Hello, just rooted may Padfone JellyBean 4.1.1
1. Download Bootloader Unlocker from ASUS website
vvv.asus.com/Tablets_Mobile/PadFone/#support_Download_32
Unpack it in your computer, move it to your phone and install it. Turn on WIFI or Mobile Internet, run the Unlocker and install it /follow the onscreen instructions.
2. Download this
matthill.eu/content/downloads/transformerprime-root/motochopper.zip
For your info matthill.eu/android/root-transformer-prime-jellybean-update/
3. Enable USB debugging
4. Run run.bat file, should root your phone in a minute. Mine was rooted the way, that it pushed all the files in phone and I got success, but also my phone was frozen. I just removed the battery and started the phone again and I was rooted! I unistalled all the software I hated - like vibe, news etc. For that you need to install root unistaller from android market.
I have Padfone 1, WW firmware 4.1.1 Android.
Hi, I'm a newbie trying to root my padfone. I followed instructions above but keep getting 'adb server out of date' and then it hangs. What do I need to do?
Thanks

Try this:
xttp//visualgdb.com/adbfix/ put http
Also I have to mention, that I had NOT INSTALLED sync software in coomputer. Only drivers for Padfone where installed. Maybe to unistall sync software, or to try to follow the steps in link. Also if sucessfull post it here, so that we have all another experience and solution.
Well. I uninstalled syn apps, ran motochopper again and got SUCCESS, but the phone is still not rooted!!! I'm looking around for anything else I can try, I'll keep you posted, maybe someone out there has another idea??

Hi, Bro.
1) I have the problem with SuperUser. "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!"
2) After run the "run.bat" file and success, error occur and PadFone shut down by itself. I have to switch on the phone by myself. Is it rebooting itself if the rooting process success?

Hi again, Bro.
Finally I rooted successful. Really frozen that time. But it will be rooted after switch on again. Solution from me is Unlock the Padfone again. And run the "run.bat" file. It should be okay. Must frozen in padfone, do not let it shut itself down. Mean the "run.bat" show "SUCCESS !" only. And I unplug the USB cable. It is alright if the error occur. Just switch on the PadFone, it should be rooted now. Thank.
This is my situation to root the PadFone, I am not sure it will happen on other PadFone too. Post it if you have another solution to root PadFone.
Thanks, it worked for me by unplugging the usb cable as soon as it shows "SUCCESS" and then I tried to shutdown the phone but I had to remove the battery. After powering it on again I got root.
Can someone help me? I was trying to sideload the update and when my watch said "Now send the package you want to apply", an error occurred and it disconnected. What can I do to save my watch? No devices are listed and adb reboot does not work.

Hello,
I am new in the forum and sorry in advance for my bad english, I am belgian and I speak french.
I saw other threads about updates issues but they are not exactly what I meet.
I had a LG G Watch W100 white from six months, no problem. I sold it for a good price and I bought the same model but black and leather.
I tried everything to get updates via OTA : differents versions of Android Wear (from 1.1.1 to 1.4), in charge or not, connected to computer or not, with USB debug or not, with wifi or 4G, ...
I tried on differents wifi with differents phones and with différents cables, no OTA for me...
So I tried to install it by myself.
I installed SDK, downloaded rom and rebooted the smartwatch in recovery with command "adb reboot recovery" (So I guess driver is ok). Once in recovery, device is not found, so I can not install the rom. I tried to unplug and plug to another usb port, it does not work. I tried with universal drivers and nacked drivers, it does not work.
I downloaded LG G Watch Restore Tools and tested drivers, it was ok.
I have the new watch from one week so I can give it back to seller for a refund. I do not want to loose warranty. And if I can install update, I want to keep OTA working. So I think I have to be carefull with bootloader unlocked and recovery custom.
What do you think please?
In normal adb mode your PC sees a different USB-ID than in fastboot mode. So (for Win) you need an additional driver.

First, thanks a lot for your reply.
When you test drivers with LG G Watch Restore Tools, It tests both drivers and it works. If I unplug the watch, I do not see any difference in Windows device manager.

