Realme 7 Pro vs Redmi Note 9 Pro (ideas/thoughts) - Realme 7 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi.
Just incinerated my previous phone. (literally battery fire...!)
So I've narrowed it down to either the Realme 7 Pro or
the XIaomi redmi note 9 pro
anyone here have any thoughts, experiences, etc?
specs are close, dont really care about the minute photo differences, or the pixel definitions, etc.
more interested in speed, ease of use, ease of rooting, etc.
thank in advance

I owned redmi note 9 pro (max)
Very very speedy
Easy to root, all you need is MAGISK without TWRP. (unless you pretty much a ROM fever so you need TWRP).
Does not require re-install all apps again on every firmware upgrade then root again
Little bit heavy
Glass back but boring color nowadays
occasionally restart or hanged which is unfortunate even with latest firmware
I'm not satisfy my unit have some flaws sleeping all the time without responding to TASKER tasks
However, I prefer give realme 7 pro a try as stereo speaker, little smaller battery than redmi 9 pro but OLED Screen, fast charge although I will avoid to use that but a regular charger to protect my battery Life., Fast charge are bad to battery
Light weight, only plastic back but sexy colors
But, I will only purchase as soon as I can see a true root method to that. I've seen some rooting realme 6 looks-a-like pretty simple steps starting from Unlock bootloader

Redmi note 3 Pro (Snap650) - value for money?

Hi
I am Nexus 4 user - great phone with lot of great ROMs available here, great performance and good size - but battery is no longer big enough to match my needs. So I am looking for a new phone and ran into Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro.
There is a lot of positive comments about this device, but also quite a lot of drawbacks - no 800MHZ band, problems with microphone/speaker, some battery performance issues... So, is there any better choice in that kind of money? I am looking for something with big battery to be able to do something more than 2-2,5h of WEB vieweing... I am not playing games, apps that I am using are not really demanding ones. My other thought is Asus Zenfone Max - but Redmi Note 3 PRO looks much better while comparing some statistics.
So, any other thoughts? I would be grateful for all responses and advices
If you need 800mhz try: http://www.geekbuying.com/item/-HK-...OTG-Fast-Charge-Gyroscope---Black-367828.html
I have no issues with battery or speaker. 800mhz isn't the end of the world unless you 100% need it
If you can live without 800mhz and bad low light camera, nothing can beat this device value. Battery and performance is among the best you can get today.
I never have those mic/speaker/battery/performance issues.
Hello, I received my RN3 Pro yesterday and I have to say it's freakin amazing. A definite upgrade from Nexus 4(I came from a Moto G2, and before that Nexus 4). I charged it to 100% yesterday and it gave me 7.5hrs SOT till 1pm today, which is frankly mind blowing for two reasons,
1) More than 4hrs SOT ftw
2) I played around 1hr of Pokemon go ( continuously uses 3G and GPS) and still managed 7hrs sot.
So yes, you'll easily get >3hrs of web viewing. The one issue I found however is that the phone makes a hissing sound when connected to AUX cable, many people have this problem and are saying it's software related, so maybe there will be a fix. Secondly on very low volume with earphones,(step 1-3) you can hear a noticeable hissing sound which I'm pretty sure is software related, but it's not a deal breaker. The drawback of the Asus I feel is that there's no rom support, not as good specs as the RN3. RN3 has a snapdragon 650 which is basically an improved version of last year's flagship SoC. Also, build quality is amazing on the RN3. MIUI is a great feature packed rom!
So basically I definitely recommend the RN3, the battery life is going to definitely make you very happy
Yes definitely, its a beast and even I came from mako to this phone .I've to say I'm amazed by its battery and performance.really so fast the custom ROM development is awesome for this phone.. definitely a good choice to buy this phone for such a low cost..!
Thank You very much for all answers
Yeah, I think I can live without 800mhz, for taking good photos in every occasion I have other more specialized devices
I just ordered 2/16 version

I miss my redmi note 3 pro

This nexus is really make me missing my old redmi note 3 pro and his battery, 10 hours sot, super fast fingerprint.
camera was crap, but at least I hadnt to recharge twice a day
how was the software? the chinese make good smartphones, but i dont like their miui thing.
too bloaty and just too many annoying notifications/warnings etc.

Question Anyone got ridiculously overheating issues? Redmi Note 10

I barely touched my phone since I bought it. Almost no apps are installed, but even then when I was downloading WhatsApp from PlayStore my phone got overheated. It is beyond annoying. Even with regular use my temps rises up to a point that holding my phone and putting it back to my pockets makes me uncomfortable. I don't even play games! I also got Redmi 6A, it struggles to get past 25 fps in many modern games, but still idle heat of Redmi Note 10 is higher than my 6A. Especially in the camera area. I'm using 4/64 variant with stock global MIUI rom(12.0.10 stable) Is there any way to fix this?

