Is it worth having a warranty through your carrier (T-mobile in my case) when LG gives you an additional year with the LG V60?

Unless you're one too frequently crack screens or lose phones I say no on insurance. Not to mention LG phone loses so much value paying a monthly fee plus a $175 deductible make the decision not to carry insurancea no-brainer. Just put it in a nice case and screen protector and you'll be okay.

Thanks for the reply. I was kind of thinking the same thing. I've never had to use insurance in the past. I've already protected the main screen with a supershieldz tempered glass and the other two with supershieldz film.

I have an annoying "spot" in the middle of my screen. Not sure if it's a bunch of dead pixels because it's more blueish than black, but definitely seems like a defective screen. Only noticeable on white and light screens, although it gets annoying. I bought the phone through Amazon so not sure if there's any type of warranty. Would need to go through HTC probably but I've heard bad stories of HTC customer service. Any thoughts?

When did you buy the phone? I think the manufacturer's warranty is roughly a year. If it is less than a year old, you might be able to replace it via warranty.

Doesn't matter if you got it at Amazon, Verizon will still honor the 1 year warranty. I had the same issue with my DNA and it was a dead pixel. Purchased at Amazon and exchanged through Verizon with certified like new device.

But I didn't buy any extra warranty AND bought it through Amazon. You're saying VZW will replace it? If so I better "UNmoonshine" and bring it to the store!

That's from pressure on the screen from the back. Do you have it in a case?

Yes, the Incipio Faxion. I'll try taking the case off. There's really no pressure to the back of the phone with this case, just the sides a little.

I didn't have any either and they exchanged it no problem. I would at least get it back to the stock ROM, S-On.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk 2
yeah that's a known problem with the DNA. happened to my first one. I'm pretty sure it was from using the car dock and squeezing the sides too hard plus having it in my pocket with the screen facing out,and sitting down which kind of like bent the rounded back...so it puts pressure on it and bam, blue haze.

Yep, after I took the case off, no blue spot.

How long before the blue haze disappeared? I took off my case and it didn't go away after a minute or so.

My back glass is shattered and that's what I've done except mine is a generic snap on case from Amazon.. Better than nothing.

So I cracked my screen while working today. I have a protector on it but it hit on gravel just perfect. A local repair shop wants to charge me $239.00 plus tax to repair. They want to replace both glass and digitizer. They say this way ensures no air bubbles. Will I be paying too much? Is it easy to replace where I can do it for much less?

I had mine replaced on my HTC ReZound. I think I spent even more than that. I just closed my eyes when I payed. Lol.

bought my Fit at Best Buy and purchased the protection plan. i generally dont do that but for 2 years it covers anything that happens to it so not having to worry about anything sounded like a good purchase. the cost was $29

I've had good luck with SquareTrade on other devices. Perhaps this could work for you?

3 year protection plan cost me about $34 using SquareTrade.
I can share about 3 coupons with anyone who's interested.

I am not a big fan of Best Buy but have to say that it is hard to beat their Gear Fit insurance. No hassles of mailing, just walk into any store and get the replacement. I bought my Fit from AT&T coz of the 25% offer so I had to go with SquareTrade. Paid $35.
Just a little rant. I ordered the 6p and was planning on selling my 6 and paying off the balance I still owed to t mobile. Well for the first time in my life, I dropped my phone and broke the screen it's luckily just the glass and the touch still works fine. It's not worth paying $175 deductible to get a new phone when I'm just going to sell it next month. Hopefully I can get close to $200 on eBay even with a cracked screen

No first time I've broken a screen. I've dropped my phones plenty of times before and never broke the screen

Pics? I'm guilty of breaking one myself... Luckily Motorola replaced it.
That sucks, Ive thankfully never broken a screen (knock on wood). Most Nexus phone sell well even with a broken screen but you likely won't get as much as you might hope. I sold my Zenfone 2 on swappa in less than 10 minutes after posting. They are pretty good compared to ebay and they only charge you a $5 fee per sale.
this guy has something here. i've heard of moto/google honoring a one-time replacement for these types of things. wouldn't hurt to ask.

If it's just the glass, check out ifixit.
You could probably do it yourself, and I've seen the glass go for under $20

Yea, I fix screens, all you need is a heat gun, the glass replacement, and patience.

Hmm maybe I'll give it a try. I thought I read that it's not easy to replace just the glass
Edit: probably not going to replace the glass. Seems like it will be a huge pita if you don't have the right tools or experience. I've never done it before and don't want to make things worse

Really easy to do for the N6 but the glass and digitizer come glued together
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I bought my N6 in december last year, just before xmas. it fell out of my pocket several times over the first couple of days - was just too big - on the third day that i owned it it fell onto a tiled floor and the screen smashed. claimed on the insurance and never replaced it - just went back to my m8. i was pretty disappointed, cos i loved the screen on the 6, but the overall size of the device and my small pockets meant that we were never meant to be...
that said, i've ordered a 128gb graphite N6p, not sure why i am expecting a different outcome, but i just can't help myself when it comes to the latest nexus device!!
Attached a picture since it was requested.
I lost some chunks of glass today. Not sure where I lost them at
I'm trying not to spend any more money on this phone to fix things. I have insurance and I can claim it for $175, but I still owe like $350 and if I only sell the phone and get lets say $300, I'm still out $225. If I sell it broken and get $175, I'm only out $175.
I'll get my tempered glass screen protector tomorrow so hopefully that will keep the pieces in place until I get my 6P next month
Very bad luck, I recommend you get a case for the next phone. Phone insurance sucks my car has a lower deductible than that lol.
I've used cheap tpu cases and plastic screen protectors from Amazon and so far never had a problem. I sold a Galaxy S1 (fascinate) last year for 70 cause it was pristine. The little things make life easy. Good luck buddy and enjoy the 6P. I can't wait!!

Not to be a downer, but you can buy a brand new nexus 6 from amazon for $350. I've seen some local on craigslist for under $200 still in the box. The major price drops have killed the resale value. eBay had some brand new for $299 as well.
Good luck selling.
