So i've tried so many means of making this work but i'm here as a last resort. Ive got a couple of old tablets running android 5.0 ( Lollipop ) and they were custom made and distributed by a company called Five Cubits. Ive tried to contact the company to see maybe if they had a software update or system update so I could install google play services on it but I think its gone bankrupt I've left voicemails but no response. I've tried to install google play services on this tablet with root access and its saying google play services has stopped working on a loop, I've tried going back to install older versions to no avail. The device model is MDT7P2-01. My question would be to anyone who sees this post, is there anyway I could install google play services to have it work on the tablet and or if I could get android 5.1 update on it or maybe android 6.0. All help is greatly appreciated thanks.
@zoblod
Never heard of a crash report like "Google Service has stopped working" but of "Google Play Services has stopped working". Did you mean the latter?
FYI:
At the time you won’t get Google Play Store to install apps and if you download any app from an unknown source, then it will crash and display a message “Google Play services stopped working”.
Google Play Services autoupdates by default.

Recently got a refurb Sony NSZ-GS8. I love the remote with the chicklety keyboard
Device is not rooted, just the Google TV honeycomb OS
I installed many apps *over 150*apps, via side loading and play store
of course 95% of apps either will not install or force close so I did a lot of uninstalling
but I finally got a few things going nicely if a bit slow
Now the play store is messed up...
I can purchase the apps in the Google play store but the install process starts and will never finish
I did clear cache and data for the play store app in system settings and same thing
Then I did a sideload install of Google play and play services and same problem
As a result I will need to install apps on my tablet first then copy the apk to cloud then sideload on Sony Google TV
So what really sux is something like AOL for Google TV can not install on my tablet as I get a message "incompatible device"
I also unplug the Sony NSZ-GS8 when I went away for a few days as the NSZ-GS8 feels too hot for me ,,,
Any ideas suggestions are appreciated
TIA Dave
search for version of your android which is compatible for your phone respectively.
I had to fight this on 2 tablets now. The play store gives connection problems. I've tracked the issue down to the newer versions of Google Play Services.
Google Play services v 8.7.03 worked fine, such that Play Store never had issues. Then one tablet updated to Google Play services v 9.0.83 end of May, and another one just updated a week ago to Google Play services v 9.2.56. This screwed up the Play Store, which started to display the connection error. What's interesting is that if I manually re-install 8.7.03, the Play Store is still unstable, requiring me to sign in here and there.
Today I've installed a patched version of Play Store, the one that should not update itself (google for "patched google play store", select the link that also has the smiley app). Then I re-installed the 8.7.03 version of Play services. Regardless, within minutes, the Play Services got updated back to 9.2.56 (apparently, the patched Play Store does not prevent updates to Google Play Services). Yet for some reason this latest permutation seems to work, and I am finally able to get apps from the Play Store again.
There is no way to block the Google Play Services updates as we could do on FireOS 4.5.x ... The old trick with the directories named as apk does not work ...
Anyway, what the situation out there ? I am not seeing many reports, but the issues must be happening ! Please, chime in!
Hello
I have Utok Q50 MediaTek MT6582M based smartphone with Android 4.4
In the last 7-10 days my phone constantly reports "Google play services has stopped. Send data?" and "Unfortunately Google Play services has stopped".
After some research I have found out method how I could solve this.
Google play services should be downgraded (by installing apk) to the version before the current one (I see reading Google play comments that many users with different devices have the same problem with the last version). I can achieve this, after rooting (done), with Disable Service app. I have concluded that my phone works flawlessly until Google Play service is silently updated to the current version.
I need your help by getting advice which services in Google Play or Google play services should be disabled with Disable service app in order to prevent silent update of Google play services. This will be temporary but efective solution until new version of Google Play services is released. Unfortunately, I can't find any info on the web to solve this on my own.
Many thanks in advance
Having the same issue right now.

Dears, the problem that broachs this query to forum is related to a kind of virus called google play services. But let's start the tale from the very beginning: It popped I in about a year ago or so on my faithful full stock Alcatel Android 4.2.2 (running finest & fastest with around 270 apps and heavy duty since near 3 years) It began with lags and a pop window saying: ''this app won't work until you update google play services'' also in the attempt to open several apps non related to creepy google. Innocently I joined the message and did so. Once updated, the phone gone almost blocked and overheated, leaving room enough as to go settings (reaching there after several minutes) and press uninstall updates button and the problem vanished. This happened thrice in a year because of my doubts about, finally never again I updated the crappy play services and it never ever SELF UPDATE as follows.....:
Now....To make my Alcatel company I bought a brand new 4.4.2, slotted a copy of my SD and installed my APKs. All right for a short while until the same problem appeared again. Again I uninstalled the play services update and fixed BUT...Now the play services along with the play store self update constantly, even self turning the Wi-Fi on. First I tried all the simple tricks (disabling auto sync, disabling google now, etc and etc) but they both leaped every barrier. Then I disabled play services but even apps non google crashed completely......
Finally I rooted and run 3C toolbox. In app management > services I unchecked the two autoupdate boxes of play store BUT....the boxes self re check and there smily came the play store update.... I set the linux firewall for both playstore and play services but all seems to be useless.
This morning through 3C toolbox I flushed away to the gutter most of google crap user apps, then guessing by the sequence of their auto updating (always first play store) I disabled play store suspecting it enables the play services auto update and no news of self updates until now, but the keyboard still lags, a film online still winks and a couple of apps and the settings page opened by itself.
The question is: the 4.4.2 play services version is 6.1.83. Is it possible to replace it by installing an APK of the version 4.0.34 that my 4.2.2 runs ? If so, how is to perform a safe replacing ? Compatibility ?I dare to guess first step disabling play services, second installing the APK and check behaviour..... If not I'll acknowledge any suggestion or alternative. I'm just a half advanced and curious user
I wish the disabling of the play store keeps the situation stable and the only matter here is replacing goggle play store with something similar
Thanks in advance.
Hello, I've got EMUI 10 a month ago, but in the last couple of days, I have a strange issue with the play store. When I try searching for anything I could previously install from play store (facebook, twitter,Viber,Instagram), the search won't return any results... I have tried clearing data and cache for play store and play services, re-adding google account, nothing helped. I have even contacted google support through play store chat platform, and after trying a few steps, they advised me to contact the device manufacturer...
Did anybody else experienced the same issue, could it be fixed somehow?
Couple of possibilities, do you have data access via sim or wifi and is it working. Have you updated play store and Google services? Have you applied customizations? Have you restricted play store access to power and data. What did you do on device before you noticed the glitch?
I've been on 10 for awhile and no isues after updating.

Everything is stock and updated, no restrictions... Nothing was done to the device when this started, that is the main reason I am asking if maybe something is broken in EMUI 10 and Play store compatibility
