Greetings everyone....
I've been battling with a problem quite some time now but to no avail, please you support will be appreciated. below is the breakdown of what happened:
I have a samsung galaxy phone A10e, model no: SM-S102DL, it was network locked to Tracfone. Gladly I found someone who unlocked it remotely. it worked perfectly for 2 weeks and some days, the network started misbehaving- fluctuating seriously, it got to the point that the network become totally bad- no service.
I met the person who unlocked it, he said everything was fine, he hinted maybe the phone need firmware.
Upgraded the firmware from android 9 to 10, still the same, I reflash the phone using the CSC without home to completely wipe the device, still the same.
right now, it appears the case is worse, because the device get hot and the battery drains faster, I noticed the airplane mode will be activating itself intermittently without stopping, *06# and *0011# take forever to load. additionally, when I removed the SIM, the no service still remains, it doesn't change to emergency, and insert SIM only pops up once in a while, intermittently with airplane mode doing its own sideways.
i tried to downgrade it, but no way, I even tried to activate "OEM unlock" but the option was and still not present in the developer option.
I'm stuck I don't know what to do.
please help!

Hi,
I've had my SGS2 now for around 2 months and thought it maybe be a firmware bug, but have recently upgraded to the latest via Kies which is KE4 and still notice from time to time that the my 3G just wont work.
If I try and access anything via 3G for example webpages you just get page cannot be found, but strangely enough what I have noticed the is H symbol will have a Green UP arrow active but nothing ever happens. In order for me to fix it I have to disable 3G via apndriod and then turn it back on again, as soon as this is done the 3G works as normal. Does anyone know of a fix for this?
I'm on the O2 network if that helps but I think its more than likely a bug with the firmware/phone.
Cheers in advance.
Davey
I've noticed it happen once or twice... but I just hold the power button, and then de-activate and then re-activate the connection from the popup menu. Sometimes when it has hung it can take a fair while to kill it after de-activating as well. But its literally only happened 2 or 3 times in the whole time I've had it; I've had catastrophic battery drainage more often which is a lot more annoying.
I've had the same issues on my phone aswell. I just got mine back from the repair shop and the problem still remains. The guys on the repairshop said it worked fine when they had it, but now its the same again. I dont know if it is my network operator who has problems with my phone staying online or what it is. But its damn annoying, I to have to disable / re-enable the 3G connection for it to start to work again.
I've yet to find a fix for this.. I'm on a network called OneCall, in Norway.
Any tips would be great
I had the same problem when I disabled fast dormancy.
Hello. Since about a week ago, I have this problem PERSISTENTLY. My phone is 3 months' old, I bought it new and unbranded from a store in town, and never rooted it. Only thing I did was upgrading the firmware through kies to the latest version available in my contry (KE7 if I'm not wrong). I have adroid version 2.3.3.
Well, I have found no solution to this problem that is absolutely unbearable.
I shall get rid of this phone as soon as I can because I am really annoyed by discovering problems after problems. I never had any iPhone, but I will try buying the iPhone 5 when it comes out. Hopefully it will work better. After all, it can't be so difficult to make a phone better than this one!
By the way:
I have 2 contracts with vodafone, one on this phone and.the other on a Nokia n95 8GB. Tried swapping the sim cards. Reault is that after the swap on the nokia there still are no problems whereas the SGS2 is still hanging on 3G and H.
So it isn't a problem of the operator, neither it is a problem of sim cards (also because they are different, one is 32k and the other is newer, and 128k).
Now, before throwing this absolute crap of a phone out of the window, I'd like to try a factory reset. But the question is: will I have to reinstall feom scatch every single app, after the reset? Is there a way to back up allbthe installed apps and easily reinstall them, without rooting the phone? I absolutely don't want to root the phone because I'm pretty sure I will end up selling it and so I don't want to loose the warranty.

