Hello
I want to ask, how to edit build.prop with the flashable zip?
I think it's complicated to do manual edit in build.prop
I hope there is someone that can teach me the method step by step
Thanks before ^^
Do you want to edit build.prop file in a rom of zip format
If yes then
Extract the zip first

I have a samsung note 3 sprint smn900p
I want to translate the system apks like framework-res.apk and secsettings.apk
then I found one of my friend has a same mobile note 3 sprint already translated and same android version 4.4.2
so I copy all of his files completely ( all system files and system apks ) around 2 GB .
and I make a backup of my system using TWRP recovery .
and now I try to install his framework-res.apk , so I copy it to my sdcard and using rootexplore then change the permissions to R-W-R-R and paste the framework-res.apk file to the system/framework folder and it already replaced the old framework-res.apk with the new framework-res.apk which already translated . but the problem I dont see that the mobile make upgrading for the new apk so I go to the new framework and try to install it from rootexplorer but always get a message app not installed.
I change the mount to RO then RW but nothing change only app not installed.
so how to install the new framework-res.apk ?
my second question, can I make a new rom using my friends complete system files and flash it to my mobile ?
thank you

What language are you trying to get that's not already built into the phone? For future reference, it is best to change the framework via recovery, if at all.
I want to get arabic language on my mobile.
and the 4.4.2 stock rom delete many languages on it so even morelocal app cant add any language.

You might as well flash a custom ROM for it. Or you will have to replace every singe files on the device as they all have ref to other languages. Yes they remove alot of them. Like my device doesn't even have that option and none I have used have, they have all needed alot of work and none work completely.

I have all of the system apks that are already translated from another same mobile.
and I want to change the original system apks with these system apks that are already translated like ( framework-res.apk, secsettings.apk, mms.apk, phone.apk )
so my question how to install the translated system apks ?
my mobile already rooted and has a TWRP recovery. first for a test I try to replace a framework-res.apk only to the system/framework and it succeed, but the problem the phone not doing reboot automatic and upgrade the new framework.
I try to install it from the root explorer but it says app is not installed .
so my question how to install the translated system apks ?
someone suggest me to make a full backup using custom recovery from the mobile that already translated and make a restore it to my mobile , can it be done ? is this way is correct ? because it will be very easy .
HI all
It's for the 3830 model i'm not sure if work on any other device
Few months ago I finally could change my tablet's battery icons so I want to share with you if you want to try
You need:
-A cwm backup only if a fc appears (then reboot in recovery, advanced restore, restore system)
-Xposed gravitybox module working (it's no necesary but is for avoid the bug appears
-a rom that works (for easy way) I recommend deodexed I cannot remember if works on odexed roms
-Rooted and knowledge about flashing through fastboot (for hard way)
If I miss something I will edit
This mod allows you to change the battery icons of your tablet and works, but it has 1 bug that I don't know if can be solved:
this is the thread where i found how to do the mod
The bug is that gravitybox can't change the color of the battery icon, but you can change the battery icon and this includes the color so it's not a big problem.
I'll try to ask for support at least for the screen freeze, but for now i'll tell you the method for installing it
There are 2 ways:
------->First of all have an updated backup if something goes wrong you need to restore!<---------
Then download my modded apk i'will attach all of they
easy way
is modifying a .zip file (you can do it even in your tablet but is slower and you need like 1.7 Gb free. In computer use zip editor I.e. Winrar)
1.- Extract somewhere in you computer, tablet
2.- Once made it erase systemui.apk and systemui.odex (if is odexed)from extracted directory/system/priv-app
3.- add my modded apk
4.-create zip ( recompile the files that you extracted)
5.- flash it in cwm recovery like a fresh rom
You can also edit the zip without extracting just go to the directory erase the files that I metion below then add my systemui.apk modded and wait for finish then do step 5.-
hard way
is when you don't want to break your head with you computer or you don't have it or don't want to use etc.
1.-locate my modded systemui.apk with a root Explorer then copy or cut
2.- go to root/system/priv-app/
3.- select systemui.apk and systemui.odex and erase them (maybe give you constant fc so you need precision and be patient
4.- paste my systemui.apk
5.- set permissions to rw-r-r (I'll attach a screenshot for how to do it)
6.- reboot and if you're lucky your battery icons will change wothout fc's
If you have fc from step 3.- this will take you a while only continue
If works go to NOTE 1 for avoid the bug and everything will go fine
Maybe hard way is too much
I attach only those that work maybe I need suggestions about the charging animations
problems check post 2
NOTE 2:
tis mod also allow to modules to change the battery icons with an xposed module xbattery themer If I not wrong. Also a theme compatible can change your battery icons maybe is a problem but is not a bug this is normal
NOTE 3
The first screenshot is v1.5 from attached zip then v2.0 and then 2.5
There are 2 versions In v2.0 only changes the charhging anim
Not working?
I'm not guarantee that work on your tablet but maybe there are mistakes
1.- check the permissions don't follow the image the root explorers aren't the same
If really doesn't work you need to restore a backup or flash a non-modded rom
The problem may be caused in odexed roms so you need to deodex and try again
for those that don't have a cwm recovery
If you don't have a recovery use fastboot and flash a stock .Img.gz rom
(turn off your tablet, boot in fastboot)
(fastboot flash system drag and drop file to command prompt, enter)
Or use the tethered cwm recovery for backup-restore your current rom
It's at your own risk and I'm not responsible for damages but it's too much it's only an apk
There is dual boot thread, I'm still without test it but if you have it and the dualboot allow you to go to the root of the tablet you can overwrite the apk for a non-modded skipping the steps but again i'm not sure if this is possible
I have some doubtss......mighht be a noob doubt
Will it work in 4.4.2???

