Why does my Dolby Atmos app keep turning off everytime I switch/exit to another app, even though the EQ is still on (with Spotify playing in the background). I have to turn on and off to hear the difference and it is so noticeable. It's like trying to force me to stay on the app in order for it to work, when it normally wasn't like this before. I even tried restarting my phone still no luck, uninstalling/reinstalling the module. Still no luck.
It even turns off when I swipe down for my quick settings/widgets gestures, this is actually annoying af. I don't know what's triggered this bug but it defiantly wasn't like this before.
Has anyone experienced this and know how to fix it. My device is the OnePlus 5T with Android 9

It could be conflicting with viper, does it work on its own?
If so this might solve your problem

You use DA as standalone app or as Android's default equalizer?
To make DA Android's default equalizer
1. Install Google Play Music app, if not done yet.
2. Open the Google Play Music app and tap on the three lines on the left top corner of the Google Play Music app.
3. Click on Settings -> Equalizer. You will see Dolby Atmos options there.
4. Enable the Dolby Atmos check box.

Using it as a standalone app/module from magisk. Having followed your instructions, it leads my to Viper.

Annoyingly no. The only way for it to work is if I stay on the app and do nothing. If I exit the app or scroll down to see my notifications the EQ stops and then I have to turn it on/off for it to work again.
**EDIT** So it seems as though uninstalling Viper has fixed the issue. But now I'm thinking, so there's no way for both apps to run at the same time...
@FP__96
This module should be able to use dolby and the v4a codec from viper at the same time.

Whenever I connect my phone to the bluetooth of my car, Poweramp player starts playing some random audio files that it can find on the phone. And typically would not shut up until I explicitly turn it off. The same was happening with my old phone (Droid Incredible) although not sure if it was the same application or some other player.
Is such a behaviour application-specific or is there some global way to prevent any programs from starting up automatically when bluetooth is connected?
At first glance I do not see that in Poweramp settings such a behaviour is configured or that there is a way to disallow it.

There is an option under Poweramp settings for "Resume on Headset Connect" and "Resume on BT A2DP Connect". Both under the headset menu in settings. Have you checked those to see if one might be causing it?

Both options are unchecked and if I read correctly they should be unchecked if I do not want automatic play.
I'll try to check them and see if it helps.

That's why I think there should be some global solution not specific to any application.
Perhaps, one can somewhere choose which application fires up when bluetooth is connected?
At first glance I do not see such an option in bluetooth configuration...
does anyone have a solution on this yet?
Try this:
1) Download Greenify (free).
2) Add the app(s) that automatically start to Greenify.
3) Test.
Greenify puts apps into a "hibernate" mode that disallow it from running in the background until you manually click on them to open. This is meant to help your phone by saving battery that those apps would use, but I could see it being helpful in your situation as well.

Eventually I used a hammer: I have frozen the offending application in Titanium Backup and it no longer bothers me when the phone connects to bluetooth. Of course, the downside is that I cannot use this application at all now but it was so annoying...
Before that I tried to use llama to kill the application automatically when connecting to bluetooth but that worked only in about 20% of cases.

Just tried Greenify. The free version does not "greenify" system application like google music and apparently I was wrong that it was poweramp. I have not tried the paid version yet, not sure if it is worth buying. Back to the hammer solution for now.
I'm fairly sure the "donation" version is the same.
If you're willing to pay for a great app with many uses, then buy Titanium Backup and use their Freeze function to stop Google Music.
My CAR does this. There is a setting in the bluetooth menu of my car called "Auto Play." When turned on, the car will start playing music when I get in the car, when off, I have to manually turn on music.

The free version of Greenify claims that greenifying system applications is an experimental feature of the donation version. I have not tried the donation version though.

I found this at pioloteers.org (Honda piolot forum):
"I have Samsung Galaxy and from what I read on the net it's a big annoyance for a lot of people. It isn't Pilot related, but is frustrating for a lot of folks nevertheless. The solution is to disable auto play on the phone as hollowpoints suggested. Unfortunately, not all android audio players have this setting. The one which I use – PowerAmp – does have it and I was able to disable it. After that Android stock player started auto-playing and you can't disable the auto play on it, so I had to uninstall it. Now the problem is solved."
I have a 2012 MB GL350 and the option is in the media interface settings.
I'm using Poweramp for music and when the screen is locked, after 3-5 mins., audio skips (using in ear headpones). After uninstalling Greenify, the problem is gone. But I want the main feature of Greenify to be used (which is Hibernation)( . What could be the problem and solution for this? Or is there an alternative app that can be used? Thanks.

