I´m considering to buy this phone and need some input from owners.
1. How is the battery life SOT on 90 HZ ?
2. Is there any EIS in 4K?
3. Is the Display brightness enough to use the phone i direct sunlight?
Thank you for your time!
Brightness is lower than the competition. If you need a bright display you can use in sunlight outdoors, buy a different phone.

How about 4k video and battery life?
Sot in 90 Hz is about 10% lower than automatic one. I use the smartphone principal for gaming and I obtain about 9 hour of sot.
The display is not really bright and usable under sunlight but is pretty good .
I don't use a lot camera for videos... I'll try and tell

Got the phone and I'm positively surprised!
Great stability in 4k to.
Battery life is too early to tell.
I started getting 8+ hours of screen time over 45 to 48 hours on a single charge.
On 90 Hz.

Why is the device so freaking inexpensive? I can buy it from China for mere $230. Other Snapdragon 820 devices cost at least $350.
What's the difference between modifications? X820/X822/X823?
As far as I can see photos made by this smartphone are extremely blurry. Does anyone know a workaround for that? Can it shoot in raw?
What's the real battery life? I'm interesting in watching hi def videos without 4G/WiFi/GPS/Bluetooth enabled at half brightness. Also I'm curious for how long I can read in the same mode.
Or should I buy Xiaomi Mi Max instead?
1. LeEco wanted to draw attention by selling high end phones at reasonable prices. Also, they don't intend to make money from selling hardware, they want to do it by selling LeTV's video streaming services.
2. Nobody but LeEco knows, apparently hardware for all versions are basically same. My X822 became a X820 after flashing the EUI5.9 firmware.
3. I had no issue with the camera. Those blurry photos might have been taken by competitors. No, photos cannot be saved in RAW.
4. Considering it screen size and resolutions, to me, battery life is not bad at all. At least it is much better than my previous Samsung Note 2.
Im pretty happy with Mine. It's very inexpensive but has a few drawbacks. As you know there's No 3.5mm headphone Jack and u Can also not add any memory in Form of mictoSD to it.
If ure aware of that, and still want to get it, go for it!
For your questions.
Im running cuoco92 Rom (custom Rom based on the Chinese Stock rom) atm having ~140k on antutu usually.
Batterie Life is Okay. Im getting around 40+ hours with light-mediun useage.
Camera as well does Great Pictures, at night it's meeh but for the usual Daily shots it's perfect. It Can record in 4kbut these Videos Seem rather shaky and u have to refocus All the time.
On Heavy usage: watching lots of Videos playing games etc. It will be Dead by the End of day for Sure.
The Screen is very Bright and very Sharp. I actually have my brightness at normally around 15% and it's more than enough for me. Also in direct sunlight, u can still really easily read the Phone.
I Can highly advice u this Phone, especially if u are a bit on a tight budget.
Xiaomi has better international Support as well as more custom roms so it's a good choice as well.
Last but not least, I have heard the zte Axon 7 should be a really nice alternative too.
English is not my native language so don't mind the spelling.
ZTE Axon 7 is actually what I'd love to buy (AMOLED QHD screen + stereo speakers = win-win), but it's way above my budget, and I've heard stories that Le Max 2 has serious quality issues. So, I'm still hesitant.
Thank you for your answers!
I am very satisfied with the camera performance. It's no S7 or Pixel, but it's bloody good for a $230 phone.
For battery life, I normally get about 4-6 hours SOT in a day's use. Have pushed 8 on days with a lot of continuous use and using some of eui's battery saving features. Considering the size of the battery and the 2K screen, battery life is certainly not bad, and with QC3.0 you can get a boost to last the rest of the day within a very short time on charge.
Hi, Can anyone comment on the speaker of this phone? is it good/loud enough watching video or you tube?
I have LG G4 speaker is pretty good and loud for my like. Anyone come from G4 to Le Max 2? Can you comment, thank you.
See thread about Camera 2 API. After this tweak I obtain Dng files with AZ Camera.
One hour of watching Full HD movie takes about 18-22%. 4G+GPS drains battery a little bit too fast.
Battery life is good. One day at University is no Problem with a lot activity.
Camera is OK for the price. At low light the pictures are Bad for raw there is a camera2api thread, but i didn't try that.

Can you really tell the difference between mono and stereo from a 3" wide phone,? At best, the speakers are 2" apart. Perhaps, it is better to have mono and make the speaker larger.
I think the so called quality issue was mainly due to the third party ROM which most sellers installed it for non Chinese buyers. Stick with the stock Chinese ROM or the third party ROM with good ratings, the phone should be fine.
Le Max 2 gives you the best bang for the buck, no question about it.

my mate 10 pro is New, I take it yesterday, using smart resolution for now, test fhd+ later
I am using smart resolution, and I am wondering the same. How is the results from the experience from using FHD+?
Maybe it switches to 1080p when you play games. That's the only reason that I can think of that would help prolong battery life.
I'm using Smart resolution too and to be honest I don't see any big difference from my day to day use using FHD+
Regular mate 10 here and I see no difference when using smart resolution. The only time I noticed anything was when watching a video with numbers in the picture...the numbers were a little jagged along the edges whereas the rest of the image stayed the same. Changing to the highest resolution made the numbers sharper/smoother while the rest of the video image remained the same...to my eyes.
i only use HD+ and its still sharp as ****.
hd+ is more then enough for me.
I changed it from smart to FHD+ and have not noticed any big hits on battery life. Still goes a whole day with 5-6+ hours of SOT
Rate this thread to express how well you can see the Xiaomi Mi A2's display outdoors. In case you've been playing Minecraft for 18 months straight, you might not known how to get outside anymore. Well, find the door and walk through it. A higher rating indicates that it has very high maximum brightness and thus fantastic outdoor visibility in direct sunlight.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Apart from what I saw in video reviews the odor visibility is surprisingly good. I live where we have sun most of the day and temperatures are high (30c+) and I still can operate the phone even in direct sun light.
Is it really that bad outdoors as people say?