Question Buying the 6 but, still having a 30W charge speed...

So, I have some Nexus and Pixels phones in the past, and went to OnePlus, 3, 5, 6 and 7 (Pro).
I still have the 7 Pro with 12GB RAM and 256 GB memory, I bought this due the pop up camera (privacy) and stock ROM experience.
Fine, now I'm consedering buying the 6 or 6 Pro, but what I find weird is, why is this nice Tensor chipped phone named a "Flagship"?
Like, some competitors have 65W, 100W, 125W battery charge possibilities and this phone is still stuck on 30W, what even isn't maybe 100 true.
Still try to find a reason, because all the rest is nice...
Because OnePlus has effectively become a trash version of Samsung, releasing phones without OIS on their cameras that cost $900, abandoning Oxygen (the cleanest skin there is) in favor of ColorOS, throttling performance without telling owners, and overall just abandoning the user base that had loved them for years and made them who they are.
The Pixel 6 is 600 bucks, has superior photos regardless of hardware, promised software and security updates, a smooth user experience, some very unique features that other phones just don't have. At that price, it's an incredible steal.
If you're burning through your battery in a day, I dunno what to say. But my hardest day I've had 30% left after 17 hours of use.
I have owned several OnePlus phones - 6, 7T and Nord - and now on the Pixel 6.
I am perfectly happy with the charge speed of the P6- sure it might take a little bit longer - but certainly not caused me inconvenience or unreasonable wait.
I was using the OnePlus Dash chargers most of the time with my OnePlus..
The one thing I do miss from the OnePlus is the excellent fingerprint scanner/face recognition - worked 95% of the time.
The Pixel is being a pain - but just installing the latest December update - which is supposed to improve the FP functionality...so we shall see.

Same reason Apple doesn't go all in on that. Having faster charging speeds means more money spend on charger controllers, smaller battery capacity, higher degradation over time, etc. Faster is not better all the time, if you want the phone to last is better to avoid using fast charging as much as possible. Asus which doesn't go much by this trend is one of the OEM with biggest battery in their devices for a reason. Everything is about compromises, if charging the phone completely in 30-45 minutes is such a most have this is not the phone for you.

Question What's good, what's bad???

So I'm thinking of buying the P6, there's a good deal on amazon for 529€.
So ppl who have used it what do u like about it and what not???
The only real annoyances I've encountered are the fingerprint reader occasionally not reading my fingerprint and the connectivity toggle in Android 12. The latter I fixed by rooting and installing Better Internet Tiles from the Play Store. The former? I deal with it for now, but I do think after taking the July update I'll set my fingerprints up again.
I have some issue with multitasking. Sometimes I can't do a gesture to active multitasking. It's happening twice per day. June update din't solved it. It's really anoying.

Most noticable annoyances for me are the slow fingerprint reader, the camera app taking like 5 seconds to switch between photo and video (idk if this happens to other p6s but it made me miss a lot of great shots) and no face unlock.
What's good
- pure Android without bloatware
- very good photos
- Material Me (it is a gimmick but I like it)
- flat screen with deep blacks
What's bad
- charging slow compared to my previous phone (Xiaomi mi 11 Ultra)? Not on par with competition on this criteria
What's neither good neither bad
- fingerprint reader : I don't have any problem, it works as my previous Xiaomi mi 11 Ultra but not as fast as my Galaxy tab S8
- screen brighrness, I have no problem reading it even in sunlight, but I have seen brighter (my Galaxy tab S8)
- battery life. I have 10h SOT, 34h overall. More than enough for one day, but not enough for 2 days
Overall, I like this phone a lot, more than my previous Xiaomi mi 11 Ultra even if it is far cheaper.

Slow charging is probably due to optimized charging being checked. It will slowly charge overnight and will be at 100% just before your alarm is set to go off. At least that's how it's supposed to work. Didn't work on my wife's pixel 6 so we disabled it.

With my previous Xiaomi mi 11 Ultra, I could charge from 0 to 80% in less than 30mn and to 100% in less than 45mn. I am sure there are no Pixel 6 settings that could allow that.
Slow charging? It does 30W USB PD/21W Wireless.. that's roughly 66% in 1h. Sure the Mi Ultra 11 charges at 65W+ but its also a Li-Po battery, while P6 uses the more common Li-Ion. Li-Po batteries have a shorter life-cycle and charging at 65W+ will degrade its life-span even faster.
I plug my phone in for 30mins and I get 30-40% battery which is a more than enough charge to get me through whatever for the day. Though only time I actually ever have needed to plug my phone in to get me through the day is when I play games on it for a while.
The fingerprint reader is slow but it has dramatically improved since release. It was annoyingly slow at launch, now I don't even notice the lag.
Iv'e had some wierd restarts at the start an update fixed the issue and now everything is good
