The build version should be MRA58K. It's the latest/only build for Android 6/MM which is available for the european version of the V10 (AFAIK) where the bootloader can be unlocked. If you updated your phone via LG Bridge you can be fairly sure the installation of TWRP works.

Then go for it.
But make sure you follow the steps mentioned on the page linked above.
You will not brick your phone if you don't but perform a factory reset and loose all data.
Maybe do a backup on a micro SD card prior to trying to flash TWRP.
If you have not unlocked your bootloader yet you need definitely need to backup your data as the bootloader unlock will also perform a factory reset.

If you really typed "adb reboot boatloader" it is not surprising that the phone reboots because the parameter "boatloader" is unknown. The command executed by the phone is then "adb reboot".
"adb reboot bootloader" should solve the problem.
if "boatloader" is just a typo (though you typed it twice) check if "USB debugging" in the developer options is really enabled. Maybe disable and enable it again.
One other thing I forgot and it is not mentioned in the LG tutorial for unlocking the bootloader if I remember correctly:
I needed to enable the option "Allow OEM unlock" under developer options to be able to perform the unlock command with the unlock.bin file received by mail from LG. After the unlock is done and the phone rebooted disable this option again. Otherwise the fingerprint sensor is not working correctly. you can register fingerprints but not unlock your phone with it.

I've a H960A, but when I try to update the phone, LG bridge provides me the new version H96020a and says that my model number is h960! (without "A") Does it mean, that I can not unlock the bootloader?

Open the phone settings / About phone / Hardware info. What model number is shown there?
If it is in fact a H960 (without A) you can't unlock the bootloader.
Also there seem to be some problems with the H960A for some users. Meanwhile I suspect that those are phones which were not meant to be sold in Europe but somehow found their way here. Therefore some internal flag might prevent those phones from booting into bootloader / fastboot mode.

again a late reply, but for followers :
I also have a (32GB) H960A (bought from a german store), now unlocked and rooted.
The model number shown in settings when still in android 5.1 was also : Model : LG-H960
It's only after succesfull update (with LG Bridge) that the model shown in the settings became LG-H960A...
edit : I notice now that it is still detected as H960 by some

Hi.. Did u manage to solve your problem? We both have the same one..
I don't see this as a problem : the model is well H960A, it's just shortened in the set up menu. If you have a 32GB model, I don't think you could get something else.
I'm pleased to get it rooted, but sad to see so few development because of LG reluctance to let the community work on it.
before i asked many people for fix but no correct solution is got but ( thanks for devs support). now i experimented and solved imei and efs partition currupted by qcn method
NOTE: ( third party qualcomm imei changing softwares will not work i tried many but no use)
steps
1. first download tools and install
2. go to qpst.exe in c:/programfiles/qualcomm/bin/qpst
3. now connect your phone open port by dialing(*#*#76937#*#) in stock
4. check whether qualcomm diagnostic port is enabled or not in device manager
5. if it shown enabled and device info its connected through diag port in qpst
6. now click software download and take backup of ur partition and save as (.qcn) and click on start it will read ur partition and
xx.qcn file will created(xx is any name)
7. now open hex editor search your imei number with [08xa] x is your starting digit of imei example(087a) for second imei click
find next option
8. now open your imei convertor and palce your imei and click convert
9. replace that converted imei in the form of hexadcimal replace with old imei same for second imei
10. important thing is while saving the file only by (save as) which is important if any mistake is happen we cant recover after
restoring in efs partition.
11. after saving again go to qpst npw go to restore option now click on start .
thats it! you got imei and signal:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Let me answer but I'm not familiar with the subject, but I'm moving pretty well. Enter twrp. Definitely I would do a nice wipe is wipe date and clean everything. Then install Rom eui, connect the phone to the PC, take the zip file and copy it to the phone. After you go to the phone and search in sdcard the file you just put and flash zip files, restarting setup restarts and test.

You try the stock firmware EUI already? Sometimes imei can restore by factory image...make sure your system/storage partition is clean; I experienced imei lost by flashing wrong modem before...and restore the original modem and it fixed the problem by twrp! U can also try flash the Steve mars 23S radio firmware (modem) and see if work or not, good luck!

LG G5 RS988 "Your Device is Corrupt. It cannot be trusted and will not boot" HELP PLZ
Hello everyone,
I ran into this problem while trying to solve another.
The current state of my phone (RS988):
On booting, I receive this message: "Your device is corrupt. It cannot be trusted and will not boot."
Fastboot and Download Mode is still accessible.
I can still access the "Factory data reset" dialog, but after selecting "Yes" twice it takes me to the above message.
[edit]:
fastboot getvar unlocked
unlocked: no
I tried unlocking the phone again using fastboot flash unlock:
fastboot flash unlock unlock.bin

how can i recover from this ? btw im on LG G5 RS988 21d update and i had alot of trouble finding a kdz file for LGUP
I have the same problem. I used Uppercut & LGUP v.1.14.3 to flash "RS98811c_00_ARB01_1.kdz" using Refurbish option stops al 10% (Primary GPT) error 0x2BC invalid command response: 0x80000121. Using Upgrade option stops at 11% (laf)with error 0x2BC invalid command response 0x80000202.
I had lost the phone, when recovered only booted on twrp. I tried to fix it using:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/soc/624000.ufshc/by-name/misc
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/soc/624000.ufshc/by-name/fota
After booting appeared the message "Your device is corrupt. It cannot be trusted and will not boot."

the same thing exactly happened to me, somehow the bootloader got LOCKED again. i cant unlock it because of OEM Unlocking not enabled after wipe in TWRP. thinking about getting a new Logicboard\Motherboard. and i couldn't find RS98821d kdz\tot anywhere.
You'll need to send them in for repair with someone who has the non-free proprietary Qualcomm firehose files, xml partition map, and non-free stock partition files .mbn/.bin (similar to kdz/tot, but aren't). Or through the JTAG box method that I use. There's no other way to revive this particular phone model RS988 besides this method. I can do the JTAG box method repair if interested. You also wiped your fota and misc (can cause BT, wifi, and DRM media problems) partition which you shouldn't have, which again can't be fixed without JTAG. I can't share my particular methods, but if you Google them or search on YouTube, you'll get an idea.