Let me anwer your questions
Yes it's only for 4.4.2
Only if not works you'll have several fc becuase systemui can't start or your wallpaper will be black because system couldn't install the mod during the boot
I posted in post #2 if you don't have cwm recovery
Flash a stock rom in .gz format through fastboot sorry my mistake but as it says will return your system to stock (without xposed and root) so I don't recommend it
Ok:thumbup:
I will test it soon

UPDATE!!!
The problem of the screen freeze is gone and the Google search ring displays so you don't need xposed for trying to fix
After all it was a problem in apktool but I found it and the problem and now work perfectly
But I haven't time to make with other battery icons, for now I'll upload the systemui.apk that I'm using also it have other things but hope you like it.
I am sure that now can be decompiled the app and rebuild with other icons and xml.
Sorry for the fast reply I don't have Internet but I needed to reply that the bug has gone
i unpack and edit and repack secsetting.apk from system folder and replace with root explorer and give right permissions, setting worked until phone not restarted, when i restart phone goes to logo and stuks on logo
i unpack and repack secsetting.apk by apktool last version 2.4.1,and just edit string.xml in xml folder and device_setting_info.xml in values folder
the secsetting.apk is successfully unpack and repack without any error
do my unpack and repack have a problem? or something else?
I just edit strings and add menu in phone about
i found service.jar and recompile and replace this code with original code in PackageManagerService.smali :
.method static compareSignatures
.locals 7
const/4 v0, 0x0
return v0
.end method
and problem solved and phone boot up, but secsetting2.apk not working say has stopped after recompile
any solution is there?

I don't have much experience in doing this.
Maybe the logs show you what error you are getting?
Are you able to simply decompile and then recompile/resign without making changes?