The problem is that you have greenified Poweramp. If Deep Hibernation is enabled, disable it and check. If not, degreenify Poweramp.
^
Nope, I'm not greenifying it. (Did not add that on the first post, my mistake)
Same thing happens to me with Apollo on CM11 although it's not greenified and it does not skip it stops completely!
Stami
It's something related in Android OS, Poweramp and your sdcard behaviour, not because Greenify even you have enabled Deep Hibernation (maybe, since it's never happen to me)
I'm using Greenify + Deep Hibernation and Poweramp it's in my hibernate list.
Since I can't find any bug/problem in Android, Poweramp and Greenify, the only solution is in Poweramp itself.
Please try this, and report the result:
1. Open Poweramp
2. Go to Settings> Audio> Advanced Tweaks> Audio Buffer Size> Set to +750ms
3. After that, go to Audio Thread Priority> set to Highest
NB: for another Audio issue, how much you set your sdcard cache size ? Sometimes, more than 128 can made a audio hiccup too
Hi all. Love the 10 Pro!!!
Not so good is that I can't remove or disable the stock music player (music).
I use Pulsar but when I connect my Sony wh-1000xm2 through BT it automatically launches the horrible huawei music app and starts playing.
Any ideas how to get around that?

I know it's not really resolution, but try changing default app for Music. Just search "Default app settings" in settings.
OP here.
I may have solved this.
In settings-apps I disabled all music permissions and then deleted cache and all data. Then I set Pulsar to my default music app.
Now Music no longer shows in battery-launch anymore so I guess it is effectively disabled.
Fot me this is OK now.
In combination with this problem, I can't even set spotify or Amazon music player as default, it's not even on the list, any ideas?
Thanks bro. Nailed it to the heart. Works for honor 9 lite.

Just got myself a P20, I too am experiencing this same issue, followed all the steps above and when connecting to BTU in car still launches default player even though I have set PI Music to default. Is there not a way to remove the default app permanently using "Tool all in one software " ?
I probably will never use the DAC feature as i never use wired anything anymore. I have a pair of Bob Marley headphones and a 2014 Kia soul that I use with the v30. This phone seems to put out no bass at all so I tried to get my Bass Booster Pro app that has been working for the last five years for my bass needs and it wouldn't mod any sound. I went around from site to site getting several recommended bass boosting equalizers but not a single one works(oddly). My previous phone the LG G5 didn't have this problem. I am on pandora a lot and cannot find anything to use with it. I use jetaudio for my mp3s and the effects through it are the only ones that I can hear a difference. But when I increase the bass at all it gets distortion from hell. Bass is actually a stress reliever for me and am trying to figure out what I can salvage with this phone or would it be better to just return it?

No, I couldn't get it to work. Seems that the DC is overriding all equalizers even when DC is off. I contacted LG about it but all I was sent in response was how to turn DAC on and I already know how to turn it on and off.

Alright, so at least for my case, I uninstalled Noozoxoide, turned my phone off+wipe cache, and changed the app settings for my native audio-processing app so that it is denied notifications, permissions, removed its default status, and cannot change system settings. After that I reinstalled Noozoxoide and launched it. Interestingly, when I went to settings I saw it was already set as a default app. Just to be certain I went ahead and gave it all the permissions also excluded it from battery optimization. Currently, when playing audio, Noozoxoide is listed under running services (in developer options) as "in use" and "started by application". The native app doesn't show up at all, having apparently been excluded from being used. So far Noozoxoide hasn't had any problems with crashing or being taken over by the native app.

So what app exactly did you deny notifications, permissions, and remove its default status? The native audio-processing app on my device (Verizon V30) is the Hi-Fi Quad DAC. Can't find an app associated with it anywhere...

Every time I plug in headphones, the Histen sound effects enable themselves and give me an awful echoey sound. I just go into the Histen settings in Sounds and the effect turns off without me turning it off, as in entering the menu makes it remember that I have the effects off and they go off. But the next time I plug in headphones, they're on again. Any way to disable the effects permanently?

Histen sound effects ruin audio whether you're using Apple EarPods or AKG K702s. Terrible echo. Unless your headphones are really colored out of the box, there's no need for major EQ or sound effects. Any software messing with the sound is a downgrade.
In the same place the built in audiochip like good. I have headphones kz hybrid two-wheel. Pretty good sound.

That is so true, I tried it with Sony earphones and sound is very good, great bass and very clear sound.
I got original huawey headset..Model AM 185.altbough sound while you play music is awesome... If you try to watch any documentary and you listen a clean voice... It sounds like the person talks from a tube φ100. ( Plummers will understand)
Tried sony headset same. Philips same. So yea hands up and i don't know what else to say. Histen is good for music but it should deactivate somehow when you dont need it cause even in normal the sound is tweaked in a really bad way
for anyone finding this thread later, I got huawei p smart 2019, uninstalled 56 apps that I otherwise couldn't via adb (no root, it's even super easy to reinstall them, can recommend) one of them being the histen (com.huawei.imedia.sws) however, your maximum volume will be decreased significantly. it is barely enough for me so that alone would not be such an issue, but what is really annoying is that sometimes when i plug in headphones in the morning and play music i get 0.1 sec of louder volume (louder than max if you have it set on max at the moment) which promptly goes down to what is now "normal". reinstalling the histen gives you back the proper max volume, but uninstall and reboot will bring it down again. seems like there's no win for me..
