My device used to be able to connect through ADB and my USB cable. I even used the recent 1-Click to Unlock and load Lineage OS. I have used fast boot before.
I recently tried to use 1 Click again to load GAPPS but during the process I got a notice that my device was disconnected which it really wasn't and the processed stopped. So now my Fire HDX 7" does not turn on at all. I know the battery was good and I left it plugged in overnight.
I have held the power button for 4 minutes. I have tried holding power+volume down, power+volume up. Nothing I have tried is working to even start it up. When I plug into the computer nothing is recognized. It used to be recognized but no longer does.
Can someone confirm I have a hard brick or is there hope for recovery?

I'm currently using a P769 model with JB, and it's never been rooted. I remember the phone was 100% charged when I looked at it three days ago and I didn't use it at all the day after that, but when I tried to use it yesterday it didn't turn on and it hasn't been responding since (I did try to charge it a few times). Actually the exact same thing happened a few months ago but it fixed itself in a few hours, but this time it's been two days and I hope it doesn't mean my phone is completely bricked The main thing is that I want to avoid doing a factory reset if at all possible since I made the mistake of not creating a backup.
I've tried some recovery tools (LG Mobile Support along with third-party) but the problem is that nothing seems to recognize my phone as connected. Weirdly enough, when I plug it in it without the battery, it connects and disconnects continuously (the device manager refreshes itself every 3-4 seconds); I've updated the USB drivers and everything, but nothing seems to work. Not sure what the Recovery Mode key combination is but I'm assuming the phone has to boot first for Recovery Mode to even be accessible anyway, so that's probably out of the question. However I have tried Vol+, power and Vol+, power, home, and nothing happens.
To make the recovery software recognize your phone, you must put it in S/W mode by disconnecting your phone, taking out the battery, reinserting the battery and then, while holding the volume+ button, plugging it into your computer(keep holding volume+ until the screen says S/W just to be safe). At least that's what I always did.
Hmm... I tried that, and nothing happens on my phone, but I get a popup from the system tray on my computer that says "USB device not recognized: The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it" which appears and disappears repeatedly. It appears that no software can recognize the phone as connected at this point. I think it might be a random battery failure but I don't know how to tell D:
The thing is all I really need out of the phone is the contact and app data if possible, which is why I'm so hesitant to do a hard reset :| I read around and I'm assuming what I should do is to flash the bootloader but I'm not sure how to go about doing that since I'm getting zero response from the phone itself.....
UPDATE: Tried a hard reset anyway, but still nothing from the phone. I attempted fastboot, however, I don't know how to make it work since "OMAP4430" does appear under TI Devices in Device Manager plus an "Unknown USB [device failed enumeration something something]" under USB Controllers, but that's it.... nothing appears under Other Devices, which seems to be where the bricked phone should show up. adb doesn't seem to recognize it either.
i have the same problem with my lg p760.
any solutions?
you had a solution for this problem ?
Hello all, thanks for helping me out.
I did a very foolish thing. I rooted my phone and deleted a few bloatware apps that were apparently very important to the phone's functionality. I did not install any recovery software like CWM, fastboot, or anything. It was a stock phone that I simply rooted to remove a few apps. When I went to restart my phone, I found out that I bricked it. Now my phone will only enter Download Mode if I hold the up+down volume buttons and plug it in, or it will get stuck on the LG logo screen and a Security Error screen. A factory reset with the volume down + power will work, but does nothing to fix it.
My immediate issue is that when I plug my phone into the computer, the phone will recognize it has been plugged into a power source (it will either go into Download Mode if I was hitting the volume up+volume down buttons, or start trying to boot up but cycle through the LG logo screen and Security Error screen) but the computer will not acknowledge that anything has been plugged in. There is nothing new listed in the Device Manager. I have read other threads and searched around on the internet. The usual solutions are not working for me:
I have tried several other cables and computers to no avail. I have also tested my current computer/cable, and it worked for data transfer with another phone (Nexus 4)
I have tried cleaning out the contacts on the phone. They were not significantly dirty.
I have tried installing the drivers from LG and even the UniversalNakedDriver
I believe that if I could get my computer to see my phone, I could flash the stock rom back and restore it to working order via LGNPST. I know it is simply a software issue, because prior to my rooting the phone it was recognized by the computer.
Does anyone have any other solutions I haven't tried? Or is this something I need to go JTAG on?
Having some new trouble with my Kindle 8.9... Tried walking through [Rollback][Downgrade][Thor][Apollo] 3.2.8 rollback-OTA captured , but hit a snag. The downgrade went great... got back into the OS with no problems. Tried stepping through the upgrades and got to 4.1.1. After starting the 4.5.1 update, the HDX rebooted to a black screen. Nothing works to power it on. I've already searched and tried
holding power for 2 mins + - nothing happened
holding for 40 seconds per Amazon support, then powering on - nothing happened
ADB cannot see it
When I connect it to my computer, it used to show up as the bulk loader device. I installed the Qualcomm driver, then it was showing up as a Qualcomm 9800 something or other. Now when I connect it via USB, it shows up, but isn't recognized.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Without ADB your options are few. If you purchased the device directly reach out to Amazon. Tell them it died during an auto-upgrade. Might offer an exchange or discount on a refurb.
Your other option is a factory reset from the Kindle recovery menu (press power and vol-+ from cold start). Given the current state of your device I doubt it could make things worse. If you can't get into recovery that may indicate the recovery partition is damaged which also impacts upgrades/rollbacks. Unfortunately, that doesn't answer the why/how or offer any further solution to your problem.
EDIT:opx just booted today (yay) apparently ran out of battery while i was trying to root. sorry for the panic post. :victory:
what happened before:
I had successfully unlocked and flashed TWRP on my opx,
typed fastboot reboot
before rebooting i pressed down the volume up button.
it did not return to fastboot mode and never turned on again.
what i tried:
1. i tried plugging it in the pc but the pc does not recognize it (i restarted pc several times)
2. i tried charging it but to no avail, phone does not respond.
3. i tried holding down the volume down button while connecting to power source, phone is still unresponsive
my power button is also jammed (pinned down and unpressable)
is there any possible way to ressurect the opx? it was working perfectly fine when i had rebooted just after the oem unlock. now it is not recognized by my pc and driver either.
any help would be appreciated, thanks.
EDIT: phone is not drawing current from charger, i used a usb multimeter to check w/ different cables and chargers. what may be the problem?
Hello,
I had my Oukitel WP 10 rooted from One click root, it was working just fine, then about a month later, the phone was acting weird, ( going slow). I rebooted the phone and waited for it to turn back on...well, it didn't do anything. I tried putting it in recovery mode, and pressing and holding power + volume up, nothing. I tried power + vol. down, nothing. I had it charging it all day, and tried everything again, nothing. But, if I have it plugged into the computer. It beeps, then I unplugged it, then it beeps again, so the computer detects it. I tried to get One click root to help me with it, they said they can't help me, and to try somewhere else.
So, if you can, please help.