Factory reset will mean you lost all data, everything on the phone that you dont backup.
But that might not fix it, your best bet is to try a newer modem, as its more a modem issue not a rom issue.
Thank you, veyka.
I just seem to habe found the solution! I disabled fast dormancy by dialing *#9900# (there's a hidden menu).
So far it's working great! It appears that my mobile network is not optimised for that protocol, therefore it must be disabled im.order to get proper internet connection.
So... anybody with this problem, try dialing *#9900# and tapping on "Disable fast dormancy" it is a fully reversible action (just in ca se...). Im fact, it cam be re-enabled at any time from the same hidde menu.
POST NOTE: No. This doesn't work. I spoke too soon...

This problem has been around for a while and I read somewhere that Samsung said they were working on a fix for it. I have had the problem from day 1 and it still does occur with Fast Dormancy disabled. I don't know if some of the newer Firmwares have fixed this or not. I am running official UK KF3 Firmware.
In fact, the fast dormancy trick worked only foe a short time. Now I'm back on wifi. What a disaster of a phone.
I talked to my network operator last night. They told me to go to settings->wireless and network->Mobile networks->Network operators and set it to manual, instead of automatic.
After this it seems like the problem wanished, but it might be just for now. Will test for a few days and come back to this!
Hey this is certainly a good suggestion! Maybe when signal is poor the phone starts searching for other networks and drops the connection. Good point indeed. I will make some trials as well.
Cheers
Hello,
I have a random/erratic problem with my SGSII reporting that the baseband is unknown and no IMEI being present.
It happens randomly through the night, or if the phone reboots itself, the signal icon changes to a circle with a line through it, and no network connectivity works (except for WiFi).
I've backed my \EFS up previously and restored that with no luck, re flashed my modem with no luck.
Usually the fix is to reboot the phone a few more times and eventually it comes back on.
I've got an app called 'network' which gives me various stats on the connectivity type etc (from my nexus one days) under 'Set preferred network type: I have an extra entry called 'Unknown' which gets selected by the phone, and changing this to one of the GSM variants doesn't have any effect.
Like I said, it's random and not much of a show stopper right now since I'm thinking it's a software problem. I don't want to RMA my handset just yet.
I have seen some other threads where people seem to have this permanently and there are no resolutions provided in the threads.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Kind Regards,
Chris.
I m relieved to know someone else also has this problem. Last Sunday my handset just hanged on lockscreen, so I pulled out battery, reinserted it and sim stopped detecting, so I tried couple of restarts, factory resets still nothing. So flashed firmware a couple of times still nothing. So when I checked if firmware was flashed correctly, the baseband was showing unknown and IMEI was completely blank. Handset is still in warranty so I don't want to take any chances, I am sending it in on Monday. Will keep you posted on what happens. Let me know if ur problem is solved.
Phone started regularly reporting that the SIM wasn't inserted so a quick phone call to O2 and a courier is coming to pick the handset up tomorrow.
Still under warranty so they should be able to fix/replace it.
Pain in the backside though to back up everything and then reinstalling it again when it comes back (either repaired, or a new/replacement one)
Right,
I got it back.
Apparently they identified it as a faulty SIM card slot. I was sceptical of this at first, but I persevered with it.
Surely enough, 1 day into using it, the same happened.
Back to the repair centre with photographic evidence of the problem.
Same happened to me a few night ago, removing the sim and re-inserting it fixed the problem for me.
I haven't seen it again yet.
I was on the stock firmware and insecure kernel.
me too... never been update or using any clockmod firmware..it just suddenly happen... any other way to fix this...
I'm also having the same problem for days now. My phone is full stock, never rooted it, never installed and unsecure kernel.
It randomly loses IMEI, Baseband and GSM signal. Sometimes it comes back after rebooting phone, but sometimes it seems to be permanent.
Hello all. Tried searching for this, but can't find other similar threads on this. I hope someone can shed light on to this annoying issue.
