just a delay of the screen from a previous touch.
The notification bar above also goes like its going crazy or like flickering.
The touchscreen i think is plastic and not glass thats why it's prone to static.(not sure). but whatever that screen is made of, there's some sort of static going on.
Hi i think that the unresponsive screen is due to the fact that its actually oversensitive. i mean the screen is sometimes activated by the sides of the phone and the botton of the screen where the xperia logo is. I am wondering if there is a file that changes the screen sensibility? dont you know how to do it? rooting the phone or something?
Other idea im having is to dissasemble the phone and put something under the black plastic where the xperia logo is to reduce the sensibility of that area. any ideas?
I have record a video watch it to see what i mean with oversensitive. And yes this is a new out of the box xperia x10 mini

Unrelated effects. It isn't static, it is capacitance. These phones have a capacitive touchscreen and your body contributes to the electrostatic field that is part of basic capacitor physics so that it is possible to affect the field to register a touch by merely moving a finger close without actually touching. This is normal. The problem with random touches (when no finger is even near) and the charger problem is not normal.

Dont get me wrong when i ask you this, but what do you think how much your battery like to be charged with that charger? How much you think it will last?
When i charged mine with original SE charger (5V, 850mA) it takes me less than 2hours to fully charge it.
When i charged with PC USB it takes it about 4-6hours.
So, im sticking to charging mine with PC USB..

Really? Mine lasts 2 days with data traffic on, wi-fi, gSynh, gTalk and gMail always on (cause of my work).
Did you followed guides here on forum regarding a battery?
There is a guide of deleting batterystat.bin file in your phone (must be rooted)
batterystat.bin is file that Helps Android read your battery. Its not quite accurate, so, after every reflash/custom you should fully charge your battery and delete that file.
Process that i do after every reflash/restore/messing around.. I fully charge my battery via PC and leave it for ~30 more minutes. I delete mentioned file while my phone is connected via USB to PC, reboot phone and remove USB while it boots, that way, your android will see fully charged battery and pass that info in baterystat.bin, after that, im not connecting my phone until battery is fully depleted.. that way your baterystat.bin will have max and min values for battery. But, its only me, no one needs to follow this..
Also, i read that battery life can improve over time (until batterystat.bin hits the right values)..
Edit: Download Advanced Task Killer from market, it will help you kill unwanted tasks, thus saving your battery life.
Do you think that changing the digitizer will fix the issue?? Its like $20-$30 on ebay. And this phone its extreamely easy to open and change the digitizer in home!!
Or could this be a problem within the phone itself? i mean everything works except for the touchscreen!!

guess i just used the wrong term. but i guess you get my point
but it never happened to my iPhone, and iPhones have capacitive touchscreens too

Crazy odd charging/touch screen bug

Yesterday I drove up to Seattle to visit UW, and took with me a car AC power adapter and my AC micro USB charger. On the way up I left it plugged in, used it few times (not while driving ), everything was all great and stuff. However, during the day I was there I used it a great deal with GPS, maps, etc etc. I just barely managed to get back to the car with about 10%. So I plug in the phone, and am noticing that the touch screen doesn't appear to be functioning properly. Frustrated, I reboot my phone and find that it still has this issue. After a little while with this I realised that the problem was that whenever the phone was plugged in, the touch screen wouldn't function right (wouldn't response basically all of the time, including the "buttons" on the bottom"). So I thought "OK, so the problem is the charger, weird". However, things got weirder. For some reason I decided to take the battery cover off while charging, but then suddenly I found that the touch screen was working again. I was like "wtf no way" of course, and put the cover back on because I thought it had just magically fixed itself. But lo and behold, it stopped working again as soon as I replaced the cover. I then took the cover back off and it started working just fine. Remember that the charger stayed plugged in this entire time.
So yea, that's my weirdass story. I have no idea what could possibly cause it to only not function when the charger is plugged in AND the battery cover is on. Makes no sense whatsoever. Oh yea, and when charging directly from AC at home, or with a USB to AC, or just USB, it has no problems whatsoever.
(tl;dr my phone has a borked touch screen if I am charging in the car with an AC adapter and have the battery cover on at the same time)

[Q] Screen calibration problem while phone is charging?

Anyone noticed this problem? I'm using aftermarket charger (copy of iPhone charger from DX), and after 3 hours of charging phone started behaving strange. While typing, it inserted random letters. The faster I tried to type, the more of random keypresses. Scrolling is almost impossible, because almost immediatelly instead of moving content phone registers touch on screen and tries to behave like that. Only when i put my whole finger with medium pressure and move slowly, I'm able to scroll. Else it just randomly "clicks" on screen.
First I thought that it is some kind of trojan/virus, tested with ESET and no change, restarted phone multiple times, no change. Strange is, that phone was charging since morning and it worked well. Maybe battery is now fully charged and it started behaving like this. After removing it form charger, it starts working correctly again in 5-10s. Tried even different charger from my colleague, same behavior (but it is also OEM without brand name). Tried also reversing charger in outlet, no change. Different outlet no change.
At home I charge with old iPad charger with 2m cable and it never happened...
Assume that I have to get some better charger (original from phone doesnt fit our EU plugs), but still i'm bit afraid that even new one could behave this way.
Yes I had that problem with several phones from different manufacturers: Atrix, Galaxy S ll and MyTouch4G. It is the 3 party charger that can mess things up. In case of my GSll it was even with the original charger.

Sounds like a noisy charger that is seriously screwing up the touch sensing. Use a high quality charger from Samsung/HTC/Apple, and make sure it is a genuine one.

Phone shaky screen and Power point

I have this problem with the phone, the touch screen gets all shaky after sometime I put it on charge from the wall power point. By shaky I mean I touch somewhere and its registered somewhere else on the screen. Sometimes a single tap is registered as 2-3 taps on random points on the screen. I thought the phone must have some problem but recently I pulled out a year old phone and its doing the same. Both the phones don't do it 100% of the time but most of the time. Also, it works fine when connected to the USB of my laptop.
Does the power socket seem to be the main culprit? I called the electrician and he said its fine but then again the guy looked shady and possible doesn't know his stuff (happened before in diff scenario).
PS: I have tried different chargers and USB cables.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Bouncy Screen on Xperia z2

My device works normally when I use it, I'm not found any bug for this. But, when I started to plug my charger the screen become difficult to tap, it always tap to random area, especially when I'm typing a text. Normally, when we tap and hold backspace, it would erase all of the text we typed. But when I charge while hold my backspace, it can't stop type randomly.
I used unoriginal charger adapter and cable so I understand it can be the causes of my problem, but my device NEVER increase its battery percentage (sometimes it getting decreased) when I use the original one.
Help me guys to solve this issue! :crying:
PS: If you think the problem on the battery healthy, I don't think so cause I just bought my device, new stuff. :crying:
its ur charger. use a proper one.
fake chargers tend to have the ghost charge problem cause they are not grounded properly.
The current rating for the charger is too high for your phone, use no more then 2A!!!