Danny

Hello everyone,
This is a continuation from my previous thread as I've upgraded from a OP6T to a OP8 Pro.
Here's the original thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...neplus-boot-animation-for-oneplus-6t.4031823/
"I previously had the OnePlus 3, 6T and I upgraded to the 8 Pro. But from the OP3 I had the blue Oneplus Colette boot animation and I had a custom blue OP bootanimation from my 6T. I haven't found a viable replacement for my 8 Pro. So I have done it myself. I modified the boot animation to a medium blue (#0073ff). I hope you guys enjoy it."
Installation Method:
This needs root. There's a extra step before installing the modules, check with a root file explorer where's your bootanimation.zip file is. It should be in system/product/media
This process requires root
Download the chosen magisk module (OPstock or OPblue)
Only choose the normal size not ENLARGED
If you have magisk installed
Go into magisk manager, magisk modules
Install from storage
Choose zip and flash
Reboot and enjoy!
Any feedback is welcome
Important
The boot animation has the old OnePlus logo. I don't have the 8/ 8 Pro, so I can't make one with the new logo
Don't extract the bootanimation.zip to change the desc.txt file! And install that as the new bootanimation! IT WON'T WORK! Best way to change the position of the boot animation using the "Bootanimations for superuser" app by JRummy which is in the Links section.
Grant root by going into settings -> installation directory -> press the 3 dots. This is the safest way to grant root other than installing another custom bootanimation...
If the boot animation is TOO small, there is a fix which is in the Issues section
From trying to help users, you cannot use the magisk modules or replace the bootanimation.zip to modify the bootanimation on OOS 12 + OOS 13
Due to the booatnimation.zip being in my_product/media/ on OOS 12/13, u can't edit that partition manually and the OOS 12/13 desc.txt format is different compared to AOSP
For stock OOS 12/13, there's a magisk module that supposedly could install a custom bootanimation, but I don't use OOS so I'm not sure if it'll work. But there's orangefox recovery which can be installed and remove the magisk module if anything goes wrong. The XDA thread to this modue is in the Link section below.
Issues
If you got into any issues WITH THE INSTALLATION, just remove the magisk module.
If the position is wrong... Sorry for that as the desc/ positioning is set for the OP8 Pro. But all OP phones should have the same desc/ positioning as I have checked. If it is too small then it is your OS/ROM. This happened to me on Evolution X.
Method 1
If the bootanimation from the magisk module is too small. No worries as there is a fix.
Uninstall the magisk module!
Download the Enlarged OPBlue or OPStock module
Go into magisk manager, magisk modules
Install from storage
Choose zip and flash
Reboot and enjoy!
Method 2
If you don't own a OP device or the positioning is still wrong then use this method.
No worries as you can fix it yourself!
Uninstall the magisk module!
And as u have ROOT, go and find your original bootanimation.
Copy and it to back it up into your internal storage and rename it with something like original_bootanimation.zip
Go into the .zip file, open the desc.txt, find what are the numbers on the first line! Take a note of it!
Then reinstall the magisk module
After rebooting, install the Jrummy bootanimation app from the play store and it does need root. The link is in the LINKS section.
Then go into manage current bootanimation and tweak the bootanimation to same the numbers as your original bootanimation first line in the desc.txt
Reboot and check.
If it went well then well done! U can stop here or continue. Up to you
The new issues is that u should back up and tweak the magisk module, so that u got a copy of that bootanimation with that position and don't have to keep tweaking the bootanimation every time u switch to a ROM or phone.
So, go into system and find the new bootanimation (still bootanimation.zip)
Copy and paste to internal storage. Because u renamed the original bootanimation zip file, both zip files should be there and not replaced.
Then extract the boot animation magisk module
Go into system -> media
Delete that bootanimation.zip file and copy + paste the one u just copied into internal storage
Then go back till u have the module files and folders
Select all and compress/archive them into a zip file
Take a copy and backup that zip file! You now made ur own magisk module
Now uninstall the bootanimation magisk module in magisk manager
Reboot system and then install the magisk module u made
Done, u got your own magisk module and can keep reusing it with the exact position u want
Method 3
If you're having issues installing both the magisk module and the bootanimation .zip files.
The is a last resort, which is to install Boot Animations for Superuser app from the play store and it does need root. The link is in the LINKS section.
Before going through with this way of installation, make sure u have a copy of the desc.txt files/values as we need them later on.
Open the app
Press the plus symbol
Find the bootanimation.zip file u want to install
Press install
Once it has installed
Go back to the home menu of the app
Press plus symbol
Choose manage current animation
Using the saved copy of the desc.txt file, open the file
Now change the width and height (only one of them as the other changes accordingly) to match the values in the desc.txt file
Press apply
Now reboot to check the bootanimation looks right
Done, you now got your new bootanimation with the exact width and height
You can go back and change the FPS, but idk if it'll work correctly. Also, u can go and find this modified bootanimation .zip file and use it for your own magisk module!

Updates
27/10/21 - I have created a Magisk module for this and it works great in my experience
Ps. the desc/prefs are set for the OP8 Pro!
I have also renamed the files and put [MAGISK], to make it obvs that these are magisk modules and people don't flash the actual boot animation!
I have now attached magisk modules and just bootanimation zip files for:
Stock OP boot animation (Both animations and magisk module)
Blue OP bootanimation (Both animations and magisk module)
Blue OP bootanimation Enlarged if the blue OP animation is too small/doesn't match the OP boot icon when u first boot ur device
I have added a additional method in issues section for users who've been unable to install the bootanimation for both magisk module and manually changing it in system/media
9/11/21 - I have attached the new Stock OP boot animation Enlarged if the Stock OP animation is too small/doesn't match the OP boot icon when u first boot ur device
15/11/22 - I have finally managed to get the bootanimation.zip file of the new OP bootanimation for Android 12!
From testing OP has messed up the bootanimation and the whole file needs reformatting
I removed the attached the original .zip file of just the bootanimation due to issues
I will upload a blue version zip file and the magisk mods for both bootanimations
OOS 12 doesn't allow users with root to mod bootanimation
16/11/22 - Managed to reformat bootanimation frames to 450x1100
From my experience, 490x1200 looks better as it matches the bootloader logo
Posted bootanimation and magisk mod zips for new OOS 12 bootanimations
28/1/23 - Found a XDA thread for a magisk module that could install a custom bootanimation for Stock OOS 12/13
Why can't i find any pics/video of this?

@Wixcee No one has made a youtube video and u could just download the non magisk .zip files for just the bootanimation. Extract the .zip file and inspect the images yourself. Don't compress it and try to install that as your bootanimation. It won't work and just stick to the suggested methods to install it
I've attached a gif to this message.
I know it's been awhile but new update!
I've managed to reformat the original OOS 12 bootanimation from OP!
I'll release the magisk modules and bootanimation zips soon
Here's clips of both original and my custom blue one

Well, it would work for OOS 11 and AOSP for other devices. But the size and animation location is for the 8 Pro specifically then again idk as I only have a 8 Pro
Unfortunately it doesn't work on OnePlus 8T Android 13. I used it on A12 and it worked fine, but the A13 update ruined it.

Idk if you're talking about OOS 12 or 13, but for that it wouldn't work... For custom ROM/AOSP, it should work
But there's a magisk module that could install a custom bootanimation for OOS 12/13.