5.0.1 LWX48P platina Dec. 5, 2014 DORYZ10t Delta: KGW42Q KNX01Q
First follow this guide to Show Hidden devices in Device Manager:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/77614-device-manager-hidden-devices.html
Look for hidden devices (related to Android) and remove them (check delete driver and be sure that you don't remove by accident something that you use).
You can also do this with this program (it will not remove drivers):
https://ghostbuster.codeplex.com
Btw in recovery the watch is called "dory". Search for the device id for the driver (the standard usb drivers will not work for this device).

This is a OTA ZIP (Over The Air update)
These can be installed by:
Code:
adb sideload OTA.zip
- You need the adb version 1.0.32
- watch wear version needs to match that OTA. Otherwise the update will fail.
First things first
Grab some version info from the watch:
- settings > About > Buildnumber
- Android version
- Google Play Services version
More info can be had with fastboot:
Code:
fastboot getvar all > getvar_all.txt
I got my OTA update this morning ! Surely a gift for christmas !!! I am so happy
What update? LCA43?
Yes

First of all honey, logs plz. We need to see specifically what went wrong (a description from a human just doesn't cut it). There are plenty of guides on the beautiful internet, but here's what I'd do:
>Download the app catlog from the play store.
>Get the error message
>Open catlog and look for a red "F" during the timepoint of when the error occurred.
>Long press and copy, then paste into something like pastebin.com
>Gimme link
>???
>Profit
Try clearing cache, both app and device cache. Also check for su binaries if they need update.
Good luck
It is displaying this
The thing is its showing error- "Driver installation failed, the busybox found on your device doesn't work. this usually means you installed the wrong or broken busybox, V4A needs stericson busybox to work. If you are sure about having installed the proper busybox, then please confirm your device has been properly rooted."
Hi, I use a Oneplus 5T and I´m trying pair with a Amazfit Pace, but i don´t gived success.
"Pair Failed" "Cannot connect to the watch, please keep the watch near the phone until the backup recovery te completed."
Can someone help me?
Thank´s
Hello. If Pace is brand new and phone has Android 8.0+, it won't pair. First pair with another phone with Android 7.1 or older (or an iPhone), update watch's firmware, unpair and then pair with your phone.

What ROM on phone? Some versions have problems with Bluetooth, you may need to downgrade the ROM on phone.

I am using Open Beta Oreo Rom for OnePlus 5t.
For my part I have no problem. I am in android 8.1 and Rom WOS 2.6.0.12
I paired it the first time under android 8.0.
You need to clear the cache of the amazfit application.

Hi, I faced similar problem few days ago. The watch just refused to pair with my phone. Tried to install and uninstall the watch OS many times still failed. At the end, we found that it was my phone OS problem. I tried to pair the watch with another phone and it paired without problem. I then clean reflashed my phone ROM and solved the problem. For your information, my phone is OP3T and the phone rom is MSM Xtended (android 8.1.0). Thanks @IFOm for his help
I suggest you reflash your phone rom.

I cleaned flash the ROM. If you check xda, normally the op will give you clear instruction how to do clean reflash. After reflash, you need to setup your phone again.

Old Pace 1.3.x firmware won't sync with Android 8.0+ and newest iOS, firmware must be updated first using another phone.
I has stockfied 1.3.6 and 8 Oreo and sync perfect, since December to May, I changed rom for wos2, same phone and beta, like OP
This should work: pair the watch using your account using another phone, then put watch in airplane mode (so it will disconnect from phone) and uninstall Amazfit app and remove watch from phone's Bluetooth settings (watch won't be unpaired, so no factory reset). Then go to your phone, make sure the watch isn't listed in Bluetooth settings, install the same app version used before, turn off airplane mode on watch and login to your account. The watch and phone should show the usual pair request with a pin code, confirm in both and they should be paired. If it doesn't happen then your phone's Bluetooth cannot see the watch for some reason... I have done this thousands times and it always worked if the phone can find the watch.
I have the OnePlus 5T and when I got my watch I had the same problem.....all you have to do is
1) Downgrade to Android 7
2) Pair the watch let it update to latest firmware
3) Update your OnePlus 5T to Android 8.0/8.1
4) Enjoy your brand new Pace
........................................................................................
ALTERNATIVE
Use a second phone that is on Android 7
Pair the watch and update it
Then unpair it
Go to OnePlus 5T and pair it
It should work either way?