Trust me contrast ratio makes up for it and is not half bad.
I can totally see it in bright days with the Sun shining to it's glory.

Yeah Pie the brightness is very dim compared to Oreo
After the Pie update the Brightness its not bright anymore
Same here. To get the 30% brightness I had on Oreo, I have to go for 70% brightness on Pie. It feels awful
Adaptive brightness
I expected with the release of pie the auto brightness to be fixed . It is better than before but man not useful at all. Mostly keeps dimming the screen and makes it difficult to see. Also when i use slider and increase it, dims again after few seconds. What is the use of adaptive brightness then if it can`t understand my needs.

Do you want a higher max brightness or more saturated colors?
For a higher saturation i recommend this app: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/dev-app-sa2ration-enhanced-for-improved-screen-colors.4088191/
For higher max brightness the only option was Gravity Box but they removed the feature a while ago...

Nope xD different technology. Also pretty much every phone with high thermal and oled display cut down brightness when temperature Is up and this is also why lot of OLED equipped phones doesn't allow high brightness of display, becpuse the eventual reduction will be a mess.
Like dropping fps in a game from 120 to 40 or from 60 to 40. You have still the same lower fps but the drop from higher value will be more noticeable.

Yeah it's a shame really.
I would sacrifice size of my phone for better thermal. It should be possible to add proper cooling in 2022.
I think some Asus phones have it but I don't know if it makes any difference haha

The 888 Is a mess. Using It with charger connected during game help me with the battery charger exclusion features.
But also my work phone (iPhone 13 pro) cut the brightness in half After 10-15 minutes of gaming.
I know It's really not good looking but the add on fan Razer or other brand do really help. But it's a thing you use only when gaming and not during normal use.
1)Heating:
My Poco M4 4g heats to 41C while watching instagram reels.
Is this normal?
Does your phone do the same?
what about redmi note 11s 4g? is it any better in this regard?
2)CPU Throttling:
My phone throttles to 53% of max performance and battery drained 4%, does this mean for the most part this phones antutu score is reduced by half when CPU is throttling?
how much does your phone throttle?
3)DISPLAY:
My m4 pro's display is slightly yellowish/warm. Reading mode is off
Is your poco m4 pro 4g display yellowish/warm or blueish/cool?
My previous phone Vivo Y91i has a bluish/cool display the whites look way more bright and white even with low brightness. On Poco the greys like comment area on instagram reels etc... look yellowish, which looks horrible. naturally all the pictures I take look yellowish/warm
I tried setting the color temperature to cool but its still yellowish. I tried color color schemes Vivid, Saturated and Standard. Standard was the worst.
Can I fix it with the right settings? or an app (I hear those drain battery) or is there a blue tinted screen protector? (just throwing it out there)
4)Camera:
Selfie camera oversharpens, makes my skin look bad.
Does your camera oversharpen too? or is it just mine?
I tried Gcam 8.4.600 skin looks smoother but Gcam is only capable of making 4MP images.
Do you know of an alternative camera app? Or atleast tricks to edit the photos?
5)Screen on time:
I get 7 hours of SOT on wifi with 75% brightness level(I don't have a SIM card in it at the moment)
How much SOT do you get and what is your brightness level
6)Speaker loudness:
Before buying this device I checked GSMArena's loudness rating and on comparing with poco x4 pro M4 pro 4g was rated better. Recently I watched a video comparison where reviewer says its not quite as loud as x4 pro.
are GSMArena's rating wrong? or is TechTablets wrong?
Are Dolby certified phones like moto g52 or g71 louder?
The only issue that I recognise from that list is oversharpening, which the stock camera app is guilty of. You can fiddle with it a bit in the settings to improve it, but I've not found any other apps much better. I'm perfectly happy with my screen-on time, loudspeaker, display tint etc.
I would note that the display seems to boost brightess in bright sunlight which you can't adjust using the brightness slider in the settings drawer which is a bit irritating.

Heating up to 41C while watching instagram reels is normal on most phones?
Youtube reviewers said the phone heats up while gaming, which I understand and didn't care for as I don't game usually but no one oncesaid using insta heats up so badly, which would have made me reconsider my buying decision.
Will future MIUI updates fix heating issues ?
Mine is showing rectangle lightnings on the left half, like lines. It happens all day, I have disabled everything, back to cnfigure, activated/isactivated always on, etc. None has any result. At night, it resists to unlock so I have to push repeatedly the unlock button, the torch answers but the screen remains black.
I would just return it if its possible.

I think "Android system" has always been the top of the battery usage chart on every phone I've ever used. Try BetterBatteryStats for a better breakdown of what's actually using the most power.
