i have installed fxp044, can i update to fxp046 with xRecovery without losing programs etc. ???
Best thing would be to back up apps and what not and do fresh install. Other you may encounter errors

Titanium Backup can help you!
but don't backup system settings.
recommend to do fresh install in order to avoid some errors
If its just an update then wipe dalvik cache and then just flash the ROm directly via recovery. You wont loose the programs.
If you go for full format of user data then you will loose all the programs and everything.
As long as there is no change in the kernel it is safe to just flash the rom without full format.
Should I just do a backup, and install CM 10.1 OTA through my phone, then install GApps, and then install things I like (Such as Custom Kernel and JustUnBean Themed Gapps) as I normally do when updating my ROM?
Or should some extra steps/wipes/etc be taken when going from CM 10 to CM 10.1?
Thanks,
YoHoJo
You can do that, but the best way would be to clean install. Backup all your non-Google data like SMS etc, which don't get backed up to Google automatically, then full wipe, flash ROM, gapps and other mods, then setup your phone again.

Thank you Sashank, anyone else care to give their opinions?
Always backup. I don't know how much has changed in the cyanogen versions, but i'd ask what advice they offer. Likely, since it is just a .1 version bump, you do not need a clean install. I'd probably just wipe cache and dalvik, no factory reset.
I am using this ROM on my TF201, but I have an older build. Do I have to clear all the caches etc to install the new one (and reinstall Google Apps), or can I just flash the latest one?
Will it wipe everything anyway?
Thanks.
Chris.
Hello! Attempting to have a best version of Android in my phone, I've installed Cyanogenmod 12.1, and didn't have problems. I installed an app called link2sd, give it root acess and tried to uninstall some native apps of the rom that I thought I'd not use. But, after changing my sd card and uninstalling the app hangouts using link2sd, my keybord stopped, and when I searched for it in the list of apps, I realized it was uninstalled. So, I tried to restart the phone, and when I did it, so many native applications like the file manager was unistalled too. Tried to restart the phone by the recovery mode and after reinstaling the rom, I received many alerts like "Unfortunaly, Trebuchet has stopped", by many apps and google apps stopping and can't use play store, and many other aplicattions. I tried to format the USB Storage, the sd card, wipe cache and data, restore the cellphone... And nothing works. Can someone help me?
Hi,
While in recovery, did you select factory reset, then did you also wipe your /system partition? What gapps are you using?

After flashing ROM for the first time, did you try flashing over again (Don't boot into ROM, just reboot to recovery)? Sometimes a second flash will solve issues like this (gapps files missing, etc).

Hi, would it be enough to install pico on top of the full? Would that remove all the apps that were installed with the full package?

No, you need to wipe System and then reinstall ROM/Gapps.
