EDIT:opx just booted today (yay) apparently ran out of battery while i was trying to root. sorry for the panic post. :victory:
what happened before:
I had successfully unlocked and flashed TWRP on my opx,
typed fastboot reboot
before rebooting i pressed down the volume up button.
it did not return to fastboot mode and never turned on again.
what i tried:
1. i tried plugging it in the pc but the pc does not recognize it (i restarted pc several times)
2. i tried charging it but to no avail, phone does not respond.
3. i tried holding down the volume down button while connecting to power source, phone is still unresponsive
my power button is also jammed (pinned down and unpressable)
is there any possible way to ressurect the opx? it was working perfectly fine when i had rebooted just after the oem unlock. now it is not recognized by my pc and driver either.
any help would be appreciated, thanks.
EDIT: phone is not drawing current from charger, i used a usb multimeter to check w/ different cables and chargers. what may be the problem?

Hi All,
So, I tried to flash Cyanogen mod last night using the instructions here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Samsung_Vibrant:_Full_Update_Guide. I was coming from a BIONIX ROM that flashed fine.
Anyways, the phone went into a reboot loop in the recovery screen and I foolishly just held the power button until it stopped. When I turned it back on it was broken. That is, now all it does is display the white Vibrant logo in the middle of the screen with the smaller Samsung logo below it. If I hold the power button for about 8 seconds the screen goes black for about 2 seconds and then comes right back up to where it was. I can't seem to even turn the phone off any more. It just stays on that screen permanently unless I hold the power button, in which case the screen is off for 2 out of every 10 seconds. Yanking the battery of course turns it off, but putting it back in immediately returns it to the state I've described.
I've scoured these forums and tried every button press + battery state + cable state + SD card/SIM state combo suggested, but the phone won't go to download or recovery mode. I found one thread describing the exact same problem. The OP said he'd try a jig and then disappeared without any further updates. I'm going to try to get my friend to make a jig using one of these sets of instructions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551
http://factoidz.com/how-to-unbrick-your-samsung-vibrant-galaxy-s/
but until then my questions is: does anyone have any experience with this problem (can't even turn the phone off)? If so, do you have any recommendations? Did a Jig work?
keep trying to get to download mode, pull battery, plug usb in to computer and to the phone, while holding both volume up and volume down pop in the battery. People have tried hundreds of times with it not working and then all of a sudden *bam* download mode.
So... my friend made me a jig and it works in that I can see the shoveling droid indicating download mode. However Heimdall/Odin won't recognize my phone. Heimdall's zadig utility won't locate the phone either, even with the cable plugged in. I'm, once again, stumped.
Just an update; I've tried Odin on three different computers, two Windows 7 (64 bit) and a Mac (with Heimdall). None of them seem to recognize the phone. Device manager on the Windows 7 machine does not update when I plug the phone in (in Download mode via the jig or not) and I can't find anything about Samsung in it anywhere. However I have installed the Samsung drivers; a few different sets I've found around the forums. I've also tried a couple utilities like the Vibrant toolbox and one click unbrick. Nothing seems to have any effect. I was so hopeful when the jig worked and got me to download mode, but now it's seeming I'm actually bricked. Has anyone seen a phone that could get to download mode but still be bricked? Oh, and I checked the cable using a friend's phone; her Mac recognized her phone using the cable. Haven't tried her phone on my Window's machines though.
Once again, any help is more than appreciated.
Have you tried to see if adb is working? If it does then try adb reboot recovery? If it works there is a file I can post for you later (is in my pc) that can restore your sbl.bin and fix your download mode problems.
Thanks for your help everyone, the problem was apparently resolved by a new cable; which is strange because the old one works for data transfers... just not for flashing apaprently. :S
Hello all, thanks for helping me out.
I did a very foolish thing. I rooted my phone and deleted a few bloatware apps that were apparently very important to the phone's functionality. I did not install any recovery software like CWM, fastboot, or anything. It was a stock phone that I simply rooted to remove a few apps. When I went to restart my phone, I found out that I bricked it. Now my phone will only enter Download Mode if I hold the up+down volume buttons and plug it in, or it will get stuck on the LG logo screen and a Security Error screen. A factory reset with the volume down + power will work, but does nothing to fix it.
My immediate issue is that when I plug my phone into the computer, the phone will recognize it has been plugged into a power source (it will either go into Download Mode if I was hitting the volume up+volume down buttons, or start trying to boot up but cycle through the LG logo screen and Security Error screen) but the computer will not acknowledge that anything has been plugged in. There is nothing new listed in the Device Manager. I have read other threads and searched around on the internet. The usual solutions are not working for me:
I have tried several other cables and computers to no avail. I have also tested my current computer/cable, and it worked for data transfer with another phone (Nexus 4)
I have tried cleaning out the contacts on the phone. They were not significantly dirty.
I have tried installing the drivers from LG and even the UniversalNakedDriver
I believe that if I could get my computer to see my phone, I could flash the stock rom back and restore it to working order via LGNPST. I know it is simply a software issue, because prior to my rooting the phone it was recognized by the computer.
Does anyone have any other solutions I haven't tried? Or is this something I need to go JTAG on?
I was re flashing the latest update for the p9000. I started the procedure and removed the wire as i though i hadnt pressed download just before i removed the wire the progress bar turned red and was at 100%. Now my phone wont restart and has been like this for over a day. i have tried reflashing but nothing works. When i connect it to the pc it gets recognised and in device menu it comes up as mediatek usb usb vcom(com3)
please can anyone help

i have tried that and still no change norhing happens on flash tools. but pc makes a noise when its connected to pc.
My device used to be able to connect through ADB and my USB cable. I even used the recent 1-Click to Unlock and load Lineage OS. I have used fast boot before.
I recently tried to use 1 Click again to load GAPPS but during the process I got a notice that my device was disconnected which it really wasn't and the processed stopped. So now my Fire HDX 7" does not turn on at all. I know the battery was good and I left it plugged in overnight.
I have held the power button for 4 minutes. I have tried holding power+volume down, power+volume up. Nothing I have tried is working to even start it up. When I plug into the computer nothing is recognized. It used to be recognized but no longer does.
Can someone confirm I have a hard brick or is there hope for recovery?
I've tried entering it by holding volume up & volume down & then plugging the phone to a computer to no avail. I've also tried holding up + down + power - still nothing.
Also, the way I got here is I have flashed magisk 24.1 on twrp & rebooted & now I can only restart my phone.
I faced this problem too. Oddly enough, while flashing the ROM the charge state was around 60%, but just before flashing, it suddenly acted as if there was no charge and turned off. When I try to turn on the device, the Samsung (Knox) screen comes up then was suddenly shutting down. I tried VOLUP+VOLDOWN+POWER with USB plugged in. For 1 second, the charging screen was showing and closing. I also plugged the USB-ni and kept it pressed for 2 hours on 3 keys (up+down+power) (I still can't feel my fingers). Then, I unplugged the USB again and tried to enter download mode and it worked. The problem was solved by itself.
POV: device off: hold both volume buttons and connect USB.

Hi BrotherBoard!
Thanks for your help but I actually solved the problem already a while ago but I couldn't find the way to close the thread. Do you happen to know how to do that?

I have a Galaxy A10 that doesn't go into DOWNLOAD mode too. I tried the HIJACKER program and also the common way which is by holding the volume buttons and connecting the cable. He is TELCEL. Can you let me know if there's anything I can do?