I flashed the RS98810h.kdz file (which you can find on InfoPrime AIO Thread) using LGUP which basically the only kdz that i could flash. and for the DLL you could Use Uppercut (Also in InfoPrime AIO thread) then unlocked the bootloader again and installed TWRP then flashed the RS98821d zip. Thats it.
Or if u dont want to install TWRP you could just flash the RS98810h.kdz using LGUP and uppercut then unlock the bootloader and you're good to go.

Hey, the LG Tribute Dynasty is a mcv150 device. You might be able to install the TWRP for my device on your's. If it flashes then I can fix the the bugs. Search LG Aristo 2 TWRP. The device is a cv1 but the Phones look exactly the same. Give it a shot.

Looking at the list of firmwares found the LG Fanclub Download page for the Aristo 2, which one would you recommend I take the fastboot and aboot partitions from? I would post the link but I am still listed as a junior member. There are 26 different firmwares listed, although several of those are 8.1, so I know not to use those. My phone is SP200 LMX201ULMA.

I just checked my current firmware kdz file (X210ULMA11a_00-NAO_US_OP_0921.kdz) and there are no partitions labeled aboot or fastboot. There is a boot partition and a recovery partition. Are the aboot and fastboot partitions contained WITHIN another partition?

Yah, you could use the Fastboot and aboot partitions from the Aristo 2 nougat firmware.

Two more things I can add:
1) I have a SP200.kdz file which I could share. It is a GSM version from a South American country.
2) I also have a complete dump of my phone using LGUP, if that would help.

Well since you device is LMX2101ULMA I would use the fastboot and aboot partitions from the LMX210MA 10K
Here's the link:

Why did you use Chip Erase? That's what Chip Erase does. It wipes out IMEI. In none on the Instructions for WTF or Frankenstein does it say to use Chip Erase on LGUP.
You'll have to Google how to do that. On XDA we can't talk about how to change IMEI.

You're crazy or very lucky. Chip Erase WILL delete IMEI. That is what it does.
Straight from the manual:
https://9to5lg.com/lgup-1-15-manual-how-to-unbrick-restore-your-lg-devices-with-lgup/
3) ChipErase: Dangerous, This will erase IMEI/efs, Do not try this if you do not have a NV backup.

All I know is every one who reports they used chip erase in the Frankenstein thread wiped their IMEI. It's not part of ANY instructions in this forum, so any one who does it in on their own.
Here's the remainder of the explanation:
REFURBISH: You will lost all user data(KDZ or TOT)
2) UPGRADE: Keep data and update your phone(KDZ or TOT)
Select Upgrade to flash kdz firmware to unbrick/restore your phone back to stock.
3) ChipErase: Dangerous, This will erase IMEI/efs, Do not try this if you do not have a NV backup.
Chip Erase can also remove the Google FRP on many LG devices with Android 5.0, 6.0. (Such as LG H345, LG MS345)
4) PARTITION DL:flash the single Parition or selected paritions onto your phone.
This feature can solve “unkown model” issues. This feature can be used to bypass google frp by flashing specific tot firmware.
5) DUMP:Dump all paritions of your phone as backup.,
AT&T and Spring LG phone users who may need this feature to dump the firmware from a working phone as back up and use Patition DL to restore phones.
6) FOTA Upgrade: This can be used to flash OTA Update file that comes with dot up file extention.

try restore modem image via partition backup restore if you don't have one, try to pull from other V30 or other lg phone you have. Don't expect your phone will be normal as before, it's just some experiment that I suggest since you don't have any answer yet.
If you have a twrp EFS backup use that to restore. If not then you likely won't be able to restore it
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73489308&postcount=2 try this.
Make sure you still have the box for legit imei.
and instead of 815, replace with your phone model number e.g 930, 931, or 932...

this is the program that I messed up my device with it (hard brick) after i restore edited efs partition .
it cost me about 30 $ to boot it with medusa box in repair shop.
So I became not afraid to break it so much that I did chiperase several times and did not even lose Imei.

Please, no one else do that. You will lose IMEI. Only this one person says they have not lost IMEI using Chip Erase in LGUP, especially our Dev Patched LGUP.

maybe because my device is repaired ?
I think I lost IMEI using one of the TWRP version switching to another LS998. My backup of the first was on a different TWRP version I didn't recognize the feature/version difference. So my old device backup of everything didn't have the same partitions as the new phone TWRP was capable. I wiped everything on the new device and restored everything SMH... Everything worked well except I went ahead and erased data because encryption. But later when I was checking for Gpay I realized my IMEI was 0. Lame. Obviously I still have the IMEI I even double checked it against the numbers captured by Android Find Device (not everyone knows that's there) but no way to restore it it seems.
Now I have a terrorist phone, as they call it, I guess. Anyway everything still works etc coming back from airplane mode takes a restart most times, and Gpay contactless payments cards stopped adding. FYI I guess for others. Still rocking my V30. Like my neighbor Chazmatt I might just buy another one lol one day and keep this one as the family backup. Otherwise I'm still using it full time.
2 day search Google, I repaired my phone imei but SN still emplty, i used Kingtool software. Every one can fix it if lose imei !

Just for info: I have used the qualcomm nv tools from above (and set the port check test) and it worked for me!
Now I got my IMEI back!!! yipiieh