I have an Atrix 16GB which I got off of T-Mobile UK. Several months ago I decided to purchase one of those network unlock codes off of eBay so I could use this phone with O2, as I have a Nexus 4 16GB which I'll be using my T-Mobile line with.
The code worked.
And that was the last time the phone functioned properly.
Now what I have is the following:
Won't accept any SIM.
Won't connect to any network.
Battery discharge is CRAZY. Even on Airplane mode, it lasts 3/4 day.
The thing is, the code DID work. I mean, the phone accepted it, and then it restarted itself. After that, it kept rebooting at the start screen. I had to go through the "rooting" and "unlocking the bootloader" process to get the phone out of the boot loop.
I was already on CM7.2 when I did the unlock code. Did that cause the issue? Should I have reverted to stock settings and locked the bootloader before unlocking the phone?
Anyone here have any idea what caused this, and more importantly, what the solution may be?
The reason I still like the Motorola Atrix is:
1. Replaceable Battery.
2. MicroSD Slot - I have a 32GB Class 10 card I'd like to use.
3. CM7.2 + DSP - Produces some of the BEST audio I've ever heard on a phone. I like it.
Thanks in advance for the help! :crying:
Hey,
Even though we're a phone unlocking business ourselves, this isn't something we've come across before but I have a thought which might help.
I'm unsure if your phone was rooted before you entered the unlock code, but if so, then it might have read "accepted" but in reality - it might not have been.
I've seen numerous occasions when someone has received a code from us and then entered it - the phone "accepted" it but still didn't work with the new SIM card. If the phone was rooted, this meant that the software in the phone caused the phone to react unexpectedly and essentially reject the switch (from locked to unlocked).
I'm wondering if the software on your phone flipped for some reason, causing the issues you've had.
The best bet is to make sure that when entering an unlock code, the original phone software is installed.
I'm unsure if that helps directly, but it might help in your style of thinking and where the issue may have stemmed from.
Hi
Yesterday, my phone was working fine. The battery was on 1% so I plugged it in to charge. I taken it off charge and turned it on, and was greeted by the no signal icon. Then, signal came back but read "emergency calls only." Now, I can't connect to my network. I tried a Vodafone sim in it and it worked OK, but two Three sims failed to work. I tried my dad's and mine. The funny thing is, my sim works in my dads phone, as does his. So by all accounts it looks as though three had blocked my phone from their network, even though it's pay as you go. I phoned them but they told me they haven't blocked it and it should work OK. I haven't touched anything on it, I just charged it.
Do any of you guys have any idea what could be wrong? I thought maybe the hardware had failed, but like I say it connected to vodafone so this seems impossible.
I'm seriously puzzled. I've tried recovering the firmware through Kies to no avail.
I'm at my wits end. Thanks!
Might be sim lock, was the phone originally locked to vodaphone?

I have an Samsung S9 Plus that was an AT&T unit (I think) and I flashed it over to the global firmware so I could use it on Visible (Verizon). It has been working for months, but I have now had this problem happen twice. I get up on a Monday, and notice that my phone has no service. I think it says "No Network Connection" or something like that. The first time I tried many of the usual steps - switching airplane mode, resetting network, wiping the cache, long support chats with Visible. What finally got it working again was putting in another sim(from Red Pocket - AT&T). That made the phone go through a reboot to swap over to the new sim. Then I put the old Visible sim back in. The phone does another reboot, and now everything is working again.
Is there a way that I can get the phone to go through this process without swapping the sims? I would just like to know if there is a more efficient way of fixing this problem when it pops up.

Call your carrier and have them to a reprovision. I had this happen with T-mobile coming from Sprint.. They will have you turn off the phone, do something on their end, and after that it should work.
Just to update, I have switched over to ATT Prepaid. Since the change, I have not had the problem happen. I think it must have been an issue with Red Pocket. Either that or something that got fixed with an update. Just putting these data points out there for anyone else that is having issues like this.
